Learning how to learn - EMP344

Farmer versus warrior mindset - EMP343

The warrior vs. the farmer. I think it's great to have a little bit of both in you, but that being a farmer is more sustainable. The warrior has to attack and "eat what they kill" which provides a quick win at times but requires you to go out and do that repeatedly. If you take the time to plant seeds like a farmer, you will reap a harvest over time and have an abundance of food, success, etc. Connect with Chris:  https://linktr.ee/chrisbello

Comparison is the thief of joy - EMP342

Comparison is the thief of joy. There will always be someone out there who has more, appears to be more successful, and so on. We can shift our paradigm by looking at those who are less fortunate than us and aren't doing as well. That helps us realize how much we likely have to be grateful for. Be the resource - EMP340

Be the resource to others. You can always teach others and share your knowledge, or you can even be the one to organize events or calls for like-minded people. Recently, I've been able to add value to others by simply organizing Zoom calls and allowing people to meet up via my personal link. So many of those attendees have thanked me for doing this and adding value by simply being the one to take initiative. I, too, get value from these calls, but I get extra "kudos" for actually setting them up.  Connect with Chris:  https://linktr.ee/chrisbello

The 10-year overnight success - EMP335

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as an overnight success. It's more likely that any real success is a "10-year overnight success." Who Not How - EMP287

In this episode, I share some breakthroughs I had from the book "Who Not How" by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy.  When we ask ourselves "how" to do something, we immediately create problems for us to solve. When we ask "who" can solve something for us, they figure out the how and we get results.  This really helped me shift my thinking to continuing to find the right WHO to do the HOW.  Who Not How on Amazon: https://amzn.to/38iO7Ps  Connect with Chris:  https://linktr.ee/chrisbello

We learn about the importance of constantly challenging oneself as an entrepreneur or simply as a person. Have we been oversold on the notion that you always have to do what you’re passionate about? Sam thinks so. In fact, he believes that you can pick up passion along the way, just as long as you’re moving. Achieving success and monetizing your skills through branding with Henry Kaminski, Jr. - EMP239

Takeaways from a recent book I read - EMP213

I recently read Essentialism by Greg McKeown and really loved it. The importance of thinking time - EMP187

Things stack up fast and our to-do list is neverending. Oftentimes, we are running from one thing to the next (or in 2020, from one Zoom call to the next). Life reflection now that I'm thirty years old - EMP181

I'm 30, but not quite a millionaire just yet. However, it's pretty cool to say that it is my best month in real estate and the most personal income I've earned so far (so I guess I'm on the right track).  Continue to set goals and push as hard as you can, and don't get discouraged if you don't hit some. Work / life balance doesn't really exist - EMP179

Work life balance doesn't really exist. It's always a give and take. Sometimes you have to do a little more of one thing and less of another. Priority management - EMP177

"Lack of planning on your part does NOT constitute an emergency on my part."  A lot of times, especially in a corporate role, we are given deadlines and things that are "urgent." The funny thing is that these things that are supposedly urgent could have been less so if it simply brought to your attention earlier.  Lack of planning creates unnecessary emergencies and stress. For this reason, priority management is key in ensuring problems are discovered and addressed in a timely manner.  Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Toxic Positivity - EMP163

This episode dives into toxic positivity (what it is, things to look out for, etc.). This is a phrase I just heard of in my first therapy / coaching session and a smirk appeared on my phase when I learned about it. I'm totally guilty at times of being overly optimistic / dismissive of negative emotions. Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Update on my first therapy session - EMP162

In this episode, I share how my first therapy / coaching session went. She also gave me some homework for me to do before we meet next, which I touch on as well. Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Why I signed up for my first therapy session - EMP160

In this episode I share why I signed up for my first therapy session. I never really considered myself as someone who "needs therapy" (and I still don't to be honest).  I am looking more for a coaching lean to help me break through barriers or limiting beliefs. That's what I'm hoping to achieve through these sessions.  I will create another episode soon to give my feedback and takeaways.  Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

A lesson from a new coaching client - EMP158

In this episode, I share a valuable lesson I learned from a new coaching client of mine (we all are able to teach and learn from each other).  The lesson was that perceived value is a huge thing. The more clients pay, the more rational they are and the less they second guess you. "Life gets easier and you make more money."  Wow. Huge takeaway! I offered to coach him at a certain price and he offered to pay more. Belief is the first step - EMP156

I recently read "Zero to One" by Peter Thiel, and one quote that really stood out said that "If you think something hard is impossible, you'll never even start trying to achieve it."  Belief is the first step. Reminder to myself...practice gratitude DAILY - EMP155

Today's episode is about how we need to practice gratitude daily. I've spoken about gratitude before, but sometimes we need a reminder.  It's easy to focus on just the negative things, or not realize how amazing some things really are in our lives. I'm guilty of this personally. Things I'm doing now seem normal to me, but a year ago, I would have been ecstatic to be where I am now (the target is always moving).  Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Creating processes and checklists - EMP153

In this episode, I dive into the importance of processes and checklists. So many times, we get caught up in doing things off of memory.  It can seem like a waste of time to put things into a checklist, especially if they are seemingly simple.  However, as your business grows and life gets busier, it gets harder to remember everything. Documenting your processes ensures you have systems and place and allows you to hire or outsource work.  Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Just in time versus just in case learning - EMP151

In this episode, I dive into the difference between "just in time" learning and "just in case learning."  "Just in time" stems from lean manufacturing used by Toyota. They use the "just in time" inventory approach to order parts right as they need them. This helps minimize storage costs, inventory, etc.  Similarly, utilizing just in time for learning allows you to learn information right as you need it, where as just in case learning may take up time and brain power for information you may not need any time soon if ever.  Download my free guide on Productivity Hacks I recommend by visiting https://chrisbello.com/free

Omnipresence in marketing 2020 - EMP114

In this week's episode, I discuss omnipresence in marketing, which continues to be important as 2020 approaches.   I also cover some tips I learned from a recent podcast from the Gary Vee Audio Experience.  You have to be everywhere when it comes to marketing. Looking back at 2019 - EMP113

In this week's episode, I reflect on my progress and challenges in 2019. I've grown so much in some areas but not as quickly as others.  I've sharpened my mental toughness, I've dialed in my morning routine, and I've implemented solid routines to keep me on track.  However there's the lows as well. For example, I'm not quite creating consistent income that I'm proud of yet. There's been several ups and downs, and many false starts.  The main takeaway is to show up every single day and put in 100% effort. You will improve, even if it takes a bit longer than desired.  This episode is brought to you by BlueHost. You can get an introductory offer for just $3.95 by visiting my link. What's the end goal? 2. Set huge goals in the area you choose. Know what numbers you need to hit. What does success look like? Take time to define that. 3. Stop saying the phrase “could have done” - EMP052

Today I want to talk about the phrase "could have done" and why I really hate hearing those three words in that order.  Instead of thinking "I could’ve done this or that," ask yourself "what can I do in the future to do this better? How can I prevent a certain problem from happening again? How can I improve my situation?" Asking yourself what you could have done gives you feelings of regret and probably brings up negative emotions. When you look at what you can do in the future, you invoke feelings of hope and positivity. You can't change the past. But you can act in the present to change your life today and shape your future.  Less Dreaming, More Doing. Contact me directly or check out my blog at chrisbello.com.
