The Formula for Failure

On the season finale episode, the topic is, failure. It’s not a matter of if you fail, but how you fail. It’s better to make an attempt toward your goals than to never take that step in the first place. Throughout this season, I hope this advice has encouraged you. For now, I’m going to take a short break during this Christmas season, but plan on coming back with a few guests. Until then, enjoy this holiday season, and as always remember to speak up, stand out, and stay creative!  Follow the Host:  Facebook: facebook.com/johnnyanomaly0  Instagram: www.instagram.com/johnny_anomaly/  Twitter:  twitter.com/johnny_anomaly0  Follow the show on Social Media:  Facebook: facebook.com/creativecopingpod  Instagram: www.instagram.com/creativecopingpod/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/support

Of Procrastination and Preoccupation

There are added pressures to produce content when there is an audience to serve, and maybe that's why we procrastinate. We think it'll never be good enough for someone else, so we create nothing at all. Then there are those of us who don't care about the approval of others, but find ourselves too busy. We make no time to be creative. Maybe it feels frivolous to showcase that side of ourselves, but in this episode, I want to encourage you to get back to the roots of your creativity. Collecting Rare Pearls From the Sea of Affliction

Enduring the pains of depression, rheumatism, gout, and Bright’s Disease, Charles Spurgeon was no stranger to suffering. This episode was inspired solely by his words - “Those who dive in the sea of affliction bring up rare pearls.” To those who have dove headfirst into grief know well that the “rare pearls” are unique to each individual. There are us who have been taken under by the waves, but once reaching the shoreline of post traumatic growth, our gift can act as a beacon to those still stranded in the sea of grief and affliction. The Power of Imagination (Taking Intrusive Thoughts Captive)

It is safe to say that along with my imagination being one of my strongest assets, it can also serve as one of my greatest liabilities. As easily as I can form sentences to ignite a flame of inspiration, I can just as easily use that same flame to burn every bridge I have ever built. These fabricated thoughts cause just as much anxiety as it does adventure, and is detrimental to my mental health. Most of my anxiety stems from an overactive imagination but on the other hand, I have witnessed my ideas flourish from the notebook’s page to being performed on stage, and have benefited greatly from it. But what about intrusive thoughts in the mind of a creative? Let's talk about it.  Follow the Host: Facebook: facebook.com/johnnyanomaly0 Instagram: www.instagram.com/johnny_anomaly/  Twitter: twitter.com/johnny_anomaly0 Follow the show on Social Media: Facebook: facebook.com/creativecopingpod Instagram: www.instagram.com/creativecopingpod/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/support

Boredom - A Key To Your Creativity

It's been said that, "If you’re waiting for brilliance to strike, try getting bored first."  Research has found that boredom can spark individual productivity and creativity. Meaning some of the best ideas have come, not from ecstatic impulse but rather, boredom. The mundane has produced miracles! Maybe this explains why some of our best ideas come when accomplishing tasks like showering or cutting the grass.  Follow the Host:  Facebook: https://facebook.com/johnnyanomaly0  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/johnny_anomaly/  Twitter: https://twitter.com/johnny_anomaly0  Follow the show on Social Media:  Facebook: https://facebook.com/creativecopingpod  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/creativecopingpod/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creativecopingpod/support

On Being Displaced and Growing Where We’re Planted

It’s been one year since we salvaged all that we could from our storm-damaged home, caused by Hurricane Ida, and moved out of our hometown. We felt defeated, so unsure of the what the next step would be for our family. We soon made due with our circumstances, brushed ourselves off, and slowly started to rebuild and replace what we’ve lost. Material possessions can always be replaced, and no matter where we are, together, is home.
