For all football fans or football widows we all know that sometimes those big FA Cup games become unmissable events, especially if your team is in the running. For one Coventry City fan back in 1987, the FA CUP final meant he missed the birth of his daughter, to find out more, meet Michelle WEMBLEY McQueen, yes you heard it right, he named her Wembley!

The Fancasters joined Clive after a disappointing loss against West Brom on Friday, following a controversial formation change.They also spoke about how Coventry City Manager Mark Robins is celebrating his 7th year at the club, becoming one of the longest-standing managers in the club's history. BBC CWR's Clive Eakin also caught up with Jamie McAllister, host of the podcast 'That Blind Lads podcast', which aims to promote and raise awareness around equality, diversity, and inclusion in several areas, including sports. They spoke about the latest campaign, 'Unite for Access', which is a celebration of inclusion at sports venues.Fancasters also looked ahead to the next league match against Rotherham and the next round of the FA Cup against Wolves.

What a day it was at the CBS Arena when Leicester City came to Coventry along the M69 for the derby game. Anyone want a Sky Blues Fancast? Oh go on then. Together they look back on an historic day at the CBS which saw Coventry City go one nil down after Dewsbury-Hall scored from the penalty spot at the end of the first half and in a few minutes of drama Leicester City then went down to 10 men after a foul on Jake Bidwell.Bring on the second half and Coventry City took advantage of the extra man and after Mark Robins made some excellent substitutions Callum O’Hare went on to score another brace with Milan van Ewijk scoring in between the two to take them ahead. On this week’s episode of The Sky Blues Fancast Lorna Bailey unpicks the loss with Anthony, Alex and Lewis from Coventry City’s official LGBTQ+ Supporters Club, Proud Sky Blues. Together they chat about the 2-0 home defeat which saw the unbeaten record at the CBS gone and the third straight defeat for Mark Robins team. Are they panicking yet about the league position, the lack of goals, and do they trust in the process? They talk about the fans and the player’s confidence as they travel away next to Deepdale where they haven’t won! This week on the Sky Blues Fancast – there’s a mini appearance of Delia Smith post the last home match before the international break. It was Norwich City who came to the CBS Arena and it ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to a late own goal from Ben Gibson – cue Sky Blue limbs. Lorna Bailey met up with fans Anthony, Mark and Patrick at the Jimmy Hill Statue to discuss the match which saw Mark Robins start Ellis Simms and Haji Wright up front together for the first time with Godden on the bench. It was a fast paced match with the Sky Blues having the majority of the attempts on goal and the majority of the possession as well. The Fancast look at Eccles performance, discover how a Frenchman (Patrick) ended up in a love affair with Coventry City and you’ll hear from defender Liam Kitching who made his full debut in the match. Manager Mark Robins also gives his post-match thoughts. Talk of the fans on social media this week involved a lot of chat about the team building bowling trip video and there’s also discussion of how not only the team are gelling but also the fans – it was LOUD at the CBS on Saturday.

On this episode of the Sky Blues Fancast Lorna Bailey is joined by fans Sam, Sim and Jas to discuss the match and the disappointment of the late equaliser for Hull City which saw Coventry City take a point on the road. You will hear from the Coventry City Manager, Mark Robins and goal scorer Joel Latibeaudiere. He focuses on how he was able to represent Jamaica and be ready to play for the team just a few hours later. There’s also talk of Gus Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres and the continued impact of their loss on the team as well as the transition the club is in as well as the fans. Matty Godden got his first league goal of the season and club record signing Haji Wright got on the score sheet for the first time after coming on from the bench. Darragh Lenihan's stoppage-time own goal made it a miserable afternoon for the travelling fans. Michael Carrick's side are winless in their last seven Championship games - four of those coming against Coventry City. The Sky Blue Army travelled in their thousands (under ‘Welcome banners’) along the M69 to face Leicester City for their opening game of the new Championship Season. Coventry City hadn’t won away to their Midlands rivals since 2001 and the last time these two teams faced each other in the league was 2012. The anticipation of the return of this fixture was high amongst the travelling fans. On this episode (recorded Haji Wright style, in a bush!) Lorna Bailey is joined from the Fancast team by Anthony to look back on the match and the return to football. You’ll also hear from special guest, YouTuber Benjamin Bloom, as he gives his post-match thoughts. Also on this episode - the Manager Mark Robins and the Coventry City goal scorer Kyle McFadzean. For a while it had looked like last season's beaten Championship play-off finalists were on course for a deserved three points when they led through Kyle 's 47th-minute opener from a near-post corner but that was before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck two late goals and the relegated Foxes began their life back in the Championship with a win. Lorna and Anthony discuss what could have been with the missed chances as well as the performance of the new players including Bobby Thomas and new record signing Haji Wright. The Fancast will also look ahead to the midweek EFL Cup fixture on the road to Wimbledon and the opening Championship home game of the season against Middlesbrough on Saturday August 12th.

They were given top tips, like do not swear (Ryan we are looking at you!) and how to pace the commentary against the pace of the game. How did they get on? In this special episode you’ll find out that it really isn’t as easy as it sounds and that it’s really not easy when they lose! Under a cloudless sky, thousands of travelling Coventry City fans made the journey to Wembley to back their team on a quest to make it to the riches of the Premier League in the Championship Playoff Final. Saturday May 27th, and to the beat of Lynden's Drum, The Sky Blue army made a huge noise outside and inside of the National Stadium. But it wasn't to be as they endured the heartbreak and the nausea of the torment of defeat in a penalty shootout. In this week's Wembley episode of the Sky Blues Fancast, Lorna Bailey met up with fans in the shadow of the stadium to share their pain at the loss to Luton in a match with a fairy tale ending for the Hatters. A fairy tale ending which we'd thought was meant for us. Alex, Sam, Ashley and Argentinian fan, Lauti, got together to talk about the rollercoaster match that mirrored all the highs and lows of an incredible season. Lauti also gives us his thoughts on his time at Wembley and the warm welcome he's had by the Sky Blue Army. The noise from both fans was deafening but a silence fell over Wembley after just eight minutes when Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch before being taken to hospital. Luton dominated the first half, and were 1-0 ahead at half time in front of more than 87,000 fans after a poor first half from Mark Robins' team. A much improved second half saw Gustavo Hamer equalise, sending the Coventry sections of Wembley into delirium. With the teams level at the full time whistle it went to extra time. Then came a VAR decision with just minutes left on the clock - which meant a goal for Luton was disallowed for an infringement. Coventry fans celebrated again as it still wasn't off! The pain of a penalty shootout awaited. Could the Fancasters bear to watch as their team of heroes stood up to take the spot kicks in front of the Luton Fans. Advantage the Hatters. And after 11 successful penalties, the match was decided in the cruellest fashion by Fankaty Dabo's miss. On this week's episode there is the pain of that cruellest of defeats. You'll hear from manager Mark Robins, Captain Liam Kelly, and the fans. There is also the love and pride for the team and the remarkable journey they've been on, as well as positivity for the future. Once the tears subside there will be time to reflect on a remarkable revival that brought Mark Robins' team to within touching distance of a return to English football's top division after an absence of 22 years. Wow, that 1-0 victory up at the Riverside Stadium against Middlesbrough was special. The 12th man, the Sky Blue Army, up in North Yorkshire played their part and the centre of Coventry was up in arms. Coventry City football club! It’s been a rollercoaster ride, but one that could have a dream ending. The Sky Blues are just 90 minutes away from Premier League football - something they haven’t achieved for 22 years. Viktor Gyökeres was doing Gyökeres things and man of the moment, Gustavo Hamer, was on the score sheet again! Twisting and turning to fire City to victory. And well, Super Ben Wilson kept yet another clean sheet - so ‘Oioi we’re g’wan to Wembley’ Gaffer Mark Robins gave everyone a huge boost to ease the nerves before kick off, signing a new deal at the CBS Arena to keep him as Coventry manager until 2027. On this episode of the Sky Blues Fancast, we hear from a buzzing Mark Robins after the match, and Lorna Bailey is joined by fans; Ryan, Sam as well as Katie and Jodi-Leigh up in Middlesbrough, for the lowdown on the play-offs and what it means to see Coventry just one game away from Premier League football. While the skies were blue above the CBS Arena for the first leg of the Championship play-offs it was a nil-nil draw and the football on the pitch didn't match the atmosphere and anticipation amongst the Sky Blues fans before kick-off. It was a cagey and nervy 90 minutes between Coventry City and Middlesbrough. On this week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast, Lorna Bailey and fans Ryan, Sam, Jas and the Singers' Corner drummer, Lynden. Lynden and his drum catch the attention of Max Biamou and Lynden gets to meet the fan who organised the crowd-funder to get his season ticket paid for because of the love of the Sky Blue Army. Get the post-match thoughts of Martin Winch from the BBC CWR commentary team, hear from the manager Mark Robins and Brooke Norton-Cuffey talks about his dream to play at Wembley. The team take a moment to consider that might be the last time we see Viktor Gyökeres play at the CBS - although not everyone agrees that he will be going. Sky Blues fans know it's been a while since they played Premier League football after being relegated under Gordon Strachan in 2001. This is the closest that the team have come since their 34 year long stay ended. It's not over yet but there are nerves now amongst the Fancasters as they look ahead to Wednesday night at the Riverside. Will it go to penalties? Can we cope if it does? Will Ben Wilson take one? Coventry fans head north with positive memories of their only previous experience of the play-offs, in 2018, when Robins' men were held at home in the first leg by Notts County, but won the second leg 4-1. The travelling Sky Blue Army will be there with their voices loud. With either Sunderland or Luton waiting in the final, this tie could not be more in the balance when the two teams line up again on Teesside midweek. WHAT A DAY! What a Season. What a team. What a six years it's been... Sky Blues fans everywhere feeling ALL of the nerves and ALL of the joy as Coventry City make the play-offs finishing fifth in the Championship! Yes, you read it right and yes it happened! After all the chaos off the pitch through the season, Mark Robin's men got the point they needed away on the final day of the season to secure their place in a two leg battle against ‘Boro to make it to Wembley and the dream of promotion to the Premiership. Members of the Sky Blues Fancast got together to watch the match and ended up as full of nerves and wracked with stress as all the other fans, whether they were in Middlesborough as part of the 2,500 Sky Blue Army on the road, or gathered with friends or listening to BBC CWR's coverage on the radio or however else you followed the match! In the moments after the final whistle, Lorna Bailey got Sam, Ryan and Tash in front of some microphones to try to make words happen to bring you the latest episode of the Fancast! Throughout the previous pods you may have noticed a theme developing of the positivity of Fancaster Ryan, who has consistently insisted that we were always going to make the Play-Offs.... IT NEVER WAS OFF! But even though that's now true - it is still taking some time to get our heads around the fact that we are in the playoffs...we're in the playoffs! As the team were recording this episode news also came through that Ben Wilson had got the Golden Gloves and as ever there's plenty of love for city's goalkeeper. Next up for the Sky Blues it's Middlesborough (again) first at home and then away.... they are three games away from top flight football and they go into the play-offs in form. That draw extended their unbeaten run to seven games as they look to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2001. The Fancasters look ahead to the two legs and also dream a little of Wembley and even... the Premier League. If not now, when?!

What a day at the CBS Arena! A record high crowd for a league fixture watched the Sky Blues take the three points against Birmingham City to keep Coventry City's Play Off dream alive. If they beat Middlesbrough in their final game, then a top-six finish is theirs. This week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast was recorded straight after the match and the player's walkabout around the pitch. Lorna Bailey headed to the Jimmy Hill statue to meet up with Singer's Corner Drummer, Lynden and they were joined by Ryan, Dan, Tash and Sam to chat about the match, the atmosphere and what might be... they also do a bit of celebrity spotting with Tom Grennan and Jude Bellingham making some slightly tenuous appearances on the Sky Blues Fancast! The team chat about Cov Kid Josh Eccles finally getting his first senior goal from the edge of the box to put Coventry ahead 4 minutes in...and what was the discussion on the pitch about who should take that penalty? In the end it was Viktor Gyokeres who doubled the lead shortly before the break. No one wants to say it, but could that have been the last goal we see him score in Coventry? In this episode you'll hear the post-match thoughts of our very own Martin Winch, the manager, Mark Robins and Jake Bidwell. The Fancasters also take a look at who would get their Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards ahead of the club's actual awards night. It's a 20th clean sheet for the Sky Blue's defence and on 69 points in the table this is now the best Championship Campaign ever for the club and as 'Twist and Shout' got the whole CBS arena going, everyone agrees that the connection right now between players, club and fans is something very special. The Fancast talk about how that's come across post-match with the walk about after the final whistle. New owner, Doug King was really get into it! For a few hours, after a 0–3 win against Queens Park Rangers, Coventry City fans saw the club sitting in sixth place in the table (they were replaced later in the evening when Blackburn Rovers drew with Hull City), but that was enough to keep the dream of the play off places alive, which is all a bit much for the Fancasters – who are now just balls of anxiety. The Easter Break meant a bumper weekend of matches for Coventry City, but sadly not with bumper wins. A draw away at Swansea and a home draw against Watford mean the play offs still aren’t out of the question, just as a rainbow appeared over Jimmy Hill statue, could it be a sign? Lorna Bailey was joined by Fancasters Sam and Charlie beside the Jimmy Hill statue after the Watford game. Alongside the usual debrief and discussions about referee decisions, Gustavo Hamer is spotted running around post-match in sliders in the car park. Coventry City's nine-game unbeaten run is over. The April fool's day fixture against Stoke City at the CBS came with a large helping of 'reality check' on Legends Day in front of the biggest home crowd of the season. #PUSB   A crushing 4-0 defeat for Mark Robins' team after the international break means that Coventry City are now four points behind the top six.  With Lorna Bailey on this week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast is Anthony, the club's 'Her Game Too' representative Laura Hartley, Dan and Sam.  Here on the Fancast in recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about 'momentum' and 'daring to dream', but the fans' hopes of making the Championship play-offs for the first time since being relegated from the Premier League 22 years ago have been given a bit of a dent as Coventry City lost for the first time since 3rd February - in what was the biggest home loss in two and a half years.  The Fancast looks at the performance - well - they try to look at the performance but it's a tricky challenge for them this week! Here on the Sky Blues Fancast we have been saying for weeks now (maybe months...) that IT IS ON! The Sky Blues are three points outside the top six with eight games remaining, unbeaten in nine, five wins in the last eight games, and that push for the Championship play-offs has even got the manager saying that they are daring to dream.  This week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast looks back on the most immense 'Away Day' ever... for the nearly 4,000 members of the Sky Blue Army who went to Blackpool, for the day, for the night or for the whole weekend it's one that will be talked about for years to come. The noise was deafening, the atmosphere was buzzing and then there were some limbs as the four Coventry City goals went in. On this week's episode Lorna is joined by the very hungover, Katie, Ryan and Anthony to look back on an incident-packed match and the whole weekend. Ben Wilson is spotted out with fans, Katie gets locked in a portable toilet and Lyndon and his drum cause all the commentary teams a nightmare! On this week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast Lorna is joined by Sim and Conor to look back at the point against Hull City at the CBS. The team look at whether that is a dent in their play-off hopes as the draw sees Coventry drop one place to ninth in the table, four points outside the top six and also reflect on the atmosphere and fans at the match as well. Did someone say Flares? Despite creating plenty of chances and shots (25) the Sky Blues were unable to pick up a fifth win in six games. Matty Godden scored the equaliser to rescue a point, as Viktor Gyökeres, who had scored five in his previous five games, got the assist.  There's also a chance to hear from the Manager Mark Robins and one of the trio of Coventry kids, Josh Eccles, who's doing the city proud in the Sky Blues cathedral-inspired kit right now. There's something about hearing that Cov accent from our players. And with a musician amongst the Fancast this week (Conor is from the Coventry band The Mucks) it seems as though half of Coventry went on a big night out in Birmingham for the Tom Grennan gig. What a trip to Huddersfield it turned out to be for the Sky Blue Army - Viktor Gyokeres got a brace and took his tally for the season to 18 as Coventry City boosted their play-off bid with a 4-0 thumping win.  This week on the Sky Blues Fancast, Lorna is joined by Sam, Ryan and Joe to look back at the goals and the atmosphere at the John Smith's Stadium as well as the experience for fans following along on ifollow. It was a lunchtime kick off for the 'fake rivalry' derby as Sunderland visited the CBS Arena and their poor record in the city continued.  More than 21,000 fans watch Coventry City scored a goal in each half as they made it three wins on the bounce and on the Sky Blues Fancast we are calling it that the momentum is well and truly back!  On this week's episode Lorna is joined by Ryan, Dan and Tash to reflect on the match and look ahead to two away fixtures on the bounce in the next week.  One man's name is on everyone's lips right now and it's that Big Swede, Viktor Gyokeres who scored and assisted in his 100th appearance for the Sky Blues at the weekend. Momentum is back as the Sky Blues are now just four points off the play-off spots with Sunderland next. The Lawnmower is back!  This week on the Sky Blues Fancast it's Sim, Anthony and Jamie who join Lorna to look back on the point earned thanks to Matty Godden's equaliser from the penalty spot after Luton had scored inside the first minute! Under Blue Skies at the CBS Arena for Doug King's first home game officially in charge of the club, Coventry City let in 4 and were left stunned by the Canaries quick start.  The Sky Blues conceded three goals in the space of twelve first-half minutes and while it looked as though they might make a comeback with two quick goals themselves in response; in the end it became the second successive home game where Mark Robin's men have let in four. So, it's another FA Cup defeat at the hands of a non-league side for Coventry City.
