Kino Club Review White Noise (2022)

There are actually quite a few movies called White Noise, but we are reviewing the most recent movie with that name that can also be seen if you have a subscription to Netflix. It is an absurdist comedy that takes place in the 1980s. This review gets a bit heated and we were almost forced to medically sedate Marshall. Whatever you think of this film, I really hope you like our discussion of it. Kino Club Review Triangle of Sadness (2022)

In this podcast Marshall and Pat (sans Norbert) discuss the 2022 film Triangle of Sadness and repeat the phrase "socio/economic" over and over again. We missed having Norbert and even tried to recall bits of his wisdom that related to this film, but I still think we did a pretty good job. This movie is the first English language film of Swedish writer/director Ruben Östlund. The story is labelled as a black comedy and it definitely has some quirks. BUT IS IT ANY GOOD? Well, check out our review and see what we thought. We thoroughly enjoyed talking about this movie and hope you have as much fun listening.CreditsHost: Patrick [email protected]: Norbert [email protected]/Cohost/: [email protected] Voice in the show bumpers: Bobbie AshleyBobbie's Amazing first albumhttps://rb.gy/hfpluuBobbie's Bookshttps://rb.gy/bjzijuIntro and exit music: Jon DacostaSong title: Funky IntroSpotify Link to a couple of Jon's projects:Cuba: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2SWNpmjhVyCCcHGb3ZUl0b?si=xuqPreLCSGakMyKeFbRDBQHighland Reunionhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/2FkBd7GBKSINGFXediVPDy?si=NnPRxEXRRy-9PU5w_B1e0gSupport the show

Kino Club Review The Netflix Film Extraction (2020)

In this review we discuss the 2020 film Extraction. Rotten Tomatoes says, "A black-market mercenary who has nothing to lose is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible." This movie stars Chris Hemsworth as the mercenary. After watching this film I was surprised that I hadn't really heard any buzz about this. For one thing, when this came out, it was the most expensive movie that Netflix had paid for. Maybe you're curious like me and wonder if this is worth seeing. Well, we give you our rundown in this episode. Have you seen the film? Did you like it or not?
