▬ About the Nucleus Link sample roaster ▬▬▬
The Nucleus Link is a highly accurate convection roaster. It has been specifically designed as a sample roaster - in particular, it allows the same roast to be produced regardless of external conditions. This makes it perfect for communication between coffee growers, traders and roasters, and as a sample roaster for farm visits.
The unit comes in a shockproof box and with accessories to determine the density of the beans. It also comes with an app that selects the appropriate settings for the machine based on the altitude, type and density of the beans.
Thanks to its ease of use, the machine is also suitable for ambitious and quality-conscious home roasters.

▬ About the Aillio Bullet Roaster ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Bullet R1 V2 is a state-of-the-art, powerful yet compact 1kg capacity coffee roaster.
Unlike conventional electric roasters, the Bullet R1 V2 uses the principle of induction to heat the drum directly. The induction heating allows very fast and precise adjustments in the heating power as well as an efficient heat transfer for a fast and energy-efficient roasting of up to 1kg of coffee.
Another innovation is the infrared sensor with which the Bullet R1 V2 measures the bean temperature without contact. This fast and precise roasting supports the development and execution of very accurate roasting profiles or roasts.
With the Bullet, the heat transfer as well as the airflow and the drum speed can be easily and finely adjusted.
The roaster can be operated with Artisan as well as with the very user-friendly RoasTime software specifically developed by Aillio and allows easy exchange of roasting profiles with other users.

Connie Blumhardt is the publisher and founder of the Roast Magazine and Daily Coffee News. Together with her team, she has published several of the most important books on roasting like the «Book of Roast» or «Green Coffee». In addition to that, they organise the annual Roaster Summits.
Few people have witnessed and helped shape the development of specialty coffee as closely as Connie. Through her publications, she has made in-depth knowledge of coffee roasting available to a broad public. In doing so, she has helped thousands of coffee roasters get started, while at the same time contributing to a significant overall improvement in the quality of roasted coffee over the past several years.
In this interview, she tells us, among other things, how she started publications such as Roast Magazine and the Book of Roast. But we also talk about what the coffee world looked like 20 years ago and how coffee roasting and coffee culture has changed since then.

Degassing of coffee, ultimate freshness and how to store coffee | interview with André Eiermann
How long does coffee need to degas / rest after roasting? How long do I have to wait after the roasting of coffee? When does coffee taste the best and how what is ultimate freshness in coffee? In this interview, André Eiermann is answering those and many more questions. In fact it's already 2 years, since I've recorded the video with André but I just found out, I never uploaded it on this podcast. The information content is still fully up to date.
André has been the first person to live roast coffee on the stage and directly serve it to the judges at the world barista championships in 2017. From this experience as well as his long carreer in coffee, he has a profound knowledge on coffee freshness, coffee extraction, coffee storage and much more.

How to chose and roast the best green coffee beans | interview with Chris Kornman
Nothing influences the taste and quality of your coffee more than the green coffee beans you choose. But which factor in the green coffee has the greatest influence on the flavour profile? What do roasters need to pay the most attention to in order to find the right bean? How do processing, density, scree size and moisture content affect flavour, and is there a different approach to roasting beans appropriately? What equipment do green coffee buyers need and what is the best way to store beans?
Chris Kornman - one of the most experienced specialists in coffee sourcing and quality - answers these and many more questions in this interview, which I highly recommend to anyone who works with green coffee beans (in fact, anyone who works with coffee).
Moreover, his book is a must-read. It is at the same time very profound in its information content, but also easy to understand and beautifully designed:

Why does the Brazen brewer heat the water in a container directly atop the coffee grounds? What are the advantages of a flat-bottom filter? How long do I have to leave the coffee to pre-soak? And how can I achieve an even extraction in a coffee maker?
Joe Behm, the inventor of the BEHMOR coffee roaster and the BEHMOR Brazen coffee machine visited us to answer these and many other questions about the Brazen coffee machine.
