Abolish The Draft

Coley comes up with the brilliant idea to abolish the draft for the NBA. Tyler was super against it. He was frothing at the mouth that it was even suggested. After that, Withers and the Mickman engage in nonsensical ramblings about nothing in particular for the following hour and change. And also tell you where we'll be this weekend.

Jimmy G Is Living Life Correctly x The Mickstape 50: 20-11

Kawhi is a Raptor! DeMar is a Spur! Marcus Smart remains a Celtic! Melo is a Hawk kinda! What does it all mean? Are the Raptors now favorites in the East? Are the Spurs sociopaths for not engaging with Philly? All that before we get into the important discussion: Jimmy G and Kiara Mia hitting the town, just two young kids in puppy love. We put our full support behind this burgeoning relationship and that's precisely when the train goes flying off the tracks for roughly an hour. Then, and I don't know how it took this long to touch on this subject: Velvet Milkman. Finally, the second to last installment of the Mickstape 50.

Mickstape: Shaq Sized Dumps Featuring Donnie Does

In honor of the MLB All Star Game tonight, Withers and the Mick Man give their All Time Starting 9s. Not necessarily the statistical best at every position, but the team they would trot out there to go win a couple two-tree baseball games, yanno? But before we get into all that, International Sensation Donnie Does joins us off top to regale us with tales from overseas including a legendary night out with John Salley, his rivalry with Stephon Marbury, a Shaq endorsements gone awry, and Delonte West getting sick eating street meat.

SCARY HOURS x THE MICKSTAPE 50 MEGA-EPISODE #30-21

Scary Hours returns as Terry Rozier talks about what he saw at Summer League this past week, the young guys who stood out to him, how bad he is at golf, how much Danny Ainge cannot cover him, and shares some thoughts on the new Future album before unveiling that he really doesn't like anyone in the NBA who doesn't play for the Boston Celtics. Afterwards, Withers and the Mick Man break down #30-21 of the Mickstape 50. An incredibly long discussion ensues as both have a run on point guards ranging from the original Mr. Triple Double to the Point God himself. At some point or another we also fixed American soccer. Not that it's an original idea but you're welcome for chiming in on the everlasting and ongoing discussion.

Summer League is in full swing and it is EXCELLENT. Free agency has hit a bit of a lull but luckily for us Kobe fans are acting like complete and utter weirdos. Coley and Tyler look up some random conspiracies to see what's worth digging further into. And finally: Future Hendrix dropped a tape last week and boy oh boy did we need it.

SCARY HOURS x THE MICKSTAPE 50 MEGA-EPISODE

To start the program, Withers and the Mickman spend some time debating 4th of July food vs. Thanksgiving dinner, which will surely make zero people mad. Then, Terry Rozier joins the conversation (00:19:12-00:54:05) to talk about free agency, not giving a shit about the Lakers rivalry even with LeBron there, the Celtics having a target on their back in the East, and Marcus Smart. Finally, we end the show on Part 2 of "The Mickstape 50." Where the first 10 had much overlap between Withers and Mick, #40-31 is where things start to go astray, including the most shocking pick by Tyler ever of all time.

Boogie Cousins: NBA Champion featuring @YC

First ballot Twitter Hall of Fame user and one half of "No Losses" @YC joined the program to talk a variety of topics ranging from music to the Knicks. We recorded that from 2pm Monday July 2, 2018, until 4pm July 2, 2018. Then we went home, prepared for the holiday, ate some dinner, laughed with friends, and the world decided to change FOREVER after DeMarcus Cousins decided to take a minuscule bag to join the Golden State Warriors because why the fuck not? This is, undoubtedly, the most chaotic timeline we could possibly be living in. Withers and the Mick Man try to build a team that could beat the Warriors while wondering why people love the Dream Team but hate seeing a better version of them that happen to play more games. Four hours just for you and your holiday voyages. Stay safe out there.

Terry is back to talk about playing at Dyckman for A Boogie's squad, what he meant when he called him the new Michael Jackson, Shane Larkin's over excitement for the new Drake album, who really should've won Rookie of the Year, what it means to be able to give back to the community that raised him, the Purge-like picture he paints of Cleveland if LeBron leaves again, and the Browns are going 9-7 this season you heard it here first. Also, last time Terry was in NY he ran into Joel Embiid in the club and things remained ice cold between them.

Two Celtics make their appearance on the episode and you'll quite literally never believe who brought them up. I'm serious, you're already wrong for your guess. The Mickstape 50 will continue every Tuesday until we reach #1, so like the next month. What a time to be alive. If you feel the need to argue over these selections, do so into the void. Scary Hours: Draft Day

It's Draft Day, a huge moment in exactly 60 people's lives. But what really goes into that process? How grueling are the workouts back to back to back in order to show something extra to a team that's considering drafting you? What's it like to know, "Hey, I really am good enough to get to that next level and play in the League?" Is there a better feeling than getting your name called on tv by Adam Silver? Luckily for us, we have Tyler to recount his call from the Orlando Magic back in '03 - a glorious day for the Withers family... Oh yeah, also Terry Rozier tells his whole story, starting with prep school and ending with jumping in the pool full clothed after getting the call from Brad Stevens.

The Celtics and Rockets Are No Longer With Us

The Celtics and Rockets, despite both being up 3-2 in their respective series, decided to run the "never hit any shots no matter what not even if there's a fire" offenses in Game 7s where they held double digit leads only to get shuttlecocked out of the playoffs. So it's Cavs-Warriors IV as everyone on the planet who has ever even seen a basketball expected. After we pay our respects to the fallen, we review the All NBA teams and create this year's 4th Team All NBA. The Celtics lost by a combined one billion points in Games 3 and 4 as the Cavaliers have forced this series into a best of three. The Warriors have already beaten the Rockets. It's technically only 2-1 but that series is over than over. I don't have anything funny or witty to say right now.

Withers and the Mick Man also try and figure out where the Raptors go next now that Dwane Casey has been let go. How do the Jazz improve their roster through trades? Was Playboi Carti's album a slap or a disc to break weed on? How much weed is Klay on for reportedly leaning towards turning down $50 mil? And should the 76ers trade for Kawhi and sign LeBron?

Ben Simmons is a coward who wont shoot threes. LeBron James gets to beat the Celtics one last time before he leaves Cleveland again. The Warriors get to beat the Rockets for shits and giggles. Has CP3 had a better career than Steph Curry? Some pundits say yes for reasons we simply do not understand. The WNBA regular season is quickly approaching and we're all the way in on this upcoming year. Also, the Philadelphia 76ers won a game against a team they were heavily favored against. No confetti was dropped for reasons no one quite understands. Should the Celtics be nervous? Do the Sixers have what it takes to become the first NBA team to erase an 0-3 deficit? Finally, Tyler reviews his first trip ever to Boston. What a wild ride for Whiskers.

3 Out Of 4 Of The Semifinal Matchups Are Actually Bad

There's one matchup with any semblance of intrigue while the Rockets and Warriors drub the Jazz and Pelicans. I guess the Raptors could, in theory, beat the Cavaliers but the Raptors also don't have LeBron James so ehhhh probably not. The Celtics and the 76ers series inspired perhaps the most heated debate between Tyler and Coley to date as they don't see anywhere remotely close to eye to eye in this series at all. We recorded in the afternoon just before radio started which explains why it's shorter than usual, and Dave strolls in for the final minutes to shockingly pick the Celtics to win the series. In the middle of the episode we also try and figure out where Donovan Mitchell ranks among players in the Western Conference after his rookie season, where he'd go in a redraft of the 2017 Class, and also if the Jazz would be better, worse or the same with Devin Booker instead.

The Blazers Are Dead Featuring Arian Foster and NFL Draft Expert Steven Cheah

Alright, I'm going to be upfront with you people - this episode is very good. There's just one minor problem: we recorded this podcast on the second floor of our office. Tyler is in New York and, despite recording at the exact same time every single Monday and Wednesday for the entire season, we were not given the studio to record today. Pretty rude. Because of this, we had to use three microphones in essentially a conference room. Withers sounds crystal clear. The Mick Man sounds crystal clear.... Arian Foster and Steven Cheah sound like they're miles away. But no worries, Arian is only on for about 15 minutes during the first half of the show and if you can't hear NFL Draft Expert Steven Cheah loudly enough during the second half, we'll just bring him on back in for Thursday's show. Despite the fact that there are two NFL-centric guests on today's show, it is entirely NBA Playoffs based for the first two hours. We talk about the Blazers being dead, why no one picked the Pelicans, Lance Stephenson being the troll gawd, the Celtics dropping two in Milwaukee, the Jazz jumping out to a lead against the Thunder, Whiteside's defense on Embiid, and all the rest of the goodness that's transpired throughout the first round thus far.

Mickstape: Whom Is Terry Rozier? Featuring Rone & Big Cat

Eric Bledsoe stinks and stinks out loud. Karl-Anthony Towns also, as well, has stunk loudly and oftenly. The Trail Blazers, in our humble opinion, should try scoring more points than their opponent once or twice just to see how it works out for them. And the 76ers lost? To the Heat? The Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia 76ers lost a game??? Tough to believe, tough to fathom, but it's true.

Mickstape: The NBA Playoffs Are Here, And They're Phenomenal

What a first weekend, huh? If the NBA playoffs are gonna be this good every single game from now til the middle of June then the NFL might as well pack up shop and call it a day. The Warriors, surprisingly, look fine. Chris Paul tried his damnedest to blow Game 1. The Wizards probably should've won Game 1, that was a big time misstep on their behalf. The Celtics needed a little bit of overtime to not lose to Giannis and Khris Middleton but dammit they got it done. The 76ers looked unbeatable, then... not so much. The Cavs? Buddy....

Super Special Weekend Bonus Podcast Edition

Hey. Hi. Hello. Welcome. Happy first weekend of the NBA playoffs, everybody. Now, we recorded this episode on Wednesday afternoon, so this episode actually has little to do with what happened Saturday, and some would argue even less to do with what's about to happen on Sunday. But don't fret! We talked about Tristan ThompsonGate, tossed around some hypotheticals for the NFL Draft, and called our shots for the Timberwolves getting into the playoffs and Russell Westbrook getting enough rebounds to secure that season long triple double. I assume we talked about other shit sprinkled throughout this but it's hard to say since it was recorded over three days ago. And also, mostly, because I am not very bright.

Are The 76ers About To Win The East?

Like... maybe? No seriously, the Cavs should win the East since they still have that LeBron James guy but the second best team in the East is absolutely the 76ers. No, it's not the Raptors. More like Craptors, imho. Maybe if the Raptors get some luck and draw the 76ers in the second round, but seeing as they're going to have to play the Cavs it looks like curtains for them earlier than they had hoped. But can the 76ers beat the beleaguered Celtics? Sure, why the hell not? The most intriguing Eastern Conference Finals matchup - by far - is the team with Simmons and Embiid vs. LeBron. As for the Western Conference playoffs: all 15 teams are still eligible for the 3 seed. No one will have any idea who is in the playoffs until the Wolves play the Nuggets on the final day of the season. ONLY THEN will we have even the slightest bit of a clue as to whomst is playing.

Shaq Remains Larger Than Life

I'm going to be honest with you, it's 3:30 in the morning. We recorded this show 12 hours ago. We talked about a myriad of things. I do not remember all of those things. I remember we talked about why littering is bad like some Captain Planet underlings at some point. We talked about how Shaq may be the most recognizable human being of all time. We mocked the Thunder for trading James Harden and breaking up potentially the greatest young core of all time. We tried to figure out a Kawhi trade. Alright at this point I guess I remember a decent amount of what we talked about. Coley yells at Tyler about Coach Of The Year for like 2 minutes max. And oh yeah, Ben Simmons is still really good.

Quin Snyder Run Away Coach Of The Year

JK LOL buddy couldn't even figure out how to break a 2-3 zone. Nerlens gets his name thrown around for a bit. Boogie gets talked about for a hot second. Tyler throws around some names for coach of the year while Coley becomes increasingly angrier. Are The Nuggets Going To Miss The Playoffs? Featuring Rone & PFT Commenter

PFT Commenter joined the show to defend his beloved soup. Rone joined the show at some point, I can't remember what he was rambling about, I'm pretty baked right now if we can speak candidly for a moment, but he said some things in English for all to enjoy. Jared Carrabis said he was a smarter human being than LeBron James, which Tyler and I feel to be wildly false. Andrew Wiggins said he's not comfortable being the third option in Minnesota, despite the fact he's not really the third option in Minnesota right now, so weird move by him. Over the weekend, many people became enraged on the web at Tyler for saying Karl-Anthony Towns is better than Joel Embiid, so that is heavily discussed at the top of the ol' show here. Devin Booker became the third faster player in NBA history to hit 4,000 points - what is his game going to look like in five years? Many people forget Anthony Davis is only a year older than Joel Embiid, people don't like talking about it but it's true. Whom of LeBron, Durant and Giannis is going to make the ALL NBA First Team? Quavo Mutombo Won All Star Weekend

All Star Weekend came and went and boy do we have plenty to talk about. And by plenty to talk about, we mean Klay being on Pluto the entire weekend, Quavo's athletic prowess, a star was born, Juice's dominance in the Rookie-Sophomore game, players actually trying in the ASG under the new format, Jimmy Butler being too drunk to play, the dunk contest judges fucking over Dennis Smith Jr., and why do crows get the designation of being called a "murder" when they're in a group?

Are The Cavs,,, Back??

Tyler thinks they have a better chance of winning one more game against the Warriors than they did prior to the trade deadline. Coley thinks they'll win the same amount of games against the Warriors but with more flair and pizzazz. Lou Will really might've fucked everybody's money up this summer. Why isn't Myles Turner talked about with the rest of the elite young bigs in the League? Karl-Anthony Towns was allowed more than 10 shots in his most recent game, we hope everything is ok with Thibs. How come we never got to take Shop Class in High School? The Big Time NBA Trade Deadline Preview And Stuff

The "and stuff" is important. Because while we talk about all things trade related, we also talk about Kristaps Porzingis' ACL tear, the Team LeBron Curse, the Cavs struggles, should Silver step in and make Houston-Golden State the Finals, "Peaky Blinders," and why we're more likely to listen to a new musician before a new stand up comedian. It's a big week. If any trades do happen at the deadline, we'll release another show tonight. Because you deserve it and we love you.

Coley and Tyler go into a deep investigation over James Harden's most recent outburst against some of the other great scoring outbursts in NBA history. We also broke down how Kevin Love's hand was really broken while wondering what Andre Drummond has to gain by coming at Juice. Tyler also makes his Super Bowl pick while if you don't already know Coley's pick you live under the world's largest rock. Coley and Tyler also make ominous and indirect threats towards the NFL Hall of Fame. It would be a real shame if Randy Moss wasn't elected first ballot. A real shame indeed.

We Recorded A 2 Hour Podcast And Then Blake Griffin Got Traded To The Pistons

Incredibly selfish move by Woj to wait until right after we finished recording yesterday to drop the biggest NBA news in some time. If you have complaints about the timing of this podcast coming out, direct them to him. This is his fault and surely not ours. John Wall also got hurt after we recorded, which stinks and stinks bad. Kobe Bryant Slander Appreciation Hour #1

The Lakers retired two numbers for Kobe Bryant last night, so we decided it would only be fair to roast that doberman pincher faced bum for approximately 40 minutes or so because we can and it would be nothing more than propaganda if the entire day was just one long jerk fest of the guy who literally tried to force his way to the pre-Blake Griffin Clippers just because he was having one of his many temper tantrums. The at best 17th greatest player of all time (at the time of his retirement) was celebrated across the web yesterday and frankly it made us sick, so kindly join us for the other side of the tale. The right side of history. I'm labeling this "The Kobe Bryant Slander Appreciation Hour #1" because I can only assume this is the first of many times we do something like this. Maybe you are a laptop consumer, or some sort of other weirdo or vagabond who refuses to adhere to the rules of modern society. To you I say, "A laptop is very much a mobile device. How they'd take up several rooms just to be able to print those sheets of paper that you had to tear the perforated sides off of yourself like some sort of common poor? We also debuted a new segment that isn't named in the show but I'm making the executive decision to name right here and now: Tyler Rants About Luka Doncic Being Overhyped For Approximately Three (3) Minutes. The Larry Siefert Memorial Episode

With only one episode left in the third season of the HBO hit series "Ballers," they did the unthinkable - the Dolphins fired GM Larry Siefert. Coley and Tyler memorialize this great man and all of his endeavors, but not until they hit on all of the big topics of the weekend - like Tyler discovering Early Earl Hebner's Twitter account, Yogi Berra being the original Tweeter, the internet slobbering all over Luka Doncic's weak dunk, football continuing to be bad, and Tyler drops an unexpected bomb on Coley to end the episode. Oh yeah, Kyrie hates on LeBron on live television and Kevin Durant's burner social media accounts are parsed through with a fine-toothed comb.

The ESPN Rankings With Rone And Story Time With Sekou Smith

To kick off the show, Young And Happy's Rone joins us to get mad, nude and red on the web about ESPN's Top 100 Player Rankings. Mostly because they make no sense but also mostly because they're bad and actually not good. After that hour of civil, polite, discourse, NBATV's Sekou Smith joins the program to break down his court-side view of the Malice At The Palace, watching Rasheed Wallace play in high school, T-Mac being the last true unicorn, and a whole lot more. Don't worry, it's not all basketball talk today, as Coley and Tyler found time to argue about whether or not corn is good for a solid 10 minutes in the middle.

We then stick with actual football being garbage to start the season and why Lamar Jackson is the best QB in the Nation right now. During the ad reads we break down how ridiculous life in America was in the 1950s for reasons I still don't understand before moving on to just how injured Isaiah Thomas' hip truly is. Tony Allen's signing with the New Orleans Pelicans broke while we were recording so we touch on their soon-to-be high profile offense before questioning what exactly certain people see in Nikola Jokic that made him shoot up the rankings this summer.

Pro Era Featuring Nyck Caution

Straight out of Joey Bada$$ clique, Nyck Caution drops by to talk about the future of his Knicks, LeBron vs. Kobe, how Westbrook and Paul George will mesh on the Thunder, and the responsibility of being a New York rapper. Before he joins, Tyler talks about why he absolutely will not be watching the new season of BoJack Horseman and why he remains unexcited about the upcoming NFL season. Coley rubs it in Tyler's face that he met Jon Taffer today, because Coley is a bad person. Not as bad a person as that sentient lard of curdled cottage cheese Jason Whitlock. But a bad person nevertheless.

Volume 29

CHARLES GREEN! No days off for Mickstape as there was plenty to discuss in the world of the hit HBO series "Ballers" including, but not limited to, Ricky Jerrett punching a frail rich white kid directly in the face, Charles Green vying for the Chargers GM job and Eddie George's cameo from the clouds. Also, Kyrie's finally actually a Celtic. Why are the Cavs trying to trade the Nets pick immediately? Why on Earth would the Pelicans trade Boogie now? But first: college football and why it's still bad. And, also, finally: LaVar Ball is going to take down the NCAA.

The Game of Life Featuring Dr. Dave Dameshek

Dave Dameshek of the NFL.com's Dave Dameshek Football Program joined us to preview the 2017 NFL season. That's true, he did join us to do that. But instead, we talked about: condiments, football games that happened anywhere from seven to 35 years ago, the best & worst uniforms in sports, Game of Thrones, waffles, how awful rock/paper/scissors is as a game, and whether or not cereal is a soup. You know, the actual important things in life.

After the intro like 40 minutes into the show, the Shaq diss track of LaVar Ball is played and broken down bar by bar, insult by insult, advertisement by advertisement. Kyrie and LeBron's beef is also hashed out before Tyler and Coley look back on how underwhelming the mid-2000s San Diego Chargers were.

I'm sorry for that wicked awesome upgrade. If you need a song for an outro go listen to "Good Times" by Thugger and Jamie XX. That probably would've been today's song if we're being honest with one another.) Now, the Big 3 denied credentials for our camera guy, so the audio on these interviews,,, well, it's audible.
