About Lazer Lloyd
Lazer Lloyd, Israel's King of Blues Rock, is influenced by blues, gospel, southern rock, and the great guitar traditions of power and groove from Hendrix to Wes Montgomery. Growing up in Connecticut his musical skills were honed in the rock music clubs of the eastern seaboard and later at Skidmore College under Milt Hinton, Randy Brecker, and Gene Bertoncini. In 1994, Lloyd had just been recruited to record for Atlantic Records when he played a gig in New York City with the legendary singing Rabbi, Shlomo Carlebach, and the young musician decided to take his life and music to Israel. Lazer became a trailblazer as he wrote and performed his own songs mixed with the classics and built an audience in a country where blues and blues rock were an exotic delight. The Jerusalem Post says, "He’s the best guitarist in Israel.” Blues Blast Magazine wrote, “His guitar playing alone is worth the price of admission and when you add in his vocals and strong songwriting skills, this is a winner.” The Nashville Blues Society opined, “Lloyd’s guitar skills are impeccable, along with a rich, vocal delivery that unleashes the power of his songs. A consummate musician, writer and storyteller.”
