About Slain
"Slain, the newest prodigies on the rock scene" - Rolling Stone Magazine (Mumbai)"The talk of the town, Slain has taken Bangalore by storm" - RSJ Magazine (Allahabad) "Mastery in hard rock/metal" - Chennai Express (Chennai) "The next best thing nationally...Slay on!" - Score Magazine (Chennai) "Before Beyond (9/10)- Everything sounds just perfect on this EP of Slain." - Strutter'zine (Holland) "Before Beyond (8/10)- Slain are on their way to step into the limelight." - Ice Vajal (Germany) From early 2007, an innovative refreshing sound has seen SLAIN become one of the most sought-after live acts within India, now reputed as the country's finest in Melodic Progressive Rock/Metal. Initially having bagged the winners gold at countless nation-wide competitions, most notably October Fest 07, NLS Strawberry fields '07, CBIT Carpe Diem 08, IITC Saarang 08 & IITM Livewire 08- the band gained sudden popularity and media attention for their energy and consistency. Within the next 3 years Slain had headlined dozens of college festivals in South India, and performed at major events such as Rock ‘n India 09, Bangalore Habba 07, Rock Ethos ‘08 & '09 etc, eventually performing alongside international sensations Iron Maiden and Mr. Big on their tours of India. With over a hundred concerts across the country to their credit, the band continues to tour extensively, building a massive loyal fanbase. After releasing the 4-track ‘Slain EP’ in 2008,and their second EP ‘Before Beyond’ in 2009, both met with stellar reviews from fans and web'zines across the world, the band hit the studios again to record their monster debut album ‘Here and Beyond’, aiming a release mid- 2010.Slain has been featured in the acclaimed Indian Music magazines Rolling Stone, Score(Chennai), RSJ (Rock street journal), and also in countless mainstream newspapers, with articles spotlighting this emerging talent. They were invited for interviews and in-studio performances aired on television by News9 and on radio by Radio Indigo(Bangalore). By popular demand, one of the tracks from the Slain EP, ‘Angel in the Sky’ was sent as part of a compilation to Radio Metal (France), as a representation of the Indian Metal scene.Having found the perfect blend of melody and aggression, the finesse of Classic rock, with the raw energy and technicality of Power Metal- Slain's sound is often compared to the likes of Whitesnake, TNT, Symphony X, Queensryche, Journey, and Angra, but standing out individually from their influences with a sound that identifies them as fresh and original, yet classic, grand and memorable in every sense. Slain's success in the industry is a mere reflection of the band's outstanding performance in the studio and live onstage- delivering exhilerating performances to both cozy gatherings of a hundred, as well as frenzied masses of 10,000! Energetic beautiful music. One step at a time, Slain is painting the future of Indian Rock on the world map!
