In this message, we look at the life of Elijah. Elijah's life reminds us to stand up against idolatry, and see if there are idols in our own lives - things that take God's place in our lives. He has to be foremost, and loved above all, for He is God. 

In this sermon series we are looking at the life of prophets, how it echoes the life of Jesus, and how we can apply these lessons in our lives. Based on the life of Moses, we look at three key questions: What are we slaves of? What slavery do we oppose? Are we willing to make a change?  If you want something different, you’re going to have to do something different.

This is the last sermon in the Philippians sermon series, and shows us how our faith and joy are interconnected. We are partners in safeguarding faith, and must guard our faith from being eroded by disagreement, distress and dissatisfaction. We have to choose daily to move towards unity, peace and contentment and thus guard our faith and our joy.

Based on Chapter 3 of Paul's letter to the Philippians, this sermon highlights that we are joyful because we are people who truly know Jesus and are in an on-going growing relationship with Him. This joyful relationship should spur us to run with perseverance the race that is set before us, focusing on Christ the the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

In the second sermon in this series based on Philippians 2, we look at how we have been called as Christians to be focused on the mission, be other-focused and be willing to serve joyfully. Jesus set us an example in this and Paul encourages us to follow in His path that we might truly be shining stars in this world.

This is the first sermon in this series, where we look at the book of Philippians. We are called to be partners in the gospel business - to share the good news of Jesus Christ through our lives. The business is all about relationship- our relationship with God and with others. We are called to live as citizens of heaven, here on earth but we do not do this with our own strength but with God's help.

In the final sermon in this series, we look at our relationships with others. Do our relationships spur us to move forward in what God has called us to do? How are we influencing others and how are they influencing us?

In this second part of this sermon series, we look at how our response to our calling, commitments and challenges is dependent  on whether we are drawing close to God or drifting away from Him. We explore this by looking into the lives of David & Saul and they challenge both of them faced. How are we doing? Listen more to see how we can apply this to our own lives.

At the beginning of a new year, we make resolutions but sometimes we find it difficult to keep up with them. This year we want to focus on becoming  better versions of ourselves by drawing closer to God through community, prayer, reading the word, serving and worship.

During Christmas, we often hear and speak about the visit of the Wise Men who came to see the infant Jesus. However the bleak story of Herod and his decision to kill babies who were living in Jerusalem as an attempt to get rid of Jesus is often over looked and rarely spoken during Christmas. Yet this story is a reminder of why Jesus had to come to this earth to overcome evil. Even in our world today, where we still see injustice especially against the vulnerable we are reminded of our need for a Saviour.

In  this last sermon in our Advent series, we focus on the angels message to the shepherds as they told them the good news of Jesus' birth. God provided us a Saviour in Jesus Christ so that we can overcome the bondage of sin and live as children of God. 

In this second sermon in our Advent Series, "Fear Not" we look at the life of Joseph and the circumstance when the angel told him to "Fear Not". Joseph had fears, and they were reasonable fear too,, but he chose to listen to God rather than to his fears. That's the example he sets for us to follow- will we listen to our fears and or will we listen to God and move forward?

This advent message speaks about our fears in following God's plan in our lives. We often consider them us interruptions to our own well laid out plans, but God has a bigger purpose and plan, and He invites us to participate in these plans. Could we start looking at God's plan as an invitation rather than as an interruption? 

In the final chapter of the book of Jonah, we come to understand the main themes of the book- mercy & justice. We often want mercy for ourselves but justice when others wrong us. God reminds us through Jonah His mercy and His call for us to be merciful to others just as He has been merciful to us. This message concludes by asking some difficult questions for us to ponder on - Do I truly know and believe that I need mercy as much as the next person? Am I willing to see God extend mercy to those who are my enemies? 

Jonah Chapter 3 provides us the hope of second chances and many other chances that God gives us as we learn to walk in His ways. God can do anything for anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Based on the second Chapter of Jonah, this message focuses on Jonah's prayer in his plight and provides us with a framework for prayer. It reminds us to move closer to God in our pain, to remember Him in our fears, and to confess His goodness. 

This new sermon series is based on the book of Jonah. Unlike other prophetic books, this book focuses on the life of Jonah, the prophet. When God calls Jonah to warn the people of Ninevah, he chooses to disobey and runaway from God. We can relate to many of his actions and responses in that we tend to runway from callings that make us uncomfortable, even if we know it is God who called us. Yet, God is compassionate, and he causes circumstances to change so that Jonah responds. What calling from God might make us uncomfortable? What do we run away from?

This is the last sermon in the "It's personal" sermon series, and looks at the life of Mary & Martha and their interaction with Jesus. We can learn some practical lessons from this interaction- the importance of knowing and serving, and the importance of resting and confronting. However, we usually tend to swing towards either side of this continuum, and this sermon reminds us to balance it. Service should flow from a Christ-centered life; service does not produce a Christ-centered life. 

Continuing in our "It's Personal" series, we focus on Jesus' personal encounters with people as He lived here on earth. His interaction with the woman caught in adultery displays his compassion, mercy and love for sinners, and those that the world rejects. His responses not only gives us hope that we are accepted and forgiven, but it also encourages and spurs us to be merciful to those around us, especially those rejected by others. 

The fifth sermon in the "It's personal" sermon series, this sermon focuses on Nicodemus' encounter with Jesus. It assures us that God loves us although He knows us, so we have nothing to hide from him and we can come to Him just as we are. We can have a personal relationship with Him if we come to Him and believe in Him. 

In this sermon, we look again at the Gospel of Mark and through the stories of two individuals see how Jesus connects personally with people and their faith in Him. In the midst of our deepest troubles no one can be trusted as much as loving savior and a good God.

This is the third sermon in the "It's personal" sermon series, and is based on Jesus' encounter with the paralyzed man as his friends bring him to Jesus for healing. Jesus' priorities and responses throughout this gospel is sometimes surprising and not what we would expect. Through his encounters with people, and his actions he was revealing that he was indeed the Messiah, yet most of those in the crowd were not able to recognize Him or respond to Him for who He is. How would we respond if we were one among them? How would we respond to Him if He asked us to do something today for Him in our world?

This is is the second message in our sermon series 'It's personal" and talks about Jesus' personal encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. We learn from this interaction that when Jesus was open to the road less traveled, willing to take a risk and walked the extra mile, he was  able to have  a deeper and divine conversation with the woman. This led her to believe in Jesus as thee messiah, as well as the whole town hearing about the good news of Jesus Christ. Our Fall sermon series, "It's Personal" focuses on Jesus' personal encounters with people in the gospels. Zacchaeus was a tax collector, and not someone who was socially accepted by those around him, yet Jesus calls him by name and chooses to go to his home. Jesus' presence brings about conviction and transformation in his life. The message encourages us to let Jesus in into our lives, to pay attention to those around us who are not accepted or we think are unworthy, so that through our lives we can bring others to Jesus. 

Based on Psalm 90, a Psalm of Moses, this sermon urges us to recognize the sovereignty of God, He is eternal and infinite and we are created to serve Him. Our time on earth is marked by brevity. In the light of this recognition, we are moved to pray to "teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom".

Based on Psalm 71, this Psalm is a reminder for everyone  that with God's help we can be useful in our old age and speak to the next generation about God's faithfulness even in the midst of sufferings . For those of us who are not there yet, it is  a reminder to cultivate a habit of recognizing God's presence while we are still young, determining to praise God in all circumstances, making personal preparations for growing old and getting acquainted with someone older and getting to know them better. 

Based on Psalm 46, this message and the Psalm clearly leads us to understand why even in the midst of struggles and turmoils we can be still and know that He is God. 

Based on Psalm 121, this message reminds us to put our hope in the Creator rather than on His creation.  As we learn to put our hope in Him in this pilgrim's journey, God, our keeper will take us to our final destination, our eternity with Him. Our help comes from YAHWEH, the maker of Heaven and Earth!

Based on Psalm 100, this message reminds us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, the Almighty God who sustains us and loves us. If we take time to know God and experience His goodness personally, we will have more reasons to make a melody to him each day, and have a continual heart of gratitude. What melody will you create for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords today?

Based on Psalm 116, the message reminds us to cultivate a grateful heart even in the midst of suffering. As we acknowledge our problem, recognize God's power and faithfulness, and resolve to Worship Him and meditate on His promises, we will begin to have  a grateful heart. It is certain that we will face physical and emotional pain as long as we remain in this mortal body. The gratefulness of our heart should remain in the fact that God truly loves us and cares for us.

Based on Psalm 23, this sermon dares us to rest in God's truth and overcome our greatest fears- even the fear of death, knowing that God is our good shepherd and we have everything we need.

Based on Psalm 86, this message focuses on the purpose and meaning on prayer, and what we can learn from David's prayer in the midst of difficult circumstances. We learn that the purpose of prayer is to express our need for God, acknowledge His uniqueness, and to learn His ways. Doing so will help us find meaning in prayer by helping us understand God's character and  anticipate His favour and deliverance.

There's joy in the presence of God, and this joy will remain even in the midst of changing circumstances. We can come to His presence because of Jesus Christ and this invitation is open to all.

Our summer sermon series is based on the book of Psalms. Based on Psalm 1, this sermon is about the two ways we can choose to live our lives, and the outcome of these choices.

Based on Acts 28, the sermon reminds us of the importance of trusting God even in the midst of trials and moving forward in fulfilling what God has asked us to do. It tells us to rest in God's promises, resolve to be useful despite the circumstances and to remain faithful to our calling.

On the day of Pentecost, the first disciples were filled with God's Holy Spirit, and it is the power of the Holy Spirit that enabled them to preach the gospel to all even in the midst of persecutions and hardships. It is the same power that is available to us today to fulfill the purpose of the church, in reaching out to today's generation and world with the good news of the gospel.

Based on Acts 15, this sermon reminds us again that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone, and it is full of truth and full of grace. The gospel unites us together as we accept God's truth and His word, and receive others graciously. It is this grace and truth that unite us and help spread the gospel in every culture and in every generation. 

Based on Acts 16, this sermon reminds us that God continues to provide vision to the Church to move the gospel forward. In the first century church, Paul had a vision to reach out to the people of Macedonia and his obedience helped many people in the region hear and accept the good news of Jesus Christ. As a church, we have been given the vision to embrace, equip and engage  with our community, and reach out to this generation  with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Based on Acts 10, the sermon focuses on the story of Peter & Cornelius and reminds us not to call anything impure that God has made clean. Are there people in our lives that we consider unworthy of God's love and forgiveness? God shows no favoritism and His love and salvation is for all. 

Based on the response of the first century church to persecution in their times, this message reminds us in our current culture to have the boldness to communicate the truth of the gospel and to say it beautifully, not belligerently.

In the midst of persecution, the first century church chose to pray and seek God's help in continuing to fulfill His purpose here on earth- to share the good news of Jesus. We are encouraged to pray for boldness to witness and to share the truth in this generation too.

The story of Paul's experience on the Damascus road, and his transformation thereafter clearly show the impact of Christ's Resurrection on individual lives in the first century. His resurrection continues to transform lives as we trust and obey. By trusting and obeying we will experience this Big transformation in our own lives and in our churches even today, but are we ready to take risks - to trust Christ and obey Him?

As humans with free will we have the choice to choose between life or death, following Jesus or others, and heeding the message of the Gospel or ignoring it. Jesus has promised us a rich and satisfying life- a life of forgiveness, reconciliation and hope. What would you choose?

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowd greeted him as "Messiah" and shouted 'Hosanna". Many among the crowd soon became disappointed when they realized that he was not the political Messiah who would free them. Do we become disappointed with Him,  when He does not meet our expectations? How do we continue in faith in the midst of doubts and disappointments? Listen to find out more. 

This message is part of the All or Nothing sermon series, is based on John 12:1-8, and looks closely at our motives for serving Christ- not just what we do but why we do it. The stark contrast in motivations is reflected  in Judas' and Mary's interactions with Jesus. Mary shows how we can trust Jesus so we can be generous in our service to Him and to others. For Judas, it was all about him, and for Mary it was all about Jesus. What is our motive in serving Jesus?

Based on Luke 15:11-32, this message tells how we have been separated from God by two ways: ours sins and our righteousness. There is only way to the Father, through Jesus Christ, the true elder son.

All or Nothing Series (Part 3)Based on Luke 9, this message focuses on how God has placed eternity in the hearts of people. We have been provided glimpses of eternity here on earth, and it reminds us to trust in Jesus in this journey, knowing he will lead us to eternal life. 

In this second part of the lent series "All or Nothing", we focus on trusting God's plan even when it does not make sense to us. Jesus demonstrated His trust in God by being obedient and being willing to die on the cross, so that the Father's will would be fulfilled. His example prompts us to say, "not my will, but your be done", as we trust in Him and in His plans.

This is the first sermon in the "All or Nothing- Trusting God in the journey" series. It introduces us to the season of Lent, and the importance of not just fasting or giving up things, but also finding time to prepare by studying the Bible. Jesus was severely tempted in the wilderness, far beyond our imagination, but He was able to overcome the temptation by trusting God. We are encouraged to take this path with Jesus as we enter into this season of Lent.

This concluding sermon of "This is Us" sermon series encourages us to continue doing good, because whatever we do in Christ is not useless since we have the guarantee of resurrection.

Based on 1 Corinthians 15, this message focuses on the hope of resurrection and attainment of an incorruptible body for those believe and follow Jesus. 

The resurrection of Christ assures us the resurrection of our own bodies, and makes us cling tightly to the the promises of the gospel, and to live our lives as those who believe in the resurrection of the dead. The influences of the culture often distract us from this truth, but by focusing on Christ we can continue to live out this truth. Listen to this message to find out more about this truth.

Based on 1 Corinthians 12, this sermon focuses on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It defines spiritual gifts as supernatural ability given by the Holy Spirit to believers to reveal God to other people.These gifts are given for the common good for the glory of God. 

God equips us to engage in this world to fulfill His purpose through His Holy Spirit. Who is the Holy Spirit and how can we be equipped?

This is the first part of the "This Is Us" sermon series, where we look at the Epistles (primarily Paul’s letters to the Corinthians), to rediscover the ways God equips us and uses us to reveal Jesus to the world in which we live. In this sermon, we are encouraged to accept our role in God’s plan to share this good news by embracing and engaging others, and recognize the obstacles that prevent us from fulfilling this role . 

This sermon talks about the source and purpose of christian Unity, and how it is essential for us to fulfill God's mission in th church and the world outside. 

The good news of Jesus Christ is the best news of Christmas. Just as the shepherds were the bearers of that good news for the first Christmas, we have been called to speak about this good news to all, not just in our words, in our actions too. 

This year for advent we are looking at some of the characters that took part in that first Christmas story. This sermon looks at the courage that Joseph demonstrated in the face of doubt and fear. Where did his strength come from? How did he overcome his fear and doubts? Courage overcomes fear by focusing at the purpose of our life. Courage overcomes fear by embracing God’s plan for our life.

This is the concluding sermon on the book of Hebrews, and urges us to finish the race by drawing near, holding fast and considering ways to encourage one another. Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 

Based on the book of Hebrews, this sermon compares the mediator, message, method and motive of the old way and the new way. This is indeed a better way, but just as Christian believers in the first century were tempted to give up their faith in Jesus Christ, the great mediator, we are also often tempted to do the same. This message exhorts us to continue on in the new way by feeding on God's word, by fellowshipping with others in the new way, fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ and fighting the temptation to give up. 

Based on Hebrews 9:11-14 , this sermon speaks about the new covenant that we have in Jesus Christ. It is a better covenant that spurs us to forgive and love as Christ himself as demonstrated.

Jesus demonstrated his love by meeting our needs, and as his disciples we have to respond in the same way by loving others. How do we worship authentically?

In Jesus’ time on Earth, He wasn’t interested in token gestures. He didn’t care about outward behavior. In this series, we’ll go beyond the simple slogans of what it means to follow Christ, and open ourselves up to discover the knots in our lives that Jesus wants to undo, so that we can live an authentic faith. If He was editing your life, What Would Jesus Undo?

When we are faced with personal struggles, we look for guidance, resolution and peace. We look within ourselves and to others to help us overcome, but as we realize our limitations we seek heaven's help through prayer. Prayer is a Christian's best first response.

The ascension of Jesus Christ can help us re-discover our mission as a church. Our mission is to help others know and find eternal life in Jesus.

A message which focuses on the identity of born again Christians. As children of God, we find our identity in loving God, obeying God and loving people.

The Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ is for all the world to hear. We as Christians are called and equipped to carry this message to others through our lives.

Based on Peter's Vision and his ministry in Cornelius' house, this sermon reminds us that the gospel is for all people. It also helps us understand the Church's role in reconciliation with the Indigenous people and community.

Based on Psalm 4, this message speaks about how God hears when we cry out to Him. He might not always answer the way we expect, but He hears and provides relief from storms, restoration of self and revival of spirit.

Each one of us are different and unique, and together as a church with God's help we have limitless potential. The disciples were afraid and in a locked room after Jesus' death, but His resurrection changed everything. What caused the transformation? How does it apply to us now?

Jesus' resurrection promises us new life and eternal hope, but Jesus had to pay a price. His different struggles had a lasting impact on us because of the way He responded to His struggles. How do we respond to struggles in a way that has a positive impact on our lives and those around us?

Jesus came riding on a donkey, and the people celebrated shouting "Hosanna". We remember this day as Palm Sunday, and it is another opportunity for us to reflect on who Jesus really is.

We are children of God, heirs to His kingdom through Jesus Christ. We are called to fulfill His mission through us, we are called to share in His glory, but we are also called to carry the cross, the cross of suffering. It's not an easy way, but it is a glorious way to live.

Some people say Jesus was a prophet, some say he was a philosopher. Who do you think Jesus is? Who is He to you? What does the Bible say?
