About Mark Kay
I was born in 1984 in Jagodina, a small town in central Serbia. Finished primary music school where I played accordion for 6 years. Thanks to my great teacher Dževad Mujkić, I learned to understand music well and won a few accordion competitions in Serbia. With basic music education, I continued to learn playing blues and jazz on my favorite instrument.  In high school, I started learning basics of music producing by creating simple techno tracks on a PC. As my knowledge continued to grow, I tried myself in harder electronic music genres such as trance, goa and euro-dance. During this time, I worked with couple of friends which helped me to understand why team work is so important. They also gave me first critics on my work which no doubt directed me through years to come. In 2003, I moved to Belgrade where I finished School of Electrical Engineering and specialized myself into IT industry. My music taste changed a bit. The love for electro jazz got me closer to house music which I still love and play. On the other side, my education on music matured so I wasn’t genre specific anymore and my tracks were basically electronica oriented. In 2008, I released my first single “Warm Up” for a french label “Original bass” which encouraged me to continue with house music until now. Not long after that came “Goes Around Never Comes Back” which was release under Creative Commons license (www.jamendo.com) where I showed my own look on house music. After that, the list of tracks continues to grow. As of early 2009, I play house in Belgrade night clubs along with some softer genres like funky, electro jazz and even lo-fi. I started producing electro house but I’m not planning to tie myself to any specific genre in future as the inspiration can’t be put in any rule or tied to a specific bpm. Working as a DJ, I learned to control my inspiration and to have it all the time. This allowed me to produce my own loops and to play them on gigs as well which introduced me into basics of live acting which I plan to research in near future.
