Won Buddhism: Sacred Science - Dr. Lennell R. Dade

Member's Talk by Dr. Lennell Dade (April 9, 2023) @WonDharmaCenter https://wondharmacenter.org/ The Founding Motive of the Teaching by Sotaesan Today, with the development of scientific civilization, the human spirit, which should be making use of material things, has steadily weakened, while the power of material things, which human beings should be using, has daily grown stronger, conquering that weakened spirit and bringing it under its domination; humans therefore cannot help but be enslaved by the material. How would they avoid the turbulent sea of suffering in their lives? Consequently, our founding motive is to lead all sentient beings, who are drowning in the turbulent sea of suffering, to a vast and immeasurable paradise by expanding spiritual power and conquering material power through faith in a religion based on truth and training in morality based on facts.

Three Great Powers by Rev. WonGong

Rev. WonGong explains how we can recharge our spiritual batteries by engaging in the "Three Great Powers," known in Won Buddhism as the "Threefold Practice" - Cultivation, Inquiry, and Choice in Action. She dives deep into ways we can cultivate these powers by referring to the scriptures and wise teachers, like Master ChōngSan, who saw that these powers involve accumulation and utilization. Rev. WonGong assures us that we can develop equanimity, inquiry, and mindful choice because "Who got the power? …You got the power!" https://www.wonbuddhismnc.org/
