It was a gift to have Mark Head with us for our family gathering in October. He shared the story of Joseph from the perspective that reveals the painful reality of a journey through the mess of rejection, betrayal, disappointment and battered hope. What happens when the dream we have been given is obscured by disappointment after disappointment and hope runs out; when we cry out, “If God is with us, then it shouldn’t be like this!”Mark shows us that just like Joseph, God is with us in the midst of tragedy; He is present and active.He sees you right now, He knows you right now, and He loves you right now. He is never far from you. We may even be able to relate with Joseph that “God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”

One of the greatest joys in our lives is having the opportunity to spend time with someone who has humbly journeyed through more things in life than we have been through ourselves. True eldership is a rare gift that comes from the realities of life’s journey, interwoven with the goodness of God, experienced over many decades.Helene King is one of these ‘gifts’. Most would refer to her as akin to being like a mother. She is well acquainted with the brokenness and pain of the human race, and as such, the love of God flows from her in real depth to all who come across her path. This message shared in October 2021 at a Fatherheart reunion impacted all of us listening - it will encourage and inspire you to the amazing truths yet to be discovered regardless of age.She reminds us that chronological age is but an adventure to discover what she calls her true age, “I’m nine on the inside.”

"What's in the space between the Truth that we believe in and the experience that we live in? And how do we close that gap that can seem like an impassable chasm? Intercession is the Key of the Kingdom that doesn't just bridge the gap, it actually brings truth and experience together.

The real-time adventure of becoming a dad to children is undoubtedly one of the most challenging and rewarding adventures a man encounters in his life. If I was to meet the ‘younger me’, I would want to tell myself everything I have learned so far so that the younger me could be one step ahead of all that which I would face. That’s not possible of course, but we can pass along some of what we have learned to you younger men, so that you may be able to be a few steps ahead.
