Support women’s sports: use code HERITAGE15 for 15% off XX-XY Athletics merchandise!Jennifer Sey has been speaking truth and standing up for women and children for nearly two decades. First, in 2008 when she wrote a book called “Chalked Up,” exposing the abusive coaching practices in gymnastics. Despite her credentials (7x National Team Member and 1986 National Champ), the gymnastics community didn’t much like the things she was saying. (Apparently you were supposed to protect the reputations of abusive coaches and Jen didn’t get that memo.) But she persisted. And truth outed in the end. She stood up again in 2020, speaking inconvenient truths during covid in saying public schools should be open because children’s education matters. For that, she was ostracized by friends and her community, and her reputation took a beating. But she persisted. And truth outed in the end. Jen has also had a successful professional career. She is actually quite the brand builder, having been named one of Forbes’ Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers 2 years in a row. Now, Jen is taking all that experience as an athlete, an executive and an advocate for women and children to build something uniquely her own. The brand is called XX-XY Athletics, and it is the only athletic brand standing up for women’s sports. If you believe in truth and common sense and want best in class workout gear, this is the brand you’ve been waiting for. The truth looks good on you. Hosted on Acast. If you question gender ideology, you’d better keep your mouth shut. But a compelling new book features multiple interviews with detransitioners and gives a voice to young people who were caught up in this damaging ideology. Detransitioners' experience reveals that there's more complexity and pain involved in that category than most people will ever guess. The number of teens and pre-teens persuaded they were born with the wrong body has exploded. Goaded by a toxic online “community” and assisted by teachers, doctors, and even their own parents, they are promptly set on the path of puberty-blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gruesome “gender-affirming” surgeries.Media and activists insist that “transitioning” is the happy ending to these stories. But countless young people bear terrible emotional and physical scars. Adding to their anguish, the transgender community that once embraced them now wants to keep them quiet. Now one fearless reporter, Mary Margaret Olohan, shares their stories. Based on in-depth personal interviews, Detrans exposes the unconscionable abuse these detransitioners have endured—manipulative therapy sessions, mental and emotional anguish, botched surgeries, and attempts to construct phantom body parts. #106 | Michael Barone
Michael Barone is the senior political analyst for the Washington Examiner, a resident fellow emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute, author of Mental Maps of the Founders, and the longtime co-author of The Almanac of American Politics. The Founding Fathers were men of high intellect, steely integrity, and enormous ambition—but they were not all of one mind. They came from particular places in already diverse colonies, and they all sought their futures in different horizons. Without reliable maps of even nearby terrain, they contributed in different, and sometimes conflicting, ways to the expansion of a young republic on the seaboard edge of a continent of whose vast expanses they were largely ignorant. Mental Maps of the Founders explores the geographic orientation—the mental maps—of six of the Founders. Three were Virginians, who vied to expand their new nation toward different points of the compass. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

"Fire the bureaucrats and close the agencies!" The Telegraph’s Steven Edginton sits down with Kevin to discuss the state of conservatism in America, President Biden, the Blob, and the urgency of courageous leadership. Will the U.S. elect a president with the tenacity needed to “punch the nose” of the deep state? “We believe at Heritage that a conservative, whether it’s President Trump or someone else in the field, will replace President Biden, thank goodness, and it isn’t enough for whoever that is to govern [as a] conservative. Tactically they have to wake up every day and say, what part of the American administrative state am I going to destroy today? Not reform, not modify, not tweak, destroy; fire the bureaucrats, close agencies, end, as is my pet project, the U.S. Department of Education. “If [Republicans] don’t have the backbone like Lady Thatcher, like President Reagan, to stand up to the Blob and to destroy it, we will lose America. #90 | Governor Kim Reynolds
Just two years ago, not a single state had universal school choice. Today, nine do. To understand how groundbreaking this education renaissance is, just look at the state of Iowa. Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA) began 2023 by signing into law the Students First Act , which allows all Iowa families to receive funds in an education savings account, or ESA, to attend the school of their choice. But Reynolds didn’t stop at school choice, either. She also signed into law a common-sense parental rights bill, SF 496 , that prohibits instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in public schools in grades K-6 and prohibits school libraries from stocking sexually explicit materials. The law also requires libraries to post their card catalogs online for the sake of transparency. These groundbreaking reforms have earned the Hawkeye State the Heritage Foundation’s 2023 Education Freedom Award. Join Kevin and Gov. Reynolds as they explore the pivotal role of school choice in revitalizing education systems, amplifying parental autonomy, and breaking free from conventional educational norms. From battling foster care shutdowns and COVID-era mandates to preserving parental rights in education, Mark Rienzi, president and CEO of The Becket Fund, joins Kevin to discuss the everyday ramifications for religious liberty lawsuits. Episode 86 | Liz Wheeler
When it comes to the Left’s desire to control American kids, institutions, and government, “expect escalation,” Liz Wheeler writes in her new book, “Hide Your Children: Exposing the Marxists Behind the Attack on America's Kids.” There is no denying the disastrous result of pandemic policies that shut down America and pushed kids out of the classroom—the latest ACT and NAEP results underscore the crisis. Millions of American parents have discovered that their school systems, which were failing to teach students even basic math and literacy skills, happily took precious class time to preach that America is systemically racist or to propagate the latest nonsensical gender theories. Liz Wheeler, host of The Liz Wheeler Show, joins Kevin to talk about how education in America reached this point and how to fight back. Liz is unapologetically one of the conservative movement’s boldest voices. In Politico’s words, Liz is a “titan” of media. A frequent target of the radical Left and the phony fact-checkers, Liz is undeterred—maybe even energized. As the host of The Liz Wheeler Show, Liz is a voice of reason and reality for millions of Americans as she guides them through the most controversial stories of the day. Liz is passionate about exposing corruption and calling out the so-called “experts.” She is rigorous in her research and committed to her faith. Her drive to relentlessly defend against the radical leftist takeover of our culture is born of a desire to see properly ordered society thrive in America once again—a society that values God over government, freedom over convenience, and individual liberty over victimhood and identity politics. The ominous specter of political persecution and the erosion of constitutional safeguards by U.S. intelligence agencies now loom as genuine threats to the bedrock of our republic. In recent years, both the FBI and the CIA have overstepped their bounds by engaging in unwarranted surveillance of American citizens, particularly those who hold conservative viewpoints. Shockingly, they have even wielded the threat of domestic terrorism investigations against parents who dared to raise their voices during school board meetings. Former Director of Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, joins Kevin to dissect the critical issues plaguing the U.S. intelligence community today. Together, they explore avenues for conservatives to reform this system, preserving our vital capabilities in the face of a mounting threat from China while staunchly defending against insidious political abuses. Episode 37 | Brendan Carr
At Heritage, we’re not afraid to call it how it is: Big Tech is an enemy of the American people. They have essentially unencumbered access to Americans’ personal information, have colluded to censor and de-platform dissenting voices—mostly conservatives—and perhaps worst of all, have partnered with the Chinese Communist Party to develop surveillance technologies to oppress its own people and military technologies that threaten ours. Between the cancel culture mob and foreign adversaries, we must find a way to champion freedom of speech and national security; something much easier said than done. Brendan Carr, commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), gives an insider's perspective on how America is tackling today’s biggest tech issues. Nominated by President Trump, Commissioner Brendan Carr is the senior Republican at the FCC. His goals for the commission include modernizing America’s communication infrastructure, upgrading to 5G, and expanding the skilled labor force. Hosted on Acast. Episode 36 | Daron Babcock
In the current political environment, it may seem dubious to believe that one day 330 million Americans could wake up and believe that they’re part of a civil society that recognizes their dignity as a human person. But it’s not impossible. Daron Babcock believes there is hope. Human dignity ought to be the end-all-be-all that guides us. Restoring self-governance and cultivating human flourishing starts with community. Daron and Kevin address the importance of community in restoring lives and why a focus on independence, rather than dependence on decades of failed public programs, has been both the path to success in Bonton, Texas and a model for poverty-stricken cities across the country. Bonton, Texas, a small South Dallas neighborhood has long been plagued by crime, drugs, and gang violence. Daron Babcock shares how a Bonton, where 85% of the men have been to prison, has become a beacon of hope and a model for success. This week’s guest: Moved by his personal beliefs, Daron Babcock couldn’t sit idly by as he witnessed his neighbors in South Dallas be ravaged by institutional inequities. In 2012, he left a successful corporate career and moved from his home in North Dallas to serve inner-city residents of Bonton, Texas with his wife, Theda. Known for crime, violence, and extreme poverty, Bonton needed intervention at the macro-level – something Daron knew was not only necessary but possible. Daron is referred to as a “social entrepreneur,” having started multiple successful social ventures; Bonton Honey Company, The Market at Bonton Farms, a Coffee House, a Farmers Market, and CityBuild Housing to name a few. Of all his ventures, the most notable, though, is Bonton Farms, one of the largest urban farms in the United States nestled in a once-forgotten neighborhood in South Dallas. Hosted on Acast. Episode 11 | Chris Rufo
This week, we’re talking about Critical Race Theory — one of the most dangerous, subversive, and sinister ideologies facing us that classifies Americans based on the color of their skin, and pits them against one another, casting citizens as either oppressor or oppressed.Joining to dive deeper into this issue is Chris Rufo, an investigative reporter who has worked tirelessly to uncover how Critical Race Theory’s and woke ideology are creeping into education, the corporate world, and beyond.SHOW NOTES:Heritage resources on Critical Race Theory: https://www.heritage.org/critical-race-theory Check out Jonathan Butcher's new book, "Splintered: Critical Race Theory and the Progressive War on Truth" here: https://www.amazon.com/Splintered-Critical-Theory-Progressive-Truth/dp/1637582668 Submit documentation of CRT training at your school or workplace to...Parents Defending Education (defendinged.org) Christopher Rufo (christopherrufo.com)The Daily Signal ([email protected]) How to submit an Open Records Request: https://s3.amazonaws.com/hafa/Tips-for-Submitting-Open-Records-Request.pdf?mtime=20210601161910&focal=none Read Jay Greene's work, here: https://www.heritage.org/staff/jay-p-greene-phd Check out more of Chris Rufo's work, here: https://christopherrufo.com/ Hosted on Acast. Episode 10 | Valerie Huber
This week, we’re gonna pull back the curtain on the hypocrisy of the left’s so-called pro-woman agenda. In reality, it’s often pro-woman in name only. It’s a screen they hide behind to push a whole host of radical, far-left policies. When you peel back the layers, you’ll find that those policies are often actually extremely harmful to women. Joining the show to lay out policies that actually help and empower women is Valerie Huber, president and CEO of The Institute for Women’s Health. Hosted on Acast. Episode 9 | Terry Schilling
This week, we’re going to talk about a crisis that strikes at the heart of our country, our society, and ultimately, our families — the boy crisis. An absence of fathers is a primary driver in this dilemma, one exacerbated by the left's push to dismantle the concept of family as we fundamentally understand it. As we address this boy crisis, it becomes increasingly clear just how desperately our culture needs men — men guided by truth, who love their families, and take responsibility for bettering this country. So how do we reclaim boys, men, and ultimately families as an institutional building block of society? We’re tackling just that with Terry Schilling. Terry serves as president of the American Principles Project, an organization dedicated to making the family the most well-represented special interest group here in our nation’s capital. PLUS: Reactions to woke children’s books — books the left are employing in their attempt to radicalize your kids. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 8 | Jonathan Sanford
Our public education system has been utterly captured by woke activists more interested in politics than knowledge. During the Covid pandemic, teachers’ unions, school boards, and education bureaucracies proved themselves openly hostile to the rights of parents and interests of students – and above any accountability to the taxpayers and families they serve.Leftist educational officials advocate for rolling both radical gender ideology and critical race theory into curricula. Their goal is indoctrinating the coming generations of Americans.Meanwhile, American universities have not only turned on our country’s history and ideals. They have turned on the traditional idea of education itself. How? Why? And what can Americans do about it? We’re taking all of it on. We’ll hear from University of Dallas president Jonathan Sanford, and Heritage Action for America executive director Jessica Anderson. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 7 | Erik Finman
Big Tech is bent on pushing a left-leaning agenda, inching us ever closer to a reality where those they disagree with — often conservatives — have their liberties hampered.Their influence has spread to high echelons of government and continually deeper into our lives as our world becomes more and more integrated with the digital space. As we’ve seen in the case of the Freedom Convoy truckers in Canada, something as simple as banking and purchasing power can be stripped away from citizens in this digital era.Unfortunately, this problem isn’t bound to Canada, but has cropped up in the United States as well.Joining us to confront the ugly reality of Big Tech’s ever tightening grip on our lives — on our speech, our politics, and even our commerce — and etch out how we can push back is Erik Finman, an entrepreneur who became a millionaire as a teenager building a multi-million dollar cryptocurrency company. This week, we’re talking about all the trouble in the world and, in particular, the greatest source of it: the Chinese Communist Party.Even in the midst of war in Europe, and inflation and border crises here at home, there is no topic more important to America’s national interests these days than China, and no one better to hear from than former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.PLUS: We'll hear from Heritage's own Brent Sadler — a Navy Veteran with more than 25 years of experience who served on the China Branch at the Pentagon. Episode 5 | Rep. Brian Babin
In just a little over a year, Joe Biden has created the worst immigration crisis our country has ever faced. When he came into office, he went to work immediately uprooting and upending so many effective policies that were working to keep our border secure. We’ve seen men, women, and young children trafficked across the border by violent smugglers and drug cartels who extort them, abuse them, and even kill them. What’s more — the crisis has opened the floodgates to a surge of deadly drugs like fentanyl, which have become a serious problem in cities and towns across our land.Simply put, Biden’s policies have sent a message to the rest of the world—a message that says America’s borders are wide open, and that lawbreaking is tolerated, and in some cases, rewarded. Joining us to break down just how bad things have become — and guidance on how we can shore up this influx of crime and — are Congressman Brian Babin and the former head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Mark Morgan. Episode 4 | Julio Rosas
We watch it, read it, listen to it — on our computers, our phones, and our televisions — even on the radio. It’s the news. Unfortunately, so many legacy and corporate news outlets prioritize advancing someone’s political agenda over revealing the truth — something that has become all too common. At a time when we need solid facts, Americans are often poorly served. So how do we confront this dilemma? Is there anywhere we can turn for trustworthy and honest reporting? Townhall reporter Julio Rosas — someone who has been on the front lines of critical stories in America — joins us to share his insights on the consequences of media malpractice.PLUS: Armed with more than 20 years of journalism experience and recipient of prestigious awards in this field, Heritage’s own vice president of communication, Rob Bluey, weighs in on the issue. Episode 3 | Sen. Mike Lee
Economic freedom is one of mankind’s best ideas. It is responsible for more advances in living standards, health, knowledge, multicultural harmony and social justice than anything else we’ve come up with in the last 2,000 years. This week, we’re joined by Senator Mike Lee of Utah to dig into just what that freedom looks like, how the fight to preserve it is shaping up as the Biden administration continually pushes for radical spending that would further bloat the federal government, and more.PLUS: Heritage’s own Matt Dickerson breaks down Capitol Hill’s budget process and how we can dig ourselves out of a hole of debt 30 trillion dollars deep. Episode 2 | Sen. Rick Scott
This week, we're digging into Special Counsel John Durham’s latest filing on the origins of the FBI's Russia investigation. This newest batch of information exposes the hypocrisy of not only the radical left, but just how far they’ll go to advance the interests of the elite over that of the American people. While lack of fair coverage from the legacy media is perhaps not surprising, it's certainly disappointing. What's more — the scandal flies in the face of the narrative that Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 election — a narrative promoted by the Clinton campaign and others on the left.None of this is lost on Senator Rick Scott; quite the contrary. The former Governor of Florida has long demanded transparency on this issue, calling for the media to cover it fairly. He joins the show to share his insight into what's going on — and what's next.Plus: Heritage's own Mike Howell jumps in to share how policymakers can help prevent something like this from happening again. He also discusses Heritage's Conservative Oversight Project, and more. Each episode of The Kevin Roberts Show is a weekly rallying cry for lovers of freedom everywhere, packed with Dr. Roberts’ analysis on the issues of the day and deep conversations with the movers and shakers of American politics and culture.
