In previous programs, we looked at the meaningless toil of those who live without God. Now let us look at the conduct of the believer. The Bible teaches that companionship is to be highly valued on earth.

The unbeliever lives as though there is no God. He has no justice, no future, no rest, no comfort. The world stands in rebellion against God. But there is a better world coming, where there will be no suffering or death.

In this part of the Bible book of Ecclesiasthes, the write describes the world from the perspective of the unbeliever. But there is going to be a day of judgement when Jesus returns.

The concept of Eternity is certainly difficult to fathom. What does it mean that God has "set this concept in our hearts?"

This passage of the Bible speaks about the passage of time. What can we learn from this?

Last week we followed the writer of Ecclesiastes in his search for happiness and satisfaction. What did he find? What were his conclusions?

The pursuit of happiness consumes us all. In the verses from Ecclesiastes that we look at today, the writer goes on to explore different areas of life in search of happiness and satisfaction.

“After all your hard work, what do you have to show for it in the end?” We have a brief look at the futility of Nature, and of History, as described in the Bible book of Ecclesiastes, the first chapter."

Many of us have asked: “What is the point of everything, of living? What is the purpose of everything?”. We look at the Scriptures, seeking an answer to these questions.

Psalm 131 is a beautiful psalm of trust in the Lord. David, the psalmist, describes his calm contentment in his trust in God. This is our example.

Psalm 131 is very short, but it beautifully instructs us how to trust in God, in all humility. The opposite of humility is pride, and pride is something that the Bible warns against.

The writer of this psalm is looking forward to travelling to Jerusalem to worship. Likewise, our journey through life is often difficult, but ends in a great blessing. Blessed is the man who trusts in his God.

The psalmist expresses his longing to worship God in his temple. Historically, the Israelites all travelled to Jerusalem a few times per year for worship.

It sometimes seems that those who do wrong prosper, when Christians may suffer. Instead of worrying about this, this Psalm tells us to trust in the Lord, and put our lives in His hands.

Through this Psalm, we can learn much about how to deal with life when we feel that people or circumstances are against us.

Last wek we looked at how David prayed for God's Help in Psalm61. Now lets look at how he also prays for God's Protection and for God's Kingdom to come.

Prayer can be difficult, and we sometimes need help. Psalm 61 may well serve as a model for our prayers to God when we are in trouble. Here David first prays for God's help, then for His protection, and then for his Kingship.

We have seen that Psalm 30 is primarily a psalm of thanksgiving. In this Psalm, king David confesses his pride and over-confident self-sufficiency. Divid's sin caused God to turn away from David until he confessed his sin in prayer.

This is a psalm about deliverance, and about replacing weeping with rejoicing and celebration. In this Psalm, David calls all of us to praise God for His mercy.

Psalm 23 tells us that the Lord provides all our needs, he guides us in all our ways, and He blesses us all our days.

The words of Psalm 23 have given strength to suffering Christians for centuries. It is a Psalm about the Good Shepherd, our Lord Himself, Who is Shepherd over us.

We are on this earth to bring praise and glory to God. After all, we were made in the image of God. Psalm 8 gives us an insight into this mystery.

What is your reason for living on earth? There is little happiness or satisfaction in a life lived for selfish pleasure. But when you believe that we are here to honour, praise and worship God, this is what makes life worth living.

Jesus describes Himself as a Vine, and the believers as branches. Christians who are connected to Christ will grow and bear much fruit.

"I am the Vine" was another metaphor that Jesus used to describe Himself, as recorded in the Gospel of John. We will delve into this and discover what He meant. If we are connected to Him by our faith, then wew too can bear good fruit.

Jesus tells his disciples that he is the Way, and the Truth and the Life. This week we look at the second two - Truth and Life - of these reassurances. In modern understanding, absolute truth no longer exists. People want multiple choice questions where there are many "correct" answers.

When Jesus revealed Himself to the Jews with these words they wanted to stone Him for blaspheming. This week we look at this aspect of Jesus' ministry on earth.

Jesus not only promises us salvation, but also fullness of life, if we believe that he is the Messiah sent from God.

In the gospel of John, Jesus describes Himself as the gate through Whom we can reach eternal life. Those who do not enter through Him, are described as thieves and robbers.

By declaring that He was there when Abraham lived on earth, Jesus tells us that He is God. We look at this question further.

In the gospel of John, Jesus tells the Jews that he was there when Abroham was bord. How can this be?

We look again at the statement of Jesus that He is the Light of the world, and his invitation to follow Him. We can be sure that He is a reliable guide. Those who follow Jesus will never walk in darkness.

Jesus said: "I am the Light of the world". In saying this, Jesus makes the claim to be God. And one of the Psalms says: "The Lord is my Light and my Salvation." Will you let Jesus light up your world with His eternity?

When Jesus calls Himself the Bread of Life, he is referring to the quote from the Old Testament: "man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord". Whoever eats of this bread will have eternal life.

After Jesus miraculously feeds a crowd of 500, he gets into a conversation with them about the "Bread of Life". We all need more than just physical sustenance.

Examining the miracle of the raising of Lazarus from the dead, from the book of John, we see that Jesus expresses all the emotions of sadness that any human being would. This proves His human nature. And yet, with His Devine power He raised lazarus.

We examine the story (from the book of John) of the death and resurrection of Lazarus. In Jesus' own words, here is another example of an event that God specifically caused to happen so that God's Son might be glorified.

This week we look at the attitude and response of the man who had been blind since birth, to his healing by Jesus. He also came to Faith through his healing, and through the Scriptures. Jesus not only healed his sight, but also his soul.

We look closely at the healing of the blind man by the Son of God. This miracle showed the power of Jesus. Jesus is the Light of the world.

There are lessons for us to learn from this miracle. It was part of God's plan for this man to be born blind, then for Jesus to walk past him, see him, and heal him. This man then came to believe in Jesus as the Son of God.

Last week we talked about Jesus walking on the water. This story teaches us that Jesus is Divine and confirms that He is the Almighty Creator. It is impoortant that we must trust Him, as an aspect of our Faith.

We look more closely at the time when Jesus walked on the waters of the Sea of Galilee to catch up with His disciples, who had crossed ahead of Him in a boat.

Last week we considered the free lunch provided by Jesus to a large crowd. This week we ask: "How did the crowd respond to this miracle?" The recognised Jesus as "The Prophet that was to come", the Messiah.

Jesus' second miracle involves the healing of the son of a royal official. The miracles of God are evidence of the truth of his word, but they do not always produce faith in those who see them.
