About Denébola
Denébola is formed during the winter of 2009 in Santiago of Chile by the soprano Yenia Saa (ex Enochian Angelus) and Patricio Pinto, Amora Morte keyboardist at that time. They would name the band Acromántica and their idea was to mainly combine rock, electronic elements and the emotive classical singing. Simón Vanderk (Blood of Cain) on guitars and Alex Medina (ex Amora Morte) on bass join them not long afterwards. The quartet debut would be at Gothland at Club Miel, organized by Electroshock in December that year. After Yenia and Simón leave the band in early 2010, Kerstin Schuster and Cristián Pacheco take charge of the vocals and guitars respectively. This is when the band decides to move on under the name of Denébola, the second brightest star of the constellation of Leo. In 2011, Víctor Carreño would join them to replace Cristian.Raising habitual but profound topics like anguish or the search for love, arid and abysmal images entwine in the lyrics to reflect the diverse human circumstances and conditions. "Ángel sin Cielo" ("Angel without a Heaven") talks about an abused child's feelings; "Profana mi Pecho" ("Profane my Chest") narrates how someone who's suffering begs their love to help them redeem themselves; "Deserta" ("desert" in Latin) describes both inner and outer deserts we rarely dare to contemplate in our lives; and "At Sea", adapted from the poem by Aliester Crowley, sinks into the esoteric depths of ritualistic magic love.     Currently Denébola have just finished recording their first EP, "Craving", looking forward to promoting it during the coming months.
