Those were the words of the Secret Service Spokesman alongside Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw during the Sunday afternoon press conference in which we learned that for the second time in nearly as many months there was an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life.

We won’t know if what they’ve done is better until we get there. In the meantime, what we do know is that as of this moment Trump is running much better in these polls than he did four years ago in his loss to Biden and ever-so-slightly better than he was when he beat Clinton in 2016.
