About
After 4.5 years of embracing our stuck through my Stranded Phase, it's time we shift and decide to change our own narrative. For those who've followed along on this journey, this doesn't mean we won't be met with pain, we won't get hurt, or we won't go through transitional periods, it means its time we invite wealth into our life in all forms. A 2 year long healing journey has brought me here. Realizing that being RICH has nothing to do with money. Money is the by product. This long and necessary invitation that sent me searching inwards brought me to this season of finding happiness in being RICH in connection, RICH in community, RICH in soul, RICH in love, RICH in spirit, RICH in family, and so much more. From my EMDR therapist, to my relationship coach, to a brain surgeon, and my dear friends in business, I bring you guests that would be truly honest about growing, evolving, and dealing with personal and professional journeys at the same damn time. EP266: More Than Just a 7-Figure Dream: Authentic Entrepreneurship with Keila Hill-Trawick

Today we've got an incredible guest on the show - Keila Hill-Trawick, founder of Little Fish Accounting, host of the Fish Food Podcast, accomplished speaker, and soon-to-be author - and I am thrilled to be sharing this conversation because Keila and I are taking you behind the scenes of entrepreneurship, peeling back the curtain to reveal the nitty-gritty, not-so-glamorous side of running a business. We will dive deep into the foundations of authentic entrepreneurship and break down the myth that success in business is all about hitting that coveted 7-figure revenue mark. It's not just about the numbers; it's about staying true to your authentic self, building a network that genuinely supports you, and knowing your financial numbers inside and out. Keila also highlights the importance of staying true to yourself in business and building networks that allow you to be unapologetically you.  We will also talk about the importance of financial awareness in your business journey, because knowing your numbers is vital for making informed decisions, such as when to take breaks, pivot, or invest in your business. However, the ultimate message we hope to impart is to build a business you love, where your authenticity shines and you are supported by a circle that genuinely wants the best for you. So, stay tuned as we explore how you can create a business that aligns with your passion, joy, and authenticity, where your journey is defined by your own terms, not society's expectations. KEY POINTS  - The unglamorous side of entrepreneurship and moving beyond the 7-figure revenue myth - You can grow your business without getting bigger  - Why understanding your financial numbers is crucial; it's not just about making money but knowing where it's going - The importance of a genuine, intentional circle of friends who offer support, guidance, and a safe space - Hitting the 7-figure revenue mark doesn't guarantee happiness or success, so focus on what genuinely matters to you - Keila shares personal experiences, such as taking a 30-day break and reevaluating her business - The importance of aligning your business with your passion, creating a joyful and fulfilling journey - It's not about societal expectations; it's about your own terms and authenticity QUOTABLES  “If you made more money than you ever did this year but you felt miserable, why do you want to do that again?” - Keila Hill-Trawick “I don't want more clients. I want better clients for what I want to do.” - Keila Hill-Trawick “We tend to think of ourselves as beginners for longer than we're actually beginners.” - Keila Hill-Trawick RESOURCES Keila Hill-Trawick IG | littlefishaccounting LinkedIn | littlefishaccounting  Tune in to the Fish Food Podcast with Keila Hill-Trawick! EP3: Acknowledging My Negative Cognition through EMDR with Heather Holop

If you have followed Jess’s healing journey over the last years, you know your girl has got a little bit of trauma. And no longer wanting to live her life through a lens of pain, she did EVERYTHING to try to change that, from Reiki to hypnosis to therapy. But nothing could have prepared her for the things she uncovered through EDMR.   So in this episode, founder of Therapeutic Serendipity and licensed clinical social worker Heather Holop, joins the show to discuss what EDMR is, why it might be right for you, and how her own journey is one of the reasons she’s so great at what she does.    KEY POINTS: - What is EMDR? - Diving into Jess’s negative cognitions  - Why memories are not intrinsically painful - Are we lying to ourselves or coping? - Where do we go wrong with boundaries?  - “When are we healed?”   QUOTABLES: “It's always something deeper, but they just usually want to work on the stuff that's present. The stuff that’s, I call it, the crisis of the week. I call it chasing cows.” “Your brain stays so focused on the trauma that it doesn't like the truth. And the thought that we develop about ourselves in those moments is actually what is painful. It's not the memory, because the memory only exists in your mind.”   GUEST RESOURCES: Heather Holop, LCSW LinkedIn | linkedin.com/in/heather-holop-lcsw-27873012   Connect with Heather on a One-on-One session: https://calendly.com/therapeuticserendipity/15min?back=1&month=2022-10    PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: Love what you’re hearing? EP2: Why God Saved Me From Myself

Jess couldn’t jump into the next season without wrapping up the Stranded Phase and the last four years of her healing journey!   From episodes about the many masks we wear as women to learning the power of no to why shadow work is painful but necessary, the Stranded Phase was some of the deepest lessons of Jess’s life. But she isn’t stranded anymore, and neither are you!   Shedding light on her “energy audit,” tune in as Jess shares the most significant lessons exiting her stranded phase taught her. Now in the most confident season of her life, Jess can see why God put her lessons on ten speed - pushing her to evolve from the version of herself that was just not going to work where she is going now!   KEY POINTS: - If you don’t invite yourself to the next level, God will - Why everything is not for you to keep - Are you fighting for growth or your limiting beliefs? - The power of sisterhood and unconditional love in friendships - Letting go of surface-level awareness - How Jess became a better mom    QUOTABLES: “This was becoming my story. It was becoming my identity. It was becoming who I was. Every time I was looking for a message for the show, I was learning instead of moving forward, I was choosing to stay put because you can only stay stuck for so long.” “There's a version of you, a death of the ego, that has to occur. And if you don't invite yourself into that next level, God or the universe or whomever you serve will do it for you.” “Let me put you on a little secret. If you keep choosing not to do the work, and you keep waiting for the correct time for it to come, I promise you, it will meet you where you are most uncomfortable.”   PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: Love what you’re hearing? Rich In Real Life TRAILER

After 4.5 years of embracing our stuck through The Stranded Phase Podcast, its time we shift and decide to change our own narrative. From my EMDR therapist, to my relationship coach, to a brain surgeon, and my dear friends in business, I bring you guests this season that would be truly honest about growing, evolving, and dealing with personal and professional journeys at the same damn time.   Welcome RICH IN REAL LIFE

Doing Your Homework: How to Heal with Triggered AF

This episode flips the script as Jessica sits down with the Triggered AF podcast for a dose of her infamous vulnerability and raw honesty about just how hard healing and the journey from stranded to rich in real life can be.   Because let’s be real…healing sucks. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and it certainly isn’t linear. And believing we all need to hear and see that more, tune in as these three powerhouse women speak to the pain of breaking patterns, what healing work really looks like, and what their pain has taught them the most.    As they all know too well, “you are only as healed as your next trigger.”   KEY POINTS: - Healing is not a one size fits all process! - The catalyst that brought Jessica to her path of healing - Why breaking patterns can feel like dying 1000 deaths  - Do you like the person you are becoming? - What is EMDR therapy? And other effective healing modalities? - Mastering your shadows and investing in yourself   QUOTABLES: “The real work begins when you are isolated for a little while and you don't like who you're becoming. And you realize everything that you are allowing in your life, the people you're allowing in your life, are all rooted in your trauma. It's all a reflection. The mirror you're creating is just more trash.” “Pain is not a sign that something is wrong with you or that you are broken. Pain is an opportunity. It's an invitation for you to be like okay, something in my mind doesn't feel right; how can I address that.” “People always say ‘feel the feelings.’ But what they really mean is process the feelings. And in order for you to process the feelings, you have to allow them to live their lifecycle.”   GUEST RESOURCES: Like what you're hearing? Follow Triggered AF on social media and share the love! Is it necessary? - Can people really change for a relationship?   QUOTABLES: “Ideally, most of us are out here looking for a man on our caliber or better. We're like, either be at my level because I've done this hard work, or lead me to a higher level. Take me to the next level, right?”  “I had to change my definition of what being a man as the provider is. Because we always think ‘I provide’ is something physical or tangible. With the world obsessed with the perception of perfection and a highlight reel of success, where is the strategy or equation for peace, self-awareness, and growth?   Tired of having these conversations behind closed doors, Jess welcomes Emmelie Delacruz to discuss defining our own version of success rather than adhering to what society convinces us that we want. What makes you happy? And start living your dream life NOW!   KEY POINTS: - Why society’s definition of success often leaves us empty - Breaking away from traditional business values and the hamster wheel - Does what you say you want and what you’re actually doing align? - What are your values and what are you doing it all for? - Burnt out versus unfulfilled - how do you know the difference? - Happiness is a choice and existence, not an outcome  - Live your dream life now!   QUOTABLES: “We just keep feeding our egos because we think that's what's gonna make us happy. It is one thing to leave an abusive relationship, but it’s another to heal from it. Narcissist and abuse expert Shelea Daily was all too familiar with doing both but has since then been helping others deal and heal from their own narcissistic relationships. In this episode, Shelea sheds some light on Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) - Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder something you are born with or something you develop? How can you tell if someone you love is a narcissist? What do you do to heal from a narcissistic relationship? Tune in for a clinical perspective on NPD and inner healing, as well as how to own and embrace your trauma so you can truly move on from it.    KEY POINTS / MAIN TAKEAWAYS: How the Pain to Purpose project was born.   What is Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)?  The mechanisms behind someone with NPD. What to do when you start questioning yourself.  Understanding the fear behind leaving an abusive relationship.  How to speak to your inner child.  Meditation: How to create your own safe space.    QUOTABLES: “We cluster things to give labels to it so we can learn to treat it. Well, once you understand, like, this is toxic and it's not me, move on. Move on to healing. Don't stay stuck in reading books trying to understand a disorder that keeps you stuck. It is what it is.” “Are there some things I need to change? Some traumas I need to acknowledge? 1000%. But I don't want to take the situation and become somebody I'm not destined to be. And that requires me to process this shit - good, bad, ugly, and indifferent.”   PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: The Shadow Effect by Deepak Chopra   Visit Shelea’s website at https://www.sheleadaily.com/ Follow Shelea on Instagram @sheleadaily - https://www.instagram.com/sheleadaily/ Like Shelea's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/coachingwithshelea/   Love what you’re hearing? The Truth About Manifesting The Life You Desire

Do you believe in the ability to manifest whatever you want? Don't worry, this is coming from the worlds biggest skeptic because for the longest I didn't either. I always imagined the concept meant something like calling for a red bike and it showing up at your door seconds later. For only years later, after plenty of deep dives, and getting out of my own way I realized how powerful the ability to manifest truly is. So much so that in this episode I explain two instances where I manifested exactly what I wanted just by simply following a simple strategy I once read while I was trying to uncover the truth about manifestation. The good news? anyone can do this right now! I am here to help you understand that the universe Is always conspiring to give you exactly what you need to have everything you want, we just have to get out of our own damn way!

Taking Up Spaces of Power And Using Your Influence To Ignite Change With Caila Coleman

This episode IS A MUST!!!! It is truly about as honest as its going to get. The conversation I was craving on The Stranded phase and I am sure you are too was an honest one that I knew would make many uncomfortable. A conversation about racism, white people, colorism, micro-aggression, protesting, and what keeping this movement alive and well actually looks like WHILE talking about the history so many of us aren't aware of before we open our mouth. In this incredible episode we talk with criminal and family law attorney, Caila Coleman, about the Black Lives Matter movement. This is nothing of an incredible and vulnerable perspective from a black woman who is responsible for upholding the law. I sincerely wanted to hear the thoughts from people of color who were in roles where they were sworn to serve and protect and uphold the law while it feels as if most Americans don't.  In this episode, we discuss how even a woman who is responsible for serving and upholding the law deals with constant stereotyping and racism. We discuss colorism in the black community and how the law is different for darker skinned individuals.  Caila helps us understand micro-aggressions and how there are little limits to where they exist. She stresses to us that it is time to speak up but not to overpower the voices of those that are oppressed. Caila even discusses with us understanding your prosecutors roles and be careful who you elect into those roles and why it is so important for her to become a judge. From code switching to code words used to explain to black youth how to behave in public, this episode is to purely enlighten and one that EVERYONE involved needs to hear. My TEDx: The Ripple Effect of Mentoring

In April 2018, I had the opportunity to do a TEDx speech. When I asked my peers what I should discuss, they all responded with the same message, "talk about your passion for mentoring." The true power of mentoring is so important to me because a powerful mentor relationship at the age of 16 changed the entire trajectory of my life. I promise you, I wouldn't be here. That relationship and transformation led me to do it for other people. I even worked for non-profits for over 10 years that solely served at risk people of color around mentoring and programs to prevent them from the prison pipeline.  If you are looking for others way to directly impact lives right now, mentoring at a local organization may be an option. I am not saying this is the solution, it may just be one for many who aren't able to protest or are looking for a more direct impact.  And if you've ever thought about mentoring but feel like the invest of time wont equal a true transformation, I am here to tell you how far off you are. However, I encourage you to listen to this TEDx speech to truly understand how POWERFUL of mentoring a few people actually is.  Watch the full TEDx video on youtube here: The Ripple Effect of Mentoring Download "How-To" Guide to securing your own TEDx speech: How To Secure A TEDx Talk

A Letter To My Whitest Self

During a trying time, this may be the most vulnerable episode I ever produce. But all I could think of this podcast has been through my willingness to share my most vulnerable and STUCK moments with you in light that they may help someone. And the truth is, I was angry beyond believe when I saw what happened to George Floyd. In the coming days I had moments shortly after where I allowed my ego to silence me and became angered and triggered with every opinion. My journey through why I felt silenced and why I felt angry was something I had to work through on my own, so I openly give you my journal entry in this episode about acknowledging "white privilege" and how I had to own my role as an accessory to all of this.

Becoming An Ally: The Road To Making BLACK LIVES MATTER because enough is enough.

Now that we can all acknowledge how crazy this is, it's time to talk about next steps and solutions. But as a non-black or white person, what do you do? I get it, I asked myself this for days. This is only what I've researched and found. I do not discredit black opinions because we will have several black guests this week also asking them the same question. I also would like to encourage you to do the same, call your black friends and check on them and ask them how you can help. Everyone I wanted to chat with does not have a voice left from protesting. But this is one of MANY episodes this week regarding things I've pulled from to help answer your questions about what we can do NOW to use our #whiteprivilege to make sure our black friends and family are seen, heard, and most importantly protected during this time.  Lets not sit silent, but stand loud because we refuse to be neutral any longer. Listen in because here are some ways. In this episode, we discussed donating to bond funds and I promised to list them, here are some non-profit bond funds: https://brooklynbailfund.org/ https://chicagobond.org/ https://minnesotafreedomfund.org/ https://www.reclaimtheblock.org/home https://www.phillybailout.com/ https://www.detroitjustice.org/ & SOOOO MANY MORE!!

The WIN That Comes From Losing The Race With Rontel Batie

For most of us its hard not hear, "all I do is WIN" in the background.  We're taught losing isn't an option and that second place means failure. Even when we have enough sense to understand failing forward is the quickest way to learn and as most would say, "required in business," no one ever talks about experiencing ultimate failure. Lifelong dreams that are met with the highest expectations for years that you think about it so much that it would pain you significantly not to have it. What happens if you don't achieve it? what if there is no plan b? I couldn't think of a better person than my childhood best friend, Rontel Batie, to do is first interview about experiencing true failure. The kind of failure that leaves a temporary hold but a long term pain that will have you questioning yourself for years to come.  Anyone that knew Rontel closely, ourselves included, knew by this age Rontel would only be found in one place.......congress. He would be sitting high on capitol hill looking out for us, "little folks." We knew this to be certain because Rontel had been working on this for well over 14 years. Before we left high school, he knew. He knew he'd run for office one day. So he spent every waking moment as a senior in high school and every year after fighting for the only thing he knew he was created to do. Except, it didn't. In 2018, Rontel ran for congress and failed. He had to drop out before he truly got a chance because of broken promises and unworthy bank account. This was failure glaring him in the face. But what happened years after is what's remarkable and unexpected........it was something even Rontel didn't expect. This episode truly uncovers why sometimes failure even on a deep level can become one of the most remarkable redirections ever. The failure is really protection returning you to a more useful, powerful, and respected space. Sometimes you prompted to try again and sometimes you are being pushed to uncover what's in the other direction.

Tired of the coronavirus? Me too! I think we all are, but just like any butt whopping, it seems its going to last a little longer than we would like.  We are resilient humans with powerful souls that WILL come out on the best side of this. But in the meantime, in between time, we have to not only do our "due dilligence" when it comes to social distancing but also focus on getting unstuck. This is a calling for all of us to shift, the world is healing, we are being called as a collective to sit at home and do all of the things we always say we never have time to do. Let recognize this as the gift it is and prepare for a major shift in the world and our personal lives and purpose as well.

Ronne literally helped me elevate my confidence and keep in there.  Make sure you listen to this episode before you end 2019 so that you understand clearly that we all must start somewhere and be willing to suck!

Dating an Entrepreneur With Chris Bruce and Jessica Hurley

Get ready for a SPECIAL EDITION EPISODE with my fiancee' Chris Bruce, except this time he is interviewing me about every reason why we almost weren't able to make this relationship work. I don't know If I ever told anyone this, but the first 3 years of my relationship with my fiancee' I was dating a man I really didn't care to understand. I knew he flipped houses, I knew he was into digital marketing, I knew he loved to be spontaneous, and I loved him dearly. However, I didn't ever understand what he meant when he was constantly talking about "self-development and "fixing yourself." I often thought, "Why would I read self-development books if nothing is wrong with me?" Yea guys, I was that big headed. lol. Honestly, I just had no idea what a good look in the mirror looked like. I had no idea what taking responsibility and constructive criticism meant because all I knew how to do was create the high goals, check the boxes, be honored for them, and move on to the next.  It wasn't until 2017 that I really started to understand the value of self-development and the true power of walking the same path as my soon to be spouse and man was I missing out. This wasn't copying what he was doing, it was seeking my own journey that then allowed us to better understand one another. So join us today for a SUPER vulnerable conversation as we discuss contending for each others time, how my mindset almost broke us apart, and how much things have changed now that we are walking a similar path.

What Ignites Your Resistance?

Is it the idea of losing weight? Maybe it’s the idea of starting your own business? Or saying something you’ve never said or putting your voice out there? Or maybe you already have a business and you want to take it to the next level or maybe you’re already fit but you want to compete in fitness competitions now but something is holding you back? That’s RESISTANCE. Resistance is the reaction you have to subtle fear that grows and manifests and leads you to believe this thing isn’t for you.   I want you to listen to today’s 15 min Friday and consider the sighting of resistance to mean something else, that something big is coming and resistance is just blocking your blessings. It’s like “every new level, there is a new devil they say” and I want you to know every time you suffer from the feeling of resistance, it’s just the security guard, to the most beautiful version of yourself you could ever imagine.

25 Things Even Your Grandma Wouldn't Give You Permission To Do in 2019.

Scratch tradition, manners, and expectations, there are some things I want to get off my chest about being "realistic" and why those things don't need to follow you into the new year. 15 min Friday - Why You Need To Redesign What Success Looks Like

Last Friday we discussed recommitting to the goals that we fell short on last year and today we discuss re-evaluating our definition of success. It is too easy to get caught up in social norms and allowing them to define what success looks like until you look up after achieving everything and realize it is none of what you actually wanted. The key to success is creating the right goals, but if your version of success wasn’t the right one you could have been taking the wrong steps all along. Sometimes falling short isn't due to poor action, it’s due to having the wrong end goal in mind.  I hope you take the next 15 minutes to decide if you need to re-evaluate what success means to you.

The One Thing We Must Teach Our Children With BeeFriendly Founder Kristi Kennedy

In the month of December it's only right I do two things. Keep you in the know about what's going on in this crazy world and make sure I give you all the "feel good" content as we are in the holiday spirit. Today's episode focuses on something we've all dealt with before and ultimately can't ignore, bullying. Almost all of us have once been bullied and if you haven't you might've been the bully. My guest today, Kristi Kennedy, gets vulnerable with us about how her ex-husband once being bullied eventually turned him into the family bully. While this experience had quite the impact on Kristi and her children, Kristi used her experience to help others like her ex-husband and her by creating the BeeFriendly Network. The Beefriendly Network is an organization created to go into the schools once nominated by parents to help banish bullying for life, and they start as early as 6 years old. So if you have young children please believe Kristi will break down for you how this is already an issue. To my surprise we even discuss how there are so many types of bullying and most of us don't even realize we are being bullied. We also discuss how bullying extends to adulthood and those effected are in our workplace. Don't miss an opportunity to hear from a game changer like Kristi Kennedy!

15min Friday - Why You Fell Short on Your Goals This Year, And How To Re-evaluate in 2019

As we enter my favorite month, December, it’s time we get REAL about our plans for 2019. For this entire month, every Friday, my goal is to discuss something that will help you swing for the fences in 2019.   This Friday we are discussing your intentions and why you might not have got every one of those goals right from earlier this year. There’s a few important questions I want you to ask yourself when you re-evaluate those goals and intend to rewrite them and for you to consider that all of them may not be worth recommitting too.

Why "Being Yourself" Might Be Killing Your Growth

This is my attempt to debunk how we glorify "being yourself" as the answer to all of our problems. I absolutely know it to be true that developing "self-love" comes from learning how to love and be yourself.  However, I have too many times heard "thats just who I am" used as an excuse for not being able to achieve something, avoiding the authentic truth, or taking responsibility for their actions. I want to make sure as we work on self-discovery we understand that who we are may have to evolve sometimes to become who we want to be.

I don’t know where you’re at along your personal journey but regardless I know it’s key that you surround yourself with like-minded women by any means necessary. This year I’ve been blessed to meet several and ironically while we are all sharing similar blessings, we are all also dealing with similar issues with family, friends, and loved ones NOT supporting our journey. Rachel Burns and I talk about her journey as an entrepreneur focused on helping you understand the power behind working on your gut health. We also talk about the text message she received after a post went viral on Instagram from a close friend that wasn’t as supportive as one would expect. For the last few weeks, I’ve had SEVERAL female entrepreneurs reach out and ask me about similar issues and the answer is yes. You will have people who won’t support you simply because they don’t understand your journey. The Founder of Fearless Magazine on How Being Fearless Is The Answer To An Above Average Life with Arian Simone

Today’s interview is my inspiration! The very first female entrepreneur I ever followed on social media was Ms. Arian Simone. She has no idea, but her vulnerability and “never take no for an answer” type of confidence led me to believe I could too become an entrepreneur. She shares with us how she went from being broke in LA trying to make a way and sneaking herself into the BET awards just 11 years ago to becoming the founder of Fearless Magazine and throwing parties and running PR for the same celebrities she once snuck in to see. Her story is one of my favorites, she even talks about name dropping someone in an interview that she didn’t even know. Arian now has a clothing line, a magazine, two books, and hosts numerous women’s conference each year to empower other women to take control of their own destiny by being fearless in their pursuit. Don't sleep on your transformation PLUS LadyBoss Mastermind details

When my "One year ago today" facebook photo popped up this week, I couldn't believe the flooding feelings I felt about where I was at a year ago.   Just 365 days ago I'd just left the hospital from visiting my son at the NICU, we put a "2 month old" shirt on him and celebrated with kisses and taking photos. I then drove to Miami for work and dove head first into overwhelm and guilt the whole ride over. I felt like everything I knew had come to an end, the "preemie mom" I was about to become was going to be hard, and I had no idea how to bare the guilt of my sons health. I couldn't see a future anymore in those moments, I could barely figure out how to deal with tomorrow.  When I think back to those moments, I can easily recall saying last year was the worst year of my life several times. Know my worst year was jus 365 days ago is crazy and thats why I did this episode, because I am currently living "my best life" this year. I've never been this happy and never had more confidence in my abilities that I found this year. In this episode, I discuss the defining factor this year that helped me change and illustrate one of the best years of my life. We also discuss one of my recent goals I crossed off my list by crushing a women's mastermind this past weekend! Video details coming soon but it was so good we've already planned the second one. Trusting your Dopeness

Trust is EVERYTHING in a relationship they tell us. But what about the trust we have in our decisions, in our choices, with our faith that we will succeed, and even in the mistakes we make? It feels dangerous sometimes to be ourselves around certain people, but the problem is that those people are not the ones to blame. We must learn to trust ourselves and the way we handle “Not so hot” situations. I realized recently that the main symptom to us not trusting others is the lack in our ability to trust ourselves. Today we talk about why we don’t trust ourselves, how to discover when we don’t, and steps to rebuild our self-trust similar to how we rebuild trust in relationships with others.   T-shirt: @twoinspireco

How Millenials cut the Divorce Rate in half and how to Make Sure You Dont Loose Your Identity When Leaving a Relationship with Leanne Townsend

As we navigate the world to becoming “real adults,” our wants and needs change. Serious dating is important right now, and part of that formula includes marriage and sometimes the unfortunate reality of divorce. So weather your single, dating, or married this interview is insanely interesting about how becoming whole first is so important. With a 50% divorce rate being mentioned too often and hanging over our heads I’ve set out to talk to some experts. I talk with Leanne Townsend today, Family Law Attorney and divorce coach. We chat about Leanne’s very own stranded phase of finding herself stuck in her 40’s after dealing with her own divorce and losing her father. She even found herself struggling to stay “perfect” and resorting to things like drinking just to make it through the day. We talk a lot about judgement and how judgemental she admits to being before she fell into her very own stranded phase. Leanne has now stepped into her power and is helping women do the same after dealing with what is considered the #2 most stressful circumstance in life, which is DIVORCE. #MomLife: The Truth About Having My Son 3 Months Early

In honor of my sons 1st Birthday, I thought it was only right to open up about what happened a year ago. Since we are on the brighter side of things, and our son is healthier than ever I wanted to be vulnerable about this experience hoping it would allow someone else to open up who may be dealing with it or need help. Our son was unexpectedly born 3 months early and enter the word at an alarming weight of 2lbs. His rate of survival was unknown and all Chris and I had to rest on was faith.  Our son spent 82 LONG days growing up in the NICU. Milestones for us were when he had certain tubes removed, or he decided on a certain day that he would try a bottle. I can't believe looking back on those times, when Doctors were telling us Cameron had brain bleeds, needed blood transfusions, and would have vision issues forever that our son is doing so well now and suffering from NONE of those issues. If you or anyone you know has questions or has a preemie child, please send an email to, [email protected]. I am here to help mommies everywhere feel any sense of comfort during their time of need.

The Truth From A Fatherless Recovering Womanizer with Ismael Brown - Part 2

And God said, "Love your enemy" and I obeyed him and loved myself. Part 2, is all about self-love as we close on the rest of Ismael Browns amazing book, "My Own Worst Enemy: A Black Mans American Story."  We discuss my two FAVORITE parts of his book. A long letter addressed to his father where he apologizes for not asking for love and an entire chapter on his role as a womanizer.  Not pointing the finger outward and instead pointing it inward is where Ismael decided to make his biggest changes, even with the ones who hurt him the most. Ismael even explains how finding happiness sometimes is just shifting the pain.  For my ladies, this womanizer chapter is telling on all men. Ismael and I discuss culture and how it has damaged relationships but what women can do while right now when faced with these situations.  Ismael embraces all his insecurities in this final episode and we both ask if your listening that you do the same, we need to all own that having insecurities are NORMAL and it doesn't mean you cant love yourself. If you've dealt with a womanizer and are wondering why or searching for your happiness, Ismael gives you the blueprint in this episode. **If you know anyone dealing with or contemplating suicide please refer them to this episode as we both make a plea that you talk to someone because being stuck in a toxic frame of mind was real for Ismael as he attempted suicide once before.**

MASK OFF MONDAYS: The One Thing Women Need To Know That We Don't with Mike Nelson

Several ladies mentioned feeling stuck in their existing relationships or the difficulty moving on from a breakup. So instead of creating a "man hating club" I decided we should ask our men. So once a month I will bring to you an interview with a man asking questions you all have submitted to squeeze out the truth about our men. The first step to re-building and repairing relationships is to listen and understand. GODS PLAN: An Unfiltered Conversation About Living Through The Lens of Faith And Not Fear or Shame

In this episode, I am inviting you to join me for a very unique conversation with a great friend. Fair warning, this is not my normal podcast episode.  Last year, I built a strong relationship with GOD which was something I'd been longing for for a long long time. For the first 27 years of my life, I'd witnessed him work wonders in the lives of my friends and loved ones but yet I felt like I didn't know him at all. Through my good friend and guest today, Hilary Bolt, I learned the importance of having a spiritual relationship with him and how you should carry no burden alone. We discuss my journey to building a relationship with GOD in what I call the beginner phase and how we too often concern ourselves with how we are perceived from peer colored lenses. We both mention how your Faith will be tested when he's trying to remove you from living a life of fear and shame.  I know this episode will not be for everybody, but if your searching for more like I was or just looking for hope you will enjoy this episode. One thing I know for sure is FAITH is a requirement to get out of your stranded phase, and that is my only one goal for you.

15 MIN FRIDAY - My Tedx Talk Experience And The Truth About Our Most Desired Feelings

This is the first of my "15 min Fridays" episode. This is an opportunity for me to do what I ask of my guests and share lessons learned or vulnerable moments during the month with the intent you are able to gain something from it.  This Episode addresses everyones questions about my TEDx talk experience most recently. I talk about how much fun it was, the amazing people I met, the discipline it required of me, and the fast track to public speaking I was immersed in because of this experience. I also use the rest of the episode to get deep about a brief mental breakdown I had on the evening of MY BIRTHDAY last week. Even in my current state where I feel like my life is amazing 98.9% of the time, a recent podcast episode pointed out to me that I wasn't identifying the answer to the following question: "How do you want to feel when you achieve a goal?" Not accomplished, not confident, not intelligent, but the core feelings I desire the moment I achieve something big. Revolutionary concept if you ask me and when goal setting this is something I will implement from here on out.
