How to Perform Hajj - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi (English)

Summary in English In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Hajj is an essential obligation in Islam, made mandatory in the 9th year of Hijra. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performed Hajj in the 10th year, known as the Farewell Hajj. The Prophet (PBUH) performed Hajj Qiran, while most companions intended Hajj Ifrad. He instructed them to perform Tamattu as they were unaware of the correct procedures. There are three types of Hajj: Tamattu, Ifrad, and Qiran. In Tamattu and Qiran, both Umrah and Hajj are performed in one journey, whereas, in Ifrad, only Hajj is performed. Certain restrictions apply during the state of Ihram, such as not wearing stitched clothing, applying perfume, or hunting. Upon reaching Mecca, pilgrims perform Tawaf, followed by Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. Those performing Tamattu exit the state of Ihram and re-enter it on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah. Pilgrims go to Mina on the 8th, Arafat on the 9th for supplication until sunset, and then to Muzdalifah for combined prayers and overnight stay. On the 10th, they perform the stoning of Jamrat al-Aqabah, sacrifice an animal, and shave or cut their hair, followed by Tawaf al-Ifadah. They perform stoning on the 11th and 12th and may stay for the 13th for an additional stoning. Before leaving Mecca, they perform the Farewell Tawaf, completing the major rituals of Hajj. Urdu Narration: How to Perform Hajj - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi

Continue Reading: Video: How to Perform Hajj - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi (Urdu, English) The Clear Evidence

Rulings on Cutting Hair and Nails in Dhul-Hijjah - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi (English)

Summary in English This audio addresses the question of whether a person intending to perform Qurbani should refrain from cutting their nails and hair from the first to the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah. It explains that according to a hadith from Umm Salama, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed those who plan to offer a sacrifice to not cut their hair or nails until the sacrifice is made. This practice is considered Sunnah and is not obligatory. If someone forgets and cuts their nails or hair, their sacrifice remains valid. The discussion also covers rules for pilgrims performing Hajj, distinguishing between the Eid sacrifice (Udhiyah) and the Hajj sacrifice (Hady). Pilgrims performing only the Hajj sacrifice can cut their hair and nails during these days, while those also performing the Eid sacrifice should follow the same guidelines as others intending to offer a sacrifice. Urdu Narration: Rulings on Cutting Hair and Nails in Dhul-Hijjah - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi

Continue Reading: Video: Rulings on Cutting Hair and Nails in Dhul-Hijjah - Mufti Umar Shafiq Hijazi (Urdu, English) - The Clear Evidence The Clear Evidence

Entry in Makkah City on Personal Transportation Stops from 2nd April for the Month of Ramadan (English)

The Clear Evidence The following text was published on 2nd April 2022: The citizens/residents of Saudi Arabia, performing Umrah, are not allowed to enter Makkah city on personal transportation from Saturday, 2nd April 2022 (1st Ramadan 1443H) till Eid ur Fitr, to manage traffic in Makkah city during the month of Ramadan. Car parks (also known as Hajj parking) have been arranged on all major routes to Makkah. An official shuttle bus service is available from all car parks to Haram. The cost of the ticket per person is SAR 18.4. Tickets can be purchased while entering the parking. This restriction applies to anyone in Ahram thus the people without Ahram can still enter Makkah. This was a common practice until the month of Ramadan in 2019 but had to be changed in 2020 due to COVID. Although this method is mandatory for managing traffic in Makkah, it is not very convenient for people with luggage going to hotels or people in a wheelchair. Be careful not to try to bypass these checkpoints as people have been penalized for doing that. The buses from Haram for returning to parking might not be available during the prayer times. Audio Book: Rulings about Slaughter (Eid Sacrifice) - Second Edition (English)

The Clear Evidence First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah: Allah has sworn by the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah in the Quran (By the Dawn. By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah) Sura Al-Fajr, Verses: 1-2). This shows that the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are of great importance in Islam. The important rite of Hajj i.e. ‘Wuqufe Arafah’ is also performed in these ten days, which is the day of acquiring the greatest blessings of Allah. Thus, after Ramadan, there is the best chance to attain the success in the Hereafter in these days. Therefore, in these days, worship Allah as much as you can, do His Zikr, observe fast and offer sacrifice. There are special virtues of worshipping in these days which are mentioned in Ahadith, out of which I am describing some Ahadith below: ❖ It is reported from Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “On no other days are good deeds more liked by Allah than on these ten days (i.e. the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” (Sahih Bukhari) ❖ It is reported from Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “No other days are considered more virtuous by Allah than these ten days, therefore, you should recite Tasbeeh-o-Tehleel and Takbeer-o-Tahmeed in abundance.” (Tabraani) ❖ In these days, everyone should try to recite Takbeer-e-Tashreeq as much as possible. The kalimaat (wordings) of Takbeer-e-Tashreeq are: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Illallahu Wallahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa lillahil Hamd. Fasting on the Day of Arafah: Hazrat Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad ( صل الله ع ي لل ل ) said: “I am strongly hopeful that Allah will forgive the sins of one year before and one year after for those who observe fast on the day of Arafah. (Muslim) The above Hadith clearly states that fasting on the day of Arafah leads to the forgiveness of sins of one year before and one year after. Therefore, we should pay especial heed towards fasting on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah. But the question arises as to whether the people of India and Pakistan should fast on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah according to their calendar or according to Saudi Arabia on the day of Hajj. Generally, there is difference of one day in the lunar calendar between Saudi Arabia and India and Pakistan. First of all, I would say that many Hadiths mention the special virtue of fasting between the first Dhul-Hijjah and the 9th Dhul-Hijjah. So, the best option is to fast on both days. But if a person wants to observe only one fast, then there is a difference of opinion among the jurists and scholars as to which day the fast should be observed. Since there are different opinions, it is permissible to follow any of the two views, because fasting on the day of 'Arafah is not obligatory. It is Masnoon. Our scholars believe that the people of India and Pakistan should fast on the 9th day according to their regional calendar, because like Eidul-Fitr, Eidul-Adha and Ashura, we should follow the regional calendar for fasting on the day of Arafa. However, instead of arguing over this issue, we should be flexible and should not try to impose one’s opinion on other. It worth to mention that since the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions to Madinah, the Muslims could not perform Hajj due to the occupation of Makkah by the infidels. US has been Found Spying on Muslims Again through Prayer Apps on Android (English)

The Clear Evidence A data collection code has been found in several Muslim Prayer Apps on the Google Play Store, which was used to spy on Millions of ordinary Muslims around the world. These apps included Al-Moazin Lite (Prayer Times) and Qibla Compass – Ramadan 2022 with over 15 Million downloads. The apps were collecting rich data including precise location information, email and phone numbers and passwords when users used a “cut and paste” feature. The SDK could also view hashed data from WhatsApp image folders and even pull data about nearby computers and mobile devices, potentially mapping out who people meet with on a regular basis. The code was added by a Panamanian company Measurement Systems, which is linked to a Virginia defense contractor, that does cyberintelligence work network-defense and intelligence-intercept work for US agencies. Measurement Systems paid developers around the world to incorporate its code. Measurement Systems claimed developers could earn anywhere from $100 to $10,000 per month as long as they delivered enough users with apps accessing location data. The two researchers who found this code, considered the code to be the most privacy-invasive SDK they have seen in the six years they have been examining mobile apps. They said that without a doubt it should be described as malware. After this finding, Google removed these apps from the Google Play Store on 25th March 2022. But the apps will be allowed back on the store when the spying code is removed. This means, there won’t be any legal actions against any of the involved parties and similar apps can potentially use similar techniques in the future, amid no fear. This is not the first time the US has been found spying on ordinary Muslims around the globe. Back in November 2020, the US was found purchasing location data of Muslims from the Muslim Pro app, with over 98 Million users. It is among the most famous apps used by ordinary Muslims. Although the US government makes a huge hue and cry against China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, etc., but again and again they have been found using similar techniques to spy on ordinary people and intrude on user privacy to ensure modern slavery. It’s a reminder to all Muslims to be careful as they are being monitored 24/7 by even so called democratic governments. Impact of Your Negative Emotions on Your Children - Nauman Khan (English)

The Clear Evidence Corporate world and soft skills training teaches us the importance of feedback. Using this learning, I asked my 5 year old what he disliked about me the most. He responded spontaneously, “when you and mother argue about something”. I asked him again if there was anything else he disliked about me, he responded, “when you scold me and it’s not my fault, that makes me angry”. I asked again but there was nothing else he disliked about me. I appreciated and thanked him for his responses. Before taking this feedback, I was expecting a complaint about my busyness; that I was unable to play and spend enough time with him but that did not come out to be an issue. He somehow, at this age, understood my time limitations. He only complained about my negative emotions, which were in my hands, which I could change. My wife and I hardly argue and I scold my son extremely rarely but still, these had the biggest negative impact on his life. I cannot even begin to imagine how badly those children’s brains are affected, whose parents argue/fight regularly or who scold their children just because they can. I encourage you all to take feedback from your children. Ask them what they dislike the most about you? This should not lead to discussing the answers or clarifying your position. Just take the feedback and ponder over it in your spare time. Let me and everyone know what you found out, we might find a pattern that can help us all. #feedback #negativeemotions #selfawareness #selfimprovement #children #childsafety #childhoodtrauma #childcare #change Discussion at LinkedIn: Impact of Your Negative Emotions on Your Children | LinkedIn Continue Reading: Impact of Your Negative Emotions on Your Children

Rulings on Iddat / Iddah (Waiting Period) – Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi (English)

The Clear Evidence A lady asked: Can you please share some information (in the light of Quran’O Hadith) regarding Iddat both in case of Khula and in case of Talaq? Will be thankful to you. Answer by Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi Issues of Iddat (Waiting Period) Meaning of Iddat: literally, the meaning of “Iddat” is to count, whereas “Iddat” in the Islamic Shari’ah, is a fixed period within which the wife, due to the death of her husband, or divorce/repudiation (redemption) that results in the separation of both the spouses, is bound to observe some legitimate provisions. Owing to difference in natural conditions of a woman, waiting period is varied, whose detailed discussion is mentioned below. Legal Status of Iddat (Waiting period): In the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, the Muslim Ummah is agreed that because of death of husband, or divorce or repudiation (redemption) and consequently being husband and wife separated, Iddat (waiting period) is obligatory (enjoinment) on the wife. The waiting period is obligatory for two reasons: Death of husband: Divorce or (Repudiation) Redemption:Iddat (waiting period) is the pursuit of pleasure and contentment of Allah the Exalted. As, because the obedience of Allah’s commands is worship and worship is a means for nearing to Allah. The most important purpose for enjoinment of Iddat is to ascertain the fact that there is no effect of the former husband in the uterus, so that no doubt should be there in the child’s ancestry. Since marriage is a great blessing of Allah, this is why, upon its breakage, Iddat (waiting period) becomes due. For knowledge and cognition of lofty goal of marriage, Iddat has been obligated, so that it is not considered a child’s play by a man. Due to the death of husband, a gap and vacuum which is created in the home and family, Iddat is made obligatory for wife to keep his remembrance for some more time. In case, the wife is not pregnant and her husband dies, then her Iddat (waiting period) will be 4 months and 10 days, whether she is menstruating or not, whether she has genuine sexual intercourse or not, as Allah the Almighty says in the holy Qur’an: وَالَّذيْنَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَ يَذَرُوْنَ أَزْواَجاً يَّتَرَبَّصْنَ بِاَنْفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَّ عَشْراً And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind – they, (the wives, shall) wait four months and ten (days). (Baqarah 234). If the wife is pregnant at the time of her husband’s death, then the waiting period will end upon the delivery of the baby, whether its period would be less than four months and ten days or more than that. As Allah the Exalted said in the holy Qur’an: وَأُوْلاَتُ الأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَّضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ (al-Talaq: 4), and for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. How to offer the Prayer of Need (Salaatul Hajah) - Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi (English)

The Clear Evidence Salah is the biggest source for establishing relations with Allah, and asking for one’s needs. Allah says in His Holy Book: Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 153O believers! Seek comfort in patience and prayer. Allah is truly with those who are patient. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 45And seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, it is a burden except for the humble Surah Al-Ma’idah, Verse 12Allah made a covenant with the Children of Israel and appointed twelve leaders from among them and ˹then˺ said, “I am truly with you. If you establish prayer, pay alms-tax, believe in My messengers, support them, and lend to Allah a good loan, I will certainly forgive your sins and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow. And whoever among you disbelieves afterwards has truly strayed from the Right Way.” When we face any difficulty and trouble we should keep patience, and establish relation with Allah by offering Salah with intense care. Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) faced any difficulty, he would at once turn to Salah. As it is mentioned in a Hadeeth: Huzaifah (RA) said: “Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) faced any difficult situation, he would hasten for Salah with intense care.” (Abu Dawud, Musnad Ahmad) Besides five times Salah, the Prophet (PBUH) used to perform Salatut Tahajjud (Salah offered at midnight or any time at night before the Dawn), Slatul Ishraq (its time begins twenty minutes after the sunrise), Salatudh Dhuha (its time begins after the sunrise and ends at the meridian (Zawale Aaftab), Tahiyyatul Wudhu (thanksgiving Salah after the completion of wudhu), and Tahiyyatul Masjid (thanksgiving prayer after entering into the mosque). Whenever there was an earthquake or wind storm, the prophet (PBUH) would go to the mosque and start offering Salah. When he faced starvation or any other problem, he would go to the mosque. When he came back from a journey, he would, first of all, go to the mosque. So, we should take special care of Salah, and if we face any trouble, we should seek help through Salah. How Muslim Scientists Shaped the Modern World 1,000 Years Ago - Nancy Marie Brown (English)

The Clear Evidence The Scientist Pope – Nancy Marie Brown I was introduced to The Scientist Pope through an act of grace. Writing a book about an adventurous Viking woman, I made an imaginary pilgrimage to Rome just after the year 1000. Wondering which pope Gudrid the Far-Traveler may have met, I discovered Gerbert of Aurillac, who served as Pope Sylvester II from 999 to 1003. I was astonished. Nothing in my years of reading about the Middle Ages had led me to suspect that the pope in the year 1000 was the leading mathematician and astronomer of his day. Nor was his science just a sidelight. According to a chronicler who knew him, he rose from humble beginnings to the highest office in the Christian Church “on account of his scientific knowledge.” I felt as if I had stumbled into a parallel universe, an alternate history of the Middle Ages. So I began writing another book, to share the story of The Scientist Pope. A professor at a cathedral school in France for most of his career, Gerbert of Aurillac was the first Christian known to teach math using Arabic numerals. He devised an abacus, or counting board, that mimics the algorithms we use today for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. It has been called the first computer. Gerbert made sighting tubes to observe the stars and constructed globes on which their positions were recorded relative to lines of celestial longitude and latitude. He (or perhaps his best student) wrote a handbook on the astrolabe, an instrument for telling time and making measurements by the sun or stars. You could even use it to calculate the circumference of the earth, which Gerbert knew very well was not flat like a disc but round like an apple. All of this science Gerbert learned as a youth living on the border of Islamic Spain—then an extraordinarily tolerant culture in which learning was prized. In the caliph’s library in Cordoba were 40,000 books; Gerbert’s French monastery owned fewer than 400. Many of the caliph’s books came from Baghdad, known for its House of Wisdom, where for 200 years works of mathematics, astronomy, physics, and medicine had been translated from Greek and Persian and Hindu and further developed by Islamic scholars. In the world Gerbert knew, Arabic was the language of science. Much of what Gerbert taught at his cathedral school in France, for example, was derived from the works of Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, a Persian scientist in Baghdad’s House of Wisdom. In the early 800s, al-Khwarizmi wrote a book on what we call Arabic numerals: He named it “On Indian Calculation,” well aware that the symbols 1 to 9, and the place-value system that makes arithmetic easy, originally came from India. Modern algebra comes from a second book by al-Khwarizmi: You can thank him for quadratic equations. Al-Khwarizmi’s own name gives us the word algorithm, without which no computer scientist could function. His third book is a set of star tables, in which he uses trigonometry, spherical astronomy, and other advanced math to calculate the changing positions in the heavens of the planets, sun, and moon. Finally, al-Khwarizmi wrote a treatise on the astrolabe, which was the most important scientific instrument until Galileo invented the telescope in the 17th century. I invite you to reinvent the priorities in life, reinvent yourself for your betterment and for the betterment of others around you. I will end this video with a story: One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.” – Story by Loren Eiseley #impact20 #indichallenge #indi_hmd6z

Cost of Hiring a Wheelchair in Masjid Al Haram, Makkah (English)

The Clear Evidence I asked a few people about the cost of hiring a wheelchair with an official helper in Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah, for Tawaf and Sa’ee. Here are the responses I received: Abdul Jaleel: “I used without helper and it was SAR 50. With helper may be around SAR 100 i guess” Usman Arshad: “Last month I paid SAR 200 for both Tawaf and Sa’ee” Muhammad Affan Butt: “Rate is not fixed, range is from SAR 150 to SAR 200 on average, based on crowd and season” Sajjad Riaz: “Last time i paid SAR 150” Abu Bakr Farooq: “I have used it for Sa’ee for my kids, cost around SAR 70” Sabih ur Rehman: “On the 3rd floor of Haram, if you go from near Safa in Sa’ee area, you will find a small office for electric wheelchairs, from there you can get an electric wheelchair for SAR 50 for either Tawaf or Sa’ee and if you would like to take for both Tawaf and Sa’ee then it will cost SAR 100” Muhammad Nasir Khan: “We found unofficial helpers with wheelchairs just outside our hotel, they provided complete umrah service from hotel to hotel for SAR 100 per wheelchair” An internet search revealed the following: Marwan Asmar: “I hired a wheelchair and a uniformed attendant, provided at a cost of 200 Saudi riyals that goes towards the upkeep of the Haram.” Omar: “In Masjid Alharam there are two kinds of wheelchairs: 1) Regular wheelchairs (no driver): there are more than 10,000 wheelchairs dedicated to elderly people free of charge, and all you need to do is to register your information at wheelchairs office and they will hand it to you under one condition that you return it to the same place. There are two offices just outside Haram, one on the east side and the other on the west side. You can ask any staff there to guide you to its location, ask for a free wheelchair or in Arabic “Araba Majanan”. Note: most hotels nearby Haram provide their guests with a wheelchair (free of charge), maybe you need to communicate with your hotel to check their availability beforehand. Connecting Voluntary Blood Donors with Recipients – RedDrop.pk (English)

The Clear Evidence This initiative was launched by a friend of my university senior: At RedDrop, we have a simple objective; creating a channel between blood donors and recipients, to ensure that each has their requirements fulfilled in an effective and efficient manner. We register Blood Donors based on their basic information and contact details, which we verify in order to ensure transparency and improve reliability. Blood Recipients follow a similarly simple and easy process. They are required to fill out some necessary forms; once the information they provide has been authenticated, the request forms are propagated through various channels to ensure that they are met with the most number of suitable matches within a certain defined locality or radius. In order to generate maximum possible leads, we propagate these forms using a variety of platforms such as App Notifications, SMS, Facebook and Twitter, along with other locally designed channels. RedDrop was launched in October 2016 by two friends, Imran Mir and Atif Nauman. It was freatured on Footprints: Blood bank of a new order – Newspaper – DAWN.COM and RedDrop can save lives – The Nation. Muslim Community United During Ramadan: A Sign of Hope in COVID-19 Times – Giorgia Rapella (English)

The Clear Evidence – Small but vital acts of kindness prove anyone can make a difference. With restrictions and social distancing measures being implemented across Middle Eastern countries, Non-government organisations and charities alike are finding alternative ways to help the less fortunate. As Ramadan tents have been suspended outside mosques, donors have resorted to online platforms to support the community and fulfill their religious offering (Zakat). Nauman Khan, a Pakistani expat, who has been living in Saudi Arabia for the past 10 years, established The Clear Evidence platform in 2018 with the purpose of raising awareness on Islam practices and fundraising projects. This year alone the website registered a 20% growth in contributions compared to 2019 during Ramadan. “The support has been overwhelmingly positive. Donations have reached an all-time high since many have turned to remote means of offering during lockdown” says Nauman. Other members of his family have also been actively involved within the charity initiatives. For example, his cousin Zeeshan, currently in Islamabad, has been providing food packages to low middle-class families experiencing job losses and income reduction due to the pandemic. Thanks to online donations and help by personal connections, he has been able to provide support for more than 800 households so far. “I could not sleep for days hearing stories of educated people struggling to provide food for their kids. The pandemic has created an unprecedented number of unemployed, who by the nature of their occupation are not eligible to receive Zakat … I knew I had to do something” said Zeeshan, while remembering the past month spent delivering rations in a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) suit. Being his first time as an active charity worker, he does not hide the difficulties of volunteering during COVID-19 times: “During Ramadan, the food requirements and prices increased…budget raised due to costly products such as dates and sweet drinks. Having to deliver packages while fasting was challenging along with prioritizing everyone’s health and wellbeing. Our efforts, although, have not gone unnoticed; it feels amazing receiving the prayers of those we could help and the ongoing support of strangers.” said Zeeshan. In light of the unexpected achievements, more projects are set to kickstart and continue over the course of months and possibly years, at the occasion of future Ramadan celebrations. “My intention was to create a platform on Islam accessible to everyone, but as a community, we have created so much more. The past weeks have been a mix of emotions; it can be hard getting to personally know the suffering of those in need, but it feels incredible seeing others joining forces for the cause. I feel proud and hopeful for the future” says Nauman. Giorgia Rapella is a Journalism and Public Communication student at the University of Technology (UTS), Sydney. Request for Donations for School in a Bus for Syrian Refugees - Read Foundation (English)

The Clear Evidence None of us wishes for war and conflict, it is something that scars the earth and the people that unfortunately get caught up in it. Because of the conflict in Syria, which started nearly 10 years ago, an entire generation of children have missed out on an essential upbringing and education. This conflict will not only impact them now but for many years to come. We simply cannot stand by and let this happen. These children need a lifeline and Alhamdulillah Read Foundation is able to provide at least one of those lifelines. Read Foundation is on the ground in the Beqaa refugee camp, which I myself have visited in Lebanon. It is saving lives and also educating young minds in the process. I am proud to announce that Read Foundation has developed a school in a bus that caters to 300 children and provides them with the tools they need to learn and develop. These children are given books, learning materials, a mobile classroom with screens and Interactive whiteboards and they’re also given daily food, face masks and regular temperature check, due to the COVID pandemic. I urge you especially during this blessed ten days to give whatever you can. This is the best Sadaqa Jaria, providing to orphans and providing to the underprivileged children for the conflict in Syria, providing education and helping them to get through this difficult time. For just 30 pounds a month, that’s just a pound a day, you can provide valuable education, shelter, food and provision for a valuable orphan today. Simply visit readfoundation.org.uk or call 03000 121 121 now. Education is a fundamental right for anybody. Not only does it benefit individuals economically it also contributes positively to society. More importantly, it gives a child a ray of hope for a better future. The School in a Bus project looks to work within the difficult environment of the refugee camps and revive education for many Syrian refugee children. It has been reported that half of the Syrian refugee children aged 3 – 18 are out-of-school and denied a basic right because of the country’s upheaval. Human Rights Watch has stated that 210,000 school-age refugee children are in donor supported schools, illustrating how donor support is vital to the education of a Syrian refugee child in a time where other systems have failed them. The project aims to give 300 Syrian children aged 6 – 14 basic literacy and numeracy skills in conjunction with Lebanese educational standards and curriculum. The aim is to enable children to continue into the Lebanese education system. The Ruling of Qadha (to make up the missed) Salah in Islamic Shari’ah - Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi (English)

The Clear Evidence Ulama of the Muslim Ummah agree that it is a big sin to skip Salah deliberately. The sin of skipping Salah is greater than adultery, theft and drinking wine. One should ensure that all his Salah are offered on time, and if he, sometime, could not offer Salah on time, he should make Qadha of that Salah immediately. It is our and our Ualama’s responsibility to try our best to make, every person of the Muslim Ummah, punctual to offer Salah on time, and our Salah should be offered with all solemnity and full submissiveness because it is the only key for our and all mankind’s success in the Hereafter. As the Creator of the whole Universe has said in Surah al-Muminoon, (1-11). What is the Shari’ah ruling in the light of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah about the people who fully neglect Salah or they offer only Friday and Eid Prayers or offer Salah without punctuality? A well-known Saudi religious scholar Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih al-Othaymin (RHA) in his book “HukmuTaarikis Salaah (ruling of one who neglects the prayer)”, has quoted the different opinions of Fuqaha and scholars: Imaam Ahmad bin Hanbal (RHA) said that the person who neglects the prayer with no excuse is a Kaafir (disbeliever) and he is beyond the pale of Islam. And his punishment is to be killed if he does not repent and does not offer Salah regularly. Imam Malik and Imam Shafa’ee see that he is not a Kaafir but he would be killed. Imam Abu Hanifa (RHA) says that the person doesn’t become Kaafir, but he should be imprisoned until he starts to pray or would die there. Though offering Salah on time is especially emphasized in the Qur’an and Hadeeth, in spite of that sometimes a person misses Salah, sometimes due to forgetfulness, sometimes for some excuse and sometimes only for laziness and carelessness. In the light of the sayings and the actions of Prophet (PBUH), the majority of Ulama, Fuqaha and Muhadditheen agree that all the missed Salah should be made up by offering their Qadha. The Prophet (PBUH) said several times that if a person could not offer Salah on time, he should offer it later. To keep it short, I am mentioning only one Hadeeth which is reported by Bukhari and Muslim. It is reported by Anas (RA) that if anyone forgets a Salah then he should offer it immediately when he remembers it, and there is no Kaffarah (expiation) for that except it, Allah says: Establish Salah for my remembrance” (Bukhari and Muslim). In some narrations, the words of Hadeeth are as follows: “If anyone forgets a Salah or oversleeps then its Kaffarah is to observe it when he remembers it.” It is in a famous book of Hadeeth, Tirmizi that the Prophet (PBUH) said: If anyone forgets a Salah or oversleeps then he must offer it when he remembers it.” Note: Sleeping at the time of Fajr due to the habit of sleeping late night is a major sin. In the light of other Ahadeeth, the meaning of sleeping in this Hadeeth is that a person has adopted all possible means to offer Salah on time but coincidentally he could not wake up some day... Extract from "My Path to Islam: Australian Muslim Revert Stories" - Chapter: "Abu Bakr’s Way to Islam" (English)

The Clear Evidence Extract from “My Path to Islam: Australian Muslim Revert Stories” Chapter: “Abu Bakr’s Way to Islam” Page: 15-20 Authors: Tuba Boz, Shifa L. Mustapha Publisher: Goodword, 2004 The following is the true account of an Australian revert taken from the honours thesis of Sister Tuba Boz. His name is Abu Bakr, and while his name, like many of those of his fellow-reverts, is chosen for its meaning and its nearness to some aspect of Islam, or that of the life of the Prophet of Arabia, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), his story is truly that of an Australian young man with all his Australianism intact. And though he, himself, does not wish to be seen as other than a Muslim, it is, for fellow-Australians, encouragement and living proof of the Qur’anic ayat: Surah 49: 13” O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. “ If one had told Abu Bakr earlier, that he would one day become a Muslim, his reply would most probably have been, “Naah! No way!!!” for like many Australians his perception of Muslims was that they were terrorists. However, there is no accounting for the Mercy and Graciousness of Allah who leads to His Path those whom He wills from all peoples upon the earth; and Abu Bakr was to find this in due course. When asked what had triggered his search to find the true meaning of life, for that was the primary aim of his quest, his response was this: “There were a couple of things. It was the year my parents said they were going to separate. It was not the year they formally divorced, but it was the year my Dad moved out of the house. I went a little off the rails. I (even) had trouble with the police… I was drinking alot.” It may be seen that this was a painful time for this young man. This was to be further compounded, for it was in this year that one of his friends died. Of this event he said: “That led me to think, ‘There’s my mate. He just died, and he is only eighteen years old! Is he just worm food?’ You know what I mean. That’s when I started relating it to my life, thinking, ‘If I died tomorrow what would it matter? What would it matter except to the few who know me among the billions on this Earth?’ So I started thinking, ‘No! There has to be more. There has to be more than just this!”’ It was with these questions in mind that Abu Bakr commenced his journey, looking to religion for the meaning of existence. He describes his experiences in this way: “First, I mean, logically, I’m an Aussie, so I went straight to Christianity, and I thought I’d have that fish sticker on the back of my car, and “I love Jesus”. I was thinking I’d go buy them and see if they did something for my parking fine!” his waggish sense of humour bubbling to the fore. Then seriously he explains, “Honestly I went through all the (Christian) religions; well not all the religions, but the ones I had access to I investigated. Christianity, including Catholicism, I investigated quite a bit. But the problem was I just couldn’t find the answer. While they were all nice, I couldn’t sit there and say, “This is the religion for me! ’ and ‘This sounds beautiful! ’” His search continued: “I looked at Hinduism when I was working in a service station with some Hindu friends... Urdu Narration: The story of Abu Dahdah RA for donating his garden to seek the pleasure of Allah - Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi

The Clear Evidence The famous story of Abu Al Dahdah (RA) is as follows: Abdullah bin Mas’ud (RA) narrates that when a verse, related with qard–e–hasan, the fair and goodly loan was revealed, a Companion of the Prophet (SAW) from among the Ansaar named Abu Al Dahdah presented himself before the Prophet (SAW) and asked if it was true that Allah had asked for a goodly loan. When the Prophet (SAW) replied in the affirmative, Abu Al Dahdah requested the pleasure of holding the Prophet’s (SAW) hand to pledge his orchard of 600 date palm trees as the goodly loan to Allah. He later went to that garden and called his wife Umme Al Dahdah from outside its walls to come out with her household belongings as it had been presented to the Prophet (SAW) to fulfill the needs of the poor Muslims in the name of Allah. In Surah Al Hashr Verse 9, Allah has appreciated such people in these words: (Those who) give the others preference over themselves, even though poverty may afflict them. And whosoever is saved from his own avarice, such are they who are successful. Surah Al Hashr Verse 9And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul – it is those who will be the successful. AudioBook or Narration: Journey to Madinah & Visiting the Masjid of the Prophet (SAW) and His Holy Grave – Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi (English)

The Clear Evidence Medina holds a huge number of merits. Allah and the Prophet have accorded Medina an exalted place in their eyes. We should remember, that it is the city where the Prophet (PBUH) migrated to, lived in and rests there even today. Islam flourished here and reached to the far off corners of the world. Medina is also called ‘Taiba’ and ‘Taba’ which translates as ‘the pure place’. The reward for all the acts of worship increases to manifold in Medina. Let’s see how the Prophet himself praised the city: Ayesha (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, ‘O Allah, make us love Medina more than we love Makkah.’ (Sahih Bukhari) Anas (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, ‘O Allah! Bestow on Medina twice the blessings You bestowed on Makkah.’ (Sahin Bukhari) Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, ‘If a person patiently bears the trouble he has (during his stay in Medina), I will intercede for him on the Day of Judgment”, or said, ‘I will bear witness for him.” (Sahih Muslim) Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, “If a person from my people remains patient while facing the hunger and harshness in Medina and on the troubles there, I will intercede for him on the Day of Judgment.” (Sahih Bukhari) Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, “There are angels guarding the roads of Medina; neither plague nor Dajjal will be able to enter it.” (Sahih Bukhari) Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, “Whoever has the means to die in Medina, let him die there for I shall intercede on behalf of everyone who dies there.” (Tirmidhi) Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: “Belief (Iman) will return to Medina (near the Last Day) as a snake returns to its hole.” (Sahih Bukhari) Sa’ad (RA) narrated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, “None plots against the people of Medina but that he will be dissolved (destroyed) like the salt is dissolved in water.” (Sahih Bukhari &Sahih Muslim) Continue Reading: Video, eBook: Journey to Madina - Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi (English)
