Aswaad Peters, known by his stage name DJ Aswaad, is an international DJ and On-Air DJ at Slam 100.5 HD FM, Trinidad & Tobago’s youth urban radio station. Being the son of steelpan legend, Lennox 'Boogsie' Sharpe, Aswaad was immersed into the world of music during the early stages of his childhood. This led him to follow his father’s footsteps into the music industry and create his own path to success. In 2006, at the young age of 17, Aswaad created his signature style of play with a distinct and unique fusion of old and new in a manner that set him apart from other young DJs. During the past 11 years, he has achieved experience at events locally and internationally and is currently focused on enhancing his art by fusing afrobeats with various local flavors from around the Caribbean.
