All on Human Trafficking & International Criminal Law featuring Nataraj Muneesamy, ADPP

🌍 The global reality of human trafficking is both sobering and terrifying.Did you know:❗ Over 27 million people worldwide are victims of human trafficking, according to the latest UN estimates❗ 75% of victims are women and girls, with nearly 25% being children❗ Human trafficking generates an estimated $150 billion annually in illegal profits, making it one of the most lucrative and pervasive forms of organised crime. In Mauritius, the ODPP MAURITIUS (Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions) has recognised the urgency of this issue, establishing a dedicated taskforce to combat human trafficking at the national level. This week, we’re honoured to have Nataraj Muneesamy, Assistant DPP and Chair of the taskforce, as our podcast guest. All Things Branding featuring Laurent Bourelly, Marketing expert

Tout sur la Violence envers les enfants et les femmes featuring Melanie Vigier de Latour Bérenger

*Please share to support and raise awareness*Any form of violence, whether it be physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, or mental, is unacceptable.  Did you know that, according to a recent study (2022), 1 in 3 Mauritians believes that a woman should obey her husband, and 1 in 5 Mauritians thinks that a woman must ask her husband for permission before going out?Shocking, but true. Let’s be very clear: this reality affects all social strata and all communities.  I am so grateful to Melanie Vigier de Latour-Berenger, a psychosociologist, for sharing her expertise with us to enlighten us on such an important, and yet still so taboo, topic.  As deplorable and insidious as physical violence, are more "invisible" and subtle forms of violence such as coercive control (typically among couples) : control over outings, phone privacy, who they can talk to or confide in, making jealous accusations, gaslighting, criticisms or humiliations over appearance or character traits. We also discuss the violence that modern technologies can inflict on a child (if they are misused or misunderstood).I would be willing to bet that you know at least one person who might be a victim of one of these forms of abuse.  As Melanie says so well at the end of the episode: sometimes you should overstep the line and speak up.  Comme Melanie le dit si bien en fin d’épisode : sometimes you should overstep the line and speak up.00:00 - Intro00:52 - Sociopsychologue01:59 - Progrès dans les lois03:37 - Violence envers les femmes05:01 - Violence et COVID06:38 - La banalisation de la violence07:42 - Violence psychologique11:01 - Identification les different types de violence12:30 - C’est quoi une violence sexuelle ?15:24 - Violence physique sur un enfant17:57 - Qui doit parler aux parents20:38 - Violence en entreprise21:55 - Causes de violence24:00 - Technologie et violence sexuelle envers les enfants27:45 - Téléphones et risques pour les enfants31:40 - A quel âge parler de la sexualité aux enfants ?34:31 - Ressources pour l’éducation de l’enfant36:25 - Intégration dans le curriculum scolaire et volonté politique37:43 - Attachement d’un enfant42:46 - Investir dans la qualité des relations44:59 - On peut aussi parler du négatif46:36 - Se connecter l’un à l’autre47:43 - Subir une violence et la honte
