Welcome back to TUDOR WEEK! In this episode, originally from 2018, we dive into the final years of the one and only, Anne Boleyn. Anne Boleyn was a prominent figure in English history, known for her marriage to King Henry VIII but if given the chance we believe she could have been so, so much more.
As Queen, Anne was a key figure in the English Reformation and was instrumental in the establishment of the Church of England. However, her time as Queen was tumultuous, and she faced many political enemies. She was accused of adultery and treason, and after a highly controversial trial, she was executed in 1536.
Despite her short reign and tragic end, Anne remains a fascinating and controversial figure in English history. She continues to inspire novels, films, and television shows, and her legacy lives on to this day.
In this episode we go over:
Anne's relationship with her step daughter, the future Mary I of England.
The future Elizabeth I hits the scene.
#PoorbabyMark (Mark Smeaton, the court musician)
Did Catherine of Aragon's ghost curse Anne and Henry?
The scandalous end to Queen Anne Boleyn.
