125. Nobody is "KILLING IT" All the Time

Maybe we don’t have to be “killing it” in all areas of our life all the time. Maybe it’s not even possible. Could it be that “killing it” isn’t the standard? Perhaps there are seasons of sowing, seasons of growing, seasons of harvest, and seasons of rest. Perhaps those “seasons” can even happen weekly. Some things are a cycle (laundry). Some things are interruptions (sickness). Our worth and position in Jesus doesn’t rise and fall with the seasonal or cyclical or interruption things.  We need to let ourselves off the hook of “killing it” and just live.

50. I'm not Lost--I've Grown! The Myth of Losing Yourself in Motherhood // How to Show Love and Respect to Your Husband and Kids when You don't Feel Like It

“I’ve lost myself—I don’t even know who I am anymore” “I put everyone else first, and I’ve lost myself in the process.” “You have to have your own life apart from your kids” “Being a mom is what you do, not who you are.” We’ve all heard these and similar phrases over and over on social media and from all kinds of people. Sadly, it’s in our modern culture to value independence and personal freedom over motherhood. We idolize the “maiden” and devalue the “mother”. I want to propose to you today that God has a better way. Question Time: How can you continue to show love and respect to your kids/husband when you just don't feel like it in the moment? Welcome to a short series on Homeschooling! What kind of images does the word “discipline” conjure up for you? Oftentimes we equate discipline mostly with consequences, but have you ever stopped to consider that the root word of “discipline” is “disciple”? In this episode, we will discover how to shift our focus from correcting our kids to discipling our kids, and that in order to do that, we have to be disciples of our Lord, Jesus Christ. 7. Quiet Times for Busy Moms with Jeanne Dillon

Do you love Jesus and long to spend time with Him, but find it hard with your full life with babies and little children? Mama, you are not alone! In this episode I interview a godly woman who has experienced this in her own life, and has a wonderful tool to share with us! She is none other than my mom, Jeanne Dillon! Jeanne has raised 3 awesome kids (if I do say so myself) to love the Lord, along with hundreds of others that she has discipled in her 40+ years of ministry. She was married to her husband Leroy for 50 years before he passed away, and together they were missionaries, ministry leaders, and pastors. They founded Transforming Hearts Ministries, a Biblical Counseling ministry, where Jeanne continues to see people healed, set free, and have their hearts connected through prayer, counsel, and inner healing. 6. Mothering with the Holy Spirit, AKA the fool-proof way to know what to do in any given situation

Friends! The free gift on my website is LIVE!!! 5 Ways to Increase Your Joy Level Today! www.kirstenvossler.com/freebies Have you ever noticed how wildly conflicting parenting advice can be? If you’ve read or listened to anything parenting-related for more than 10 minutes, you’ve probably heard conflicting ideas, and have felt a bit confused. But there is a solution! In my years of mothering, I have gotten a lot of help from wise older women, and from books, BUT they haven’t always been right at any given time. However, I want to share with you today a foolproof, never-fails helper that we all have access to if we are Believers in Jesus Christ: The Holy Spirit. Join me today as we discuss how we can hear the Holy Spirit, and learn to listen and apply what He is saying in our practical lives as mothers. You’ll hear a funny story about potty training, and how tickles and squeeze hugs saved the day not long ago. I answer the question “How have you gotten comfortable in who you are as a mom, which might be different than others?” I would love to answer your question on a future podcast! 3. Don't be a Grace-Hoarder

Did you ever have something you scrimped and saved because there wasn’t very much of it, and you were pretty sure that if you ran out you wouldn’t get any more? Do we treat the unfathomable, immeasurable, powerful grace of God like a commodity that is limited and needs to be rationed? The truth is, God doesn’t ration His gift of grace—He is not going to run out! 2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP John 1:16 AMP Titus 2:11-14 NIV Ps. 103:13-18 I answer a question from Nicole: How do you address teaching your kids things you yourself are maybe not yet good at (skills, character traits, healthy habits)? 2. The Little Things Matter

The seemingly basic, everyday things that we do, like washing little faces, correcting behavior, and laughing at dumb jokes, MATTER. In this episode we will learn that the little things we do for the littlest and the least ones, we are actually doing for Jesus. It’s easy to overlook things we are doing as unimportant or insignificant, but to our children and to the Lord, there is nothing too small to be precious. What does God think about you giving your life for your family? Matt. 18:5 Matt. 25:34-40 Matt. 10:42 Heb. 6:10 I answer a question from Felicia: How do you get little kids to help clean up stuff?  Submit your question: www.kirstenvossler.com/podcast For more encouragement on this topic, visit www.kirstenvossler.com/blog

1. This is Holy Work

Do you ever feel like what you’re doing doesn’t matter? Does is ever seem like your everyday life is insignificant? In this episode you will be encouraged that it all DOES matter—very much! In fact, if you are a mother, you are called and anointed for this work, and it is holy. Our normal, everyday mothering has purpose, and when we believe the truth that it is holy because God has called us to it, we get to tap into the fulness of the Spirit of God that enables us to do our work and do it well. Notes: Colossians 3:23 Exodus 35:30-35 Colossians 3:17 I answer a question from Rachel: Do you spend one on one time with your children and if so, how can I make that happen when I don't feel like a "fun" mom?
