Unlocking Resiliency to Find Meaning Beyond Your Uniform with Green Beret and NFL Veteran Nate Boyer Ep 232

How Do We Create Meaning Beyond The Uniform? Nate Boyer shows us just that today. For those not familiar with Nate’s story, he is an Army Green Beret, philanthropist, humanitarian, and former football plater for University of Texas. At 34, Nate became the oldest  rookie in NFL history while playing with the Seattle Seahawks. Nate’s unique experience of finding himself a part of both the professional athlete and veteran community, shapes a lot of the work he does now. Having seen how both communities can often struggle to create a meaningful life once their uniforms were laid down, Nate joined up with Jay Glazer to found Merging Vets & Players, or MVP for short. MVP helps tackle the transition struggles through workouts and workshops that provide the space for both parties to tap back into who they’ve always been. Today we discuss his movie, MVP which highlights a lot more of how the organization came to be. We dive into discovering new perspective on grit, managing the adversities we all face in our lives, and how we can start to create more meaning in our life. Training Your Inner World For A Better Outer World Ep 146

Interoception, our ability to sense the inner sense of the body, is the key to unlocking a better outer world around us. Aka our ability to correctly tune into the station in order to better hear the music. Have you ever listened to the radio and the song was super static filled? This might be a serious TBT for some of you, but believe it or not, not all audio was always crystal clear, there would often times be feedback or static blocking the signal from clearly getting through. Our interoception awareness is our mind’s ability to clearly hear the signaling our body is trying to tell us. Getting Comfortable in Your Own Skin with Matt Mullenax Ep 137

Today we are joined by the founder and CEO of Huron, former Brown football player, Matt Mullenax. Matt grew up a kid with bad skin, something I as a swimmer can relate to. As an athlete, his skin took a beating. Between football helmets and sweaty workout clothes, he wasn’t doing himself, or his skin, many favors. Finally, in his late 20s, he began to experiment with some more premium products and his skin started to respond positively. But he couldn’t justify spending $70 or more on personal care products. The spark was there – to create a brand that offered products that would work just as well as super-premium brands but offered at approachable price points. After spending time at Bonobos in his early days, he witnessed first-hand what it meant to build a brand around a customer. Huron was built with the same mentality. We talk: -How we feel figuratively and literally in our own skin -Increasing Confidence -How he's built Huron from the start Go check out Huron at www.usehuron.com and use code CCAMP20 at checkout for 20% off! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cory-camp/message

Your Life Playbook: Finding Success and Flow in Everyday Life through Rules and Routines Ep. 128

Welcome to another Mindful Monday solo jam sesh and where we explore with you how we can use your life playbook, the rules and routines in your life, to help you get into more flow everyday. I think one of the things I missed the most when swimming ended was having a clear governing rule in place that applied to every situation I was in. From the moment I started taking the sport seriously in 6th grade until I graduated college, I was able to look at every situation through the lens of “how will this effect my performance in the pool?” The one rule of all rules I had for myself was always make the decision that meant I’d get better as a swimmer. How do we re-create that rule book for beyond sport? That's what we dive into on the later half of today's episode.
