His expert knowledge in animal science and agriculture, vertebrate pest management, wildlife management and sustainable land use has been recognised nationally and internationally. He is Australia’s foremost expert on fallow deer, deer farming, and the biology of all of the species of deer in the wild or being farmed in Australia. E/Prof Mulley is a former member of the NSW Animal Research Review Panel, was the Chair of the NSW Kangaroo Management Advisory Panel for many years, and a former member of the NSW Biosecurity Advisory Committee. E/Prof Mulley has also recently held positions on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Zoo Biology, the Victorian Hunting Advisory Committee, was the Chair of the NSW Board of Studies Primary Industries Examination Committee for many years, and has also represented on the Australian Wildlife Health Network Management Committee. 26. Is it wrong to scout on public land, which could impact another hunter and do you train to hunt?

In this episode, Matt and Dodge recap on some new information that has been shared by listeners regarding the National Feral Deer Action Plan and the poisons they are considering using, which includes 1080. They detail the issues with 1080 sighting documents from government organisations that explain how 1080 is not as safe as is promoted. Dodge discusses how the plant that 1080 is derived from exists in Western Australia and how native animals from the eastern region of Australia do not have an immunity as promoted, which is provided by the WA government document. Matt talks about how human consumption of poisoned venison is an issue and that the New Zealand Food Safety Authority states that humans should not take wild or game estate animals from an area where 1080 has been laid until either four months has passed since the baiting operation has ended or two months after the operation has ended if there has been over 100mm of rain. 23. From Tragedy to Triumph! This is Ben's story.
