As a medicolegal death investigator in New York City, Barbara Butcher, investigated more than 5500 death scenes and 680 homicides. She's been seen on Netflix's Homicide New York. Natalie Weaver is the founder of Sophia's Voice, an organization that supports people with disabilities, caregivers, and the work of disability rights activists. Marci Burton survived a terrifying plane crash in the Mountains of Kodiak, Alaska with 4 others including her son while she was pregnant with her daughter. She explained they were the only Bush Plane to survived a plane crash in Alaskan history. His life was shattered as his family was involved in a fatal car accident that took the lives of his brother Race Sawyer, his nephew Rider Sawyer, his wife Kortni, his son Riggins, and his daughter Franki. Hip Hop Artist, Rowlan, lost his best friend suddenly in late 2022 and he was the one that found him dead. In 2021, Julie Barzman suffered the devastating loss of her son, Blake, and quickly found that it would change her life forever. I'm the host of DEAD Talks and it's time I tell my story and experience losing my father on September 11th. My father worked on the 105th Floor of Tower 1 of the World Trade Center with Cantor Fitzgerald. I was 12 years old when it happened and I share my perspectives of this experience as a 33 year old man today. I spoke unscripted, alone and from the heart. Bryan Martin learned to turn grief into joy. His father passed away in 2017 and 4 months later his partner Clayton was rushed to the hospital with acute liver failure. Bryan took care of him while working full time for 8 months until he passed away in 2018. I was lost and in deep grief. He's been incredibly open about his experience and how he's navigated losing his father and then shortly after becoming widowed. BJ Miller is an American physician, author and speaker. He has worked in hospice and palliative medicine physician and is known for his 2015 TED Talk, "What Really Matters at the End of Life". Scarlett Lewis is the mother of Jesse Lewis who was killed in his first grade classroom during the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012 along with 19 classmates and 6 teachers and administrators in one of the worst school shootings in US history. She founded of The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation in honor of Jesse and to spread a message he left on their kitchen chalkboard shortly before he died, Nurturing Healing Love, the formula for choosing love, and to promote social and emotional education in schools as well as a consistent message of compassion in our communities. Julia is a woman who has dealt with a lot of loss in her life in a short period of time seemingly happening one after another. Paige finds better ways of treating mental illness to prevent suicide and the healing of her athlete clients. Paige is a sports and fitness enthusiast. Five months after getting married, Angelo Merendino's wife Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of thirty-six and died in 2011. She endured a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and reconstructive surgery. They both decided to share their experience of her potentially dying for others to gain understanding of what they were going through with a powerful collection of photographs Angelo took her throughout her treatment. Van Thu Nguyen had a unique experience with grief in that with having learned her father was dying her family had actually abandoned her prior. Only a senior in College at FSU, Candace Cheatwood, was blindsided when she learned her boyfriend was diagnosed with Testicular cancer.
