About Jayadev
Nearly 20 years ago, I was given a spiritual name by a Siddha Guru. I never used the name yet it stuck with me as strongly as my birth name. In my spiritual journeys since, I have come to identify the name as representing my true self. That is to say that it represents the self that I wish to be, untainted by earthly experience. Jayadev was a Sanskrit poet who, among other poems, wrote the epic Gita Govinda (The Love Song of the Dark Lord) It is a metaphorical tale of Shiva's departure from the Source to experience the pleasures of the Earth only to find in the end that all he really desires its to be reconnected with the Source. Like Shiva, I have developed a deep desire for that reconnection and I understand that I have some work to do here to get there. For me, becoming Jayadev in body, mind and spirit is part of that work and a liberating purpose, shedding the persona that experience has created.I have many concepts to share with you based in my ponderings and meditations but many of these concepts cannot be fully communicated through words as words are limited to our experience of physical reality. What I have realized is that I can wrap these concepts into music which is free to be interpreted by the listener and understood on an individual level without the limitations of language. I hope to one day become the artist and philosopher I wish to be and I would be honored if you would be a part of my journey.Namaste,Jeff Being Jayadev
