Scary Hours: The Browns Are Going 9-7

Terry is back to talk about playing at Dyckman for A Boogie's squad, what he meant when he called him the new Michael Jackson, Shane Larkin's over excitement for the new Drake album, who really should've won Rookie of the Year, what it means to be able to give back to the community that raised him, the Purge-like picture he paints of Cleveland if LeBron leaves again, and the Browns are going 9-7 this season you heard it here first. Also, last time Terry was in NY he ran into Joel Embiid in the club and things remained ice cold between them.

The Mickstape 50: #50-41

The first installment of The Mickstape 50, where Tyler and Coley give you their 50th-41st best players ever of all time. Two Celtics make their appearance on the episode and you'll quite literally never believe who brought them up. I'm serious, you're already wrong for your guess. The Mickstape 50 will continue every Tuesday until we reach #1, so like the next month. What a time to be alive. If you feel the need to argue over these selections, do so into the void. Perhaps jam your face into a pillow and scream your thoughts. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Whatever you do, do not direct them towards Withers or the Mick Man. We are not here to argue.

Scary Hours: Draft Day

It's Draft Day, a huge moment in exactly 60 people's lives. But what really goes into that process? How grueling are the workouts back to back to back in order to show something extra to a team that's considering drafting you? What's it like to know, "Hey, I really am good enough to get to that next level and play in the League?" Is there a better feeling than getting your name called on tv by Adam Silver? Luckily for us, we have Tyler to recount his call from the Orlando Magic back in '03 - a glorious day for the Withers family... Oh yeah, also Terry Rozier tells his whole story, starting with prep school and ending with jumping in the pool full clothed after getting the call from Brad Stevens.

The Celtics and Rockets Are No Longer With Us

The Celtics and Rockets, despite both being up 3-2 in their respective series, decided to run the "never hit any shots no matter what not even if there's a fire" offenses in Game 7s where they held double digit leads only to get shuttlecocked out of the playoffs. So it's Cavs-Warriors IV as everyone on the planet who has ever even seen a basketball expected. After we pay our respects to the fallen, we review the All NBA teams and create this year's 4th Team All NBA. Finally, Tyler was rather perturbed at the lack of respect Carmelo Anthony was receiving online, so we announce the Mickstape 50: coming to a podcast streaming service near you soon.

Basketball Is A Stupid Sport When You Really Think About It

The Celtics lost by a combined one billion points in Games 3 and 4 as the Cavaliers have forced this series into a best of three. The Warriors have already beaten the Rockets. It's technically only 2-1 but that series is over than over. I don't have anything funny or witty to say right now.

Can the Cavs go 4-2 against anyone not named the Toronto Raptors right now though? So many questions, three hours worth of time to break it down. Withers and the Mick Man also try and figure out where the Raptors go next now that Dwane Casey has been let go. How do the Jazz improve their roster through trades? Was Playboi Carti's album a slap or a disc to break weed on? How much weed is Klay on for reportedly leaning towards turning down $50 mil? And should the 76ers trade for Kawhi and sign LeBron?

WNBA League Pass Is Only $17

Ben Simmons is a coward who wont shoot threes. LeBron James gets to beat the Celtics one last time before he leaves Cleveland again. The Warriors get to beat the Rockets for shits and giggles. Has CP3 had a better career than Steph Curry? Some pundits say yes for reasons we simply do not understand. The WNBA regular season is quickly approaching and we're all the way in on this upcoming year. Jay Z doesn't know how to perform live, meanwhile Tyler was a bit underwhelmed by the new Rae Sremmurd triple album. The Mickman was not.

What should the Raptors do moving forward since they can't seem to do anything right when it comes to beating LeBron and showing up in the postseason? Do they blow it up? Fire Casey and try a new coach? Or simply hope their young guys take a big enough step forward next year that they'll be ready in 12 months? Also, the Philadelphia 76ers won a game against a team they were heavily favored against. No confetti was dropped for reasons no one quite understands. Should the Celtics be nervous? Do the Sixers have what it takes to become the first NBA team to erase an 0-3 deficit? Finally, Tyler reviews his first trip ever to Boston. What a wild ride for Whiskers.

3 Out Of 4 Of The Semifinal Matchups Are Actually Bad

There's one matchup with any semblance of intrigue while the Rockets and Warriors drub the Jazz and Pelicans. I guess the Raptors could, in theory, beat the Cavaliers but the Raptors also don't have LeBron James so ehhhh probably not. The Celtics and the 76ers series inspired perhaps the most heated debate between Tyler and Coley to date as they don't see anywhere remotely close to eye to eye in this series at all. We recorded in the afternoon just before radio started which explains why it's shorter than usual, and Dave strolls in for the final minutes to shockingly pick the Celtics to win the series. In the middle of the episode we also try and figure out where Donovan Mitchell ranks among players in the Western Conference after his rookie season, where he'd go in a redraft of the 2017 Class, and also if the Jazz would be better, worse or the same with Devin Booker instead.

The Blazers Are Dead Featuring Arian Foster and NFL Draft Expert Steven Cheah

Alright, I'm going to be upfront with you people - this episode is very good. There's just one minor problem: we recorded this podcast on the second floor of our office. Tyler is in New York and, despite recording at the exact same time every single Monday and Wednesday for the entire season, we were not given the studio to record today. Pretty rude. Because of this, we had to use three microphones in essentially a conference room. Withers sounds crystal clear. The Mick Man sounds crystal clear.... Arian Foster and Steven Cheah sound like they're miles away. But no worries, Arian is only on for about 15 minutes during the first half of the show and if you can't hear NFL Draft Expert Steven Cheah loudly enough during the second half, we'll just bring him on back in for Thursday's show. Despite the fact that there are two NFL-centric guests on today's show, it is entirely NBA Playoffs based for the first two hours. We talk about the Blazers being dead, why no one picked the Pelicans, Lance Stephenson being the troll gawd, the Celtics dropping two in Milwaukee, the Jazz jumping out to a lead against the Thunder, Whiteside's defense on Embiid, and all the rest of the goodness that's transpired throughout the first round thus far.

Mickstape: Whom Is Terry Rozier? Featuring Rone & Big Cat

Eric Bledsoe stinks and stinks out loud. Karl-Anthony Towns also, as well, has stunk loudly and oftenly. The Trail Blazers, in our humble opinion, should try scoring more points than their opponent once or twice just to see how it works out for them. And the 76ers lost? To the Heat? The Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia 76ers lost a game??? Tough to believe, tough to fathom, but it's true.

Mickstape: The NBA Playoffs Are Here, And They're Phenomenal

What a first weekend, huh? If the NBA playoffs are gonna be this good every single game from now til the middle of June then the NFL might as well pack up shop and call it a day. The Warriors, surprisingly, look fine. Chris Paul tried his damnedest to blow Game 1. The Wizards probably should've won Game 1, that was a big time misstep on their behalf. The Celtics needed a little bit of overtime to not lose to Giannis and Khris Middleton but dammit they got it done. The 76ers looked unbeatable, then... not so much. The Cavs? Buddy....

Super Special Weekend Bonus Podcast Edition

Hey. Hi. Hello. Welcome. Happy first weekend of the NBA playoffs, everybody. Now, we recorded this episode on Wednesday afternoon, so this episode actually has little to do with what happened Saturday, and some would argue even less to do with what's about to happen on Sunday. But don't fret! We talked about Tristan ThompsonGate, tossed around some hypotheticals for the NFL Draft, and called our shots for the Timberwolves getting into the playoffs and Russell Westbrook getting enough rebounds to secure that season long triple double. I assume we talked about other shit sprinkled throughout this but it's hard to say since it was recorded over three days ago. And also, mostly, because I am not very bright.

Are The 76ers About To Win The East?

Like... maybe? No seriously, the Cavs should win the East since they still have that LeBron James guy but the second best team in the East is absolutely the 76ers. No, it's not the Raptors. More like Craptors, imho. Maybe if the Raptors get some luck and draw the 76ers in the second round, but seeing as they're going to have to play the Cavs it looks like curtains for them earlier than they had hoped. But can the 76ers beat the beleaguered Celtics? Sure, why the hell not? The most intriguing Eastern Conference Finals matchup - by far - is the team with Simmons and Embiid vs. LeBron. As for the Western Conference playoffs: all 15 teams are still eligible for the 3 seed. No one will have any idea who is in the playoffs until the Wolves play the Nuggets on the final day of the season. ONLY THEN will we have even the slightest bit of a clue as to whomst is playing.

Shaq Remains Larger Than Life

I'm going to be honest with you, it's 3:30 in the morning. We recorded this show 12 hours ago. We talked about a myriad of things. I do not remember all of those things. I remember we talked about why littering is bad like some Captain Planet underlings at some point. We talked about how Shaq may be the most recognizable human being of all time. We mocked the Thunder for trading James Harden and breaking up potentially the greatest young core of all time. We tried to figure out a Kawhi trade. Alright at this point I guess I remember a decent amount of what we talked about. Coley yells at Tyler about Coach Of The Year for like 2 minutes max. And oh yeah, Ben Simmons is still really good.

Quin Snyder Run Away Coach Of The Year

JK LOL buddy couldn't even figure out how to break a 2-3 zone. Nerlens gets his name thrown around for a bit. Boogie gets talked about for a hot second. Tyler throws around some names for coach of the year while Coley becomes increasingly angrier. PFT Commenter joined the show to defend his beloved soup. Jared Carrabis said he was a smarter human being than LeBron James, which Tyler and I feel to be wildly false. Andrew Wiggins said he's not comfortable being the third option in Minnesota, despite the fact he's not really the third option in Minnesota right now, so weird move by him. The Sacramento Kings Have Too Many Damn Players

The Cleveland Browns of the NBA, the Sacramento Kings, continue to have no idea what they're doing. The Oklahoma City Thunder have figured out what they're doing, and yet Paul George STILL wants to be a Laker. Why are the Hornets ungood? Is it Dwight's fault? It's probably Dwight's fault. Should the Hornets trade Dwight to Milwaukee? Maybe, who are we to say? Also, Gallagher was really fucking famous for a really long time and that's super fucked up.

Kobe Bryant Slander Appreciation Hour #1

The Lakers retired two numbers for Kobe Bryant last night, so we decided it would only be fair to roast that doberman pincher faced bum for approximately 40 minutes or so because we can and it would be nothing more than propaganda if the entire day was just one long jerk fest of the guy who literally tried to force his way to the pre-Blake Griffin Clippers just because he was having one of his many temper tantrums. The at best 17th greatest player of all time (at the time of his retirement) was celebrated across the web yesterday and frankly it made us sick, so kindly join us for the other side of the tale. The right side of history. I'm labeling this "The Kobe Bryant Slander Appreciation Hour #1" because I can only assume this is the first of many times we do something like this. Feels like a great time to remind everyone that we are not, I repeat NOT, here to argue. Thank you.

No seriously, he has more steals than he's committed fouls. How? How is that possible? It doesn't make any sense.

Dwyane Wade Is Still An All Star In 2018

Tyler becomes physically ill when he realizes that there's no way Dwyane Wade does not make the East's roster and it keeps off one of the several deserving actually currently good players whom have yet to play in their first ASG. And that was just the East. There may only be five teams represented on the Western Conference All Star Team. After all of that is broken down, Tyler breaks down Season 5 of Game Of Thrones, which he was able to watch in a day after Atlanta was crushed with up to as many as two whole inches of snow.

This is where things begin to get rocky as we asked Arian the question we ask everyone... "What are your top five cereals?"...Maybe it's our fault. Maybe we should stop asking our pals this question, because it ends up hurting us in the long run. We're not mad at Arian, we appreciate his honesty, it just hurts is all. It's kinda like a Top 15ish, since neither of us have the same lists, but you get the point. These aren't the Top 10 Treehouse of Horror episodes. That would be sophomoric. These are the Top 10 segments within the episodes because we're a galaxy brain type of podcast. Springfield Of Dreams, The Podcast

"Homer At The Bat" aired 25 whole years ago. "Springfield Of Dreams" aired a whole two (2) days ago. "Springfield Of Dreams: The Podcast" is airing right now, the second you press play on your mobile device. "But Coley, I listen to podcasts on my laptop. Why do you have to assume I'm streaming this on my iPhone or Adroid?" Well, loyal listener. Perhaps you're the type of person who doesn't listen to podcasts in the traditional sense. Maybe you are a laptop consumer, or some sort of other weirdo or vagabond who refuses to adhere to the rules of modern society. To you I say, "A laptop is very much a mobile device. You can take that sucker anywhere your heart desires. Remember what the original computers looked like? How they'd take up several rooms just to be able to print those sheets of paper that you had to tear the perforated sides off of yourself like some sort of common poor? Halloween Candy And Top Cereals

We recorded before Joel Embiid pulled an all time finesse on the Philadelphia 76ers and signed a five year extension worth a cool $148 mil so apologies for not breaking down that finesse in audio podcast form, that will come - never you worry. We did, however, break down why black licorice, candy corn and peeps are in fact trash and not for human consumption while running through some of the top Halloween candies. We also gave our individual top five cereal lists ever of all time. With Season One of Mickstape winding down it would not have been morally just to go into our sophomore campaign without letting you know exactly what kind of people we are when it comes to what we pair with our milk, bowls and spoons. In Shams We Trust

The biggest story to break during Free Agency thus far: Shams jumped over the Woj man. As long time Woj supporters, it's been tough to see but the game is the game. Gordon Hayward is coming to Boston, the Thunder were inexplicably able to trade for Paul George, the Kings got in the mix, and Tyler drank 1,000 (one thousand) beers. Smash that play button.

Lou Will Vrs. The Nerds

Chris Paul and James Harden. A match made in.... Well they'll be playing basketball together next season. Because, why not? They're both basketball players. It would've been weird if the Rockets traded for like, Yasiel Puig or some shit. Is Doc Rivers a herb? Is Austin Rivers a nerd? Is Lou Will planning on stuffing Austin Rivers in a series of lockers? Yes. Yes. And we can only hope.

The Biggest 3 Featuring Gary Payton, Julius Erving, and George Gervin

Coley and Tyler take on the Grand Opening of the Big 3. At one point in the day we decided to try and be real life journalists and were able to talk with Gary Payton (start of the show), Dr. J (when Tyler says RIGHT NOW around like 40-something minutes, idk you'll hear it it's super obvious), and the Ice Man George Gervin (instead of the outro song we have George Gervin. I'm sorry for that wicked awesome upgrade. If you need a song for an outro go listen to "Good Times" by Thugger and Jamie XX. That probably would've been today's song if we're being honest with one another.) Now, the Big 3 denied credentials for our camera guy, so the audio on these interviews,,, well, it's audible. And that's the point of a podcast. To be heard. You're welcome.

(Insert sport) Draft Recap

To the haters and losers, of which there are many in the NBA Draft, Tyler and Coley properly roast them up a storm for picking bad - and in fact not good - players in this year's Draft. To the winners? Well, congrats. We don't really care about you show offs. Looking for validation? You've come to the wrong place entirely, buddy boy.

The Only Mock Draft That Matters

Danny Ainge traded Coley's youngest, most musclebound son Markelle to the Philadelphia 76ers. So what now? Why did this happen? When will the sun explode, engulfing the Earth in a fiery blaze of magnificent doom and horrifying glory? It's Draft SZN

Draft Day (The Movie)

For some reason, Coley tells Tyler the entire plot of the motion picture "Draft Day" starring Kevin Costner. Tyler simply could not believe that anything Coley was saying about the movie was true, despite Coley being 100% correct for the entirety of his speech - as he is with every sentence he's ever uttered. Jimmy Buffet is eating dinners off our backs, song of the summer is discussed, and also - some basketball talk sneaks in the backdoor.

The Warriors Are Who We Thought They Were

Kevin Durant wins Finals MVP after the Warriors claim the series in 5 games. If only there had been an NBA podcast which had told you this was going to happen all playoffs long. Because this was such a foregone conclusion, Tyler and Coley spend only a few minutes on the Finals before moving on to the NBA Draft, Darius Miles' estate sale, and Sebastian Telfair's new gun-running endeavor.

The Cavs Tried To Undead Themselves

And they failed. Miserably. Kevin Durant dotted a dagger in LeBron's eye and that was that. The Warriors are up 3-0, so we decided to discuss whether or not Curry/Durant is actually the best duo of all time or not while wondering if Julius Irving and Rip Hamilton are crazy for thinking their title teams were even playing the same sport as the Warriors.

The NBA Finals Are Here! Aaaand, They're Gone

Coley believes the NBA Finals are a wrap. Done. Finished. Faneto. Tyler believes the Cavs still have an outside chance. Both agree that Kevin Durant is ruining basketball and that the NBA will collapse on itself like a dying star by 2020. Also, the Olympics is finally getting 3v3 basketball and a full breakdown on the Ryan Brothers very un-Jimmy Buffett like behavior at Margaritaville.

THE FINALS ARE HERE..... AAAAND, THEY'RE GONE! Probably. Game 1 was an epic blowout that was close for all of 12 minutes. Luckily for you, we here at Mickstape broke down more than this game because there was nothing even worth taking away from that beatdown. After starting off with some more Jimmy Buffett talk, we dive deep into the Big Baby-Austin Rivers beef and wrap up with the Washington Post's Top 40 Players since the ABA/NBA merger list.

LaMelo Ball set the internet on fire when he went out and dropped a cool seven points on 45 shots, guiding his AAU team to a 50-point loss over the weekend. LeBron, like the classic front-runner that he is, only wins titles the same years Alabama Football brings home the crystal football. And for some reason, Coley and Tyler spent the first 40 minutes of the show debating Gucci Mane and Jimmy Buffett. No one knows why, but it happened.

NBA Finals Preview Part I

The NBA Finals are finally here. Well, they're not here - this is just a podcast. The actual Finals are on television. And they're not on television today. Or even tomorrow. A week from today there will be a Finals game that the Cavs and Warriors have played. Classic millennials with a week off before the Finals start. You never would've seen Bird and Magic take a week off. Or Jordan. Or the NFL. It truly makes us sick.

Also, are the Celtics back? Are the Cavs dead? Long answer: yes with an if; short answer: no with a but.

Not My MVP

In a few years, this season will be remembered much differently than how it really was in the present. The Cavaliers much harped on struggle will be washed away, James Harden will have been carried to the playoffs as if he were Kobe in his prime, and Jaylen Brown will be called the can't miss prospect of his draft class. We here at Mickstape vow to ruthlessly mock anyone who tries to switch up the narrative down the line. Tyler kept all the receipts.

Area 21 needs to be unedited right this second. The fact that this hasn't been green lit yet but they'll make a Rush Hour television show is exactly why millennials aren't buying cable anymore. Volume 25

Volume 25 is far and away the worst, least good episode of Mickstape. And yet it remains the greatest basketball podcast in the history of words and spheres. Not to brag, but this was like 10 David Lee elbows to the top of the back and we did not roll around on the ground for two commercial breaks making snow angels on the parquet in San Antonio.
