Sometimes it can be super exciting that summer is here but it can also be overwhelming and disappointing if you don’t have anything planned and you are ‘stuck at home with kdis or stuck at work’ Also, your routine may be thrown off a bit because of kids being home and trying to schedule their activities..or maybe you have trips planned and just trying to plan that has got you frazzled…so many emotions when summer hits! Haha So i just wanted to encourage you in a few areas to help you stay on track and consistent in this season so that you don’t feel overwhelmed or out of sync! 1) Stay consistent with your routine! Especially your bible study and prayer time!Joshua 1:8: "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." This verse highlights the importance of continually meditating on and adhering to God's Word.2) Make time and/or schedule to get out of the house or if you work all day getting out for a lunch walk or being intentional after work.3) Make a summer bucket list!        - ideas: camp in the backyard, nature walk, go to the lake/river, water balloon fight, bake cookies, go to a theme park etc.4) Be intentional and present when it's time to put away work! Connect with me here! Send me a text message! I think that sometimes we can lose our focus or purpose because we are easily distracted. Seems like such a simple thing but we get trapped in distractions all day and then can feel lost throughout our day. Or maybe that’s just me. It’s funny actually…this week’s podcast is about distraction and it has taken me FOREVER to write this out because I kept getting distracted and not staying focused on the task at hand…ie finishing writing the podcast! Haha Funny how that works. Anyway, I want to give you a few tips and tricks to help you overcome distractions so you can live the abundant life God has for you!What IS a distraction? Television, movies, books…they all provide an escape from our daily lives. There is nothing that says we cannot provide ourselves a little break from reality by being entertained, but when that entertainment gets in the way of our faith, it becomes a spiritual distraction. We need to prioritize what's most important.Distraction =Anything that pulls our attention from God.Eliminate Distractions: Identify and remove sources of distraction.Scripture: "Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you." - Proverbs 4:25Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord!! Last week we talked about staying in your lane! Don’t look to the left or right…keep your eyes on Jesus!Avoid Temptation: Steer clear of situations that lead to distraction.Scripture: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." - Matthew 26:412. Seek God’s Guidance: Regularly seek God's wisdom and direction for your life.Scripture: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." - James 1:5 Prayer: Regular prayer helps keep us focused on our relationship with God.Scripture: "Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:173. Whether we were really afraid of something like spiders or snakes OR we were afraid of rejection…fear is a real thing. The cool thing is, is that we can be FULLY free from fear because fear is a tactic of the devil and we are more powerful than him when we tap into the amazing power of Jesus! 1. Realize fear separates you from GodThere is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear… The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). God is love and there is no fear in love. So in other words…you can’t live in fear AND in God’s love. They contradict each other. Taht doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you BUT when you choose to walk in fear you choose to step out of God’s loving covering cause they can’t coexist!2. Realign your focus- Shift your focus from your fear to JESUS!Hebrews 12:2- And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.-tell story of brothers racing when they were babies3. Read Scripture aloud! And speak life over yourself.You do not have to be ruled or controlled by fear anymore, friend!! You have to get rid of the I am statementsBeliefs that we attach ourselves to that can cause low self esteem because they CANNOT fill the need we have in our hearts! So we need to STOP these beliefs if we want to have the confidence in ourselves and who God created us to be! 1. I am what I possess- reminder- this is not our home. And everything we have belongs to God. So no more being defined by our things. 2. I am my accomplishments- I’ve talked about this as well. I went through many seasons of feeling like I had to be accomplished..i still fight this inclination from time to time. Of putting my worth in what I do. How I perform. What I’ve accomplished. Now of course I”m striving for excellence in all I do.  I’m going to do my best to steward this life that God has given me well! I just have to keep my eyes on Him so that my value and significance comes from being His daughter and nothing else. Make sense?3. I am what other people say- This could go along with the accomplishments. I am a words person. Have you read the love languages book or do you know what your love language is? Well mine are words of affirmation and quality time(almost tied) so what people think matters to me. Now I”m not necessarily a people pleaser but I’d much rather have people happy with me than not! Haha And when people give me compliments it goes a LONG way and on the opposite, when people critize me it takes root and can cause deep wounds if I don’t quickly surrender it to Jesus and understand that my worth doesn’t come from others! I am what I look like-Ekk this is a hard one for us women because we want to be pretty and it’s been instilled in us since we were young that what we look like matters.  I believe we should want to bring God our excellence in all areas of our lives. We should take pride in how we look because ultimately we represent God, our family and ourselves! However, this shouldn’t be what we put our value and worth in! God looks at the heart and the most beautiful person is someone who cares for others, loves God with their whole heart and loves and supports their family well. It’s obviously a healthy balance right? Find spaces to bring your girly prettiness to the world but also your inside beauty is what counts. How you treat others, how you serve others and your family, how you love God and honor Him first. Overcoming your pastPast mistakes- if you’ve been here awhile you have probably heard me talking about mistakes I’ve made. And I’ve made alot of them. And sadly I still continue to make them because well..i’m human lol I say all this to give you freedom to receive grace from Jesus in your mistakes. The enemy wants us to dwell on our faults…to feel shame and to stay in that shame so that we can’t move in to the freedom God has. BUT if it makes you feel any better you will probably make more mistakes to infinity and beyond but God knows this and when we run to Him with our troubles He is there for us. Ephesians 1:7"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace"So two ways to get over your past- - Bring it to Jesus- He is your healer. You have to bring those mistakes and regrets to the cross, lay them down and let Him carry those burdens for you!  -Matt 11:28-30- Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light -Bring it into the light- the more you try to hide your mistakes the easier it is for the enemy to keep you trapped by it. Nothing great happens in the dark. Bring it into the light.2) Past hurts- church hurt or other hurtHurts, trauma pain from the past can hold you hostage and keep you from living in the fullness that God has for you. Whether someone spoke death over you, you were physically hurt, you were hurt in church, some you truly cared for hurt you…whatever the circumstance, not dealing with it will hinder your walk. And I say that in love. We need to again bring these things into the light and allow JEsus to pick up our broken pieces and make us whole in Him! - Let go and forgive-Bring your hurt to GodRemember you are an overcomer! God IS making a way. God wants you to have an abundant full life in Him. Some of these things feel difficult and your first instinct may be to run and hide cause you don’t want to deal…i get that! BUT don’t you want more? Don’t you want to find peace and joy and be released from the pain? Have you ever felt spiritually dry. Like you are crying out to God and are hearing nothing. LIke you don’t really feel anything at all. You are doing all teh right things by going to church or having your regular Jesus time but nothing seems to work. You are losing passion for the things of God because you just feel so dry and stagnant? Well today we are going to talk about a few ways to overcome that!  I’ll be giving you some ideas to help you with some scriptures to encourage so that you can reignite your passion for Jesus and the plans that He has for you friend!  If you are ready for that, let’s jump in!Quote on the google- Passionate people have an ever-increasing desire to obey Scripture. They want to obey not because it’s a command but because they love Jesus. They love his commands and want to honor him.How to keep your passion for Jesus?Change your thinking- fuel your spiritual body as you would your physical body. Fall in love with Him- this take time and intentionality on your part. Spending time with Him and getting to know him through His word, prayer and worship. Admit where you are… it’s ok to be in a dry place. There are mountains, valleys, deserts and oasis’....lots of different seasons and we just need to keep plugging away! Is. 44:3-4- For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And i will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children. They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank. Remember who you are and where God has brought you from- You are a daughter of the King. You have access to God’s power and authority through Jesus. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes feels like we can’t ever get ahead. There are deep rooted hurts, fears that consume, doubt, insecurity, distractions..you name it. Life can sometimes kick us right in the batooty! And guess what, we can stay here and sulk. We can dwell on what is keeping us down and we can let the darkness consume. BUT if you dont want to do that…there is a better way! You can step into the light and let Jesus hea and strengthen you so you can walk in the fullness of this life that He has for you! So if you want to hear more about living a victorious and full life in Him…let’s jump in!Today I wanted to start on this topic of living victorious with a little encouragement from the Isrealites! Haha I was reading in exodus recently and I thought this was fitting. God is faithful - even in their constant whining and complaining, He continues to bless them and keep them and ultimately saves them!- this FULLY applies to us and all our complaining lolGod provides- Exodus 13:21 by day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to gude them on their way and by night in apillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Quick lessons from this! Stand firm & Watch what God doesBe still in His presence and wait- trust in Him!Follow His lead/be obedient.- it must have been scary to see the sea part and to be expected to walk through…not knowing how far youd have to walk to if the water would continue to stay parted- i’m sure lots of doubt started to creep in. We had some rough weather recently…I mean it’s ‘california’ rough but it was rough for us! Haha Anyway, it has sort of got me in a place of feeling like I just want to wear sweats and curl up on the couch and binge watch gilmore girls for the 10th time lol BUT I know that isn’t what God wants for me because then I will be isolated and isolation always leads me down a dark  path. I’m extroverted/introverted. I used to be all extroverted but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized the benefits of quiet time! Lol BUT since that is only supposed to be a benefit and it’s not how I get refuled…i have to be very intentional about not getting sucked into my introverted side. So in the winter when my introvert is telling me to hibernate, I have to make an decision to make plans with friends and get out of the house on the regular! I’ll be honest…it’s not easy but I know that I need it!Ways to help-practical and spiritual 🙂 make a winter bucket list. I’ve talked about doing summer buckets lists in past episodes…but I only thought of a winter one when researching about this topic!Try to get outside anytime the sun peeks it’s head out! Even if it’s just for  a few minutes…Better sleep, reduces anxiety and depression, immunity, stronger bones, lowers blood pressure, gives energy!So wrap yourself in a blanket or parka and get in the sun!Spend quality time with Jesus and ask Him for direction on how to bring the joy or people into your everyday during this season.Keep pressing on friend!Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Do you find it hard to get into a rhythm? YOu want closeness with God but you can’t seem to make the time to get into your word or to even pray? You are so busy with life and overwhelmed with al the things that you can’t seem to get a grip on your spiritual faith walk? Well we are going to dive into some healthy habits that will increase your confidence as a believer and help your mental capacity! If you are here for it, then let’s get to it!3 healthy habits that I love to do EVERYDAY that really help kick start the day and now they are really just like clockwork in my day…Exercise- whatever this looks like to you…at least 30 mins a day of exercise- there are multiple benefits of moving our bodies…and alot of them have to do with mental health! It’s up to us to keep our physical and mental bodies healthy!Sleep! Studies who that at least ⅓ of the population isn’t get the sleep they need! What?? AND women are likely to struggle with the sleep that they get…insomnia etc. Probably because we overload ourselves and have so many things going on in our brains that we have a hard time shutting off.Practical tools- keep a notepad nearby(or notes app in your phone) to brain dump when you can! Cut back on sugar and processed foods(eating out)- Have you ever heard the expression you are what you eat? It seemed silly at the time but So many studies show that what we eat determines how we look & feel. I’m not so much worried about the look even though how we look determines our mental health too( I find that I  need to get dressed here and there otherwise I start to feel super frompy and that takes a toll on your mental health friends!!) Sugar especially has so many side effects and it’s addictive! It seems like a quick fix to our emotional woes at the time but it doesn’t serve us well. Now again this is in moderation. You don’t have to go super crazy and just don’t eat anything. If you DO want to do that, that’s awesome…I bet you won’t regret it! BUT I know cutting out sugar is hard and I love me some peanut butter m&ms from time to time! I’m saying we need to eat less of it and dn’t let it be the thing we run to when we are having a hard time or are on our periods :) The 4th and most important thing is to read your bible. I CANNOT say this enough. I know I sound like a broken record but we need it! As we started this new year I wanted bring us to back to some basics to help remind you of some solid truths to get you started ;in the right direction this year! Last week I touched quickly on the fact that we believe that Jesus is the son of God, He came, died and rose again in victory so we could have freedom in Him! Today quickly on of the foundational beliefs is that the Bible is God’s word and truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It says, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.Hebrews 4:12- For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to the dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. God speaks to us through his word! Woot! When we trust and believe that His word is truth and stand on the promises of God then we can stand in His victory, peace, joy..you name it! So today's quick encouragement is Develop spiritual disciplines- Just like any other thing in our life, eating heathy, exercising, sleeping well, all the self care stuff…we need to develop spiritual habits that will help us grow in our walk with God!2Declare His wordThis is going to be a simple one. There is something amazing that happens when we partner with God’s word and actually use it to speak life over ourselves, marriages, families, kids, work places, schools, homes etc! So last week we talked a bit about our beliefs as far as believing that Jesus is the son of God, He came, died and rose again so we can have freedom and victory! Reminder…HE is still on the thone of victory in your life! Keep your eyes fixed on Him friend! When He left, he left us with Holy Spirit our advocate. John 14:15-17-  “If you love me, keep my commands.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—  the Spirit of truth. Vs 26-27-  But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.We believe in the Holy Spirit and in the Holy Trinity! I love that HOly Spirit is still here with us…leading and guiding us. Going before us. Romans 8:26-27 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.He even prays on our behalf!! Isn’t that so awesome! So quick steps to help you today..Decide to give it all and Dive in! - Ephesians 3:19 says May you experience the love of the Chirist, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (NLT)When we give Him full control and really get soaked in his presence we can understand His fullness and overflow that goodness in our lives!So practically speaking what this means is to not hold back when it comes to getting to know jesus. Make a decision to make Him number uno in your life! Jump into reading the word. Go to church with the expectation that He will move in your life. Bring worship and prayer into your home with full abandon..not holding back :) 2. Deepen your trust in HimJeremiah 17:7-8 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. When we have confidence and trust in Him we don’t have to fear or worry and will always have good fruit in our lives! We need to get back to the basics and remember what we believe and who we believe in!So basics for you todayJesus is our savior. We just celebrated Him all christmas…He came as a baby…the savior of the world! And soon we will celebrate His resurrection!He came to save us and to give us freedom!He left us with the HOly spirit who is here to be our guide…but we have to learn how to listen, hear and be lead by Him!So the two things I wanted to talk about today was thisDelight in the Lord! Ps 37:4- Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heartPs 119:33-40- Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.We have to KNOW God and be known by Him to really understand His goodness, intentions and be able to walk out His callingJohn 10:14-15- I am a good shepherd, i know my sheep and my sheep know me- just as teh Father knows me and I knwo the father- and I lay down my life for the sheep. Vs 27 my sheep listen to my voice, i know them and they follow me.1 corinthians 8:3- But whoever loves God is known by GodNeed to spend time with Him to understand this fully! The more we do the better we understand his intentions and can hear his direction!Devote ourselves to Him! We need to believe in the calling his has given us(sharing His goodness with those around us) and affirm the person He has called us to be. We are the hardest on ourselves and the enemy knows he can keep us in teh same place if we can keep us questioning our abilities etc. GOD is bigger and can use us in our weaknesses!!  Isn’t this amazing. We don’t have to have all the answers or know what the next step is. We just need to trust God and keep living for HIm. and let Him do all the heavy lifting!! Speaking life over ourselves and giving him glory through all circumstances! Making a choice to follow him FULLY. NOt wishy washy. But to choose to make space for Him in your life and include Him in your day. To get plugged into a church and let your family be part of church community. 2023 flew by. Today I was sitting here and kind of sad that I was sort of ‘still in the same place’ even though that is ENTIRELY not true. Isn’t it so dumb that we quickly lose sight of ALL that God has done because it isn’t exactly what we thought it should be? So a couple of things to encourage you on today..Celebrate you- take a moment to look back and write down at least 3 things that you accomplished and feel good about. A win! Doesn’t have to be huge…but we tend to for get the good things and only dwell on the things we did wrong. SO you need to go back and celebrate the wins of 2023. EVEN IF this was hard year…I KNOW there will be wins in there somewhere. So write them down, ask Holy Spirit to lead you in remembering and celebrate you!Some celebrations for me is this- my family got through this year without any major injury(big deal with busy man children!) or health problems. The podcast reached some milestones that I NEVER thought would happen…all thanks to you for listening!! Seriously…it’s a privilege to be part of your week so thank you for letting me speak into your life! We got to travel to the Dominican Republic and have an amazing experience there that stretched and grew us!! I had some fabulsou experiences leading worship and speaking which grew me as well! LOTS of growth this year! Haha And also it brought some new amazing people into my life! Absolute bonus!! And as i’m writing all I’m geting pumped for what God has in store for 2024!!!(and this was all off the top of my head…there is WAY more i’m sure I could celebrate!)  I hope that when you begin look back and see all the things God has done, you will be ready to give God more and be excited for all the possibilities in 2024!! That brings me to my next thing for you- Set some goals for 2024. What do you want this next year to look like? Do you want to read the bible more, spend more time with your kiddos, stop a bad habit, go on a special vacation, learn and grow in yoru faith walk, lose some weight, write a book, start a business, become financial free…what is it? Write down some dreams you have for 2024. Then set attainable goals with dates to go along with them. No more just wishing and hoping they will happen! Let’s do it!2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.Isaiah 43:18-19 - “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. It was on my heart today as I prayed about this episode. My life isn’t perfect, I have had loss and frustrations throughout the year but I haven’t had a hard year. And it can be easy to forget, that in the midst of  my joy, there are hurting people that don’t even want to celebrate Christmas this year. The response was a bit overwhelming. First thank you to all who shared. I so appreciate your vulnerability and I hope that you can receive some encouragement this season.So I wanted to just give you a few things to help you get through this season and remember to bring it back to the REAL reason for the season :) Jesus!  So my encouragement to you is that you give your hurt and pain to Him. That you lay it down at the cross and surrender to Him. Let Him heal your heart because He doesn't want you stuck in the same pain year after year. And this season is a joyous occasion of Jesus’ birth. Celebrating the savior of the world and all that that means.Some practical things to help you through this season(whether it is good or not so good)Set some awesome goals- Small, big and something you honestly don’t think could happen- Focus on the possibilities of the future and what God holds in front of you!Be in tune with your body.- cycle syncing- are you on your period or near it? Christmas is right around the corner so I thought I’d touch a bit on overwhelm in this season. Yes we say that word alot. BUT it’s because it’s a real word that is really how we feel, right?But side note as I was writing this, I felt the Lord say we need to stop using the words that we don’t want to feel. So let’s not partner with the word overwhelmed. It may be something we are feeling at the moment but it’s not from God and so don’t let it take hold!Ok today I wanted to give some quick tips to help you get past the high stress that comes with this season. First we need to ditch the party’s and presents-Half of our stresses comes with doing and spending too much. Maybe you are well off and you have plenty of money to spend, that’s awesome. BUT even then, the idea of searching and getting lists and buying and wrapping..it can be alot. And going to so many parties, it just adds to the plate. So the way the way we ditch these two things is first to learn how to say no. It’s ok to say no to some ofthe things you are invited to. And it’s ok to say no so certain presents. No your limit and budget and stay within those boundaries. We started doing something a few years ago for our kids, something you want, something you need, something to wear , and something to read. Makes gift giving a little easier than a TREE FULL OF PRESENTS lol Second, Prepping yourself for a healthy Christmas.This is a season for family, friends and stress. We see people we only see once a year. We mingle with people we don’t like. We spend money we don’t have. We go places we don’t want to go. So we got to be prepped. What iS your budget? Who do you HAVE to buy for? This year we opted to change our gift giving cause we are all on a budget(explain cousin gift exchange)What parties, events etc do you HAVE to go to and which ones can you opt out of?Ask God to help you decide on these things! Remember He’s into the details! Make a plan. Stick to the plan. Third drop the perfectionism! So we need to release that to God and get back to WHY we celebrate Christmas and WHY we are gathering with friend and family. To start off I want to just bring some encouragement to you- so hear this and claim it as I declare it!You are a beautiful woman of God, you are chosen & called. You were made on purpose and with a  purpose. You have power and authority through Jesus to speak truth over your life and your families lives. You are strong and capable. You are beloved dearly by our heavenly Father. You are seen and known by your creator AND He wants relationship with you! You belong and His beautiful daughter. You are a fantabulous mom, wife, sister, daughter, auntie, grandma and friend. Be encouraged friend, You are right where God wants you to be.  Trust Him, surrender to Him and let Him lead & guide your steps today. Let this be an anthem for you in this busy season friend! DOn’t let the enemy rob you of peace during this time! That brings me to this quote I say on the googleQuote for studying- if you don’t fill your mind with the word of God, the enemy will fill it with fear, anxiety, stress, worry and temptation. We have to fill our minds with God so that there is no room for any of the garbage that the world is trying to sell us. So let’s get into this episode’s topic! Building intimacy- other synonyms- closeness, familiarity, confidence, understanding, affection…loved all these words! The only way to not fall back into our old ways or get trapped in sin we thought we were free of is to surrender and spend time with God on the daily. If we don’t put these practices into play everyday we will leave ourselves open and vulnerable to the enemy’s plots. 1. Stop- stop the busy. Slow down. Take time to enjoy the things around you. But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:312. Study the word!! I cannot say this enough. And I probably sound like a broken record at times but reading the Bible is KEY to your spiritual growth.        -Today I was reading(this has happened before but it’s an example) the bible and I started to ask God some questions about what and why things went down the way they did. And as I started to write, a few things came to mind. It was awesome cause it wasn’t til after that I realized that it was sort of a download from Holy Spirit. It wasn’ really an ‘answer’ per se but it was him talking to me! So boom…just another example of why ti’s so important for us to get inthere and do it ourselves…so we can learn to hear from Him!           -Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path- Psalm 119:1053. Sing/shout- in other words. PRAISE & WORSHIP! If you haven’t heard the song Praise by brandon lake/maverick city/elevation….GO LISTEN!!! It should AMP you up. THe basic gyst is no matter the circumstance we gotta praise. Believe God is in the waitingWaiting is the worst, waiting in line, waiting for food(i get hangry), waiting in the carpool, waiting for the right timing…i’m actually terrible at waiting. I get so impatient…it’s something I’m constantly working on!(I’m an impatient driver and I dont even know why…like I’m just in a hurry so I get frustrated on the road…)How many of you have been in a waiting season before? Waiting is no bueno. It’s difficult. And frustrating. We are used to things fast. Fast food. Fast internet. Fast travel. A microwave culture. We live in a busy busy busy culture. If we aren’t busy, then we aren’t productive. If we aren’t productive than we aren’t fulfilling our purpose. If we aren’t fulfilling our purpose we are disappointing someone. IF we are disappointing someone we….were unhappy so what do we do? We pile on more so we can feel good about our accomplishments but in reality we have so much on our plates that we cant keep most of it straight which in turn frustrates us even more….and the cycle continues. Is this just me or does anyone else feel this?There is something beautiful that happens when we can learn to wait. To stop the hurry  and just rest in Him. Allowing Him to speak and lead each moment of our day. We have to SLOW DOWN in order to learn how to properly wait. When we wait and let God do what He needs to do to get us where we need to go, in the right time, with full abandonment…he shows up. God is in the waiting…just because you are waiting doesn’t mean God has abandoned you. He is still there..teaching us to rest in Him and trust in Him. Scriptures for when you are in the waiting season! “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa. 40:31).“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” (ESV) Lamentations 3:25“Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. This is going to be a tough conversation because offense usually comes from hurt. First I would like to say that we can not and will not try to deny your pain or hurt from someone. Your feelings are real and I acknowledge them! SOmetimes we are hurt intentionally and sometimes not but regardless we need to deal with that hurt and it’s what we do with those feelings that counts.We have to remember that God is our judge and defender. And even though he may not deal with things like we would want we have to trust that He will take care of it for us. Healing only comes when we can forgive and move on. AND not expect anything in return from the person you were wounded by. SO let’s dive into some ways to get rid of offense so you can walk in more freedom friend!Check your expectations- sometimes our expectations …Don’t hold on to things for too longDOn’t assume negative intentAcknowledge your hurt and bring it to God             Which means dont’ go running to others without first taking it to God and letting Him teach and guide your next steps. It’s fine to have ONE mentor or close confidant but don’t let it go further than that.                                                                                                        Matthew 5:23-24 The Message (MSG)If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God.5. Forgive- even when you don’t feel like it- When we give it to God and let Him take over we can be FREE in Him.      Ephesians 4:31-32- Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.      James 1:19-20- Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.6. Pray pray and pray some more :) One thing to remember when we talk about offense is that the enemy want to keep us trapped by offense. If we are caught up in thinking about what someone has done to us then we can start allowing bitterness and resentment to take over…and when we are operating in those things we are not able to walk in all that God has for us! Ps 37:3-4Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.We are being called to trust, dwell and take delight. It's a sort of call to action on our part. We love to hear that part about giving us the desires of our hearts without having to partner with God or His word. BUT it's very clear that we are to trust in him to enjoy safe pasture with Him! And then to delight(or build relationship with Him) so that we can partner with Him so we can align our hearts to His desires that He is giving us!

Last week we talked about finding joy in this crazy season and today I want to talk about keeping our sanity and closing out the year strong! It’s so important for us to be reminded how we need to take care of ourselves. We can burn out so quickly if we arent paying attention to our self care! And when I say self care I dont’ mean going to get pedis or massages(althought those are nice) I’m talking about really taking care of ourselves so we can be the best version of our selves and show up well for our families and God! We always tell our kids- who are we representing and the answer is God, our family and ourselves. We want to represent those things well and we can only do that IF we take cafe of ourselves by doin these few things on the regular!Get outside- especially when it’s sunny! We need the vitamin D Exercise- Go for a walk, lift some weights, get your heart rate up. So health benefits for moving our bodies. Also, side note not just working out but actually moving throughout the day. I’ve learned I need to set timers otherwise I can end up sitting and working for hours without moving- sometimes the only thing that reminds me to get up is when I have to pee hahaha And usualy i’m annoyed i have to stop doing what I’m doing…mostly cause I dont’ wnat to lose my train of thought…which happens so frequently these days!- getting older lolSpeak affirmations- speaking truth over ourselves is so important! Use scripture to help you with this! Remember I have an affirmation journal available with my christian woman digital bundle! Check out the link in shownotes or go to my IG….PRAY and SPEND TIME WITH JESUS- talk about this alot so I wont’ go into too much depth…but the BEST way to take care of ourselves is to prioritize time with Jesus. Period. Receive the grace that Jesus offers and forgive yourself.Nothing is perfect. Nothing WILL be perfect. Let go of those unnecessary expectations! If we let go of those expectations we are less likely to lose it when it doesn’t go the way you planned! BUT if you end up losing it alittle(cause let’s be honest it’s bound to happen lol) then remember that you can walk in the grace that Jesus offers. Bring your crazy to Him, ask for forgiveness and walk in freedom. Slow down and breatheMatthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.Learning to enjoy each momentWe can do this by being thankful and grateful! Which brings me to gratitude journaling! There are SO many benefits to being intentional with gratitude!! I can’t say this enough- talk about the printable pack that I will link in show notes and on IG & FB group!Dont give in to too much temptation with the sweets… stay healthy physically whcih will help you mentally!!Have to take care of our physical bodies as well as our spiritual ones!Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.Make a list and prioritizeThis is more practical. But be organized! Be intentional with how you spend your time and energy. But there is a reason there is a saying that says ‘it takes a village’ cause we aren’t supposed to be doing it on our own. WE are built for community! The culture we are in is all about boss babe, girl boss, lady boss- being empowered to do everything- and getting it  everything done! This is awesome cause we DO want to be free to know we can live a life outside of motherhood but the danger is that we start to believe that we HAVE to do it all on our own otherwise we are failures…and that just isn’t true. It takes a village friends…and the reason it does is so that we can learn to lean on others(and God) and let them lean on us. It’s two sided…you get blessed and get to bless others! Woot!Joy comes from God. Ps 30:5-6Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people; praise His holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning!These verses are responding to some plagues that were in Isreal and David was encouraging to praise through it! I love the part where He says that Gods favor lasts a lifetime! When commit and submit our lives to God, He pours out favor in so many areas! Believe that you matter- what you do, say, watch, listen to, who you follow, you let influence you, matters!!There are studies that show that what we watch actually can affect your thinking, preferences and even cognitive ability…. And what we listen to can influence us alot…it can impact illness, depression, spending, productivity, and the perception of our world. This is from worldly studies…not christian ones. Talking about the impact of what we watch….do you watch inappropriate shows or movies? Or maybe you watch horror films…opening the door to all kinds of crazy in your home. The spiritual world is real people! WE can’t take it lightly!We are supposed to be in the world, not of the world. I particularly think music is crazy impactful. I think it’s because WORSHIP is so impactful. We were created to bring Him praise and so the enemy(very first worship leader in the world) knows the influence it can have and as such has created a worldly market of basically filth, and has us singing along to craziness and then with that same mouth praising God on Sundays…. Eeek.I know this is more of a conviction for me because my heart leans toward worship so i’m more sensitive to it…again listen to the Holy Spirit's promptings!Ephesians 4:29- Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs. That it may benefit those who listen. Slaughter comparison!- stop looking to the right or the left. Keep your eyes fixed on jesus. Be grateful for what you have and stop looking at what others have. Also, God has created you on purpose with a purpose so stop trying to be something that you are not…meaning when you look at someone else and try to mimic that, you are reflecting the wrong surface! We are supposed to reflect GOD and then the strengths and gifts HE has given us will come out naturally.  abilities!                           -Galatians 1:10= For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.                           -2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth2. Strengthen your character- know who you are! be who God called you to be. Get in your word and know what God says about you and who He is calling you to be! Surround yourself with other women who love Jesus like you do!- this might not mean you are gonna agree with everything that is said but community is important!-Romans 5:4- suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character and character hope… -Submit to the Holy spirit so you can bear HIs fruits..love, joy peace…etc. 3. Surrender your calling- we get caught up so much in ‘what is my calling’ what is my purpose? ‘Where do I fit’ The sin int eh world is trying to make you feel like you don’t fit so you have to find your ‘perfect passion and calling’ to fit. Btu guess what? You fit in Jesus’ arms. You dont’ have to strive or work or try to make something happen. God has it all already figured out. The striving can cease. When we rest in Him and let Him lead us there is SO much peace. Now I’m not saying tha tyou shoudl be lazy and have no plans. God gave us brains so we can use them! And he gave us hands and feet so we can work BUT don’t let the idea of having to be in God’s perfect plan rule yoru day or who you are. WE can’t find our purpose here without Him. Ps 20:6-7Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to His anointed. He answers him from His heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. David is declaring that his victory is in God! Be encouraged to declare this same victory over your home today!! 

Ok let’s jump in… we talk alot about being overwhelmed with life. How to get out of that and find the peace that only come from God. You know that first and foremost my desire for you is to KNOW God and be KNOWN by God. ANd to do that you need to get in your word and spend time with Him so that you can be fully aware of His presence and intention for your life. I love ya but DO IT!!I saw this quote today about biblitcal boundaries- Biblical boundaries are personal rules that you set in place to make sure that no one takes advantage of you, hurts or harms you, or treats you with disrespect. An example of setting a boundary includes saying no to someone, cutting someone off in your life and just loving them from a distance, and walking away from a situation that may require you to abandon your faith or change the beliefs that you have.It all comes down to setting yourself up for healthy relationships and a more peaceful life. God didn’t want us to have so much chaos in our lives…we weren’t supposed to be going all the time and never slowing down. I say this in love but we are warn down because we aren’t CHOOSING peace. I've said it before, WE set our schedule, WE choose what we do with our day, We have the ability to say no, or set restrictions on how our time is spent etc. Ok let’s get into this real quick. Here are some tips on setting boundaries-A lot of times the reason we don’t set boundaries is because we don’t want to let anyone down. But we DO end up letting people down because we spread ourselves so thin that we can’t do anything with excellence! Ps 19:1-4The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. The mountains sing, the rocks cry out, the oceans roar....I want my praise to be louder don't you?Be encouraged to seek God, build relationship with Him and learn to proclaim the goodness of God!! 

This week in church the message was about negative thinking…which I thought was fitting as I’m talking about similar topics. It was mentioned that we natural gravitate to negative thinking. Like when we go to a restaurant it’s more likely we will complain about what went wrong rather than what we liked(or verbalize it). It’s like when we get some compliments about something we worked on but we also get one negative review….what is it we are likely to focus on? I know for me it’s always been the negative…me being a sort of people pleaser or wanting people to love me, made me dwell on the things I did wrong and how I could’ve done it differently. The point is that we tend to lean toward the negative ESPECIALLY in our thought life. Cause our thoughts can continue to go down hill if we don’t stop them in their tracks and switch our focus to things above!Whatever is true, noble, right, pur, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy…think on THESE things! We have to shift our focus when we start to hear those lies coming in. Phil 4:8Ways we can strengthen ourselves in this area: 1. Engage in Worship: Engage in worship and praise. Singing hymns or listening to worship music can shift your focus from negative thoughts to the greatness and goodness of God.- Talk about worship- lol2. Set Boundaries: Be intentional about what you allow into your mind. Limit exposure to negative influences, such as certain media, social media accounts, or unhealthy relationships that perpetuate negative thinking.- what you put in will eventually come out. Period. So choose to fill your eyes and ears with good things!3. Replace Lies with Truth: Identify specific lies you believe about yourself, others, or God. Counter each lie with a corresponding truth from the Bible. Psalm 12:7-8You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.In this crazy world we see alot of icky things. Ok first let’s start with some scripture on this:Colossians 3:2 (NIV):"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."Romans 12:2 (NIV):"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."Isaiah 26:3 (NIV):"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you."James 4:7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.These are just some scripture to get you started. We have the ability through Jesus to have our minds renewed, to resist the enemies lies, to have peace in our minds etc.  BUT again it’s THROUGH Jesus that this happens. It’s through a relationship with Him that we can capture the thoughts and bring them to Him to deal with. Jesus’ death and resurrection gave us access to relationship with the Father but also access to His power. We are stronger than the enemy. We are stronger than anything the world can bring against us…as long as we submit to God and partner with Him. Hopefully that gives you hope and strength… you have the power through Jesus friend!Ok here are some things to help youBe aware of your thoughts and thought patterns. When you feel the yucky thoughts coming, pause and bring them to God in prayer. Ask Him for the wisdom and strength to discern the lies from the truth.         James 1:5- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him            2. Get in your word! When you meditate on scripture and fill your mind with God’s word you can use it to fight the mind battles. There are so many scriptures that can help you replace the icky thoughts with God’s truth!!             3.  Speak out God’s truth!So this is where being aware and shutting it down before you even make the climb to the top of the slide, comes in. Be aware and speak LIFE over yourself. Give your barista body the order or gratitude, joy or peace instead of anger frustration or fear. And then follow it up with speaking out scripture that backs up the feelings you want to be produced in your life! And ps- it’s ok to feel frustrated or angry. Acknowledge those feelings BUT dont’ let them stay and take over. That is my point. Cause THAT is when we start to take a ride on the crazy slide. So recognize the feelings, give them to the Lord, and speak life over yourself so you can move forward in truth!! Ps 8Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have establisheda stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and theavenger,When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moonand the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankindthat you are mindful of them, human beings that you care of them?You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned themwith glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everythingunder their feet:all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky,and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! 

The unknown is so difficult for our human capacity lol We want to know what is coming. We want to plan and have a plan of attack for all the variables. Especially as mothers we want to be prepared so that our kids and families are safe. When we keep all our ducks in a row it makes us feel safe and in control. Which is a facade right? Like, deep down we know we aren’t in control. Which I think makes us hold tighter to what wehave instead of leaning into our creator and trusting that no matter what HE has it all figured out. He’s got it. And He is ultimately the only one who is FULLY trustworthy! Psalm 18:30As for God, His way is blameless;The word of the Lord is tried;He is a shield to all who take refuge in HimHow do we trust and surrender?1) Acknowledge He is Sovereign and we need Jesus!2) Release the fear and control3)Build intimate relationship with Him4)Embrace obedienceI understand that this doesn’t come naturally so we need to makeSurrendering and trusting  a daily practice. Giving Him your dreams and goals, releasing your family, kids, marriage to Him on the daily. Speaking out over and over “I trust you God” Declaring scripture to reinforce these beliefs in your mind, heart and soul so that you can come in alignment with God’s will for your life!Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Just a few things I've learned from other wise mamas :)1) Listen!- Two ears, one mouth. Sometimes listening can be hard…cause IF the communication is open then you hear things you might not want to. BUT bite your tongue and let them speak. Help them to walk through it by hearing them out and reassuring them that no matter what happened you will always love them.(jsut like Jesus loves us!) OF course there will be consequences for certain things- I dont’ want you to think you should just let them tell you crazy stuff and let it go haha Consequences are obvious BUT learning to listen and take in information without trying to fix things or teach things or correct things…it’s a muscle that us mamas need to build. You don’t want your teen to think they can’t tell you anything because they know they will get a lecture on the other end. And ulitimately you want them telling YOU the stuff instead of friends or worse, another friend's safe parent. So learn to use those two ears and close the one mouth. 2)Lead by example! - Be who you say you are. I know this can be hard but don’t say one thing and act another way. Don’t take your kids to church and tell them to live a God honoring life if you are going home and cursing up a storm around them, being inappropriate, yelling/screaming at every little thing, controlling all situations, over eating, watching shows that don’t align with your ‘lifestyle’, verbally abusing your kids OR YOUR hubs!(this one is SO important- we have to be better at honoring our spouses ladies!- that will be for another chat on marriage :) anyway… etc…you get the picture. 3)Be honest- show them you can be vulnerable and let them into your struggles…not all the gory details but let them know you re human and are trying to be better. Apologize when you hurt them or make mistakes. Own up to your ‘issues’ and show them you are trying to be better! I think that with teens you earn their respect in this way….maybe not outwardly(cause we all know teens don’t give compliments lol) but inwardly they are seeing they can trust you and are safe with you. Lastly and most important-3) Reinforce their identity- teenagers can drive us crazy. They can push us to the edge. They can make us want to quit parenting all together haha(actually I felt more like this in the toddler stage than now- but I know I’m the minority in this thinking) BUT they need to know they are loved, seen and known by us. AND by God. And they can only know these things if you tell them and teach them! You are made to be your kiddos mama in these moments beloved child of God!!! Today were chatting about resting!! Learning to slow down and pay attention what is on your plate. 1)WorshipIf you’ve been around awhile you know how much I love to connect to God through worship. I love praising Him and I love music. So it’s the perfect way for me to connect. I remember when I was doing counseling a few years ago the counselor asked what a favorite memory I had from growing up that made me feel like me. I can’t remember his exact question but it was around that lol The first thing that came to mind was me sitting in the living room next to the record player, just laying and listening to music and singing along. In that moment remembering back it was a place to feel refreshed, regenerated and peaceful just sitting and listening to music. I believe that God put that hunger for music in my heart at a young age. It makes me think about how important music is to all of us though. Music sort of transports you. I can hear a song and it takes me to a certain memory or time in my life… have you ever experienced this? I believe this is because we were created to worship. We were created to bring praise to God not only through our living but in songs!My challenge for you is this, next time you are at church during the owrship time or at home listening to worship, don’t just sing along. Don’t just go through the ‘motions’ of singing and watching who is on the stage( and I don’t say this to judge…I have a hard time not doing this because all of the ‘stage’ stuff is interesting to me so I can easily be distracted by it sometimes!) I say this to encourage you to go deeper with God during your times of worship. Don’t let anything distract you from His presence. Ask Him how you can know Him more during those times and ask for Him to speak to you during those moments! He says ask and receive so go ahead and ask!! I know that you will begin to hear Him clearer and know Him more through this!2) God's wordI can’t say this enough. Reading the Bible is so important for your growth, for relationship with God and literally for sustaining every day life. I was telling my tribe girls the other day that it’s like getting hangry. If we don’t stay connected with Him we can get spiritually hangry and then we CANNOT walk in the goodness of God or the His power OR be used for His glory ie walking in His purposes. I know that for me I am not a nice person when I’m hangry…and it can be pretty bad when I realize that I”m spiritually hangry lol Reading our bible is our spiritual food. Remember that the best way to find rest and peace in this busy season is to put Jesus first. To spend time with Him and make that priority in your day to day. Why is it, that your Jesus time always sufferers in the midst of chaos? Who is the giver and supplier of the peace that passes all understanding or strength from His joy or true rest? GOD! So my challenge to you is this…don’t let ANYTHING rob you of that time. YOU are in charge of your schedule so dn’t let the stresses of the day determine your schedule.Isaiah 41:10- So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Matthew 11:28- Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Isaiah 40:29-31- He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. The next few points are just some highlights of what God’s word is and how it helps us. Hopefully this will ignite your heart to LOVE reading it and give you a deep desire to want more! Not just It’s a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path- Psalm 119:105- we chatted a bit about this in the members group this last week. Being reminded that God’s word helps us to see! Just as I said in point three…because Hisword is active and alive it can bring different messages at different time to help us in each circumstance! How cool is that. Also, have you ever experienced reading a scripture and then going to church and the pastor is speaking on that very verse and then your friend comes to you and shares the same thing? This is God talking to you friend!! He’s using His word to bring something to light or help you through your season. It’s awesome to know He listens, hears and wants to help right?Ok I say all of this to hopefully help you have a desire to get into His word. So you can experience all that He has for you. Don’t think of it as a chore…or as something to check off your list. When you do that you will miss out on al that God has for you because you won’t be in the right head space to hear from Him! Change your outlook on it and come with an expectant heart! Matthew 5:5-6Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.Meekness does not been weakness. It means humble and self disciplined. SO in verse 5, Jesus is saying that when you come with a humble heart and a disciplined life that recognizes your need for a Savior, you will have His inheritance! Let me just start by saying you are NOT your mistakes. One bad situation or misstep in your walk with the Lord does not define your whole walk. And even if you have made this said blunder over and over, it doesn’t determine your worth or growth. Every day is a new day. You have a chance to grow and receive new mercies every morning- Thank you Jesus! I have had many moments where I have felt like the biggest failure and honestly alot of those times I let the words of others and the negative thoughts in my head, keep me from moving forward and walking in the grace that only comes form Jesus. Some of these things kept me frozen and stuck for so long and I don’t want that for you friend!! Today I came across a facebook memory- This is what it read… 'Had a bit of a rough time with the boys at the doc this morning…sometimes I feel like such a failure as a mom! Need some encouragement and prayers please’ I’m here to tell you to fight the urge to partner with those thoughts. I was given a quote from a friend on this thread- “Don’t let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life’ - so here I am sharing that with you. 11 years after the fact but here it is. For those of you who are feeling lost, alone, trapped in your own negative thought process, angry at where you are in life, frustrated that you keep circling your same quote’ issues’, feeling purposeless and not sure how to move forward… I see you and I’m here for you! First- remember that God’s mercies are new every morning- The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23Second- it’s a choice friend. What are you going to do with this new day? How are you going to respond(instead of react) how are you going to spend your time? What things are you going to prioritize? Third- Let’s learn to take our thoughts captive- use God’s word as a sword and slice the enemies lame lies into smitherings!! You are strong and capable and are not defined by mistakes. You are not supposed to stay stuck. You are more powerful than any negativity that comes into your mind. When you choose to co labor with God and allow His presence to renew and refresh you, you can get rid of those negative thoughts and replace them with God’s goodness. When you do that you can be free from guilt, shame, regret, fear, people pleasing, perfectionism, and conflicting thoughts…all the things friend!If you are wanting more help in this area then let’s chat. John 8:12- 'If you hold to my teaching you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free'Again there are some call to action statements here. Jesus is saying IF you hold to my teaching- which I believe the best way for this is to know His word and follow his lead through it!- THEN you will know the truth and from that truth we will be set free!So once again we are being pointed back to God's word. Ways to give up your controlLess striving more abidingPs 46:10- Be still and know…Abide in me and I in you…I could talk about this til I’m blue in the face lol We need to settle down our lives and REST in Him. Get out our of the mindset of striving and achieving and pause. Relax, take a deep breath and let God take the reins. Confess and surrender your need for controlWe need to acknowledge our need for God in these situations. Surrender- example of your kiddos reaching up to you when they’ve pooped themselves out or just want to be held. I remember a good analogy I saw about being a driver vs a passenger. When we are wanting control we are trying to drive. And even when we are in the passenger seat we are giving directions or cringing at every move. Or even reaching over to help lol THink about driving with your spouse or maybe your teen! I don’t know about you but when my hubs drives I feel like I’m on edge. He isn’t a bad driver but he gets distracted and forgets where he is sometimes so there are last minute decisions at times haha BUT I have to trust that he is going to get us where we need to go. And yes every once and awhile I have to remind him that a turn is coming but it isnt’ that way with Jesus!!! Jeff(my hubs) isn’t perfect and Jesus is. God knows where we need to go. God is THE BEST driver that you could ever have driving you around :) Galatians 2:20- I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for meTrust!Don’t doubt God’s ability to take care of you.- Not that you will have a perfect life but that He is a faithful and will get you through whatever comes your way!What is keeping you from trusting in Him fully? Prov 3:5-6- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Matthew 5:3-4Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Being poor in spirit isn't referring to being without. Jesus is talking about recognizing our spiritual poverty and our need for God.  When we submit to Him and release our lives to Him we will have access to His kingdom!! Boom!In the same way, those who mourn, isn't talking about loss or tragedy. This is about our sorrow of repentance. Coming to God with a repentant heart and being sorry for grieving the Holy Spirit through our actions.Thankfully Jesus covers us so we don't always have to get this right!! But how great is it that when we come to Him with repentance, acknowledging our need for Him, then He offers us  comfort and a home :) Be encouraged, challenged and blessed today!! Find more energy with these 3 hacks:(these are the practical tips)Drink more water and eat less sugar- seems obvious but it needs to be said! We drink all kinds of crazy things throughout our day but water is so Which brings me to my next point…GET REST! Maybe this doesn’t mean more sleep cause we are all in different points of our lives and sometimes sleep can’t happen(cause of work a new baby!) BUT you CAN force yourself to get rest. And usually rest helps you get more time with JESUS which in turn will give you ALL the energy you need!! Exercise! This does NOT need to be excessive or lengthy. BUT exercise is linked to increased energy and improved sleep! There are many benefits to exercise but since we’re talking about energyScripture to encourage!!1 Corinthians 10:31- So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of GodRomans 12:1-2- I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.1 Corinthians 6:20- For you were bought with a price. Luke 6:46-49"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord' and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well build. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who build a house on the ground without a foundation. Lol So recap- how do we find peace even in the midst of chaos? Or do we find joy in the mundane areas of our life?We rejoice in the Lord. We remember to be grateful in ALL things. We bring our needs to God with thanksgiving…laying down our anxious thoughts and trusting FULLY in Him.How do we trust fully in Him you ask? By spending time with Him. The more you spend time with Him the more youw ill know Him. The more you know Him. The more you will understand His intentions toward you. When you understand His intention of love, you will trust and trust brings peace and joy!! Jesus says in John 15:9-11As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in His love. This is a tough topic. Being well rounded. Balanced. I feel that word is overused to be honest. Is it even possible to be balanced? Balanced means to  arrange in good proportions.  So we need to have things grouped to a certain number and size to keep things sort of equal. But when I think of this I actually think this is the world’s way of putting more on our plate. It’s giving us permission to do more as long as we balance it. It’s like the circus act where they have the plates on the top of poles and they have to keep them spinning and spinning. In order to be well rounded we are allowed to have all the plates as long as we keep them balanced.We need to release ourselves from the idea that you need to keep spinning and spinning those plates. We don’t need to be balanced cause in all reality we shouldn't have things proportioned. WE should have ALOT more of Jesus and time with Him in our day. That should NOT be equal with everything else. And I’m preaching to myself here friend.Some tough love questions for you....Are you giving more time to your phone than to God? Are you spending more time on Netflix or Youtube than in your word? Are you going out on the lake or staying home to watch football instead of spending time in His house on Sundays? I know these are hard questions….and I don’t mean to sound harsh. Do you feel a lack in your confidence as a woman of God? Maybe you don't even believe that you can feel confident in this area because of insecurities or a feeling of a lack of knowledge? Well guess what confidence in yoru walk with God is possible. When we know His goodness and understand His character we can know who we are in him and therefore walk with confidence. Period. Let your inner talk align with God’s word- again at the beginning I mentioned that to have the correct confidence we need to rely and trust in God and Him alone! But here are some practical things to help you get to that trust in Him.              Ditch insecurities- Insecurities def- uncertainty or anxiety about oneself; lack of confidence.We all deal with these insecure feelings and self doubt. Whether it is physical, emotional, mental…and we need to catch those thoughts/feelings and bring them to jesus! Because guess what? They aren’t from Him. We live in a broken fallen world so these mindsets are natural and the only freedom we can have from this is to give it to Jesus on the daily!Don’t compare yourself to othersRomans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.Develop spiritual disciplinesRead your bible, pray and worshipTake care of yourself!- INSIDE and OUT! I know as women and mamas we tend to take care of ourselves last. We are constantly serving and feeding others etc. AND alot of times we are more concern that our kids or even our hubs eat the best, and most healthiest foods  and we skip over ourselves! Am I right?? We need to Eat healthy, workout, get outside, do the things that YOU know will help fuel your physical body well. Luke 9:23-26Then he said to them all; Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants  to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when eh comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Today's encouragement is to remember that God should be first. We need to remember that HE is God and king of all. We need to remember to deny our own fleshly desires daily and submit our lives to Him! 

So today my quick encouragement is this. How do we put our faith into action? Do what the word says- James 1:25- Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves, do what it says. Any one who listens to the word but does not do what it says is liek someone who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. BUT whoever looks intently into perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it- not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it- they will be blessed in what they do.TO OBEY! Obedience- Have you ever used the phrase ‘first time obedience’ with your kiddos? I remember saying that to my kiddos over and over and over when they were little and to be honest my youngest(who is almost 12) hasnt’ quite got it down yet lol - See we are all a work in progress! Why do we teach first time obedience? Because if they can learn to obey us(their parents) they will have an easier time when it come to obedience with God! In 1 Samuel we find King Saul. He over time had begun to make decisions on his own…without the blessings of the Lord through Samuel the prophet. He sacrifices on his own with waiting for Samuel. Then he keeps plunder from the Amalekites in order to ‘sacrifice’ to the Lord. BUT God had said to kill everyone.  Samuel tells him ‘ Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better tahn sacrifice and to heed is better than the fat of rams. Do you ever find yourself in this situation? Doing what YOU ‘think’ is right but knowing that you haven’t obeyed God? Saul is not alone here… we can easily get caught up in our own things. Our own lives and desires.  Obedience is loving God and loving people. Obedience is following His commands. Obedience is our everyday prayer life and bible reading. Obedience is taking the word and doing what is says! In conclusion I’ll leave you with this verse: HEre we find JEsus and someone in the crowd yells out ‘ blessed is the mother who gave you birth!’ and Jesus replies…Luke 11:28- Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey itBe encouraged, challenged and blessed friend!!!You are invited to come join the KD membership! Have you ever felt like you have SO much on your plate but yet you don’t feel like you are actually accomplishing anything? Feeling like you are running in circles yet not quite finishing any tasks? You are not alone! I know for ME there are two contributing factors when I’m feeling this way. So i’m going to share those and a few ways to manage them :) So let’s do this!2 things here that I struggle with when it comes to feeling like I’m doing ALOT but not really at the same time is…- Not managing my  time wellNot finding contentment in just being who I am in Jesus!I know managing your time can seem overwhelming in itself, cause we like to stay busy and find our worth in our busyness and purpose in our efforts. And as you know my heart is to help you know that you can only find your TRUE worth in Jesus. Nothing we do or say can change who we are in Him. So when we stop the striving and just relax in His presence, allowing HIm to move and letting Him lead the way, we can release the stress of doing ‘enough’ throughout the day. Thinking on the things of God and not on our todo list. Focusing on His ways and not our own…this will bring us peace and true fulfilment throughout our day!“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”~ Philippians 4:8, NIVWays to manage these things: Get routines down. So whether you want to start with a morning routine or a night one or maybe an afternoon one, start a routine. Get yourself used to doing 3-5 things in those time frames.  Be content- I know I mentioned this last week when talking about discouragement but here we are again. We have to be content with WHO WE ARE in Jesus. We are feeling liek we aren’t enough and we aren’t doing enough because we aren’t putting our trust in Jesus and believing that He isn’t forcing to do lists on us.So much of His teaching is calling us to rest. - Matthew 11:28-Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.To be connected to Him- John 15:15- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.To come close. James 4:8-Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.Remember who you are in Him. Allowing Him to lead your day and trust that He is here to help you and walk the day out with you! Mark 3:20-30First- Jesus' family basically call him crazy. He was being questioned by those he would have seen as close relatives. So this points you back to your inner circle. Who do you allow to be in your close circle and who do you let in close? WE need to make sure WE are not divided as a person when we are serving God. Sometimes we doubt God’s promises when we don't see them come to pass right away. I can tell you that I have had prophetic words spoken over me that I’m still waiting for. AND I can tell you it is super discouraging and honestly disappointing when they don’t come right away or in the timing I would like.. BUT a lot of that came because I was expecting things or desiring things and they didn’t happen when i thought they should… and some didn’t happen at all. I’ve had  to learn to trust that God is in control and that He has my best interest at heart! And guess what when I lean into this belief there is such peace in the waiting!Ways we are discouraged and how to combat them!1) Wrong expectations-         When we start believing something is going to happen in our own timing or hoping our prayers will be answered a certain way, WE set ourselves up for disappointment because we aren’t pressing into God and HIS plan for whatever the circumstance may be. We are putting our situations on our own timeline…and honestly putting God in a box. The things God can do are so outside of our normal, and way beyond our understanding! So what do we do?We try to keep him in a safe place and in our control lol Cause when we have control we know what will happen(good or bad) right?. If we keep Him small the chance of disappointment is small. But honestly  this gives us a false sense of safety… do you understand what I mean?Here is some scripture to help you with trust today. Speak it out and reaffirm God’s truth in your heart and mind as you believe in His word! Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in teh land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you. Ps 37:3-52)Fear         Fear can literally cripple us. And alot of our control issues, that we talked about before, are stemmed from fear. Being afraid of losing control. Being afraid of the unexpected. Being afraid of being disappointed. When we are let down(or it doesn’t happen the way we were anticipating) we put up walls to keep us from from being hurt or disappointed again. Better to not hope for anything than to be let down right? Speak out God’s word- it is our sword right? Best weapon of choice!  this specific scripture out anytime you feel fear creeping in- 2 Timothy 1:7- God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mindThere is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.1 john 4:18Listen, disappointment is inevitable but that doens’t mean God isn’t faithful or true to His word. His ways are higher and He is God. He didn’t call us to have a perfect life. He just called us to trust, serve and live for Him. When we do this we can live a FULL life with joy! Matthew 5:43-48You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy' But I tell you , love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore as your Father is perfect. Notes in my bible- vs 49- The emphasis in the command to be perfect is not one flawless moral nature but on an all-inclusive love that seeks the good of all. Instead of following the example of sinners who love only those who love them, we are to be like the Father in also loving those who do not love us. It's easy to love those how love us but hard to love those that are difficult! But God is calling us to do hard things. To go against the flow, to do the opposite of the world and walk in HIS great love. Love is a choice and can't be based on our circumstances!Hurt people hurt people BUT healed people can also heal people through Jesus!! Loved people can love people! Quote from the google- Morning routines are like a super power. The few who take advantage of them will rise in their professional, personal, and spiritual lives. Because focus is a precious commodity, and mornings are one of the few occasions in our day where most of us actually have control over how we spend our time.Ps 5:3In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. TPT- At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart. Ps 143:8- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should god, for to you I entrust my life. Mark 1:35- Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Obviously this is easy for some than others. Those of us without kids we won’t feel as exhausted when it comes to getting less sleep than we already have had to begin with haha I’m speaking only about the toddlers and under stage. If you are in the teen stage and not getting sleep that is on YOU. Time for you to reflect and see what habits you can change so that you can get enough sleep to get up on time for Jesus moments! Even JESUS needed to get up and spend time with His father! Have you ever compared your life to others? Or wished you could be some place else? Some place that seemed better? Imagining your life in the greener grass? And then when you actually switched into a new place, a new house, new car, more kids, got married, whatever….you realized none of that makes you truly happy?Encouragement for you today!1) Enjoy the moment/stage of life/season you are in- Enjoy the now! Matthew 6:34- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow , for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.Don’t worry about what is coming and don’t strive to have better. Just appreciate what is right in front of you! Which of course brings me to Gratitude. Do you have a gratitude journal? IF not it’s TIME my friend. Start with 5 things for the day and move to 10! You will be surprised how quickly your perspective changes!! When we think on the things God HAS given us instead of things we wished we had…it changes our outlook and how we look at our lives. When we change our view on our own world don’t you think that will spill into our kids, husbands, friends, family, all our circle of influence? I’m here to tell you that it will! Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.This is an honest scripture with a really good question. When we are comparing our lives to others, are we seeking God’s approval or others? Something to really think about!! This is another way to shift our view on this subject. So next time you are on your fav social platform and you start to wish you were somewhere else or with someone else or had something better….think on this. Are you trying to win approval of God or man? Ok I know you are hearing and seeing all kinds of posts about ‘new start new year new goals new you…etc. And to be honest I have been excited for the new year. Something about starting over and having a fresh start sounds amazing. And there was nothing crazy bad about 2022. There were ALOT of things going on BUT also ALOT of amazing family time and growth! BUT it’s nice to know there is sort of a reset coming that can bring me back and help me focus. Especially after the Christmas season where we over indulge and tend to get lazy etc. (or maybe that is just me?? lol)And today I want to encourage you in the fresh start of 2023. Not to tell you that you should make these lofty goals of reading 5 chapters of the Bible a day, feed the homeless in your neighborhood, start making super healthy meals for your family every night, read more, shop less, serve at your church every week, etc etc etc. No I’m here to remind you of things that are new BECAUSE of Jesus. Ephesians 2:4But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been save, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.

STOP- just stop. Slow down. Enjoy the moments that are right in front of you. Stop comparing your life to others. Take time to be grateful for what YOU have!! Stop the hustle and bustle and busy. Bring all that to a halt and look at what is right in front of you. Stop scrolling and sit with your kids at a board game. Or have them help you make dinner, eat all together and have conversation and laughter fill your home. These small choices will help you to enjoy the little things and not stress about stuff that doesn’t matter.1 John 2:15-17- Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.     2. Say no- you don’t have to be at all the things- you don’t have to buy all the things. You don’t have to invite everyone over for all the things. Lol i give you permission to say no and just do the things you actually enjoy doing. 3. 1) Trust them but don’t. I mean let them earn your trust BUT also be smart and keep boundaries set in place so they don’t fail. We as their mamas want to set them up for success! If we put them in potential situations that could hinder their walk with the Lord OR give them a chance to fail then we are doing them a disservice.Matthew 6:22- The eye is the lamp of the body. Definition of Self Control- the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations.Through he Holy Spirit we have power over our fleshly desires. A person with self control maintains a lift of moderation and control. With the epidemic of comparison running rampant in our culture it is very easy to believe the lie that you are unqualified or unworthy for the call of God on your life. When I say ‘call’ I mean the plans that He has for you in this season and time. Which can change over time! BUT we all have a calling to share Jesus with others. Whether that be in our homes, at work, serving in our church….He has placed us in our specific circle for a reason and plan! Isn’t that exciting! Again with comparison being an issue we can very easily look at others and desire their circle…their circle of friends, their circle of influence, their circle of community, their church circle… but IF you have been seeking God, and IF you are surrendered to Him then you are right where you are supposed to be. You are the only YOU which means YOu are perfect to reach the people around you in this specific season. SO lean into that and ask God to help you see that there is a need for YOU in your circle! Also, side note…if you are desiring better friendships, better community etc…make it happen! Jump into community online or go to your women’s bible study at church. We are a selfish people. Naturally we come into the world with sin. I mean it doesn’t take long for a child to learn the word ‘mine’ and fight for things to belong to them. We have to be taught to share or care or put others first. This isn’t our natural tendency. But are you enough? The answer is no. Which sounds harsh and against culture. The culture says that you want more. We are sinful creatures in need of a savior. I know that is hard to swallow and hopefully it doesn’t sound harsh. I’m here with ya friend! I’m constantly needing to be reminded that I NEED Jesus.BUT there is good news!!! WITH JESUS we are enough.   In HIM we are filled. In HIM we have victory- 1 Corinthians 15:57- 'but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ'; in HIM we have freedom- Galatians 5:1 '​It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery'; in HIM we have peace- Philippians 4:6 'Instead, in every situation with prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. Having a relationship with God is a choice. We have the choice how we want to respond to Him, how we want to pursue relationship with Him, how much we want to know His word, How much time we will spend with Him, It’s a choice. So many times we run to God when we want something Or need something. We beg him for a new job or house or favor in a situation but when it doesn’t happen how we want we question Him and blame Him and then that gives us reason to neglect our relationship because He ‘obviously’ doesn’t really love me etc. LIES FROM the enemy!!!Today I encourage you to put Jesus first. Today I'm giving my thoughts on breaking off fear and walking in confidence as a daughter of the king!! He loves you beautiful woman of God!! 1 John 4:18- There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.Fear is NOT from GodFear can hold you hostage- when we partner with fear we aren’t walking in God’s perfect love. We are listening to an imposter…the master manipulator. We are allowing counterfeit exchanges to take place.God’s love is a beautiful unexplainable exchange. We give nothing in exchange for unfailing and unending love! Boom mind blown. It’s like trying to buy something with counterfeit money- it’s fake and worth nothing. have you ever had someone check your bills before? 3 ways to keep you moving forward in confidence in your God given purposes today!!God has purpose for you! What should you do when something interrupts your plans? 1.Don’t freak out. I think when we are jolted out of our regular patterns it can cause us to freak out a bit. We can start to let worry fill our hearts and be overtaken by fear of the unknown or what could happen. When we are living disconnected from God, it is easy to freak out because we are forgetful creatures and can easily forget what He has done and brought us through- journaling is super helpful with this! Write down the things God has done so you can go back to it when you are going through a rough patch. Trust God- if we aren’t rooted in Him…knowing who we are in Him and who HE is to us               that alarm will literally knock us off our high horse and we will be bruised from the                       fall…doesn’t mean we can’t get back up again but I’d rather not be throw at all, am I                     right?Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding..in all your ways acknowledge Him and HE will direct your paths3. Don’t stress if you don’t get it right, right away. We are human…we make mistakes ALOT. Today I was reading in Mark 9 about how the disciples were walking with Jesus and he asked them what they were arguing about…they didn’t want to tell him because they were arguing about who was the greatest….haha isn’t that hilarious? Even the men who were UBER close to Jesus in the flesh…couldn’t put down their own fleshly desires and competition! So receive grace from Jesus my friend. He knows our weaknesses and still loves us. But learn from your mistakes and move forward for the next time an alarm startles you!!

Today's episode is talking about comparison and here are a few things to help you break free from comparison and walk in freedom! 1)Take a social media break! Socials are so awesome. They connect people and can be a lot of fun and super entertaining BUT they can also create some crazy comparison issues. Looking at people’s ‘best’ lives of everyone can cause some serious emotional instability when we are seeing what others are doing and what we are not. Hebrews 12:1 2) Have in person relationships & build community! Seeing people in their 'real life' will help you see that most of us have struggles and will help you not feel so alone!3) Start a gratitude journal! When you count your blessings and remember what you DO have and not what you don’t have then when the lies of comparison come it won’t be so easy to attach to! Start by writing 5-8 things you are grateful for from today before you go to bed or right when you wake up! Make it routine!4) Know that your ultimate purpose is to be known by God and make Him knownWe are constantly striving for the world’s standards…having lots of friends and making them happy or making them ‘like’ us or the things we do. Working towards world goals of wealth or fame. Or even being the best mom at your kids school! We set standards for ourselves based on what others are doing and where they are in life…what cars we drive, what kind of houses we have, what clothes we wear, what kind of mom we are-do we feed them healthy food or not?Matthew 6:33- Seek Jesus first! The concept of hearing from God can be overwhelming and frustrating. How do you know His voice? How can you even hear it? Why does He speak clearly to some but not others? This is a deep conversation that I know I’ve struggled with over the years. I don’t have all the answers cause guess what? God is a beautiful mystery. And I don’t believe we are supposed to know all the answers til we can chat with Him about it in heaven because our life is a journey of discovery! Learning to dive deep into who God is day after day and finding new amazing things each day! We will never quite fully understand His ways BUT I think that is what makes the relationship so exciting! His mercies are new every morning! He is the lion AND the lamb. He is Alpha AND omega. He’s a beautiful mystery that we get to learn from everyday! So even though I don't have the answers I have a few ideas and things I’ve learned to share with you :) I have 3 questions to get you pondering this question- how can i hear from God? Walking with the Lord isn't always easy. It can seem overwhelming and exhausting at times! BUT it doesn't have to be that way. Do you ever feel like you're just barely staying a float? Running, running, running and doing the same things over and over. Sometimes life can feel mundane and repetitive, am I right? And I don't know about you but it can be hard to find joy in the midst of it all!Today I have a fun conversation with my friend Shannon on this very topic. Joy in the everyday! I hope this encourages you today! Shannon is a homeschooling mom of 4 kiddos, 2 of which are on the autism spectrum, and another has a rare genetic disorder.  She is a chaos-manager of the household and loves spending time with her family and friends.  She has been married to her best friend and love of her life, Evan, since 2010 and is thankful for the people that God has brought into her life. Shannon is ALSO a survivor of abuse in all of it's forms, an advocate for women that are hurting, and a super passionate Christian.  Because let's be real y'all, without Jesus there wouldn't even be a Shannon in the first place.

Today is part two on the subject of resting in God's presence. Finding peace in just sitting with Him!Moses and the Israelites left Egypt and were being chased by the Egyptians. They found themselves backup to the sea and started to complain about their situation. But Moses told them to trust in the Lord and BE STILL. He was telling them to calm down and believe that God would take care of them. AND guess what? God DID take care of them! He caused the seas to part and the Israelites were able to walk to the other side like nobodies business! When we slow down and breathe in God's presence, HE will take care of the rest. He will lead and guide our steps throughout the day. HE will take care of our to do list!Be encouraged in this today my friend!! Have a wonderful week!! Let's talk about REST! Actively resting with the Lord brings peace and joy!When we sit with Jesus we learn to hear His voice and can rest in His arms. He can carry our burdens and bring us inner healing!Rest is good for our physical bodies but I'm not talking about that- even though it's important- I"m talking about rest in the LORD! Slowing down to learn to hear His voice. Just sitting with Jesus without distractions.In this crazy world with all the things coming at us we need to quiet our souls so we can hear God's voice over the noise of the world!God is calling us to lay down our burdens and He will give us rest in Him.
