Why do so many black controversial shows have such short shelf lives?The Carmichael Show is one of my favorite TV shows. It is a sitcom that features a family of black people who discuss every day topics from "Plan B birth control" to "the N-word". They take the topic of the show, no matter how controversial, and do a masterful job of making the topic hilarious, while exposing the audience to different perspectives on it.Well, the show is coming to an end after 3 seasons. Not because of ratings. Not because of protests. Because the creator and star of the show has decided that 3 seasons is enough and that he wants to quit.First of all, I totally understand that Jerrod Carmichael has the right to do whatever it is that he wants. Today, I have a talk with musician, Lee Brown to discuss a tragedy that occurred just weeks ago in Indiana.  On Valentine's Day, the bodies of two teen girls were found on the hiking trails of Delphi, IN.  The man who is suspected of killing these girls is on the loose.  One of the girls was brave enough to turn on her phone and get a photo of the man as well as capture his voice.  His face can be seen and his voice can be heard here.For the town of Delphi, it's a very small community (approx. 3,000 people), so everyone pretty much knows everyone.  That's where Lee comes in.  He wants to make a difference and not only raise money for the families of the victims, but also raise awareness to track down the man who committed this cowardly act.Lee managed to put together a compilation music album with various artist from the small community and surrounding community.  ALL proceeds will be going to the families. The album will be distributed world wide on all major online retailers as well as hard copies available in the community and can be ordered. While visiting one of their favorite fast food restaurants, two sisters observed a young man walking in the mall, sagging his pants which revealed his underwear. One sister was so disgusted with seeing this awful site that she immediately lost her appetite and couldn’t finish her meal. It was at that table in the food court at a mall in Mobile, Alabama that G.A.B.S. was formed. The sisters believed that they could use their gift of “gab” to start a conversation with other girls, and those girls could have a conversation with other girls, and so on, about working together to end this disgusting sagging pants epidemic. Wow.  Has it been 5 years already?  Back on February 20, 2011, I launched the very first episode of the "Thank, Q Radio Show."  It was about 15 minutes long and no one called in.  I ranted about relationships and gave my two cents on how I felt things should work.  After that show, I wondered if I'd ever do it again.
