19th November is recognised in some parts of the world as International Men's Day. We are joined by Isaac David Kisembo, Raymond Bukenya and Denis Mugume to discuss what biblical masculinity looks like and how can we arrive at it in these days where masculinity itself is in question.  Isaac Kisembo is a Biblical Counsellor and very passionate about the Men's Ministry. Raymond Bukenya is a Team Leader at Tru-Tangazo a ministry that does evangelism and apologetics in Kampala.

JJ Smith once said self improvement is like a boiling kettle, it heats faster (keenly) unobserved.  And so is the Christian life,   The more attention we get off ourselves the more likely we are to grow, behold, and change.  Or like the author of Hebrews 12 implies, the more we fix our eyes on Jesus, the more we overcome what easily entangles.  No wonder many of our self-improvement projects fall flat, we set up the wrong goals and consequently live inferior lives. 

Distraction is the new duty, what used to reside inside a thousand minds is now a matter of public consumption.  The digital age is invading how we think of ourselves, God and the world around us.  As fragile identities lurk behind images, tweets and uploads, believers in Christ must ask bolder questions.  Who am I? What do my media habits reveal about my real loves, how is my use of time advancing the gospel? What deserves my utmost attention, what is leisure in an embattled world?  What about “redeeming the time?”

If  indeed wrong believing comes before wrong living, how we arrive at what we believe matters.  If indeed “rightly dividing  the word of truth” (2Tim 2:15) is central to our spiritual health. Then  how we do it is a matter of life, and death.  What is healthy Bible interpretation?

Ambition and the Christian seem like parallels, but are they really? Is there such a thing as godly ambition or does it compromise the Christian for them to be ambitious?
