Rex Ryan: A football family, Coaching legacy, Going toe to toe with on of the best defensive minds, NY Jets, the best part of a NFL Locker room, making mistakes, happy feet, one regret & Unfinished business,
“How different would our world be if every single person played football and grew up in a damn locker room...” Rex Ryan current ESPN Analyst and former NFL Head Coach
We got a treat for you today...or as he would some say a God Dam Snack!
In today's episode of The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan, filling in for Fred who’s away in London, joins Channing and Ryan for a conversation we never expected to be so in-depth and captivating.
An episode full of humor and humility, this discussion isn’t just a football fan’s dream but it’s one to tap into for anyone who’s a believer in people, overcoming struggles and fighting internal battles privately while maintaining a tough demeanor on the outside and never being afraid to go toe to toe with anyone.
Known for his brash personality, Rex Ryan has always unapologetically been himself which comes with a lot of highs and positives but behind the walls is a story and journey we can all learn from. From growing up in Canada with his mom to dealing with bullies at school to moving with his father Buddy one of the best defensive minds in NFL history to forging his own coaching legacy to being a dad, a husband and locker room leader, Rex opens up like never-before on all the chapters of his life and the ones still unwritten…
As the current NY Jets navigate team controversy, Rex takes us through some of the most pivotal moments for him as a man and head coach sharing never-before-heard football stories, defensive mind, motivational tactics, Hard Knocks moments and answering for some of his questionable choices. The one thing Channing wants to know is, why isn't he coaching now? An answer that may surprise you...
Having a little fun, Ryan gets Coach to explain some crazy comments he made about Channing back during Dolphins Jets rivalries as Rex peels back the layers of a three-decade-long coaching journey, recounting the highs of taking the Jets to the playoffs and the lingering regret of never winning a Super Bowl. He breaks down his unique coaching style, as seen on Hard Knocks, and emphasizes the importance of physicality and toughness on the field. Rex also shares a personal side of his story, talking about how growing up with dyslexia influenced his creative approach to the game and his ability to problem-solve as a coach.
Tackling some unwanted headlines over the years, Rex addresses his infamous private matters leaking publicly and doubles down on how even to this day he loves his wife's feet and isn't afraid to say it. As we wrap the episode, Ryan strikes a chord and the conversation turns emotional as Rex reflects on the pride he feels watching his son follow in his coaching footsteps, continuing the Ryan family legacy and reveals one regret that still weighs on him now.

Considered a Bust? Former NFL star Running Back 3rd overall pick and Alabama legend Trent Richardson opens up about his football journey, tough lessons, losing over $1.6M, importance of OGs, parenting & finding peaceNew episode
"We need the OGs. We need people like us who went through it and had the ups and downs in the game that's gonna tell you the truth..."
This conversation is one we highly recommend as parents, athletes, coaches, those who have had the highest of highs and lowest of lows, and for people who feel they have failed at something and may have got lost in our purpose at one time and now look to forgive ourselves as we right the wrongs....We sit as men reflecting on tough times, regrets, learning from one another, accepting accountability and being able to apologize when we own up to things we could have said or done differently.
On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, apart of Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit with former NFL star running back, the No. 3 overall pick in 2012 and Alabama legend Trent Richardson to talk about his football journey and respond to people who look at his career as a bust as we gain understanding inside the mindset of a young athlete and what went wrong: How did the NFL go from being a dream come true to football becoming a nightmare?
Trent shares his experiences growing up in a household with a single mother to becoming a young father at 16 while balancing being a star football player at Alabama and how it affected his NFL career. With high expectations as a player entering the league as a high draft pick and trusting people with his finances, Trent saw over $1.6M of his money unaccounted for quickly while dealing with an unguided start as a rookie. Trent was traded from Cleveland to Indianapolis without personal knowledge, only finding out on the radio and often criticized for not playing up to standards despite having decent numbers and breaking some rookie records.
Diving into his journey, Fred, who was seen as a mentor and idolized by the young running back at one time, talks through some of the struggles and misconceptions Trent dealt with. Trent opened up on the criticisms he faced while sharing how he felt his issues stemmed from not having the right tools to succeed and discussed the personal matters he was dealing with in private while trying to get his football career on track. Ryan and Trent share a powerful moment of accountability and forgiveness as RC shares how Trent taught him a lesson in analyzing sports after making a comment about his play in a way that Ryan wouldn't do today.
Being a good father and role model for young people today is something Trent prides himself in, admitting that having his kids is one thing that kept him going in the dark times. Opening a facility in Alabama and trying to be a voice for athletes to help them not make the same mistakes or fall into similar traps he did is Trent's mission today.
Tap into this episode of a story filled with obstacles and struggle but one that's important we hear as we navigate our lives today and influence young people along the way. We appreciate Trent opening up and trusting us with his journey, hoping to change lives by sharing.

Michael Bennett Super Bowl Champion opens up about retiring from NFL worrying about his brain, Marshawn Lynch not getting ball in Super Bowl, turning passion into purpose, using his platform to influence culture, humanizing black men and architecture
"It's okay to start over, but it's not okay to complain about what it takes to start over." Michael Bennett Super Bowl Champion
On this episode of The Pivot in partnership with Fanatics, we’re sitting down with Super Bowl champ and 3x Pro Bowler Michael Bennett. Building a reputation in professional sports for being unique, Bennett shares with Ryan, Channing and Fred his journey from a young man growing up in Louisiana to getting into football to his close bond with his brother to being outspoken for black men and culture to the highs and lows of winning and losing a Super Bowl....but now life looks a little different for Michael —he’s living in Hawaii with his family, traveling the world, and diving deep into architecture and design.
But being able to start over took some time, as Michael shares with the guys how he struggled to step away from the game he loved so much but knew deep down his worry about his brain and fear to never walk his daughter down the isle pushed him to retire from the NFL and refocus his efforts differently. Michael talks about how much he loved every moment of the game, but ultimately made the selfless decision to say good bye to it so he could stay healthy knowing football was his passion but family is his purpose.
Michael was part of some of football's toughest defensive cores in NFL history and part of building the 2013 Super Bowl Championship team in Seattle as he breaks down some of his top ranked defenses of all time and gives his thoughts on today's game. He gives his take on one of the biggest enigmas of Seattle's Super Bowl loss, which is why did Marshawn Lynch not get the ball as the game winded down with a chance to win a 2nd Super Bowl...Michael shares the inside talk of what really happened that play call and what he saw happening if Marshawn was given the ball that play.
Considered a controversial career by some, Fred, Ryan and Channing commend him for always taking a stand on important issues and ask how Michael found the courage to stand up for black people, being in locker rooms where his outspokenness was often frowned upon by fans, the franchise and teammates. Michael explains how growing up him and his brother would receive punishments to read encyclopedias, so learning was always a key part of their lives. That intellectual curiosity shaped how he approached football, and his love for the X’s and O’s as He didn’t just want to be a great player; he wanted to study the game and master it. But his interests stretched way beyond the field which Michael became known for speaking out on important issues, from activism to social justice, never afraid to stand up for what he believed in or try to spread his message in creative ways not hostility, even writing a book, "Things that Make White People Uncomfortable".
Since retiring from football, Michael's focused on spreading a different message: the importance of design, especially in black communities, and creating opportunities for his culture. Humanizing black men, making it okay for them to be vulnerable and emotional is one of his main goals as he explains how, as an athlete, people try to put you in a box, but for him it’s all about breaking those stereotypes. To him, intellect and emotion are just as vital as the toughness and grit it takes to make it in both the NFL and life after the game.

Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor & Channing Crowder thoughts on NFL Season, Missing what you love, Life regrets, Struggles, Parenting, Birthday reflections & How will you be remembered when you are gone?
For so long, so many of our Pivot followers have asked when we will interview each other and share our own takes on certain personal questions we often wonder about but never have time to dig in and find out ... .so we are finally doing it!
That’s right, on this episode of the Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing switch it up and dive into one another’s stories by interviewing each other, leaning into their own vulnerabilities while learning the how and why of who they are today and where they see themselves in the future.
The conversation kicks off with football, talking about the early youth years to how each got their big NFL break to the things they would have done differently to any regrets and how their respective teams shaped their legacy. Ryan opens up about his undrafted journey to battling Sickle Cell to winning a Super Bowl, and how those experiences furthered his "underdog mentality"—something that still fuels him today. Fred is honest about missing the game and wishing he could still play while Channing doesn't miss it at all. Channing finds it ironic that Fred feels a void because in the history books, Fred is one of the best to ever play his position. But despite Fred's legendary career, he opens up on his own struggles, through dealing with the "Fragile Freddy" stages to not yet making the Hall of Fame and the emotional toll public perception took on him. Channing gets real about the balance (or lack of) between football and everything else he did away from the game…revealing some regrets about the choices he made and how it affected his career.
Understanding that life always moves at a fast pace, doesn't mean we shouldn’t stop and realize the reach of our choices is far beyond the field and what we contribute each day is how we will be remembered long after we are gone.
On the eve of Ryan’s 45th birthday, he reflects on where he is today and the mission he tries to live out in all his life moments not wanting his Super Bowl win to be the single accomplishment everyone references with more focus on the impact he makes each day and how he’s seen for his contributions as well as how he’s viewed by the people closest to him. Ryan shares a personal story of a childhood friend recently passing away and how age is creeping up on us and that when it’s all said and done, he doesn’t want to be defined by his past or a single accomplishment but by who is today and his current mission.
Posing the same question to the guys, Ryan asks what the future holds for each of his co-hosts. Channing shares his vision about making the Crowder name mean something, both for his family and business, while Fred’s focus is on his kids and teaching them to be strong minded and live with integrity.
The depth of vulnerability and authenticity displayed in the voice of Ryan, Channing and Fred is something that will resonate with all of us as we continue to Pivot through our own lives and journeys.

"We remind people of their uncles," said Gillie. Much of what we learn in life is through experiences and the value of shared information is key to growth in all areas which is something Wallo and Gillie stress to Ryan, Channing and Fred. Having powerful platforms is important but how the guys use their platforms to provide messaging and how people, young and old, see them is shaping culture and future generations.
Talking top headlines, the guys chat about the current landscape of sports, present-day NFL, the culture surrounding today’s highly paid athletes, and the challenges that come with the game’s evolution. Gillie gives some personal advice to his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, breaking down what they need to do to win, which had all the guys heeled over laughing. Wallo, on the other hand, opens up about opportunity and writing "Armed With Good Intentions", a book detailing his journey of mistakes, mishaps and lessons from his time in prison to the invaluable lessons he learned. The strength of Wallo and Gillie is to have tough conversations regarding race in America, manifesting in the smallest ways with big impact, the everyday struggles of black men down to how the black experience isn't perfect but stress ways of prioritizing protection and hoping to show paths of growth and alternate approaches to success.

The Kentucky Wildcat star is the NCAA record holder in the event, Masai has been incredibly dedicated to track and field since she was eight years old. But as sweet and well spoken as Masai is, don't let the cheery spirit fool you, Masai makes it clear, when it comes to competing, being a savage is all she knows.

Miles Chamley-Watson American Fencer, Olympian, trailblazer in sports and fashion, journey from adversity to world champion, Kobe Bryant advice, Bond w/ Lewis Hamilton, Met Gala stories & embracing family dynamic
"Someone who was always true to himself, failed, got up again, but ultimately changed the sport that gave him everything and inspired a whole new generation of kids. That to me is bigger than any medal I could ever win." - Miles Chamley-Watson
This episode is one where we learn about a sport unfamiliar to us but one rich with history and challenges and how no matter what the competition is, the path to success is paved with dedication, discipline and a degree of mental toughness that brings out the best within us, when we least expect it.
In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with veteran Olympic and World Champion fencer Miles Chamley-Watson as he opens up about his journey from a young athlete facing adversity to becoming a trailblazer in sports, culture and mental health as he used his own experiences and lessons to shape the success he's had in and out of athletics. Wearing armor and always a defense mode is a part of his sport, but in our conversation with Miles, he drops his sword and lets his guard down, opening up about the unlikely path into fencing, mental toughness, his effort to bring his sport to media forefront, rise to fame and how his family dynamic and recent heartache has changed his life perspective.
Miles explains to the guys about how putting on that fencing mask for the first time made him feel like a superhero, and gave him a sense of purpose. The sport- which has been around for centuries- was something that fell into his lap as a 6’5’’ dude from a mix of the UK, New York, and Philly. Yet, he fell in love with fencing, and found it helped him manage his ADD & ADHD, giving him something to focus on. Even though he used to hide his love for the sport after getting judged for being an “unconventional” athlete, he's now all about encouraging kids to follow their own path, no matter how different it might be.
The guys go further into the conversation exploring the personal struggles Miles has faced within fencing, which is a predominantly white sport, sharing stories on facing racism in the craft, and how those challenges have only fueled his drive to create real change and make a larger impact. Making a name for himself wasn't easy at first, but through his charisma, unique style and success, Miles' meteoric rise to the top of sports has helped put fencing on the global stage. Garnering international fame through Olympics and becoming a world champion while juggling his star-studded personal life of fashion shows, Met Gala, A-list friendships and global brand campaigns. Miles reveals advice he received from Kobe Bryant during the 2016 Olympics that changed his outlook on wins and losses and molded a mindset of having a short term memory in terms of success and failures.
As the conversation continues, we get into more sensitive topics like family, emotions, and mental health. He talks about the importance of opening up, especially for Black men, and how he’s learned to release emotions that he bottled up for years. Sharing stories of his up-brining, bond with his mother and stepfather, reconnecting with his real father and reveals a personal matter of his sister now undergoing a serious health battle....Miles stresses importance of forgiveness and finding peace as life is too short to hold onto stress and unhappiness. He's determined to be an advocate for diversity in sports, leave a lasting impact on the sport and inspire the next generation of athletes to stay true to who they are.

Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor & Channing Crowder talk personal mission statement, NFL Headlines & Storylines, Tua's future, Brett Favre news, Bryce Young, NIL debacle with QB Matthew Sluka and the guys reveal own football traumas & future fears
"There is nothing else in life I would rather be known as, or rather do, than play football. I never wanted to be alive and not have lived." Ryan Clark on the risks of playing football all his life.
You have been asking and we finally made it happen, a conversation with just the Pivot talking about all things around the league, in life, in sports and some current hot topics that have sparked a more in-depth discussion.
On this episode of the Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, it's just the three guys—Ryan, Fred, and Channing—sitting down to talk about the latest in the sports world. With the NFL season kicking off, there's a been a lot to talk about, so we start it off by hitting on the headlines around the league.
One major topic that’s been heavy on the minds of everyone in the NFL and the fanbase which always becomes more pressing when we see one of our own go down with a head injury is CTE. It’s something that’s affected our Pivot family personally, having lost people we care about to it, and it shapes how the guys see their own futures after Tua’s recent concussion and whether he will continue to play the game he loves or hang up his cleats. The guys dive into how the game always had the same risks, we just know more now than we did back then. Channing shares personal experiences and expresses his own fears with his health, while Ryan and Fred discuss the game that defined them for their entire lives and how they wouldn't change anything they did to play but also understand the unknown is scary and that new knowledge offers a different perspective but also doesn't change their love of the game. Will Tua come back this season—or ever? We dive into that, plus what it means to balance risk and living life, even when the game can leave a mark. For the guys, football is worth every hit.
Along that topic, the news of Brett Favre’s Parkinson’s diagnosis sparked a lot of debate. It’s a tough situation, but the guys are brutally honest on not being able to ignore the welfare scheme scandal Favre was caught up in, making it hard to have sympathy for someone who stole from the poor and is now trying to get pity through his diagnosis. The timing of it all angers Channing and Ryan and they don't hold back as to why.
Moving to College football, UNLV’s undefeated QB Matthew Sluka decided to leave the program despite his success because he didn’t get what he was promised. This new NIL system is at a critical point, and we break down the challenges of giving young athletes so much money and responsibility while minimizing the adversity of teaching moments which seems to lessen the learning curve for college players by big paydays.
Speaking of money, Bryce Young’s situation with the Panthers came under the microscope as Andy Dalton took over the starting role this past week and led Carolina to a much needed win. The franchise paid the former No. 1 pick big bucks, but now he's benched after one season, so what’s next for him?
And before the guys wrap the conversation, Ryan challenges Fred and Channing to think about their lives and how they approach each day, wondering if they'd change anything looking back and define goals moving forward shaping what each's "life" Mission statements would be as the guys open up and get personal, sharing their journey, the whys and experiences that shape their thoughts.

"Black men have feelings. Black men hurt. Black men are in pain...and sometimes we feel like we're dealing with it alone..." Cory Hardrict Actor and Producer
On this episode of the Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, the guys have a conversation about the ups and downs of life, dealing with trauma and changes we never expected and how to find strength in our families and passions while celebrating the wins with gratitude instead of guilt.
Cory Hardrict may seem like an overnight success but he's been climbing his way to the top of the box office for over two decades, he’s made a name for himself with roles in films like Never Been Kissed, American Sniper, Netflix’s Brotherly Love, and most recently, Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black with costar Meagan Goo. Cory prides himself in always evolving and his dedication to perfecting his craft, and committed to being a role model—not just for other actors, but also for the Black community and his own kids.
Beyond the bright lights of Hollywood, the guys touch on some real talk—being a Black man in today’s society, toxic masculinity, and the importance of uplifting fellow Black men. Cory shares experiences about overcoming hardship, staying focused, and using his platform to inspire others...While also getting honest on his divorce and moving forward in the most positive way.
Cory lets his walls down and opens up to Ryan, Channing and Fred that everyone struggles from time to time and it shouldn’t be looked down upon for men, especially black men to cry, express themselves or ask for help. In a recent panel, Cory opens up on how he cried almost everyday for over a year as he adjusted to so many changes in his life from dealing with a high profile divorce from actress Tia Mowry to public misconceptions about his character to being strong for his children while focusing on his demanding career. Not shying away from the difficulties of headlines or public splits, Cory keeps it real saying he believes in unconditional love and that everything from this point on is for his kids and no room for mistakes or missteps.
His divorce may have kept his name in tabloids for the past 2 years but his acting career has kept him atop the box office with several star roles. Working with Meagan Good has challenged him as well as lifted him to a different tier to be seen as a character who can play any role. Despite his love for acting, Cory shares his perspective on always proving yourself as a black man in Hollywood and staying grounded. He also opens up about growing up in Chicago, losing both his brother and mother, and how those pivotal moments pushed him to build a better life for his own family.

Steve Stoute Music & Advertising mogul talks Super Bowl Halftime act Kendrck Lamar vs Lil Wayne, Jay Z's impact, Reveals Drake news, rise of UnitedMasters, the fall of P Diddy & business philosophy
"The fact that these artists are getting their flowers, getting a chance to perform on this stage, these black artists..If it wasn't for Jay-Z, this wouldn't be happening. So how can you come down and criticize this man like that? it's beyond me." Steve Stoute sounds off on the recent Super Bowl Halftime controversry.
Steve Stoute is the ultimate American success story. He’s worn a lot of hats—author, entrepreneur, ad exec, and most notoriously, a music mogul. For nearly three decades, he's played a pivotal role at some of the biggest music labels from Interscope, Geffen, and Sony, to working with massive names like U2 and Eminem. Ultimately he's helped shape not just hip-hop, but today's music culture as a whole and continues to find ways to bridge the gap with culture, sports, music and global reach. In this episode, in partnership with Fanatics, Stoute takes us on a wild ride through his experiences in music, advertising, and business and how valuing relationships fueled his journey to the top.
We had to start the conversation off and get right to it- With loud buzz around Kendrick Lamar being announced as this year’s Super Bowl Half-time Act... controversy continues to swirl around the choice and blame being put towards Jay Z, who is on of Stoute’s closest friends and business confidants. Jay, who’s been a major part of choosing the NFL’s biggest act of the year, is taking heat for selecting Kendrick over the hometown star and fan favorite Lil Wayne to headline New Orleans Super Bowl. Steve is blown away by the negativity towards Jay's choice, confused why people aren’t celebrating that Jay has made such strides for culture to be apart of a big event vs making it personal as football and music fans alike are split, and even some big-name artists, like Nicki Minaj, have weighed in with their grievances. Stoute delves into this topic with Ryan, Fred, and Chan, sharing the inside scoop on how the decision really went down, what he thinks of the backlash, and who was originally asked to perform!
Ryan understands this Super Bowl controversy has caused a lot of backlash and ugliness from different areas of the industry but RC says this isn’t nearly the black eye to culture that the continuous fall of P Diddy has stirred up, as more allegations are revealed and Diddy’s recent arrest landed him in jail without bail. Knowing Diddy for a long time, the guys ask Stoute to honestly speak to it all, especially the fallout and if he ever saw any signs or this coming….
The conversation shifts to where things are heading with music, sports, culture and owning media rights as well as creation of platforms controlling the space vs the old days where networks and big companies dictated the industry. While Stoute started in an era where artists were burning their own records and signing deals with record labels to get noticed, he speaks to how the landscape has completely shifted. With social media, consumers can find an artist's music without them needing a label-- and he thinks this transition is beneficial. He's all about artists owning their craft and not "selling their souls" to big companies which is what led him to start UnitedMasters, to help creators keep control of their music, name, and likeness. Fred asks him about the recent Dame Dash situation with and how he sees it all playing out.

Fabolous: American Rapper and cultural icon reflects on music journey, opportunities, tough lessons, Jay Z, Beyonce, sports & Hip Hop
Music has helped me through difficult situations because… it lets me get through them…if you’re going through hell why stop there?" Fabolous
Throughout history, music has been a timeless aspect of society that connects people and has the ability to document the times through lyrics and style. Hip Hop has always connected with sports on another level as a form of expression and often celebration of athletes. On this episode of The Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred chop it up with one of the most respected and iconic rappers from the early 2000s – Fabolous.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Fab reminisces about releasing his first album in 2001, and the motivation behind creating the chart topping record. To put it in perspective on how it resonated, Fab shares a story on how he saw Tom Brady this past summer and first thing Brady referred to him as is one of the original 01' boys, reiterating what Fab's music represented during that era and Fred recalls the one line that was even about him during that time.
While Fab may be underrated to some, the guys double down on why he's one of the most respected artists of all time in hip hop and for the culture. Fab’s got six albums and over three million records sold in the U.S., but it’s not just the numbers that tell his story, it’s his experiences that have truly shaped him. Relying on OG's in the rap game, Fab always was looking to learn and take chances to get where he wanted to go. He shares some words of wisdom with the guys reflecting on his journey, talking about the rap game then vs. now, what he’s learned about himself as an artist and more importantly as a man and describes how a generational shift in hip hop is shaping today’s music scene differently.
Fab talks about how the intersection of music and sports goes hand in hand and inspired his creativity and lyrics. He breaks down Knicks vs. Nets, plus legends like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Muhammad Ali—icons who shaped his take on sports and celebrity and shares a story about his son with Steph Curry which is a lesson on opportunity and making most of every chance, an approach he lives by and credits to his music career taking off.
With music being a whole different vibe in the early 2000's vs today’s social media-driven world, Fab opens up about how music helped him overcome tough situations and rise above negativity while discussing how accessibility influences sustainability, especially in a competitive space.

"The things that's being done in the dark will always come to shine. If you're pouring nothing but good things into yourself, you reap what you sow." Jalen Milroe Alabama Quarterback
Last year, Jalen Milroe walked into what he thought was just another post-game meeting after a tough overtime loss to Michigan. But things took a surprising turn when legendary head coach, Nick Saban, dropped the news he was retiring. Shaking up the college football world, the young quarterback was forced to Pivot, as he took the reins of the Crimson Tide football's immediate future.
In this episode of The Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down with Alabama's leader to talk about his journey from a young man who only started playing football to bond with his father to being named quarterback to one of the most storied programs and a Heisman favorite this 2024 season. Standing in the shadows of Bama stars like Bryce Young, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Milroe is next in line of an impressive lineage and continues to forge his own path forward, trailblazing the play-calling position into his own style and standard of excellence.
Ryan calls Jalen out mid conversation and reminds him it's ok to be him and talk as one of the guys and doesn't have to be buttoned up in all his responses. Loosening up, the guys ask him about his infamous "LANK" mantra and the mentality of coining that phrase, "Let All Naysayers Know" as his way of quieting the critics and answering the doubt that surrounded him and his Crimson Tide teammates. The guys laugh and reflect back at that viral moment and how the phrase has taken on a life of its own, being the core of how athletes from the youth to the pros and even people in everyday life, who are tired of being questioned and doubted...
Coming from a military family, Jalen shares how growing up with "helicopter parents" taught him the discipline and work ethic that has fueled his rise and understands there's no such thing as self-made but only self driven humans who experience true success. Recognizing the village of people through family, coaches, teammates and friends who keep him going each day, and help navigate the waters mentally and physically of being the starting quarterback for one of the winningest college football franchises. Jalen opens up on how he’s handled the pressures, the transition to a new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, what it’s like to balance the outside noise with his own high standards and why a Texas native chose to play for Alabama, simply stating it is a business decision for four years to set him up for the next 40 as he and
Jalen keeps it real with the guys about everything: From what went through his mind after that Michigan loss last season to 2024 college football playoff hopes to NIL era of money making to his NFL Draft dreams to sharing who he is away from the field as someone who is known for avoiding "fun" but clarifies he doesn't put himself in uncertain situations because it's easy to get into trouble but hard to get out of. Jalen shares his thoughts on Alabama's newest offensive phenom, 17 year old wide-receiver Ryan Williams and what key thing he shared with Jalen that was a telling-tale of the type of player Williams wants to be and strives to be.
Jalen also pays homage and respect to the rise of black quarterbacks in the NFL for paving the way for men like himself to continue to break barriers and have the opportunities they do. Tap in and Subscribe to The Pivot Podcast for more stories like this.

"What I'm going to say, people are going to hate...But you have to not care what happens. You have to not care what the result is, get completely past the wins and the losses." Cooper Kupp Super Bowl LVI MVP
As we continue to make our way through NFL Training camps, we are a little over a week away from Kick off, and we are sitting with star players from around the league getting inside scoop, hearing never-told-before stories and going inside the locker room mentality of the 32 teams as they prepare for the 2024 season.
On this episode of the Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics, we catch up with the 2022 Super Bowl champs, the Los Angeles Rams, and who better to sit with than the former Super Bowl MVP and Triple Crown winner, Cooper Kupp. It's been two years since the wide receiver has played a full season. But 2024 is different. He's finally healthy again, and ready to bounce back stronger than before.
Ryan, Fred, and Channing chat with Kupp for a look back on his journey and insight into the 2024 Rams, and how Kupp is trying to mentor the young roster while remaining one of the NFL’s best every Sunday.
Kupp gets honest about the entirety of his career, the Super Bowl runs, the injuries derailing some of his success, playing along side stars like Odell Beckham Jr and Aaron Donald and how Head Coach Sean McVay has given unprecedented guidance and leadership not just on the field but beyond football.
The star wide-receiver reveals the locker room secrets and team game plan going into Super Bowl LVI, including a never-heard-before story about how the game was set up to showcase veteran receiver OBJ. And, even though Kupp won MVP, he shares what really made that night special for him.
Although his mindset on football has shifted over the years, Cupp Is more committed than ever to the game he loves and the people he works with. What used to be a do-or-die mentality has evolved into a more balanced approach—he’s all about preparing, staying healthy, and giving it his all on the field, without stressing over what certain tv analysts say or people outside the building think.
A lot of that "slide off your back" mentality stems from Cupp’s tight-knit relationship with his wife, who has been by his side since meeting at a high school track meet. The two got married with just $3 in their joint bank account, and while that number has grown, their bond has stayed rock solid. He shares how this relationship has always been his biggest motivation, keeping him grounded no matter what life throws their way.
As for the upcoming season, he’s pumped about what’s ahead. He’s focused on providing guidance for younger guys like Puka Nacua, but don’t think for a second he’s done leaving it all on the field—he’s got his eyes on another Super Bowl run.

His success has been shadowed by injury with last November, Burrow undergoing season-ending wrist surgery, stalling his chances for another Super Bowl run but with new hair and a fresh outlook, Joey B is cool, confident, collected and letting the NFL world know, "I'm back and I'm better than before."
In a conversation that spans further than the Xs and Os of the game, Burrow opens up about his process, his mentality on and off the field, pride and leadership within the Bengals locker room and his bond with college teammate turned favorite NFL target, Ja'Marr Chase. Despite losing some key offensive weapons this off-season, Burrow is excited about new additions and welcomes the weight of carrying the Bengals success on his shoulders. He doesn't allow personal criticism to affect him, ignores what people say about his off the field choices and how he spends his time but admits that sometimes words about his play and effort do get to him, only because of how much he cares and pours into his craft.
Led by Joe Burrow, The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the few AFC teams that's had Kansas City's number in recent years and the duals always come down to Burrow and Patrick Mahomes, with a Bengal win in 2022 that led his team to a Super Bowl. But with that game coming down to the last few plays, the Super Bowl loss to the Rams still haunts Burrow and he's on a mission to get his team back to the post season and a chance to play for the Lombardi this year in familiar territory of Louisiana.
Revisiting Burrow's legendary run at LSU that earned him the Heisman Trophy and a National Championship, the guys talk about best-ever college football teams, talent transcending to NFL careers and most importantly, the grit and grind Burrow proved he's made of. Sharing close LSU ties, RC's been a fan of his play since day one but his respect and admiration for Joe goes far beyond the field as he appreciates the QBs non-wavering stance on important social issues, including racism and commitment in using his platform to induce change.
Busting chops, Ryan couldn't let Joe go without asking how the young star forgot about the OG in the infamous white party LSU photo from the summer. His response, much like all Joe does, is spot on,

Mike Tomlin: Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp talking about Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, leadership, getting back to the Super Bowl, Coaching trees, legacy & 2024 NFL Season Preview
The Pivot Training Camp tour is in full swing as we visit NFL cities sitting with players and coaches around the league bringing you exclusive interviews and sideline conversations to get you ready for the football season. In partnership with Fanatics, we are pumped to drop this episode today!
You already know this is one of our favorite stops of the year, the land of The Pivot colors, but long before the black and yellow belonged to us at The Pivot, it was RC's legacy in Pittsburgh and anytime we get to go back, it's always a time to be had. With a roster full of talent and star players, sitting with anyone would be a great show but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to chop it up with the man himself, the one, Mike Tomlin!!
Heading into another season as Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike T gives us some insight to his thought process around training camp, paving the way for other coaches in the league and how loving football has kept him at the top of the game for 20+ years. No losing seasons, 2 Super Bowl wins, what’s The secret? Be open to change, willing to adapt and appreciate the people around you.
While the biggest questions around the Steelers as the season kicks off is who will be their starting quarterback with the signing of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, two talented and highly successful play callers, Coach Tomlin is more focused on the men they are and the leadership qualities each exemplifies. Football creates tough situations and Tomlin says it's his job to prepare players to handle business between the white lines, be ready to fight the fight and find ways to get through the difficult times as a team.
Tomlin shares how coaching helped him become a better parent and now parenting has helped him become a better coach as players on his team are more the age of his own kids and he’s able to adjust to changes and better equip himself for being there for his players as he tries to bring out the best in them.
2024 goal? It's about winning. Tomlin knows the feeling of winning a Super Bowl and wants the guys in the locker room like Cam Heyward and TJ Watt, who have earned that championship feeling to be able to feel what it's like to have confetti rain down on them and set the tone for younger guys too.

Philadelphia's Devin White, the Super Bowl Champion says why he took less to be on Eagles this season, accountability with Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, competing against Saquon Barkley, Tampa Fall out, lessons from Tom Brady & his love of horses
“I’m only looking forward to what’s in front of me, and I feel like a lot of good ball is left." -Devin White
The Pivot Training Camp tour is in full swing as we visit NFL cities sitting with players and coaches around the league bringing you exclusive interviews and sideline conversations to get you ready for the football season.
In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing stopped by Philadelphia, to sit with one of the newest Eagles in the flock, Super Bowl Champion and Pro Bowler, Linebacker Devin White. The 2019 fifth overall draft pick has spent the past five years of his career as a core member in Tampa's top ranked defense, making headlines this offseason by bidding farewell to his Bucs and heading North to Philly. Devin opens up in a transparent discussion addressing all the rumors, the labels and miscues of recent years that have affected his reputation and tarnished some of the success he had in Tampa which has contributed to his mindset as he starts fresh with The Eagles, even willing to take less money to be in a situation better suited for him.
While Saquon Barkley was a marquee signing on the offensive side of the ball, White is his defensive counterpart looking to make an immediate impact and allow his teammates to see him, not just as one of the most talented at his position but as a strong leader too. White’s locker room approach has already landed him a spot on Philly’s Leadership Council, recognizing that the Eagles were known for drama last season and leaking locker room issues, White hopes to combat that issue and has turned to QB Jalen Hurts and WR AJ Brown to hold each other accountable each day.
The Bucs got some great play out of Devin White during their Super Bowl run in 2020, but since then it's been an up-and-down relationship that came to an end this past offseason. Since demanding a trade, rumors have swirled about White's relationship with his former team, and the reasonings behind the change of scenery. We asked him how he confidently pivoted from the loud whispers and began to focus on the quiet wins and sharing advice with others: "Don't believe everything you hear."
A lot of that confidence comes from constant communication with mentors at LSU and Buccaneers players, staff, still to this day. Learning from the best of the best has not only given White self-assurance, but also a handful of stories. He tells the guys all about the Bucs locker room with the GOAT Tom Brady, and what went down with former teammate Antonio Brown that day he stormed off the field. Tapping into "Mr. Brady" through example and sharing exclusive stories, Devin is grateful to the future Hall of Fame QB for pouring into the team the way he did, for never settling and always demanding the best out of everyone which helped the team win another Championship.
Outside of football, Devin has generated curiosity for his 'cowboy' lifestyle. He owns acres of land and has about 50 horses, an outlet that reflects upon with the guys as a safe space for mental health and escape from everyday pressures of football. His father and brother might no longer be with him physically, but spiritually they guide him towards becoming the higher version of himself and the foundation of his success.
The 2021 Pro Bowler may have a chip on his shoulder to get back to the big game, but at the moment he says he is simply having fun playing ball again. And with a stacked roster, the NFC East power house is not drifting in easy, but rather a new focus and energy spurred from the top down starting with QB Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown to Darius Slay to Saquon to Devin...all of these man have something in common, and that is to win and do whatever it takes to reach highest levels of success. Devin is looking to repeat his Super Bowl journey with his new teammates in Philly.

Washington's Zach Ertz & Austin Ekeler 2 of the NFL offensive stars join Commanders under new ownership & join new Head Coach Dan Quinn with Rookie QB Jayden Daniels who's a proven leader & why the team is set up for immediate success under new regime
“If I were to be a head coach, I would want to be like Dan Quinn." -Austin Ekeler Commanders Running Back shares and is echoed by Super Bowl Champion Zach Ertz's words as well. ""Dan Quinn is probably the best person I've been around in front of the team by the way he leads..."
The Pivot Training Camp tour is in full swing as we visit NFL cities sitting with players and coaches around the league bringing you exclusive interviews and sideline conversations to get you ready for the football season. Something for everyone in the episodes from the hardcore football fan who wants the inside scoop to the casual listener interested in the lives on and off the field of these athletes and coaches.
In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing stopped by Virginia to visit Commanders camp, an organization that has gone through a complete refresh from ownership to front office to coaching to key player acquisitions including No. 2 overall draft pick in Jayden Daniels. We checked in with Jayden and caught up with veteran players, NFL stars Tight End Zach Ertz and Running Back Austin Ekeler who joined Washington this offseason and are looking to make an immediate impact. Ertz, a Super Bowl Champion, knows what a winning organization looks like and believes under Dan Quinn, the Commanders are built for it. Ekeler who's been known for red zone production is looking to contribute that same level and shares why this team feels different and attributes it to leadership from Dan Quinn to authenticity of how the organization is lead and how quickly Jayden Daniels is adapting to NFL situations.
Personally, Ertz sheds light on how special it is having his wife, USA soccer star Julie Ertz, by his side this training camp for the first time in over a decade with no Olympic participation this summer as the Ertz family continues to grow and Zach understands his football journey is nearing the end. Similarly, Ekeler talks about how he recently just got married and how much that part of his life is bringing a different level of happiness and peace to his football journey.
Both Ekeler and Ertz believe in this new Commanders team and that their talented roster will be ready to compete with the NFC's best this coming season and watching the group mesh on the field, we believe it too.

Raheem Morris Head Coach of Atlanta on 2024 NFL Schedule, why he believes Kirk Cousins will lead Falcons to Super Bowl, the decision to draft Michael Penix, the best defenses he's coached & importance of people-first mentality & forgiveness
"We cut players and we bring them back and we ask them to forgive, so what separates us [as coaches?]" Raheem Morris Head Coach of Atlanta Falcons
In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing reunite with one of our favorite past Pivot guests and good friend, Raheem Morris. When we last caught up with Morris, the “then” Defensive Coordinator was reveling in his Super Bowl win with the LA Rams…Fast forward to now, and Morris is back at the helm of the Atlanta Falcons as he prepares for what he considers the opportunity of a lifetime as their new Head Coach.
Morris takes time to open up on his new role, his transparent insights on why the Falcons are "something to deal with" this 2024 season, and how his "people first" approach is shaping the team.
Morris’ coaching journey has had its share of ups and downs, coaching some of the games’ best defensive players in Warren Sapp, Aaron Donald, winning Super Bowls, learning alongside some of the best in the business but also came with hard teaching moments in some painful losses and also, being fired by the team he is now back Coaching.
Ryan, who once played for Morris, asks his long-time friend about his evolution from a young "uncle figure" coach to a confident "father figure" in the league and the trust he has with his coaching staff. Comparing himself to the likes of J. Cole in the song “Middle Child,” Raheem talks about going from being a brother alongside players in his early days as a coach to now becoming a father figure.
The guys discuss how the football world was surprised with the Falcons first pick of the 2024 NFL Draft taking QB Michael Penix No. 8 after just acquiring Kirk Cousins from Minnesota…Coach says Penix is about building for the future while Kirk is the guy he believes can lead Atlanta to a Super Bowl. He and Ryan debate a little bit about the defensive side of the ball, but they agree there is no question guys like Bijan Robinson and Drake London will flourish with Cousins under center. He continues to talk about the roster full of talent and how he wholeheartedly believes this team has what it takes to not just be a competitor this season, but one of the elite.
Filled with some fun moments, towards the end of the conversation, Morris jokingly teases while paying tribute to his coaching mentors, the NFL greats and the guys ask him to craft his dream defense using players he’s coached throughout his career. One of his choices literally leaves Channing on the floor in disbelief, any guesses?

Alaysha Johnson: US Track & Field Olympian on qualifying for Paris Olympics in the 100meters Hurdles, having no sponsorships, underdog journey & goals to Gold
"I did it with no sponsorships. I did it with a black designer on my chest. I did it with a long weave and nails and lashes and everything that everyone told me was going to hold me back. I did it!"
Alaysha Johnson was always counted out and overlooked. But after an epic performance beating her personal-best time and capturing the silver medal at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in the 100meter Hurdles...she did it.
This conversation on The Pivot platform resonates with the hosts and listeners to understand some stories are bigger than headlines and about making an impact, in ways that can only be felt through purpose. And on a new episode of the Pivot in partnership with Fanatics, "Lay" Johnson chats with Ryan, Channing, and Fred to uncover the Olympian's long journey to Paris, revealing this strong woman behind the inspirational athlete.
Lay ran a 12.31-second 100-meter hurdles in Oregon to qualify for the Paris Olympics, but she describes how her path to Team USA is different from most of her teammates. She talks about the financial struggles of running track without sponsors, without access to gear, and how she had to work several jobs while training at same time before finally committing full-time to the sport. Although the road has been had and full of tears, Lay's decision has paid off, and the guys ask about how she overcame that type of pressure and underdog mentality.
Four years ago Lay wasn’t even running track, and she talks with the guys about her range of emotions when she finally got to put Olympian next to her name. She suffers from hypothyroidism, preventing her muscles from growing back at an average rate, and describes the mentality she must have to keep working despite these physical problems.
Discussing the lack of money in the sport, and trying to explain the feeling of having one 12-second race dictate whether she can afford rent and pay her bills. Lay is extremely independent and without a sponsor every race matters for her since there is no guaranteed money. Yet coming from working two jobs bartending late nights and early morning work outs, Lay touches on how she doesn’t fear the normal life like her competitors do since she has always had to work for what she wants, following in the footsteps of her mother.
Lay shares with the guys that it’s usually her against the world, but in Paris she will be repping Team USA ready to show why she is the best in the world. And in an emotional moment, Lay gets a surprise phone call to make her Olympic Experience full circle as she finds out financial help is on the way to get her mom there to watch her compete, a dream come true.

Aaron Donald the 8x All Pro & Super Bowl Champ on first year without NFL Training Camp, talks illustrious career but opens up on the struggles masked by the highs, Sean McVay's impact, Super Bowl loss, bond w/ his wife & his next chapter
"I am complete. It was a storybook ending."
Being able to walk away from any career on own terms is something we all want when we are ready for that next chapter but to say farewell to football, a game you love and dedicated your life to, feeling satisfied, complete and accomplished is truly more than one could ever dream of and after 8 Pro Bowls in 10 seasons, a Super Bowl trophy, and a decade of memories, future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald reflects on how his career was more than just football...
Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with recently-retired Aaron Donald, one of the best to ever put the pads on, to go through his football journey, from the 5yr old kid who just wanted to compete to becoming the respected man who led his team to two Super Bowls while having a family-first mentality of being a father and husband...Aaron opens up about much more than we saw on the outside and his process that guided him to stepping away from the game after 10 seasons.
From the outside, Aaron Donald's career resembles as close to perfection as can be, but AD shares with the guys that there were a lot of tough moments for him mentally, personally and physically that he endured while accepting the role as not just the face of a franchise but the face of the NFL. Experiencing the lows of LA's Super Bowl 53 loss to the highs of the team's Super Bowl 56 victory, Aaron talks about the importance of him reaching that key team accomplishment in the game which surpassed all of his individual accolades he achieved. Going in-depth about key relationships from Coach Sean McVay, to teammates, to his parents to the bond he has with his wife, Aaron touches on the struggles and emotional rollercoaster during certain moments and reflects on the memories his illustrious career provided. Sharing inside locker room stories and never-told before stories, Aaron opens up on every aspect of who he is and strived to be as the player, the son, the father, the husband and the teammate.
On the field, the world saw one of the fiercest football players to ever play the game, but during this vulnerable conversation, the guys peel back the layers of a man who wore his heart on his sleeve and how he became synonymous with hard work and dedication to his craft, ultimately retiring as one of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL.
Coming out of high school, coaches thought AD was undersized, and he only had only 3 scholarship offers for football but Aaron made the most of his opportunities and played with a chip on his shoulder proving the position is about strength, skill and technique not just size. Aaron shares how he developed his alpha mentality at a young age and relied on his family, father and brothers to help instill character, work ethic and a survivor mentality which motivated his mindset from early days as a Pitt Panther through his last game as a Los Angeles Ram.
Walking away from what you love is never easy, but Aaron has no regrets and certainly no unfinished business as for him it was never about playing for a paycheck, it was always about the passion for the process and yearning to be the best. Entering his first summer without training camp, AD doesn't feel the void of football as he feels his life is complete in so many areas that his next chapter might be his best yet. It's about family now, as he credits his wife and kids for being a big part of his career and expresses ultimate gratitude to his wife Erica for always having his back and putting his well-being first all these years which leads to a deeper conversation about mental health, and not being afraid to open up and share when times get dark.

Lewis Howes on athlete mindset, conversation with Kobe Bryant, ego vs masculinity, overcoming traumas, accountability between Ryan, Channing and Fred as the guys share their own struggles
"Someone watching this may say what a little Bi*%h...and that's fine, a bad day for the ego is a good day for the soul."
Today's conversation is a little different and by different we mean even better. So often we sit with our guests who open up, share their experiences for us all to take something away from it...but today, we shed our armor and allow our vulnerable sides to come through as we listen, learn and create a space for others like ourselves to be vulnerable too. Many times as men, especially athletes, we are instilled with a mentality that toughness means never showing emotion, fear or weakness. And while that can be true when playing a sport, working towards a milestone or competing for championships, it's not always the best approach with our personal and everyday lives.
To help guide this discussion, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with 2x New York Times bestselling author and top podcast host of The School of Greatness, Lewis Howes, also a former two-sport All-American athlete, as he shares the different seasons of his life, lessons learned along the way and how he pivoted from darker times to the top of podcast and book charts. But how did he get there? How did he convert his athlete mentality into motivation and transition fears into finding success in unlikely areas? What wisdom can he share with Pivot listeners and how can his words help us? Intrigued from the start....Ryan, Channing and Fred dive into a life changing conversation they never knew they needed to have.
With over 1700 episodes and impactful conversations with elite athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs and health and wellness experts, Lewis has set the tone in this space creating awareness, implementing techniques and he shares how his time spent with Kobe Bryant was the most impactful experience which helped shape his purpose in podcasting. Everybody experiences trauma, but not everybody learns to respond to hard experiences with a growth mindset. From sexual abuse growing up to a brother in prison, parents divorcing and a father who was in a coma for months after a serious car accident, Lewis has gone on a mission to share his story, help others deal with their traumas while exploring fears, masculinity, relationships and understanding emotions. At the end of the day, it's ok not to be ok and be open on our feelings, thoughts and struggles.
Being honest, the four men acknowledge that conversations like these don't happen enough (filmed or not filmed) and towards the end of the episode, Lewis takes a moment to ask Ryan, Channing and Fred about themselves and the bond each has with one another while encouraging each other to share what they see as strengths and weaknesses in their everyday lives. The three guys have a tough conversation and hold each other accountable for things they see and share their hopes for one another while dealing with some tough emotions and real-life moments. Extremely powerful as each opens up and we are drawn in as if we are a part of the conversation. "It's a lot to unpack...this is deep." Ryan Clark

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Lion's Wide Receiver on big off-season, new contract & star of NFL's Netflix series, strict upbringing, family influence, 3-13 as rookie to NFC championship, Dan Campbell's leadership & 2024 goal: Detroit Super Bowl
Detroit’s star Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to make headlines with major off season moves, first re-signing with the Lions for a 4 year $120M extension and now starring in the NFL's new Netflix series "Receiver", following the highly popular Quarterback series last year, the show is expected to be a summer hit.
Ryan, Channing and Fred sat down with 2x Pro Bowler Amon-Ra St. Brown to talk about his upbringing in a strict but motivating household, the recent surge from the Detroit Lions and how he’s utilized the chip on his shoulder from falling in the 2021 draft to becoming one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league.
Amon-Ra shares his family history and mindset developed from a young age, always working harder and playing with a chip on his shoulder after dropping to late rounds in the NFL Draft to naming all 16 wide outs who's name was called before his using it as motivation to not allow someone's name to be called before his when it counted. Ryan talks about watching him during 7 on 7 as a high schooler and was blown away not just with his talent but his grit.
Amon prides himself in being more of a "I can show you better than I can tell you" player as he's had a pivotal role on transforming the Lions from a 3-13 team his rookie year to playing in the NFC Championship this past season and credits the leadership of head coach Dan Campbell and tight knit locker room for Detroit's fast turn around. Falling one game short of the Super Bowl left a sting in the team's core and this offseason has been focused on starting with that same momentum heading into training camp with a roster full of talent, St. Brown knows they are a serious contender, now taken seriously in the league and have a target on their back heading into 2024 season despite still being considered the NFL's underdogs.
St. Brown reflects on the foundations that shaped him from his unique family dynamic having a bodybuilder father, the former Mr. World, who trained him and his two brothers (one of whom also plays in the NFL), and a multilingual mother who exposed the family to diverse cultures around the globe with emphasizing education and experience. Developing a 1% mentality of always being better and outworking the next, whether it was catching 202 passes off the jugs machine daily or lifting weights with his siblings, Amon-Ra spent his life crafting his passion for football and credits his close-knit family for instilling that work ethic and determination that has now defined his NFL rise as a talented, gritty wide receiver, vying for that top spot.
And with the release of NFL's Netflix Series "Receiver", St. Brown's stardom will continue to grow far beyond the gridiron into a household name as his story on and off the field unfolds from a young boy from Compton to now one of the highest paid Wide Receivers in the league. "Receiver" premieres on Netflix July 10th showcasing an unprecedented window into the toughest job in sports featuring St. Brown alongside NFL stars Devante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel.

Brandon Aiyuk: "I am taking it personal," the NFL Wide Receiver opens up on latest contract talks with Niners, clarifies social media posts & latest public exchange w/ friend Commanders QB Jayden Daniels & what NFL teams are on his short list for 2024?
One of the biggest NFL off-season storylines is the contract negotiations coming from the reigning NFC Champions in San Francisco and if their star WR Brandon Aiyuk, former first round pick, will still be a 49er heading into 2024 season. Since the week after the Super Bowl, his contract has been a hot topic with constant media coverage, rumors, and social media buzz. Adding fuel to the fire, there are speculations that Aiyuk might reunite with his former ASU teammate and close friend Quarterback Jayden Daniels at the Washington Commanders… And the Pivot in partnership with Fanatics uncovers the truth and cuts through the noise.
In today's episode, sitting with the source himself, Ryan, Channing and Fred have a conversation with Brandon Aiyuk around what's true, what's not and ask the looming question- will a new deal be done before training camp ? Or does Aiyuk have his sights set on a short list of NFL teams he feels he can be the X factor on. Brandon explains the why behind the viral face time post of him and his long-time friend Jayden Daniels and why he's taking these contract negotiations personal while sharing his true priorities and mindset as he discusses what he believes he's worth, the significance of the big dollar-signs and how he handles the pressures of these high-stakes discussions under the public eye.
With an unsettling sentiment and signs of discourse between the San Francisco organization and Aiyuk since the Super Bowl loss in Feb, Brandon is setting the record straight about his emotions around the loss against the Chiefs and sharing his true thoughts in his voice without any misconstrues.
Aiyuk gives us his perspective on the state of the league, being the next domino to fall in the contract pool of wide receivers and sharing insights on quarterback Brock Purdy, his teammates and how much talent is on this 49er roster, full understanding the grass may not be greener elsewhere but he's not closing the door on reuniting with his friend and former teammate Daniels in Washington or dabbling with other teams, ofcourse with the Steelers being one Ryan hopes is on the list.
Growing up in a 49ers fan home, Aiyuk has deep love for the team but also has openness to new opportunities. Tune in for an unfiltered conversation that delves into the heart of Brandon Aiyuk's current journey, his aspirations, and the roller coaster side of professional football negotiations.

Rich Paul: On earning reputation of most powerful non-owner in NBA, talks building sports & media empire from ground up, bond with Lebron James, Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, two-way contracts & talks truth on Bronny James' future ahead of 2024 NBA Draft
"So many people want to be a part of the announcement and not a part of the investment."- Rich Paul, Founder of Klutch Sports
Less than 24 hours away from the 2024 NBA Draft and all the talk is around a potential late round draft prospect, And why? Well because of the name on the back of his jersey.
The sports world is currently divided over discussions about nepotism in basketball, sparked by Bronny James' announcement that he will enter the NBA draft after just one year at USC. In the latest episode of The Pivot, Ryan, Channing, and Fred sit down with Rich Paul, founder of Klutch Sports Group and super agent not just for big NBA stars and Lebron but Bronny too, as the guys go in depth for a very telling conversation from the source himself. They dive into Rich’s long-standing relationship with LeBron James, yet their separate approaches to navigating Bronny’s entry into the NBA draft and his future career. Rich is very clear, although Bronny is considered his nephew, he is treating him as he would any of the other athletes he represents, sharing the best case scenario, discussing various approaches and details what he actually means by declining two-way contracts. Rich has made a name for himself as a leader in sports business and transcending athlete representation by doing it his own way, which has raised the bar in the industry.
Way before Rich Paul and Lebron met, Rich was hustling and grinding his way through life, from selling jerseys out of his car to becoming a prominent CEO in sports representation. He provides insights into his journey to become one of the most influential businessmen in sports, outgrowing his title of agent through his contributions in sports and entertainment growth over the years. Rich gives perspective into his philosophy as a man, agent and friend, emphasizing his consistent yet authentic approach in managing high-profile clients like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Draymond Green as well as his female clients in WNBA led by the league's MVP A'ja Wilson.
Rich prides himself in building strong personal connections both within and outside the sports industry and talks about how he will not only stick by his athletes through their successes, but will also stand in the rain with them when things get tough as he demonstrated with Draymond Green recently. This mentality isn't a front, it's just who Rich Paul is, and is best described in his book, "Lucky Me" about changing the odds and going against the grain to reach success: "You don't have to finish where you start," which is why he has earned the trust of the best of the best in basketball and paved the way for it to be a business built on people skills and relationships and not by mandated college degrees.

A Pivot Podcast special creating conversation around Domestic Violence generating awareness and discussing preventive measures with a survivor in our NFL family, the mother of star Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Our Pivot purpose, is a commitment not just to have the fun conversations or interview A-list stars, but to prioritize using our platform to engage and challenge all of us, especially as men to look into ourselves, be vulnerable, be honest and be better as are dedicated to educating ourselves, fellow athletes, and our community on critical issues to affect meaningful change. In special collaboration with the Cleveland Browns, the NFL and Fanatics, we have an unguarded and tough conversation bringing awareness to domestic violence led by the inspiring story of survivor Sabrina Greenlee, mother of Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who bravely shares her journey that included losing her sight to unimaginable abuse.
Ryan Clark often says what he does now in his 2nd act of life is far more important than what he did in his first. Although playing in the NFL is a gift fueled by passion and hard work, the platforms created from that career and how we use them is our true calling, this episode is an example of that.
In a touching and impactful conversation had live in front of the Cleveland Browns organization, Ryan, Channing, and Fred create a space for Sabrina to speak candidly about her experiences, barring her wounds and scars both physically and emotionally as she takes us all through her life changing journey. Painful and hard to hear at times, Sabrina’s stories and openness to cut through and speak directly to the root of reality and truly move a room full of men to understand abuse in all forms and the effects it has on victims but their loved ones too.
Sabrina, representing mothers, sisters, daughters and all females in our lives, shares her message and preventative hopes with the team and challenges each of the men in the room to be better, wiser and leverage their NFL platform for positive change. Ryan explains how the NFL locker room is the most forgiving place in the world but also needs to become the most accountable place, checking every person to be an example.
She also engages in a heartfelt Q&A with players, where they discuss the impact of domestic violence on their loved ones and seek guidance on supporting survivors. We hope this episode can provide awareness for a topic that holds a place in our hearts with importance and unfortunately a necessary one to explore as we continue to minimize these types of stories and create a world of zero tolerance for abuse.

Antonio Brown life after NFL, dealing w/ traumas, explains his controversial social media platform CTESPN, Hall of Fame talent & parenting
A repeat appearance on The Pivot is rare, but so is today's guest- a rare talent, a rare personality and a rare gift to authentically always be himself no matter what or who has something to say, he stands by his words and owns his lifestyle.
Once known for his Hall of Fame highlights on the field, former NFL star, Antonio Brown, is now equally known for his headlines away from the game in retirement. Whether it be his boisterous personality, his unusual relationships with various celebrities, his financial woes or his latest media platform CTESPN, AB is no stranger to controversy or being in the spotlight for his questionable comments and choices over the years.
With recent stories of Brown filing bankruptcy after earning nearly $80M during his NFL career and increasing criticisms over his social media distribution of contentious words around athletes, sports and hot social topics. In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit with Antonio for a conversation covering it all, from his storied football journey, to miscues to personal evolution to public perception to what is really going on in the life of the famed football star.
Ryan starts the episode by addressing his former Pittsburgh teammate from a place of respect but one of genuine care and concern asking how Antonio Brown the human is holding up mentally, physically and emotionally. And in a place of authenticity and humility, AB opens up, admitting that he never realized how much trauma you go through in being great and acknowledges the pain and real traumas that he endured as a football player and in everyday life as a human being.
Through therapy and reflection, Antonio shares how he has been able to put his thoughts and experiences into words, which led him to creating his viral X account CTESPN. "It's always when people don't understand- you're crazy." Antonio shares with the guys as Fred points to people being worried about the former wide receiver and Channing questions if the CTESPN platform does more harm than good because of how thoughts are communicated, often radical, racial and in raw expression. He says it's for entertainment but also for honestly and accountability, as athletes face public scrutiny and media sensationalizing all the time, but when he says something, it's often criticized with a different lens as AB gives the recent example of Sports Personality Pat McAfee calling Caitlin Clark a "white B word' and it being quickly forgiving yet he feels he is held to a tougher standard for a joke he made months back. Ryan inquires further into the purpose and future of the social media platform as the group discusses the inherent challenges in balancing public perception with personal growth.
Turning to football, the guys talk about the tangible talents of Antonio as one of the greatest wide receivers of this era and point to his Hall of Fame eligibility coming up in 2027, the same year as his Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, in which he hopes the tandem can go into Canton together. Fred asks if his tactics off the field will taint his chance of getting a gold jacket as Antonio pushes back saying one has nothing to do with the other, "If you think AB is not a hall of famer, put on the tape."
AB gives his thoughts on Justin Jefferson's record breaking NFL contract as well as the top 5 guys playing the position in the league right now and what skill set is most important for success on the field. Antonio addresses recent media reports regarding his financial situation. explaining in his own words and expressing how he feels misjudged and misunderstood but is embracing this next chapter of his life story, with a primary focus of being a present father, and enjoying his children being bigger, better versions of himself, what legacy is all about.

Both undefeated talents in their own right, Martin opens up about being an underdog, his anticipations for the showdown, and the pivotal moments that shaped his journey to the ring.

Delving into the origins of his nickname "The Ghost," Martin dissects the nuances of his fighting style and its potential and favorable impact when he faces Davis, Alluding to the last time the two fighters met in Vegas, a few years ago in a sparring match at The Mayweather Boxing Gym, Martin reveals what really transpired that day and how the man himself, Floyd Mayweather, pulled the two fighters apart after several grueling rounds.
Martin shares with Ryan, Channing and Fred the advice Mayweather has given him over the years and the one key piece he has kept at the forefront of his training, work when your opponent is resting and become mentally strong not just physically. Matt Kemp Former MLB All-Star on missing out on storied career, missing out MVP award, switching from football to baseball, teammates & mentors, living in LA, dating Rihanna and life now as a father
As an athlete, part of the climb is reaching the top and often, fame and wealth steal the spotlight, but what's not really discussed, is how a simple game can shape one's identity and provide purpose.
In a recent conversation on The Pivot, former MLB All-Star Matt Kemp joins Ryan, Channing, and Fred to unravel the multifaceted journey of life as a professional baseball player. Kemp shares a blend of funny anecdotes and honest reflections, providing a glimpse into the complexities of his career from a small town guy to the big lights of Los Angeles, and the extra pressures that came with playing in the limelight of a big city.
From the challenges of adapting to life in various cities to the weight of fame under the spotlight of Los Angeles, Kemp's experiences paint a picture of the highs and lows that come with being a professional athlete. As Matt navigated the transition into retirement, He compares that time in his life to mourning a family death, juggling all the emotions of losing something you love while facing the uncertainties that lie ahead.
In 2011 Matt Kemp finished second in National League MVP voting to Ryan Braun, and he talks about his reaction to later finding out Braun tested positive for PEDs that season. He won the Hank Aaron Award that year, though, and Kemp reflects on being biracial in baseball as well as the African-American mentors he had in the sport. Still tough to rationalize missing out on that feat, Matt talks about life now, and leaving the baseball to pursue mentorships and other business endeavors.
Throughout the episode, Kemp provides valuable insights into broader themes such as race, identity, and the ever-evolving landscape of rookie vs veterans in the locker room. Playing for the LA Dodgers came with high expectations between living in Hollywood, access to celebrities combined with a fast pace lifestyle while putting up a league high MLB numbers, Matt shares how the pressures sometime were too much to handle and only increased as his personal life took center stage to media outlets and blogs. The guys chat about Matt's adjustment to fame- from the media’s accountability to the dating scene, which Channing can't help but ask about his relationship with superstar Rihanna.
From his mom and dad helping him choose baseball in Oklahoma to Torii Hunter and Don Newcombe guiding him once he reached the majors, Kemp gives praise to the many people who helped him reach the success he had. Yet today he is no longer an active baseball player, and he talks about the unknown struggles of retirement and entering a new chapter as a dad.

The Pivot on locker room bond, being good teammates, WNBA, Caleb Williams, Harrison Butker, Lebron & Bronny and checking on our loved ones
It's Friday and the guys are back as we Pivot our way through all the hot topics of sports and entertainment starting with our own storylines straight through the top headlines of recent. But as usual, you can expect honest, authentic conversation and that locker room type of talk as Ryan, Channing and Fred will always keep it 100 even on the tough topics and being on opposite sides of issues. In partnership with Fanatics, the guys sit down with another three-man show where they talk about recent controversial comments from an NFL veteran to the state of young players entering the NBA and WNBA and more.
The guys may not agree with Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s recent comments during a graduation speech, but they discuss the football world’s responses to a fellow NFL player speaking their mind. Ryan talks about why he disagrees with the speech itself and they each give thier takes on what it is like being a teammate to players whose beliefs don’t align with their own, as Ryan talks specifically to Jason Kelce being a good teammate, fresh out of the locker room, trying to make light of the situation and the media world reacting to it in an unnecessary way.
With all of the talk surrounding Bronny James as a prospect in the NBA Draft, Channing defends the use of nepotism for Bronny to get opportunities, but he and Ryan both touch on how he has to earn his spot in the league. This is similar to Caitlin Clark and the WNBA rookies proving their stardom, and the guys discuss the WNBA’s spotlight with the league’s heated competition so far this season.
The NCAA’s new regulations allowing schools to put money directly into NIL for their athletes is a boost for Power-5 student athletes, but Ryan talks about why he thinks this should have already happened. Channing and Fred also touch on the importance of financial literacy for these athletes to succeed in the long run.
Just like in the NFL, NBA or any professional league, The Pivot and their team is a family, and the guys finish the show talking about the importance of checking in on one another given the recent news about PGA golfer Grayson Murray’s death.

In partnership with Fanatics, we bring you an episode today that is important for us all to takee a listen...Continuing the important conversation around Mental Health, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down with Robbie Chosen, previously known as Robbie Anderson, on his 31st birthday, the moment he marks as a new start for the NFL Free Agent. Robbie's career statistics speak volumes about his journey—having started as an undrafted free agent in 2016 to acquiring 4,000 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns, Robbie's impact on the field is undeniable.
In an unguarded and honest conversation, the guys delve deep into Robbie's rollercoaster career path and reflect on his tough upbringing and early years from hard family circumstances to personal decisions to his growth. Robbie describes what it was like growing up without a father in a place full of negative temptations, and the guys ask about how he made it to the league despite the hardships around him. He talks about the moments where his path became cloudy, like being kicked out of college or having harsh sideline interactions, but puts a pinpoint on the ways in which he developed out of the labels people had for him.
The former 1,000-yard receiver still says he has years on the field left in him, and Ryan touches on his admiration for how Robbie is changing his generational curses into blessings. Even with his name changes, Robbie has solidified his identity as a person and a player, but by leaning on his values and faith, he also describes his true definition of success. On a day that's all about personal introspection, Robbie takes a moment to reflect not only on his past but also on his aspirations for the future and legacy as a father, husband and teammate.

DeMar DeRozan 6x NBA All Star on Mental Health, Growing up in Compton, Nipsey Hussle inspiration, bond with Kobe Bryant & never giving up
With May being Mental Health Awareness month, The Pivot has had several guests focus on emotional wellbeing from Michael Beasley to Ryan Mundy to Solomon Thomas and more as Mental health remains stigmatized in sports today, but more and more athletes are beginning to break the silence surrounding it and change cultural perception.
In 2018, one NBA star released an emotion-filled tweet that created waves throughout the league, generating awareness of vulnerability while garnering support as the message and impact was felt far beyond the game. Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan to talk about his mental health advocacy as well as his journey to the league. The 15-year veteran shares stories from his upbringing in Compton, California and reflects on defining moments from his career.
DeMar mentions the influence of figures like Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle in his life and talks about how he is driven to inspire the next generation as well and what kept him from giving up during the darkest times. The guys ask about his trade from the Raptors to the Spurs and he reflects on the difficulty of the move, his legacy after spending 9 years in Toronto and how he handled his father's passing while the NBA pressures continued to build. Many people consider him an NBA star and an all-time clutch player, but DeMar talks about the importance of sharing real stories and being seen as a human being, which he hopes to spotlight in his upcoming book Above the Noise.
DeMar touches on how a difficult environment growing up eventually caught up to him many years later by never coping with loss and how people always tend to believe ultimate highs don't come with ultimate lows. He speaks the truth about the place he comes from, and opens up to Ryan, Channing and Fred on mistruths and misconceptions sharing how Money and fame don't measure happiness but it's through experiences that strength is built and understanding is developed. Never giving up and always wanting to be a light of hope for his family, especially his children, DeMar continues to prove people wrong with his efforts off the court and teaching through conversation.

The Pivot on comedy roasts, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick & Robert Kraft, rap beefs with Drake and Kendrick, mental health check in & big news coming
From massive rap beefs to the Roast of Tom Brady and a full media debate between football and basketball players, it’s been a week full of different controversies in pop culture. Ryan, Channing and Fred are back themselves to check in on one another and give their takes on some of the biggest stories. First, it's caps off to congratulate Freddy T, who full-filled a promise to his late grandmother of going back to college after 26 years to get his degree, a special moment for Fred and his family as well as our Pivot Family, sending an invaluable message to so many.
The comedy and football scenes had a crossover with Netflix releasing the much-anticipated Roast of Tom Brady, and the guys give their reactions to the show. NFL locker rooms can have roast sessions of their own, but Ryan talks about why he could never be associated with an event like that. Channing is in the comedy scene himself, though, and he discusses how the comedians changed the way the roast was approached.
In another major American sport, Austin Rivers made headlines with comments that said there are many more basketball players who could play football than vice versa. The guys agree that both take athleticism and skill, but Ryan and Fred emphasize that the difference between the sports comes from the culture of toughness, and that NBA guys could not take hits like them.
In wrapping up with a talk about the Drake and Kendrick rap beef, the trio talk about how Kendrick won the battle itself before mentioning the bigger culture surrounding hip-hop. Many people attach themselves to certain figures in the spotlight, and The Pivot team is excited for fans to see what’s in store for them very soon...

JJ Redick: Duke Legend, former NBA star turned TV analyst and podcaster, shares his storied journey of basketball, perseverance and rapid rise in media, recently teaming up with Lebron & answers if being a NBA Coach is next.
Ryan, Channing and Fred sit with JJ Redick to talk about how his life has revolved around hoops since an early age and as many aspects have transcended and faded over time, his love for the game and desire to be close to the sport still drives him everyday. From Duke to the NBA to basketball analyst to podcaster, the guys get JJ to open up in ways he hasn't shared before diving into his who, his why and his how and what's helped propel a white boy from Tennessee to sustain a reputation of respect and stardom in a sometimes unforgiving world of professional basketball and now broadcast television. The recent launch of his podcast “Mind the Game” alongside LeBron James shines a light on JJ's basketball IQ, but on this episode of the Pivot, the guys go far beyond his success on the court and break down where JJ's mindset comes from.
With the recent buzz around JJ's next basketball move in possibly becoming the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, the choice may not be an easy one as the sharp shooter turned media star is fully aware of who he is and the life he's created after basketball through his various platforms and authentic relationships with current and former players alike.
Redick knew he wanted to be a Blue Devil after watching the 1992 NCAA championship between Duke and Kentucky, but without cable TV and money to put towards the game, he felt somewhat detached from it, but it was his family who continued to support him to fulfill his childhood dream. JJ found pride in working out of adverse situations, and he talks with the guys about how he developed his motivation and never lost that chip on his shoulder. Channing jokes with JJ about his A-hole type persona that he gives off, understanding Duke basketball players are often viewed as the enemy as JJ shares how he became the center of hate during his time with the Blue Devils. Despite his NCAA scoring title and notoriety, Redick was underestimated coming out of Duke and struggled to find a secure place in the NBA for his first few years but managed to prevail with a 15 year career.
Often looking back on what he didn't do vs what he did do, JJ points to several points in his life that he faced hardships, but his awareness, ability to constantly adapt and will to never be out-worked has brought him to the position he is today. Whether it was a missed shot in the 2004 NCAA finals against UConn or a 2009 Orlando Magic NBA Finals run, JJ has always had to bounce back from hard moments but one thing that has never been questioned is who he is as a leader on and off the court. A trusted voice during dark times, an advocate of right vs wrong and an innovator in the media space has elevated JJ to a place of respect and confidence that no matter what he says or does, he stands on it even if it's controversial or the unpopular thing to say.
Sharing many similarities with Ryan in his approach to media and journalism with respect to athletes and stories surrounding the game, JJ was the first active NBA player to start a podcast in 2016, and since has become one of the most respected and watched tv analysts. As his massive rise in sports media continues, JJ is now a part of ESPN's No. 1 crew preparing to call the NBA Finals which if he had to predict could be a Denver vs Boston series, although he's not counting out Minnesota just yet.

Growing up in Brooklyn in the 80s and 90s, kids did not have many role models in the media industry to admire, so sports became the main outlet and focus for Devale Ellis, who followed this path with football always being his plan B while acting and entertaining were his real dreams, Devale used the game of football to teach him about being a better man, better teammate and better person because
The football player turned actor and Internet personality, joined Ryan, Channing and Fred to share an inside look into his journey through the ups and downs, beating underdog odds and eventually landing him on the big screen while amassing a large social media fanbase. Walking on to Division I football, making the team, being undrafted and making a NFL roster are rare instances but for Devale, it's just about outworking the next person and being the 1% of the 1% which is why becoming a star actor and YouTube phenom was never out of a reach with dedication and effort.
Before making it to the NFL playing with the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns, Ellis was a wideout alongside Marques Colston at Hofstra University. Having played basketball most of his life, Devale relied on his athleticism to perform at the college level, but he tells the guys about how his dream for a scholarship led to him wanting real money at the professional level.Starting his NFL career in Detroit, Devale's motivation to outwork people landed him a roster spot but as he peels back the layers of his experience, revealing his struggles mentally and emotionally, he opens up to the guys on how his addiction to painkillers began, turning to pills to try and mask his insecurities and frustrations with football. With his passion fading for the game, his Plan B quickly became his Plan A as he transitioned from the NFL to Hollywood, becoming an actor and entertainer.
Today, Devale s best known as a family man who's a star on Tyler Perry’s Sistas show amongst other projects while creating a platform with his wife Khadeen that has become a hit. While Devale posts lots of moments with his family online, he says the 1 min he shares out of the 1,440 minutes in a day is such a small representation of his life and who he is which is important to him to keep some aspects close to his heart. He stresses the importance of open communication between him and his wife as well as with their sons, allowing them to experience life as it happens and tackle tough topics straight on whether it be racism, bullying, work ethic or debunking false perceptions of black culture, Devale prides himself in setting an example by sharing life experiences and showing the world, even people who hit obstacles have a way of achieving their dreams.
Life never works out quite as we planned or imagined, but sometimes it can work out even better and Devale has embraced the better and all the growth that has come with each success and even the failed opportunities too. As a father to young boys, Devale emphasizes how everything is centered around emotional maturity, having a strong family and the means to get by each day. Devale is honest about the paths he's walked, mistakes he's made and how each part of his journey has shaped him into the man, husband and father he is today.

Caleb Williams The NFL's No. 1 Overall Projected Draft Pick talks his football mindset, winning Championships, dealing with critics, hating disrespect, what he looks forward to in Chicago & being a leader for the Bears
This year’s 2024 NFL draft class has received more noise than recent years’ pools of players, and it has mainly stemmed from one position- quarterback. Many teams are hoping to change the trajectory of their franchise in the first round, and the Chicago Bears are sitting in that top spot with one player a phone call away.
Ryan, Channing and Fred sat down with the NFL’s projected No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams to find out what it will be like for him to hear his name called first at next week’s Draft in Detroit. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner talks to The Pivot a few days before the life changing night, about what it will take for him to lead a team and how he has proven what it takes to win Lombardi Trophies.
A knock many people had against Caleb was that he lacked adversity growing up. Caleb shuts down these assumptions and explains how each of his biggest pivots came from losses and failures. Whether it was falling short in crucial games growing up or starting on the bench at Oklahoma, Caleb has dedicated his life to never accepting losses again.
Williams is built for the future of the game, and as Channing says he’s “built in a lab,” Caleb has approached football from a business mindset as well. His parents taught Caleb to sit back and watch then learn and adapt, and on and off the football field Williams has found ways to only get better.
The Bears trading away Justin Fields showed Caleb everything he needed to see, and the same way he changed the culture at Gonzaga High School and at USC he is hoping to revive Chicago football. He discusses with the guys how much he dreams of championships and the journey he’s taken to making that a reality.
Playing alongside Olu Fashanu in high school and against Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix in college has exposed Caleb to some of this year’s best talent. Yet he explains to Ryan how his leadership and focus is seemingly unmatched amongst the other players.
Before games Caleb tells himself he’s already won, and he is already picturing his name being called out on April 25th. Caleb hopes to cultivate a new culture in Chicago, and he has the confidence to make it happen.

Jamal Crawford on his basketball journey, becoming the NBA’s legendary 6th Man, shares untold Michael Jordan stories, debunks falsehoods off the court, talks fatherhood, coaching and importance of legacy and cultural impact
In one of our favorite conversations on The Pivot, Ryan, Channing and Fred talk with NBA legend Jamal Crawford on everything from his basketball journey to Michael Jordan bond to fatherhood to life after the game and importance of legacy. Whether it is starting roles or years of advice, he’s given back a lot to the game he loves, and on this episode we get a rare glimpse of how one person can have so much love and gratitude for a sport.
When people bring up the greatest ball handlers basketball has ever seen, there is a shortlist of guys who make that group, with most of the players being shorter point guards who have made a living off of facilitating NBA games and dominating other small defenders. At 6’5”, Jamal cemented himself as one of the best isolation players from the shooting guard position and adapted a “whatever it takes” mentality to win which led to Jamal being named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year three times and the 2018 NBA Teammate of the Year which meant the most to him because it was always about who he is over what he is that matters.
As a young man growing up in LA and Seattle, Jamal shares how a random but timely interaction with Paul Pierce pushed him to be in school and approach his grades with as much love and detail as he did basketball, and once he started, the opportunities started flowing.
His natural ball handling skills and unique approach to the sport paved a path not many can walk professional sports, but Jamal did it was class and respect, being clear that playing basketball was never about changing his circumstances, rather it was always about his pure love for the sport and the magic feeling that took over his body every time he touched a ball.
It was after getting drafted where Jamal’s ability and basketball career truly took off and how meeting one man, forever changed his life. Sharing never-told-before stories to The Pivot, Jamal opens up how Michael Jordan took him under his wing and explains how their close knit bond on and off the court was formed. MJ deemed Jamal his go-to partner in summer ball and the duo never lost while attracting stars and celebs to their pick up games. By developing this life-long bond with the GOAT, Jamal understands how that bond changed his life on every level by just knowing he had the “Greatest Ever” in his corner, helped his career skyrocket and he even shares some off-the-court stories between the two from gambling to parties to hard lessons.
After listening to Jamal talk his basketball journey, how he approached the game, his love for the sport and ability to easily talk any aspect and break down players and plays, Ryan called him a “Basketball Nerd”, a compliment to how much he truly loves the game.
Before closing out the conversation, Jamal talks fatherhood, what it’s like coaching his son and the lessons learned through this experience. The current on-air analyst gives his take on the current NBA playoff picture, his comparison of Kyrie and Jokic and how Wembley is the emerging face of the game for years to come. Crawford has always been an analyzer, hyper-aware of all that is going on around him, and his breakdown of any situation proves just that. He may not have an All-Star appearance to his name, but he tells the guys that’s part of his story of what he gave back to a game that gave him so much.

Rome Odunze: A projected Top 10 NFL Draft Pick believes he's the best WR in the class that includes Marvin Harrison Jr & Malik Nabers, He talks QB Michael Pennix Jr's hidden talents, his Nigerian roots & working on a family farm shaped him
With the NFL Draft almost here, Football analysts and teams alike are saying the 2024 receiving draft class is one for the history books filled with top tier talent making the first WideOut off the board a mystery, as the top spot is up for grabs but Washington Huskies' Rome Odunze shares on The Pivot, why he believes that spot is his and why he's the Best Wide Receiver in the draft. And hard to argue...Rome's raw talent, accolades and numbers have projected to be a top 10 pick and his Combine performance captured the attention of not just coaches and teams but anyone who witnessed his heart and determination in every step, understands he's "different" than most.
Sitting with Ryan, Channing and Fred, Rome takes the guys through his football journey, childhood, record breaking collegiate career and NFL aspirations. The Las Vegas native is as big of a family man as they come, and whether it is representing his Nigerian name or working on his grandfather’s farm in Provo, Utah, he is proud of where he comes from. He talks with the guys about how he developed a humble nature and strong work ethic which is not a question after Rome refused to leave the field during the Combine until he got a cone drill perfect despite putting up outstanding football numbers and high marks in every category, finishing at his best and nailing the routine mattered to him.
Yet as humble as he may seem, Rome Odunze has proven himself as one of the most dynamic and dangerous offensive players on the field and poses an extreme challenge to opposing defenders every time he stops on the field, not just skill set but his towering demeanor lends to blocking linebackers, catching slants and screens and even taking the top off of defenses.
At Washington, Rome paired with quarterback Michael Penix Jr., he helped take the Huskies to the National Championship but football has taught him life lessons and being a part of something bigger than himself has inspired Rome since day one, and he discusses the role he seeks on his future NFL squad.
Rome may have fell in love with the game from Devin Hester highlights on YouTube, but the two-time All-American and Biletnikoff finalist is already making his mark on the game. Odunze means “Kings Ivory,” and Rome is already fulfilling his duty of standing for the family name. With confidence and an elite skill set, Rome has the potential to be an immediate contributor to any NFL team but more importantly be a guy in the locker room that his teammates can count on and respect.

GloRilla, Rapper and Songwriter, has rocketed to the top of Hip Hop's charts and become a global star with her outgoing personality, her unique country accent and innocence through brutal honesty and always being her country self. Ahead of her music tour this summer and releasing a new mixtape, Glo spent some time with Ryan, Channing and Fred in NYC chatting about her journey into music, growing up, her inspirations and how a young girl from Tennessee made it out of the country onto music's biggest stages.
Born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, the Memphis native known as GloRilla, has carved a niche in the hip hop world doing it her way and by being 100% her authentic self, has written hits true to her life experiences and life perspective. Growing up being homeschooled and singing in the church choir, GloRilla lost her voice one day which prompted her to change from singing to rapping, still following her music dreams and performing aspirations. She shares with the guys that her first big hit came from heartbreak and in 2022, her song "F.N.F" went viral and later led to two nominations at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Opening up to the guys about her dating life and how she feels towards men right now, Glo talks about her hurtful experiences which have made her look at love differently and even explore abstinence before realizing she didn't want to take her feelings that far but it did boost her songwriting turning her experiences into lyrics and being able to move a certain way of being unapproachable by men and dedicated to her craft.
Building off her early music success, Glo's 2024 single "Yeah Glo!" became her second song to reach the top 40, and continuing to broaden her reach, GloRilla is preparing to go on tour with Megan Thee Stallion, releasing a mixtape with collaborations with Megan, MoneyBagg Yo and other artists.

LaDainian Tomlinson Hall of Fame Running Back talks about his NFL Career, record breaking seasons, coming up short, growing up on slave plantation, relationship with his dad & his biggest disappointment
Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson sat with Ryan, Channing and Fred to talk about his football career and personal life, transcending from his childhood to family values to his unique path to the NFL as well as shares some of his truths and misconceptions along the way.
There is a certain weight professional athletes carry when they make it to the pinnacle of their sport. As is the case with certain players, though, the pressures can lead to emotions they’ve never felt before. For LaDainian Tomlinson, growing up with just his mom in a place that held so much negative history was the burden he bore.
Tomlinson was a fifth overall pick, played in five Pro Bowls and still holds the NFL record for rushing and scrimmage yards in a season from his 2006 MVP campaign with the Chargers. He was on top of the world for a stretch of seasons and after finishing college as a Heisman finalist, had dominated at each level of the sport. LT gets into the truth behind why he kept his helmet on during the AFC Championship game that he was sidelined for and shares one of his most disappointing moments in life.
Growing up without a dad in the picture very much caught up to him, and left a hole in his life and a desire to get to know his dad more and have the opportunity to spend time with him, but when his dad passed in 2007, LaDainian felt like the chance was missed to get to know him and understand the man he really was. Through his faith and acceptance, he began a journey to learn about his ancestry, and soon found out that his relative’s home of Tomlinson Hill was a slave plantation his ancestors had worked on.
His career that he has described as “close but no cigar” had many iconic moments away from the game, and LT touches on his iconic Hall of Fame acceptance speech as well as his “A Football Life” feature.
With all of his jukes, hurdles and power moves throughout his career, LaDainian Tomlinson’s biggest pivots came away from the game. His championship moments will define his legacy, and his calls for unity represent both history and the future he is hoping to help build.

WWE superstars Bianca and Montez talk WrestleMania 40, their marriage and unlikely journey into wrestling, answer to the scripted speculation vs reality of WWE athletes and how they continue to pave the way for young black men and women in the sport.
The WWE continues to grow to new heights as one of the biggest attractions in sports and entertainment, and this weekend, Philadelphia plays host to Pro Wrestling's Super Bowl as Wrestlemania takes over on April 6 & 7 and will be their grandest stage yet. Extending the event from one night to 48 hours with a WWE roster of superstars and storylines, two of the biggest names in the sport are sitting down with Ryan, Channing and Fred to share their unlikely journey to the top of wrestling and how it has shaped their lives in and outside of the ring from being apart of one of the fastest growing movements in the world to the battles they've overcome to be successful.
Bianca Belair and Montez Ford, the WWE superstar couple, talk about wrestling, their relationship on “Love & WWE”, finding the person they love while doing what they love and their storied journeys into their individual careers. Both former champions, Bianca and Montez have proven they have what it takes to succeed in wrestling and share how they have paved the way for other black men and women to have similar success and open up about how the spotlight away from the ring has affected their careers and personal lives.
Bianca opens up about how her highly competitive track career in highschool and college led to a battle with her diet, body image and eventual depression. The mental struggles mixed with her unhealthy relationship with food created a scenario where she was unable to perform at her best despite her insane amount of athleticism and talent. Afraid of failure, Biancaa leaned on her family and went back home to reset her life and eventually pivoted into a new endeavor, joining the WWE. For Montez, it was a different path, as wrestling was always a passion of his, and when he lost his older sister to a car accident in 2000, wrestling became a true escape and a way of life. Overcoming his own setbacks, Tez discusses how he was too skinny compared to other men in the sport when first trying out but it was his family’s motivation and philosophy to always max out in anything they do that motivated him to keep going.
The two's success opened doors for young men and women who not only looked like them to believe they can have success but all young people to believe that not all journeys are direct paths to the top. With Bianca being the longest reigning RAW world champion during her meteoric rise and Montez winning three different championships as a member of the Tag Team Street Profits alongside Angelo Dawkins, the couple has put on for not only themselves and their families but the black community too. Captivating fans worldwide with their skill and contagious personalities, their on screen love and support for one another has elevated the two into a different level of stardom.
Fred and Ryan can't help but ask the obvious question about the scripted reputation of WWE and ask how Tez and Bianca explain what they do to others and how they deal with their constantly changing storylines while keeping from one another too. Setting the record straight that WWE is non-scripted at its core and what happens from week to week is unknown to them as they go in-depth about how grueling the schedule is, how tiring the performing can be from high-octane jumps to painful moves on the ground, the sport is difficult on the body and mind. With Wrestlemania on the horizon, the two talk about the title fights they are supposed to have but how even being a few days away from being on the biggest stage in wrestling, the two don't quite know what's in store match wise for them.
Their chaotic lifestyle of the WWE is transparently shown in their new Hulu series, as the two figure out what fits their careers while making big decisions about having a family and what's next. Bianca’s Kiss of Death and Montez’s Frog Splash are two of the best finishing moves in the WWE, but this couple’s story is very far from over.

Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor & Channing Crowder talk on The Pivot: Madness of March, NFL Off-season, Deion Sanders' comments, theory on next Quarterback in Dallas, Protecting your kids, learning Grace and being disciplined
Heading into holiday weekend, Ryan, Channing and Fred are sitting to talk about hot topics in the sports world and reflect before Easter Sunday. With March Madness in full swing and the NFL offseason ramping up, the guys talk through many of the big headlines and what ifs!
When people mention March Madness, most thoughts may head to the men’s game, but this season that mindset has been shifted. Ryan brings up the emergence of Caitlin Clark and they break down how influential she has been for women’s basketball. Beyond Iowa’s superstar, though, Channing and Fred can point to more women’s stars this year with the likes of Juju Watkins and Angel Reese than they can men’s.
While they were divided on their takes surrounding Ice Cube’s Big 3 offer to Caitlin, they agree that it is great marketing either way. In college sports branding has become huge, and the draft comments by Deion Sanders on his son Shedeur and Travis Hunter are evident of this.
Deion Sanders has the grounds to make claims on wanting his best players to go to specific destinations, but the pressure put on them to now perform goes beyond that. Channing says teams won’t really listen to Deion, but Ryan’s take on Shedeur going to the Cowboys could be a power play by Sanders.
Easter is a time spent with close ones, and Chan pivots their conversation to the topic of family and the roles of parents. The Nickelodeon documentary “Quiet on Set” shined a light on the mistreatment of child actors, leading to the bigger topic of how to protect their children. Ryan points to instilling the right ideals into your kid while Fred looks at the importance of staying present and aware for your kids.
The Pivot typically focuses on moments in the past that shaped who people are today, but Ryan alters the question by asking what their biggest pivots moving forward should be. Whether it is wishing for more discipline, empathy or pride, the three all agree that nobody is ever perfect, but a good circle and strong morals go a long way.

Derrick Henry on the future for running backs, Titans to Baltimore Ravens, what a Super Bowl win means for his legacy, playing with Lamar Jackson, meaning behind the color purple, best Alabama running back, lessons from Nick Saban and his family support
In one of the biggest NFL off-season moves, Derrick Henry said farewell to the Tennessee Titans and became a Baltimore Raven, which was a bittersweet move for the superstar running back, but one he is embracing and understands what winning a championship would mean to him, his family, his football legacy and shares how wearing the color purple is a full circle moment.
Derrick Henry’s grandmother took care of him for most of his life, so when he arrived in Baltimore wearing a purple suit, her favorite color, it was more than just signing a contract it was a sign from above that he was right he was supposed to be, doing what he loves while paying a tribute to to the woman who raised him and lead him to where he is today.
Sitting with Ryan, Channing and Fred to talk about his iconic career and the moments that shaped the player, the man and the father he is, from high school records to a Heisman Trophy at Alabama, Derrick Henry has excelled at every level of the sport, but it’s not lost on him how hard the journey has been.
In a world where the running back position has been recently questioned and even devalued financially by NFL owners, the guys discuss if it’s an end of the era of old-school running back style and the future of the position. Although Derrick is unwavering about his contributions and the importance of the position to any NFL contender, he admits that if he had a son, he wouldn’t let him play running back. In a surprising statement, the guys get into the why’s and perspective of the position.
Continuing to defy the odds and running his way to NFL history books, Derrick has earned the reputation of one of the best to ever do it, which stems back to his high school days of 57 carries a game into his historic Alabama career as a Heisman winner and lessons from Nick Saban while cementing himself as a top running back among a power list of some of the best to ever do it as Ryan, Channing and Fred undoubtedly point to him as the best back to play at Alabama, although Derrick reluctantly accepts the credit.
The NFL 2nd round pick to the Tennessee Titans had a slow start playing behind Pro Bowler DeMarco Murray for two seasons, but when Derrick finally got his opportunity to become the starter, it wasn’t a straight line to success and his preparation lacked what it needed for him to be where he wanted to be on the NFL level. In 2018, all that changed as he sparked one of the best 5-year runs of any player and tributes his new found motivation and success to spotting butterflies at practice, which are his grandmother’s favorite, giving him the extra motivation he needed and reminder that he was morphing into who he wanted to become on and off the field.
In a funny back and forth between Ryan and Derrick, the guys talk about if Ryan could stop Derrick in certain moves and of course Channing can’t help but voice his commentary on a Ryan vs Derrick on field scenario.
Humble and hardworking, Derrick Henry turns into a machine on the field, running through, around or over any defender in his way. He has gone through dark times at different stages in his life, coming out stronger from each one. Although his grandmother passed away in 2016, he still carries the memories and lessons she instilled in him.
Looking ahead to 2024 season, Derrick knows that winning a Super Bowl is most important to him and means the world and by joining the Ravens, he believes he is on the right squad to make a championship run as the Ravens are a team who’s hungry and has one of the best Quarterbacks in the game at the helm to lead the team. Derrick is eager to get working with the team, and do whatever he needs to contribute to make that Lombardi dream a reality.

Jordan Love Green Bay Quarterback on Packers 2023 season, beating Dallas Cowboys in playoffs, free agency, the mystic of Lambeau Field & overcoming adversity and dealing with the loss of his father early in life
One of the biggest football stories of the 2023 NFL season came out of Green Bay, as Quarterback Jordan Love led his Packers team to the postseason, knocking off the NFC favorite Dallas Cowboys on the road. In his first year as a starter, Love surpassed expectations and rallied a young team to be one of the last standing at the end of the season, coming up just short of playing in the NFC Championship. Love is sitting with Ryan, Channing and Fred to talk about his past year, quieting the doubters while building on the success of this year, free agency moves and Jordan takes us back to how his football journey started, sharing life events that made him question if playing quarterback was even something he could do.
When the Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers’ successor in 2020, they selected Jordan Love out of the state of Utah with the 26th overall pick, and although he was expected to come in as a backup, Jordan understood the responsibility of the long lineage of great QBs in Green Bay history that he was following and the unique opportunity in front of him to learn from one of the game's best to ever do it, in Rodgers.
This past season, getting his opportunity to start after Rodgers left for NY, Love made his position known that he was no longer the back up as it was the start of a new era in Green Bay with a fresh style of QB play under center. Jordan let his on field play do the talking for him, quieting any doubters that he could be the next great Packers QB. Jordan threw for over 4,000 yards and 32 touchdowns in his first season starting and led the Packers to the NFL Playoffs where they knocked off the Dallas Cowboys in an upset victory on the road, garnering league wide respect and earning top honors as one of the best QBs in the game. Coming up short against the 49ers one game shy of the NFC Championship, Jordan looks at the missed opportunities and certain plays he wishes he had back but knows it only makes him better prepared to take on adversity going forward. He shares the highs and lows of the 2023 season and also what he learned from playing behind Rodgers and how he used it to help him become a better leader on the field and a threat to opposing defenses.
In 2023, game by game the football world could see Jordan’s confidence increase while putting up MVP caliber numbers with a young receiving core around him. Jordan talks about the team's progress and how to build off of it this season and is excited with Green Bay's new free agency pickups that only makes the team stronger. Jordan is confident about becoming the team to beat in the NFC North and uses adversity to propel him forward, becoming better each time on the field.
No stranger to loss and setback, at 14 years old, Jordan lost his father, which left a hole in his world but he shares how instrumental his mother and three sisters were in his upbringing and the core of his world now. As a young player, he relied on a strong support system of family and coaches during the process of mourning his dad's sudden passing, but found strength in the adversity and learned to turn his pain into focus of living out his football dream in his father's memory.
Expectations continue to rise around Love and the Packers and Jordan welcomes the pressure to shed the underdog stigma and show the world his team deserves to be respected as one of the top competitors in the NFL.

Jazz Chisholm Marlins Captain and MLB All Star talks his unapologetic approach to baseball, tough journey in the big leagues, relationship with Derek Jeter, life changing moment with Kobe Bryant and why this year's team is the best one
Baseball has long been a game of tradition and unwritten rules that players are afraid to break. That was until this new generation stepped up to the plate and began to change the way players approach the sport. One young superstar is helping lead this charge.
Miami Marlins All-Star Jazz Chisholm sat down with Ryan, Channing and Fred to talk about his baseball career so far and discuss what makes him so special. The MLB The Show 23 cover athlete has brought flair and fandom to Florida baseball, and he goes in-depth on what has led him to his current success.
Becoming the 7th Bahama-born player in Major League Baseball, Jazz had a long road to the majors. He has always been the youngest player on every team he plays on, and his move to Wichita, Kansas made him as isolated as ever. He was a high school senior at 16 years old and gave The Pivot guys an idea of what type of change it was for a young Jazz.
After his minor league move from the Arizona to Miami system, Jazz revealed how difficult his 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons were for him once he reached the MLB. From his habits to his fashion he butted heads with veteran players, and when his old idol Kobe Bryant passed away, he relied on part-owner Derek Jeter for some moral support.
With the new era of the Miami Marlins here, Jazz has a newfound love for the sport on and off the field. The clubhouse is packed with familiar faces and a positive energy, and for the first time he is arriving to Spring Training early and staying late. The music and anime lover may still have his downtime, but the team’s camaraderie has broken his independence. As his grandmother is still a Bahama softball legend and a family of 20 comes to many of his games, Jazz is loosening up on the diamond.
The Jordan Brand athlete knows a thing or two about how to look the part, but the ice-cold chains and stylish kicks are being worn by one of the hottest players in the game today. When the Marlins needed a leader, they looked to the Bahamian, and Miami will be glad with the MVP-caliber player they chose to rally behind.

Channing has known Joy for over 20 years after playing along side her Hall of Fame brother, Jason Taylor and how exposure to his career helped shape her own journey in sports. As the current co-host of “Speak” and veteran Fox Sports personality, Joy opens up about how her perspective being shaped through her experiences, pointing to the ways in which audiences interact with her content.
Taylor’s authenticity in interviews has made her one of the industry’s best, and she mentions how the choosing her words carefully enables people to let guard down and open up. Sauce Gardner: 2 sides to every story as the All Pro responds to recent negativity surrounding the NY Jets, locker room culture, Aaron Rodgers, team's needs in Free Agency & personal growth after getting hacked
“There’s 2 sides to everything. And I’m a realist, so I’m always going to keep it 100.” Sauce Gardner
The NY Jets 2x All-Pro cornerback is setting the record straight, responding to verbal accusations about the organization and providing context to unanswered questions and speculation surrounding the Jets culture and future of the team. Only the 3rd guest to make a repeat appearance on The Pivot, Sauce chats with Ryan, Fred and Channing about everything from growing up in Detroit to his love of music to being a leader in the locker room to what 2024 looks like for The Jets but most importantly, Sauce was strong in his purpose of letting the world know, the bull crap and false talk about his team, needs to come to an end.
Stemming from a recent conversation The Pivot had with Mecole Hardman, Hardman spoke out against his former NY team, listing numerous reasons he was happy to have left the organization as well as revealed the inner workings from his experience that painted the team as complacent and a disorganized mess from the top down lacking leadership, treating star players differently than the rest of the roster and not being able to have success despite having extreme talent.
Sauce spoke out on social media after the Hardman did along with other Jets players who also debunked the claims sharing his side speaking in facts only about the team, their approach and the coaching. He was extremely clear on certain aspects of the season, spoke in detail about the locker room mentality and made sure it was known that the standard is the standard in NY and the team is not an ego driven program as described. Although frustrated with the narrative that Hardman and others have used about the Jets, Sauce is open about wanting others to succeed and believing everyone can eat if they work hard enough, he applauds Mecole for another Super Bowl win but says he should have taken the high road and not even mentioned his former team.
The 23 yr old, young in age but wise far beyond his years, carries himself more as a veteran in the NFL than the young rising star he is. The early expectations were not for Sauce to reach the level of stardom he has now, yet with all of the fame and success, he discusses the importance of humility and grace. With a 96 overall Madden rating, Sauce understands that it’s the little things that separate people from good to great which is why he explains making it a priority to learn something new as often as he can by chatting with everyone in the building from the GM to the cafeteria people to the groundskeepers to his teammates, understanding that’s the best way to sharpen your skills is through communication and never being too big to learn from anyone.
Playing in the biggest city brings a lot of attention and sometimes turmoil, which Sauce details one particular incident that highlighted his new reality while using his roots to handle the issue. This was the cause for roughing the waters between Sauce and Hardman, as he explains his former teammate’s involvement in the situation. Dealing with a hacking issue on Snapchat, false claims about his personal life, exposure of privacy on blogs while also being extorted, Sauce never caved from who he is at the core and never allowed the off the field chaos to affect his play.
The only player to be named First Team All-Pro in his first two seasons since the 1970 merger, Sauce has etched his name as one of the best at the position and is just getting started. Being touted as a future Hall of Famer comes with a lot of pressure, which is why he continues to focus on each day like it’s his first day. Sauce didn’t have a role model growing up, so he strives to set an example and be a voice to young guys who came up just like him.
With free agency underway and the draft coming up, Sauce says his team wants are simple, “I want Aaron to feel comfortable in the pocket and for Garrett to not always be double teamed.”

Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor & Channing Crowder talk on The Pivot: When Someone is Alive, Give Them Their Flowers, Know your Value, Lesson's from OG's & Explaining sex to your kids
Down in Florida for Channing's comedy show this past week, Fred, Ryan and Chan get together to have a conversation about life, all the new updates in each of their own careers and talk about what's next while looking back at the strides they've all made individually and as a group. Knowing your worth can take you a long way. Whether that be in sports, careers, relationships or within your own family, understanding your value is a key piece to life. But a life practice we often take for granted is never giving someone their flowers while they are here and sometimes it being too late, and the person never hearing while being alive. The guys talk about the importance of recognizing and sharing with others, celebrating the wins when we get them and showing up for one another to support.
Chan’s 2nd comedy show was a success and he's really starting to pour his time into his craft and exploring this new venture. He says he may be better at comedy than football but the guys disagree and say it's a different calling and is just excelling differently in each. Ryan talks about Channing's gift to make others laugh and feel good and Fred says he's been impressed in the fast progress he's making which Channing says he owes to asking questions to OG's and never being too big or grown to ask for help and advice as he learns. Whether you are an athlete, a comedian, a singer, a coach or anything, never be afraid to look to those who came before you to ask for guidance and that's how the good ones become great.
Getting their NFL starts all came differently as Channing and Fred were drafted and went to the NFL Scouting Combine while Ryan had a different path. The guys talked about the humbling experiences and also how it's different now with so many top draft prospects choosing to not work out much like Channing and Fred were instructed to do and guys talk about the records broken at this year's combine and guys like Jayden Daniels choosing not to participate while in Indy. Ryan reflected on how he truly learned about himself through the undrafted free agency process while Chan explains that football takes place on the field, and that if you can play, you can play, so you define your own value.
The biggest off-season Pivot news has been Ryan being a free agent again and finally re-negotiating a new 3 year deal with ESPN, something he negotiated and represented himself independently through. Ryan opens up about the process and describes having to fight for what he believes he has earned, through his platform and how this process was much different than his first go around to now but stuck to what he envisioned at this point and came to agreement where he was able to get most of what he wants but still knows there is work to be done.
Understanding relationships are everything, the guys turn to talking about their families, and how raising kids now is much different than when they grew up. Fred brings up the recent quote from Bradley Cooper in which he says he didn’t love his child immediately and how it was difficult in the beginning and the guys discuss being fathers and developing that instant unconditional love you would kill for. Each parent may be wired differently, but that loving instinct is what gravitates fathers and mothers to their kids. As the guys talk about this bond, Channing asks how they first talked to their children about sex and how he is handling it now as his kids are getting to an age of asking lots of questions. There's no parenting handbook for tough topics, but finding your own approach with each child is something the guys find works for them as fathers.
Circling back to giving someone their flowers when they are here, the guys wrap up the conversation with an homage to ESPN legend Chris Mortensen who recently passed away, and Ryan shares his favorite story of Chris while talking through the strength of their relationship.

Episode Highlights:
Almost not making it to NFL
NFL’s fastest man, 2024/25 MVP?
Mahomes locker room vs Tua's
Relationship with Andy Reid
Inside the Miami Dolphins & leadership
Response to personal rumors & headlines
Finding Faith in family & marriage
8x pro bowler, Super Bowl champion and the fastest man in the NFL, Tyreek Hill sits down with Ryan, Channing and Fred to reflect on being the highest paid receiver, going from juco to the pros, leaving Kansas City to play for the Miami Dolphins, restoring his faith to get back to football and how his marriage is in fact his strength, despite rumored headlines.
Calling himself the Kat Williams of wide receivers but known as Cheetah to the football world, Tyreek Hill prides himself in being an open book and sometimes too open but he’s always going to speak his truth. Tyreek shares what his life was like as a child, the bumpy road to the NFL, almost losing football and how one bad decision can cost you everything.
On pace to do record breaking numbers at the start of this past season, no one was catching Tyreek with his speed and electric route running which had him in the MVP conversation until injury slowed him up but he learned how to play through the pain to stay on the field. The Dolphins were front runners to win a tough AFC East and their on and off the field success documented in HBO’s Hard Knocks in-season show.
Despite falling short to his former team this season, Tyreek still believes the Dolphins were the better team over the Chiefs but fell victim to the “Any Given” Sunday theory that any team can rise to the occasion any week. Tyreek talks about playing with Mahomes and Travis Kelce, describes the locker room in KC vs the one in Miami now, why he believes the Dolphins are on the rise, praises Jalen Waddle and their offensive weapons and never forgets that he owes a lot to Andy Reid for the player and man he is today.
Bad decisions in college resulted in minimum exposure early on and little opportunity to show his skills early making his path seem unlikely, until Tyreek’s life changed with one phone call to be drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs which led to him being a household name, feared by defenses and ultimately as Super Bowl champion.
Looking up to Randy Moss and admiring Antonio Brown as the best in his position, Tyreek’s mindset has always been the same, to be the most dynamic player on the NFL field every week. Not allowing personal distractions interfere with his career aspirations, Tyreek has turned to faith and focusing on being the leader of the team as a trusted voice to younger guys as well as become the protector of his teammates.
Fred stirs the pot to give Tyreek a chance to explain his social media banter with RC after Ryan made some comments on Tua early in the season, and the guys have fun with it but also get into what kind of player and leader Tua is striving to be. Channing couldn’t let Tyreek go without asking him to weigh in on his former KC pals, how his relationship has changed with Kelce and Mahomes and if he ever saw Travis dating Taylor Swift and his answer is not going to get him canceled!
Before the fame, the man people know as cheetah today, grew up in Pearson, Georgia raised by his grandparents, Tyreek grew up in the church serving either playing the drums or praising dancing. Those early moments of his life in church instilled his love of God and faith, which later helped him transcend throughout his career.
From being a newlywed to divorce rumors to parental headlines to his family home catching on fire making national news, Tyreek knows he is constantly under the microscope and relies on the continued support of his wife, grandparents and kids to tune out the noise and let his play do the talking.

Former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, sits down with The Pivot Podcast ahead of his fight on Oct 15th at the Barclays Center vs. Robert Helenius, which is his long-awaited return after suffering two straight knockouts from Tyson Fury.
Traveling to Tuscaloosa, Deontay's hometown and place where he's been training- Ryan, Channing and Fred are blown away by the journey and growth Deontay expresses and how he's dedicated the past few years to finding himself. From his environment shaping the man he is today to the impact becoming a father has had on his career to his experience with ayahuasca to his plans left in boxing. Considered one of the most prolific boxers of this era, the guys respect his journey from being a small town guy to global stardom and how his upbringing and need to protect himself and loved ones as a means of survival mode shaped him to one of the most successful athletes in the sport.
After struggling with suicidal thoughts and suffering from mental health fears, Deontay took the initiative to start rebuilding and healing from the personal and professional trauma experienced. With highs, come lows, and Deontay opens up to the guys and talks about his suicide attempt.
A decision lots of athletes face, Wilder explains how he overcame his lowest point, and why he embraces everyday...thankful for being alive. eContinuously on a journey of self-discovery, Deontay talks about ayahuasca and credits his experience with changing his views on life and refocusing his mind on boxing. The birth of his daughter, Naieya Wilder, served as his inflection point and greatest source of motivation. Naeiya was diagnosed with spina bifida in March of 2005 and Wilder turned to boxing as a way to release his family from the shackles of poverty. He quickly learned that his childhood fights served as a master class for his natural-born gift when he sparred with a professional and won.
Ryan asks if Deontay has respect for Tyson Fury which he immediately says no while sticking to his story that Fury didn't win that fight naturally and created an unfair matchup. When asked why he didn't speak up more vocally on his thoughts, Deontay honestly responds he didn't want to mess up his opportunity financially and entertaining fans around the world. In recognition of his impact and growth, his home town of Tuscaloosa recently honored Deontay with a statue in the heart of his hometown, which he cites as his biggest accomplishment.
