Improving the Way You Think About Disagreements
This series is designed to discuss the importance of learning how to disagree. Christians tend to have one answer for everything (right or wrong, saved or lost, in some cases Republican or Democrat). Jesus and the Apostles modeled the ability to reach beyond their opinions to win people to their Christ. We have often migrated to a new Great Commission that makes our opinion, political view, favorite candidate, or cultural perspective the gospel. Jesus never approached reaching people this way. He visited the sinners, and the saints.

The Unstoppable Seed of God
Though few may have seen the connection between the parable of the mustard seed and the plan of God, as He sent Jesus to the womb of Mary, there is indeed a powerful one.
In this parable, Jesus wanted it to be known that though the kingdom of God’s beginnings on earth was so small as to be barely noticed and nearly insignificant, it grows over time and will eventually cover the whole world.
This is the story of Jesus, the son of God from His conception in the womb of a young virgin from the humble village of Nazareth.
The people of His day did not really grasp what God was up to in the world, but it is quite certain that He was up to something really big.
To unfold this mystery, Jesus shared a parable to give us a clue on how the kingdom of God begins in insignificance and will one day achieve worldwide dominance.

Be Confident, Part I
Are you a confident person that truly believes in your life’s direction and God’s commitment to bless you (John 10:10)? The challenge we face in this season is a plague of confidence blended with naïve optimism. It is important to recognize when you are being naively optimistic. In James, they thought that because they had faith their works did not matter.
A confident person faces unexpected challenges and can lose hope, if not careful. Hopelessness overtime can produce a toxic, sick-like, feeling that can shift our view of the world (Proverbs 13:12…Hope deferred make the heart sick). Balanced confidence that is rooted in truth and maturity can protect us from falling victim to naïve optimism.

The New Wine of Prosperity (Part 3)
Once upon a time, in my life, I struggled with prosperity. I named these feelings “prosperity guilt.” Preaching and prospering seemed to be in many people’s mind a contradiction. In response to this I found ways to give away my advantage. It took me years to settle in and embrace my own success differently. The Bible is right, there should be no condemnation to those who are in Christ. The Bible promises in Proverbs that diligence would lead to blessings.
The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;
But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. (The New King James)
I was diligent but emotionally unprepared for the advantages and opportunities prosperity would bring into my life. This sermon is about the importance of becoming comfortable with the decision to be diligent and prosperous. In order to excel in life we must be intentional.
Four Questions to Think About
1. What are your intentional plans to improve your financial life?
2. Have you ever felt uncomfortable because of your success?
3. What standards have you lowered to get along with those around you who have less ambition?
4. Do you still have a cartoonish view of building wealth? Are you standing in a field declaring you will grow apples with no seeds in your hands like a cartoon character with magical powers?

Which party or candidate best represents God’s perfect will?
Should I vote for the one that is the closest to my values?
Note: Important Foundational Understanding
The problem is that too many people are looking for salvation by government.” They are putting their hope in the political realm. But God warns us that when we put our confidence in kings bad things can happen (see 1 Samuel 8:9–18). There is no such thing as salvation by the government (see Judges 8:22–23).

How To Cut A New Path In Your Life (Be Clear About Work)
People often go to the grocery store of dreams and put dreams in their buggy. The problem is they don’t want to pay or don’t have the ability to pay when they reach the register.
Five Questions About Work
1. Do you know how to work? (What is your work strategy?)
2. Who taught you how to work? (Mainly parents)
3. Have you ever taken a class on how to work?
4. Have you ever been corrected at work and shown a better way to work?
5. Are you working for what you want? Would your priorities agree?

Questions You Should Ask Me About Relationships
1. What story can your friends tell about you? (Your friends tell your story?)
2. What have your friends contributed to your life? (What is your return on investment, ROI?)
3. What have your friends stopped you from doing with your family (Did they isolate you?)
4. Are you equally yoked with the right kind of friends (Do your friends link with your purpose?)

Dealing with Relationship Issues (What Happened to My Family?)
Adam and Eve’s children were products of their family environment and their children’s personal decisions. If you want to change your family then you must change the way your family thinks and change what you teach them.
1. What did you teach your children?
2. What did you show your children?
3. What did you pass to your children?
4. What can’t you get your children to see?

What Families Teach Us
The majority of what a person learns happens within the family. Our experiences such as how we are treated, what we see and what we hear, can shape our definitions and life choices. We tend to carry these lessons from childhood to our adult years. What items life lessons did your family put in your life’s backpack?

What Storms Teach Us
Storms teach us how unprepared and exposed we are up close. Have you been guilty of these mistakes?
• Not deciding in advance

• Not saving in advance
• Not taking responsibility for your life in advance (some people can’t help you)

Deciding to Deal With My Real Issues, Part 1 (Managing My Intimate Issues)
Big Question: What kind of decisions are you making in your intimate life?
Big Thought: Has the effort to live pure created an unhealthy, shaming, female bashing, male judging culture. The desire to have intimate guard rails is taught in Scripture. However, we should avoid developing a culture of shaming those who struggle managing the intimate side of their life. We should have more than one “don’t fornicate or commit adultery message.” Most young people have never heard their pastor say anything positive about sexual intimacy.
Important Warning: Physical intimacy is a powerful tool God has given us that reaches into our future, finances and foundation of our lives. It can single handily change all of your options, but if used properly, can bring great joy to your life.

Deciding To Fight
If God is fighting with you, why are you losing? Gideon started with 30,000 soldiers to fight the Midianites and ended up with 300. He won with just 1% of the people who started with him. Courageous Faith and Obedience
At the beginning of this year, we were encouraged to begin our journey with courageous conversations. And, as it comes to a close, we must put “walk to our talk” by exercising courageous faith and obedience.
Through the text, the Lord allows us to learn two shocking lessons in the lives of the disciples that drive home our profound obligation to respond. One is a lesson in forgiveness, as Jesus set a high bar for them to jump over. The other is a healing encounter the Lord used as a master class on how to follow a command simply because He gave it.

Pushed To Go Too Fast
The need to know our speed applies to many areas of life. We humans always want to know how far, how fast, how big, and how much; especially compared to the other guy. There are two times in which going too fast can be dangerous: •When there is an urgent challenge •When there is a desperate need
