Dr. Mathew Leonardi Endometriosis Expert Advanced Gynecological Surgeon & Ultrasound Specialist "Ignored Because It Is Benign – It Is Time to Treat Endometriosis as if It Were Cancer"

Dr Mathew Leonardi is an advanced gynecological surgeon and sonologist (ultrasound specialist) at McMaster University Medical Centre in Hamilton, Canada. He has been awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, which focused on the utility of ultrasound in diagnosing and managing endometriosis. We talk about non-invasive ways to diagnose endo, the challenges doctors and patients face in Canada, and much more. This podcast has inspired me to have more ways to diagnose endo sooner and without surgery. She did not have pain but had stage 4 endometriosis that was discovered during her fertility journey and now has her "miracle babies."

Join me today as I chat with Jill; we talk about her treatment with Clear Passage and how it helped her on her fertility journey. Jill did not have any pain with her cycles- she did have heavy bleeding, and her Mother had endo, but because she did not present with the pain, she did not think she could have endo. Jill started to have cysts and pain when she started fertility treatments which led her to three surgeries and a stage 4 endo diagnosis. She wanted to find alternative methods to help her, and she went to Clear Passage- Larry joins us to tell us more about the method they use to break up adhesions and scar tissue.TW: we do chat about pregnancy loss in this episodeThanks to Jill for sharing her story. Want to watch the show on YouTube? https://www.youtube.com/@MelissaBouFollow for clips of the show:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecycle.endopodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecycleendopodcastThank you for listening to and supporting this podcast. After suffering for 29 years, she was finally diagnosed with Endo at 45 years old, and she is now PAIN & fatigue FREE!

Ellen is now 48 and lives in Milwaukee, WI. Her mother is a nurse and always grew up with painful periods. At 16 years old when she began her cycle her cramps were mild. But at 18 years old she began to notice things were a bit off, she has intense fatigue and brain fog and if she laughed too hard she would pee a bit. Starting at this point her pain & fatigue began to interfere with her daily life. She did not tolerate birth control well and did not take it. She adjusted her life to live with her pain, and at 44 she finally had her first laparoscopy surgery for an ovarian cyst. A year later she finally got her diagnosis and at 46 years old she was able to have excision surgery, she started a fundraiser to help with the cost of the procedure. Today 1.5 years after that surgery she is PAIN-FREE. Dr. Nicholas Fogelson Endometriosis expert; talks all things Endo and gives us a peak behind the medical curtain. Wonderful information in this show.

I asked Dr. Fogelson to come on the podcast as I see he is very active on social media and his compassion for helping people who suffer from Endo, he not only wants to help educate but is down to Earth and very straight forward about why it is hard to get medical care for Endo. Dr. Fogelson provides expert level gynecologic surgery and endometriosis care in Portland, OR at Northwest Endometriosis and Pelvic Surgery. He came on to answer all of my questions about Endo, the medical field, and why doctors do not understand Endo and people who have it. We had a very candid and honest conversation that I believe everyone should listen to if you have Endo. Want to learn more about Dr. Fogelson? https://www.nwendometriosis.com/ He also hosts a podcast: https://www.nwendometriosis.com/podcast Want to keep the conversation going? Join our Facebook Group: tiny.cc/7mpbnz Thank you for listening and supporting this podcast. Endo warrior and a (MS) Masters of Science & (RD) Registered Dietitian. Provides us tips for Endo.

Lily lives in Sunny, California. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Masters of Science!! (She is wicked smart!) I was very excited to chat with her because I have questions about diet, exercise, and products that people with Endo should use to help ease our inflammation. If you want to listen to Lily's tips skip to 52:00. * Trigger warning, fertility, miscarriage, pregnancy discussed in this episode. I asked Lily to share her journey first before we got into her advice. Lily has stage II Endo. Her pain started early on and was very severe on the first day of her period. She went on birth control for many years, and her period did not come back for 2 years. Once it did return she was not in a great deal of pain but it did begin to build a few years later. Her symptoms intensified but she thought this was normal. In her late 20's she wanted to begin to grow her family this is when she really started to notice that something was off. An ectopic pregnancy leads her to her Endo diagnosis after she had a miscarriage 8 months prior. At this point, she still did not really understand what Endo means. Listen in to hear her full journey, and how she is going to have excision surgery soon. Want to keep the conversation going? Join our Facebook Group: tiny.cc/7mpbnz Thank you for listening and supporting this podcast. Can Endo pain be reduced without surgery or drugs? Some Data says “Yes, with the Clear Passage Approach."

In this episode, I chat with Larry and Belinda Wurn about how they are treating Endo without surgery. They have been working with this physical therapy treatment since the early '90s and helping many people along the way. Using the Wurn Technique (they created) to reduce adhesions that cause pain from Endo. Very interesting information and data to prove the method works. We talk in detail about how they got started and how they are helping so many today. More info here: www.clearpassage.com/what-we-treat/chronic-pain/endometriosis-pain/ Want to keep the conversation going? Join our Facebook Group: tiny.cc/7mpbnz Thank you for listening and supporting this podcast.
