We're All In The Group Chat

Hey pals,  Maggie is back from India and we’re behind the mics once again.  We kick off with a debrief of Mags’ incredible trip and discuss Travis Kelce’s digital footprint. Next, a report has revealed that the world's richest 1% emit as much carbon as the poorest 66%. This news was released in the same week as a young Taylor Swift fan tragically passed away at the Eras concert in Rio DeJaneiro due to the unseasonable heat and negligence of the venue.  TikTok comedian, Matt Rife, has turned on his majority female audience this week after opening up his Netflix special, Natural Selection with a domestic violence “joke”.  We discuss why he’d turn on the people who made him, the genre of ‘cancelled comedians’, and why women fans are the best fans to have. We reference this article by Jared Richards for the ABC, titled, The Rise and Immediate, Potentially Strategic Downfall of Matt Rife  Two friends have gone mega-viral on TikTok after airing both sides of a friendship fallout on the app.  Former best friends Kelly Kim and Joanna Lee both took to the app to set the record straight on the actions and ghosting that occurred after Joanna was accused of flirting with Kelly’s boyfriend.  We chat about the virality of this drama, why we love to dissect things when we have no skin in the game, and if actual drama is the new reality TV. A Wasted PR Opportunity

Hello hello, friends! Welcome back. We start off with a bunch of chit chat topics; Selena Gomez admits she’s been offline for four years, Bennifer is re-engaged, Ash Barty is a children’s author and Kourtney and Travis are married by Elvis. Just another week in pop culture land. Next, we discuss Kylie’s appearance on the black carpet at the premiere of 'The Kardashians' TV show. While originally very open and vulnerable about postpartum life after giving birth to her son in February, the billionaire reportedly arrived late to the premiere and wouldn’t get snapped by Getty photographers who have to disclose whether an image has been edited. This was all according to TiKTok user Sophie, AKA @residualdata.  Interestingly, this video appears to have been taken off TikTok. Did Kylie’s team jump on the rumour? We have two recommendations each for you this week. Jas recommends the book 'Modern Love The Lives of John and Sunday Reed' by Kendrah Morgan and Lesley Harding as well as the 'You’re In Good Company' finance podcast. Mags recommends the article 'Happy As Laurie' by David Marchese from The Age and 'Bridgerton' season two on Netflix.Katie Zhou created our cover art & India Raine is our wonderful producer and composer of our jingle.
