Ep. 113 - I'm My Own Best Friend

 Here's my (unintentional) bi-annual check-in!Episode link here.What I've Finished:Jill finished the mosaic shawl Ephemeris by Debra Gerhard in Long Dog Yarn Bounce Sock First Blush and Teal Torch Knits Sock in Good Til the Last Drop.  Her Rav page here.  She made two Beloved bonnets by Tin Can Knits in Long Dog Yarn DK in the New Growth colorway.  Her Rav page here.  It took a long time to get around to completing Posy by Marzena Kolacek in Invictus Yarns Unconquerable Sole BFL in the NoKRs colorway.  A big thank you to Julie who sent Jill a skein of the yarn to finish the sleeves!  Her Rav page here.  She made a Hanging sloth planter by Hello Happy in Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Almond held double.  She had to make yet another child sized Garter Ear Flap Hat by Purl Soho to replace Starling's that was lost.  She used Leading Men Fiber Arts Box Office in Neon Pencil. Rav page here.  Jill was able to buy the skein from Kitty with a Cupcake when she couldn't find the colorway anywhere.  Jill made a Bukett shawl by Linnea Ornstein for her swap partner out of Malabrigo Arroyo Lavanda with Woolbearers Merino Minis in Teal held double for the contrast colors. Ep. 112 - Nothing Butthole Related

 Happy 2022!Skeinenable Ep 112 : Skein Enable Podcast : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet ArchiveWhat I've Finished:Jill has finished a number of things in the last few months.  For Halloween, she made a Barf John Candy costume for her daughter with knit fingerless driving gloves out of Knit Picks Essential Sock in Timber, embroidered name patch and needle-felted hairpiece.  Jill sewed a felt ornament using the Twelve Days of Christmas patterns by Larissa Holland of Mmmcrafts and Benzies wool blend felt.  She finished the #2 turtle dove ornament.  She also made a few more mittens for the Smitten Garland by Emily Ivey and decided that 12 mittens was enough for the garland.  Jill also made a couple hats for Starling including a fox hat from the Foxy & Wolfie hat by Ekaterina Filippova-Blanchard out of Cloudborn Fibers Superwash Merino DK (Rav page here) and Cellarium test knit by Rachel Illsley in Woolfolk SNO 01+02 (Rav page here).  She made two identical newborn Beloved bonnets by Tin Can Knits in Long Dog Yarns DK in New Growth for two new babies she knows.  Jill finished the test knit she did for Rabbit Hole Knits.  After months she's finished the Ephemeris mosaic shawl by Debra Gerhard out of Long Dog Yarn Bounce Sock in First Blush and Teal Torch Knits Sock in Good Til the Last Drop.  Her Rav page here.My Current Fix:Jill is finally finishing up the Posy cropped cardigan by Marzena Kolacek out of Invictus Yarns Unconquerable Sole BFL in the NoCKRs colorway.  She tried a couple crochet projects before Christmas and mostly abandoned them, the Hanging sloth planter by Hello Happy and Mr. Poopy Butthole by Ami Toys Handmade on Etsy.  She is planning on starting the Toddler Thrum Mitts by Steph Thomson.  What I'm Jonesing For:Jill has quite a few recent favorites.  There are some accessories like the Snow Fern hat by Kalurah Hudson, the cabled cowl Honey Pie by Claire Slade, the stashbuster shawl Stripes on Stripes by All Knit Up Designs and the headband Emerald Twist by Susanna Winter.  She tried to find the Knit Now Issue 133, Sept 2021 issue that had the A Peanuts Christmas kit/pattern by Sachiyo Ishii.  She likes the sophisticated short rows sweater BANE by Emily Greene and the intarsia sweater Amina Sweater by Slyvia Watts-Cherry.  There's a cute little kid dress, Cowgirl Dress, by Anna and Heidi Pickles.  She also likes the Winding flowers stockings by Marinka van Puijenbroek.Uppers, Downers and Misc.  I'm back! What I'm Jonesing For: Jill likes the Pupu scrunchie pattern by Sari Nordlund despite all her scrunchie hatred.  She likes the From Where You Were Plucked newborn hat by Corrie Willard.  She's been looking at baby mobiles, including Monster Mobile by Rebecca Danger, Hot Air Balloons Mobile by Doreen Blask and Hot Air Balloon Baby Mobile by Tatyana Korobkova.  She also likes the pullover Windkissed by Tif Neilan. Ep. 103 - Not Homesteading

Here's the latest episode!  How are you guys holding up? What I've Finished: Jill bound off and blocked her Herbarium shawl by Lisa Hannes for the #shawlstayhomekal.  Her Rav page here.  She used The Royal Bee Yarn Co. Fingering weight yarn in Nina says have your teal cake and eat it too! and Phillip says don't curry, be happy!  She had plenty of both yarns left over.  She also finished up her Combo Spin.  It was 9 oz of miscellaneous fibers in blues, reds and other colors!  She ended up with about 604 yards of a 3-ply DK weight yarn.  She also finished a Wee Envelope by Ysolda Teague out of handspun sport-ish weight from Malabrigo Nube merino braid in the Candombe colorway. My Current Fix: Jill is still working on the Dash Away Reindeer by Sara Elizabeth Kellner.  She's using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Briar Heather.  She's used some old Knit Picks Telemark for the antlers.  She had to redo one back leg after knitting it upside down.  Jill started a new spinning project.  She's working her way through a 4.6oz Mork Made fiber batt in white, black and bright accents. What I'm Jonesing For: Jill is into the Sand and Sunsets cardigan/coverup by Rachel Illsley.  She likes the Breathe and Hope shawl by Casapinka, designed for LYS Day.  Jill likes the free colorwork sock pattern, Trailing Daisy by Tiina Kuu.  She purchased the Hope Headband by Jennifer Berg because it's cute, but also because the purchase supported the Navajo Nation Covid Relief Fund.  Jill likes the In Honor of Her shawl pattern by Mara Licole.  Mara also has a non-brioche version of the same shawl called In Honor of Her Too.  Jill also is interested in a couple baby patterns.  One is the Winter Duo Baby Bloomers & Romper pattern by Sandra Magalhaes that's for sale on Etsy.  She also likes the child poncho Schatzi by Caarin. What I've Finished: Jill wrapped up her Complicated-along project, the Butterly/Papillon shawl by Marin Melchior out of Uneek Fingering colorway 3007 and Knit Picks Palette in Mist.  Her Rav page here.  She also finished sewing her My Cousin Vinny Halloween costume out of navy floral stretch fabric from Michael Levine's.  She used Simplicity 1036 as a base for the jumpsuit and modified the collar, back and made it one-piece instead of separates. The First-In-First-Out Craftalong has begun! What I've Finished: Jill sewed some reuseable cotton pads to use for skin toner.  She used grey cotton flannel for hers.  A similar tutorial can be found here or here. Ep. 91 - Mathin' Really Good

Annie is back for Ep. 91! What We've Finished: Annie finished her Breeze Racerback tank by Jessie Mae Martinson out of Earl Grey Fiber Co Gunpowder.  She is also almost done with the crocheted coverup Davallia by Isa Catepillan out of Twist Yarns of Intrigue Alpaca/Linen yarn in a grey taupe color.  Her Rav page is here.  She substituted a macramé border with added beads for the trim. Jill finished up her pom pom animal of Olivia using Knit Picks Palette and instructions from the Trikotri book she bought in Tokyo. Our Current Fix: Annie is working on the Ripple Bralette also by Jessie Mae Martinson using Deep Hue Sea yarn. Jill is still working on Panjereh by Christina Danaee out of Plucky Knitter Solo in the Under the Sea colorway and Malabrigo Mechita in Frank Ochre.  She's also making progress on Baby's Kaftan by Debbie Bliss using Rowan Cotton Glace in 815.  She's prepping for Tour de Fleece using two braids of Goodie Supply Co.  One is 100% Shetland in the Get Off My Rainbow and the other is 72% Shetland, 14% Pearl and 14% Silk in Naked/undyed. What We're Jonesing For: Annie wants to make Light Rain by Joji Locatelli from Interpretations Vol. 3.  She'll using Fiber & Hue Well Rounded Fingering in Spiced Chai. Jill has favorited a few shawls: Banrion by Playing With Fibre from the most recent Knitty, Play It By Queer by Shanel Wu, and Berry Crumble Shawl by Xandy Peters.  She likes a couple that would be a good use of some handspun including the Comfort Zone Tank by Tif Neilan and Winston by La Maison Rililie.  She really wants to make Panda by Susan B. Anderson.  Jill and Annie both love Black Sheep, White Sheep and Oliver Pig by Susan B. Anderson. Ep. 90 - Nope

Start or continue your Complicated-along projects! What I've Finished: Jill finished knitting Annex by Norah Gaughan out of Hemp for Knitting AllHemp6 in Aubergine.  She still hasn't blocked it yet.  She plied up the Bee Mice Elf BFL braid in Finale.  She had to ply it a second time to add ply twist.  She also went back and added more ply twist to the Capistrano Fiber Arts braid she finished a couple months ago. My Current Fix: Jill is still working on Fox Paws by Xandy Peters out of Knit Picks Palette in Edamame, Clarity, Seafaring, Grey Mist and Huckleberry.  Her Rav page here.  This is her Complicated-along project.  She's also started Panjereh by Christina Danaee in The Plucky Knitter Solo in Under the Sea as the main color and Malabrigo Mechita in Frank Ochre.  She also started the Baby's Kaftan by Debbie Bliss using Rowan Handknit Cotton in #349. Ep. 89 - Like an Adult

The Complicated-a-long is starting! WIPs are fine and any craft is fine!  Just start chatting in the Ravelry group. What I've Finished:  Jill made a Milo by Georgie Nicolson in Knit Picks Felici Worsted in the Rustic colorway.  She used the 6month numbers and the 9 month length.  Her Rav page here.
