Guest Bio: Jamaica Murphy also owns a thriving psychotherapy private practice, Reviviscence Clinical Services; her emphasis is on providing treatment for clients experiencing trauma, loss, grief, and stress. She has an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) score of nine; however, she has overcome adverse life experiences and has learned to flourish. Jamaica has been a practicing clinician since 2010, providing individual, family, and group therapy; she has experience working in community mental health agencies, psychiatric hospitals, and school settings. Jamaica's practice is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment to promote transformational change. She offers non-judgmental guidance and support to assist clients with reaching their goals. The work she does with clients is intentional, aimed at empowering clients to be their best. Jamaica hopes to help clients develop resilience so they can move forward. Currently, Jamaica is a Ph.D. student at Harvard Graduate School of Education studying how adversity impacts brain development and skills acquisition.
