Austin Deathtrip was started in February 2011 in Oldenburg/Germany, consisting of members of Buzz Aldrin, Carthago Must Fall, Lying Apart and Slayensemble (Slayer-tribute) - bands that have been around in the metal scene for many years. We aim to play no-frills, down-to-earth metal that varies between grooving and fast songs/blastbeats etc.Despite shredding guitars and furious screams as a trademark of our music, we try not to be influenced by stereotyped thinking and labels of metal too much. Anyhow, our songs can be considered as a bow before bands we admire, such as Pantera, (old) Sepultura, Chimaira or Misery Index. That's why we think our style can best be described as neo-thrash/core stepping on the gas pedal occasionally.Titels such as "Terence Hills Have Ice" or "Butt Spanker" are a reference that we don't take ourselves too seriously and also display the humor we aim to spread live on stage, kicking some major butt. Our self-produced EP "Texas Bulldozer" (which can be downloaded for free from our website) was released in August 2012 and has got us some quite positive reactions throughout the local scene. The recording sessions were filmed and clips of song playthroughs can be found on Youtube. Besides, two "music videos" emerged from random material of which especially the lyric video for "Cain" was well-liked. A full-length album is planned to be recorded in spring 2013.
