In this episode Claire & Rebecca chat to Steven O’ Riordan who co-authored the book “Whispering Hope” about women who survived the Magdalene Laundries. Raised to advocate for those who needed his help, Steven got involved with meeting survivors of Magdalene Laundries, helping them to access the redress scheme, and took it upon himself to help to tell the stories that these women had kept quiet for far too long. Steven’s book Whispering Hope tells the accounts of five women who survived the Magdalene Laundries. His documentary The Forgotten Maggies is available on YouTube.
