Often, in a particularly cruel twist, he would release his ensnared victims just to chase them through the woods with a rifle, savoring the hunt and inflicting maximum psychological torment. Join our family of little freaks and gain access to exclusive content by visiting Patreon.com/psychopediapod In this episode, we are joined by special guest, comic and podcaster, Joanne McNally. In an unsettling defiance of nature, the young perpetrators behind the horrific death of 14-year-old Ana Kriegel in Ireland in 2018 committed a crime so brutal that it pierced through society's veneer of trust and altered perceptions of youth and innocence. Ana's killers, referred to as Boy A and Boy B, were just 13 years old at the time of the offense, making them the youngest convicted killers in the Republic of Ireland. Their trial exposed the brutal and premeditated nature of their atrocious crime, revealing deep-seated issues surrounding youth violence and the mental health of young offenders. The case garnered intense media scrutiny, leaving the world grappling with a torrent of heartbreaking questions and few, if any, answers. @joannemcnally @mtgmpod Instagram + Threads: @psychopediapod @tank.sinatra @investigatorslater Patreon: www.patreon.com/psychopediapod Email: [email protected] Website: www.psychopediapodcast.com To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod Driven by a twisted need to possess her married lover, Koshizô Ishida forever, a woman named Sada Abe strangled him, castrated him, and carried his severed genitals in her kimono—ensuring, in her mind, that he would remain hers for all eternity. Amidst the modern neon glow and ancient temples of 1936 Tokyo, Sada's life was sadly shaped by trauma, longing, repression, and erotic obsession.  After training as a low-level geisha and meeting Koshizô, Sada became deeply infatuated, and their scandalous relationship blurred the lines between love and obsession until it spiraled into a dangerous fixation - one that drove Sada to committ a horrific act of violence in an effort to possess him forever. EP88: Prenatal Predator

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod At 3:26 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2004, Becky Harper made a gruesome discovery that no parent should ever have to see: her 23-year-old daughter, Bobbi Jo Stinnett, lying dead in a pool of blood on the floor of her Missouri home. The scene was a vision of gruesome chaos, and Becky struggled to comprehend the horror before her. As she continued to absorb all the horrific details, her breath caught in her throat as she realized that Bobbi Jo’s abdomen had been violently ripped open. And, heartbreakingly, the baby she had been carrying for nearly eight months was gone. All that remained was a severed umbilical cord. This is the devastating case of the brutal murder of Bobbi Jo Stinnett and the shocking abduction of her unborn daughter, Victoria Jo. It is also the chilling story of Lisa Montgomery, the deeply disturbed perpetrator who became the first woman to be executed by the federal government since 1953. EP87: Till R*pe Do Us Part

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod Imagine, after fifty years of navigating life’s trials hand in hand with your husband, the very fabric of your marriage disintegrates in a single instant. For Gisèle Pelicot, this devastating reality unfolded when she received a phone call from the police, as their words unraveled a nightmare too monstrous to comprehend: her husband Dominique, the person she trusted above all, had been systematically drugging her for nearly a decade and inviting strangers into their home to sexually assault her on camera. Disturbingly, he often participated eagerly in the horrific abuse as well. This recent story has profoundly and understandably gripped all of France and captured international headlines around the globe with its shocking, graphic, and truly heartbreaking details. EP86: Killing Is My Kink

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod In September 2013, three friends chatting on a bridge over the Vartry Reservoir near Dublin noticed a series of disturbing items floating in the water: handcuffs, shackles, rope, a woman’s top, leg restraints, and a leather face mask with a gag ball. Additionally, among the recovered items were also two cell phones containing extremely graphic text messages between individuals labeled "Master" and "Slave." Then, the following day, a dog walker stumbled upon decomposed human remains in a wooded area near the reservoir. Tragically, the connection between these macabre discoveries unraveled a nightmarish tale of BDSM and murder, and revealed the absolutely devastating descent of Elaine O'Hara, an innocent and vulnerable woman who fell prey to the horrifically twisted fantasies of a depraved killer. TRIGGER WARNING: This case contains extremely disturbing content and includes difficult discussions of sexual assault, self-harm, and suicide. Please listen with caution. EP85: The Man in the Red Bandana

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod In the face of death, most would run—it’s human nature to flee from danger, to protect oneself, to cling to life. But on September 11, 2001, as chaos engulfed the South Tower of the World Trade Center, Welles Remy Crowther defied that instinct. Amid the smoke and fire, with the ground shaking beneath him and flames licking at his skin, he chose not to run. Instead, he repeatedly charged back into the inferno, not for himself, but to save others. Driven by something far stronger than fear, he guided the lost, comforted the wounded, and led the terrified to safety. He knew the risks—each step could be his last—but his deep sense of duty and compassion never wavered. In those moments of unimaginable terror, he saved 18 lives. This man, who faced death without flinching, who stood as a beacon of courage and selflessness in the darkest of times, was The Man in the Red Bandana. EP84: A Father's Revenge

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod The torment of a parent discovering that their child has been murdered is a searing, primal agony that defies articulation—a force that blends heartache, fury, and helplessness, leaving a deep, forever open wound on the soul. While such horror is unimaginable and "next steps" seem unconceivable, André Bamberski's immediate response to his daughter's murder was extraordinary: he transformed his heartbreak into a relentless, three-decade-long pursuit of justice. His quest unfolds like an international spy thriller, weaving together a web of intrigue, suspicious autopsy reports, forged documents, and whispers of a government cover-up. Yet, at its core, this story is about a brokenhearted father, bound by his duty to his daughter. This is the story of André Bamberski and his quest for vigilante vengeance on behalf of his beloved child, Kalinka. EP80: Tankopedia: The Fappening

To support us and gain access to exclusive content, please visit Patreon.com/psychopediapod The Fappening, also known as "Celebgate," refers to a massive leak of private, often intimate, photographs of celebrities that occurred in 2014. The incident, which primarily targeted female celebrities, involved hackers gaining unauthorized access to personal cloud storage accounts and distributing the stolen images online for the entire world to see. Among the victims were high-profile figures like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and Kirsten Dunst. The Fappening highlighted serious concerns about digital privacy, cybersecurity, and the vulnerability of personal data. EP74: Killing for Clicks

On an otherwise tranquil morning in May of 2012, Canada was rocked by an unthinkable crime committed by a depraved, cannibalistic, necrophiliac, 29-year-old porn star named Luka Magnotta. Luka ruthlessly murdered an innocent man, named Jun Lin, before dismembering his body and mailing his remains to various elementary schools and a political center in Canada. Armed with an ice-pick, Luka committed this heinous act as the coup de grâce to a series of violent acts committed online, in which he had the sickening audacity to harm innocent animals. This is the case of the man at the center of the Netflix documentary “Don’t F*ck With Cats,” a man who was at the center of an international manhunt after he made the callous choice to kill for clicks.  TRIGGER WARNING: This episode is graphic in nature and discusses matters relating to domestic violence and animal abuse. EP73: Exorcised to Death

The harrowing case of Anneliese Michel, a young German woman who endured what she believed to be sixty-seven demonic possessions in 1976, stands as one of the most shocking tales in modern history.  Anneliese struggled with physical and psychological symptoms that she attributed to demonic possession, including seizures, hallucinations, severe depression, and intense delusions. As such, Anneliese (willingly?) underwent sixty-seven horrific exorcisms performed by her trusted priest, each more grueling than the last. Her relentless battle with these supposed demonic forces wound up leading to her devastating demise — a brutal, violent, and heartbreaking end to her struggle against spiritual warfare. Anneliese's story is a haunting blend of fear, faith, and human suffering, making it one of the most compelling and tragic accounts of exorcism ever recorded. This case challenges the boundaries of belief and delves deep into the complexities of human endurance, conviction, and religious devotion. UPDATE: On the day on which this update was recorded, a significant development occurred in the case of Lucy Letby, a former nurse who ruthlessly and deliberately murdered seven newborn babies at the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital in England. Tune in to hear this devastating update, "hot off the press," as tragically, Letby has just been convicted of taking yet another precious life. If you've already listened to our coverage of this heartbreaking case, we encourage you to listen again along with the update provided at the top of the episode. If you have not yet listened, be sure to check out our full coverage of the entire case in our two episodes, Nightmare Nurse: Lucy Letby (Part 1 and 2). Please listen with caution. For nearly a full year between June 2015 and June 2016, the neonatal unit at Countess of Chester Hospital in England was plagued by a series of heart-wrenching and inexplicable infant deaths at a rate that was not just alarming, but also statistically unusual and significant. Tragically, newborn baby fatalities and/or near-death collapses were occuring abruptly and often, and crucially, under the care and supervision of one young nurse named Lucy Letby. As the expression goes: once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. Seventeen times (at least) is the work of the most prolific child serial killer in modern UK history. EP72: Cannibal Cop

Should merely fantasizing about abducting, murdering, cooking, and eating women be treated with the same severity as committing the crime itself? This paradox is starkly illustrated in the case of New York Police Department officer Gilberto Valle, who frequented the Dark Web to share his violent and twisted sexual fantasies of abducting, murdering, cooking, and eating women. His case strikes at the heart of freedom of conscience, a fundamental human right that allows for the exploration of ideas within the private sanctuary of the mind. However, while this freedom is essential for creativity and moral deliberation, the potential for thoughts to manifest into actions cannot be ignored, either. The line between thought and deed can blur, especially when considering premeditation in criminal law. This is the absolutely fascinating and disturbing case of The Cannibal Cop. EP71: Skate or Die

Amidst the whirlwind of fame and adrenaline in the skateboarding world of the 1980s, Mark "Gator" Rogowski's unique style and creative tricks dominated the scene, making him a household name and a hero to aspiring skaters everywhere. His presence at any event guaranteed a spectacle, as he seemed to possess an almost supernatural ability to defy the laws of physics. Yet, as the adage goes, "what goes up, must come down." Because beneath the surface of Gator's seemingly perfect life, darker issues lurked. Personal struggles and erratic behavior began to overshadow his achievements, and the same intensity that once fueled his success on the ramps drove him to commit a heinous act of brutality against an innocent 21-year-old woman named Jessica Bergsten. Jessica's tragic death, and the violence that she suffered in her final moments, was absolutely horrific, and shocked not just her devastated family and the skateboarding community, but the entire world. EP70: O.J. Simpson Case of Kazakhstan

In 2023, a beautiful 31-year-old young woman named Saltanat Nukenova was beaten to death for eight hours straight by her violent husband, the former Minister of Economy in Kazakhstan, Kuandyk Bishimbayev. The couple had been married for less than a year, and throughout this short time, the powerful former politician brutalized Saltanat behind closed doors while publicly continuing to rub elbows with the nation's elite. Given the entrenched patriarchy surrounding Saltanat and her husband's ties to the nation's elite, this innocent woman was left with virtually no options for escape. As a result, tragically, she paid for this dire fact with her life. Saltanat's heartbreaking death became an international battle cry for legal reform and women's rights in Kazakhstan, as hundreds of thousands of people, including her loving family, demanded protective rights be instilled, leading to significant changes in domestic violence laws. TRIGGER WARNING: Please note that this episode discusses the harrowing issue of domestic violence. In Part 2 of our deep dive into the Snowtown Murders, we delve further into the horrific activities of John Bunting and his gang of "macabre misfits" as their behavior escalated into outrageously sadistic territory. Following the gruesome murders of 11 individuals, we conclude by exploring how Bunting's reign of terror was ultimately brought to an end and how and where the mutilated remains of his victims were discovered. Additionally, Part 2 discusses the fascinating trial that followed multiple arrests, which became one of the most infamous in Australian legal history due to the gruesome nature of the crimes, the profound psychological impact on the public, and the extraordinary level of control and manipulation involved. Breaking Update! Gilgo Beach: Massacre in the Marsh (Part 1)

UPDATE: On Thursday, June 6, 2024, about one year following our initial two-part coverage of the Gilgo Beach serial killings, a major development occurred. Rex Heuermann, the main suspect who was arrested in July 2023, now faces new murder charges for the tragic and brutal deaths of two additional women—one whom we discussed during our initial coverage, and another previously unconnected to the Gilgo Beach murders. Additionally, chilling discoveries have been made in Heuermann’s home, including new DNA evidence allegedly linking him to these murders. If you’ve already listened to our coverage of this horrific case, we encourage you to listen again along with the update provided at the top of the episode. If you have not yet listened, please do so with caution, as this case is as graphic as it is heartbreaking.  The Long Island Serial Killer case, also known as The Gilgo Beach Murders, has been a haunting unsolved mystery for over a decade that seems to have touched the lives of all New Yorkers, Tank and Slater included. From the disappearances of multiple young women to the discovery of dismembered remains on our local beaches, and even allegations of police corruption, this chilling case is as baffling as it is tragic. Incredibly, after more than a decade of twists and turns, a significant breakthrough occurred just two days prior to the recording of this episode, bringing this absolutely gruesome case back into the spotlight where it belongs. EP68: The Snowtown Murders: Bodies in Barrels (Part 1)

From August 1992 to May 1999, John Bunting led a gang of self-proclaimed vigilante serial killers on one of the world's most bizarre and sadistic murder sprees. Part 1 of the case of the Snowtown Murders, also known as the Bodies in Barrels Murders, delves into some of the darkest corners of the human psyche, where the lines between victim and perpetrator become terrifyingly blurred. John Bunting coerced vulnerable individuals to serve as accomplices in some of the most heinous crimes imaginable. He was a homophobic, Nazi-loving, blood-thirsty disaster of a human being, presenting one of the most shocking examples of stone-cold psychopathy you will ever hear about. Eleven victims lost their lives to his brutality and spent years decomposing in hidden barrels before his reign of terror ended in what is regarded as the worst serial killer case in Australian history. Please listen with caution, as this episode contains difficult topics relating to murder, sexual assault, child abuse, homophobia, and self-harm. EP67: The Lululemon Massacre

On the morning of Saturday, March 2012, in Bethesda, Maryland, law enforcement encountered a scene straight out of a horror film when they entered the Lululemon athletic store in town. Inside this upscale, trendy store, bloodstains smeared the floor, merchandise lay scattered, mannequins were toppled, and a semiconscious young woman with a bloody face had her wrists and ankles bound with zip ties. In the back hallway, they found another young woman, her skull smashed in and her spine severed. The scene was a sickening tableau of violence, immediately suggesting a brutal attack by multiple perpetrators. However, identifying the people/person responsible for this horrific crime was not as straightforward as it initially seemed. And absolutely no one could have possibly guessed the despicable culprit behind this shocking, merciless crime or grasped how truly disturbing and tragic the heartbreaking incident was. EP66: God Is A Woman

Love Has Won is a modern-day cult shrouded in mystery and controversy, heralding a woman named Amy Carlson as the Mother of All Creation. According to Amy’s devout followers, she was a 19-billion-year-old reincarnated deity with the power to cure all illness through love. Her advisory circle was an eclectic ensemble of dead celebrities with whom she claimed to be in direct communication. Amy Carlson led hundreds of followers who believed fervently in her divine identity and powers, trusting her with not just their spiritual and physical well-being, but also their financial resources. Under the guise of spiritual enlightenment and healing, she manipulated and controlled her followers until the day she died by the very principles she preached. Following her death, we are thrusted into a vortex of haunting questions: Was her death, which slowly and painfully unfolded on livestream alongside her followers who watched, murder or suicide? Or, as her disciples proclaim, did she simply leave her earthly body (which had turned completely blue) to ascend to a fifth dimension? Her bizarre saga, from the mundane to the mystical, beckons us to unravel the dangerous reality behind her harrowing end. EP65: "Bye Mam, I Love You"

On a somber Sunday in 2010, the quiet town of Maesteg, South Wales, was shaken by tragedy when 15-year-old Rebecca “Becca” Aylward vanished after meeting her ex-boyfriend, Josh Davies. Her mother, Sonia Oatley, tirelessly searched the streets, driven by dread and mounting desperation. The search ended with a chilling call: "Stop searching. Come home." This confirmed Sonia's worst fears: Becca was not just missing - she was lost forever. The community was stunned to learn that Josh, once trusted and loved by Becca and her entire family, savagely took her young life simply to settle a bet with a friend.  Becca’s last words, "Bye Mam, I love you," will remain a poignant reminder of the innocent life so cruelly taken by a cold, calculated, and ruthless teenage predator. The Ant Hill Kids Cult (featuring Grace O'Malley, host of Plan Bri Uncut podcast)

In this episode, we are joined by special guest, comedian and Barstool podcaster, Grace O'Malley. The Ant Hill Kids, a dangerous cult led by the enigmatic and malevolent Roch Thériault, stands as a chilling testament to the depths of human vulnerability and the intoxicating power of charismatic manipulation. Nestled in the remote wilderness of Canada, this cult was not merely an isolated commune; it was a cauldron of sadistic rituals, extreme religious fervor, and grotesque acts of violence. Thériault, who proclaimed himself the divine messenger of God, ruled over his followers with an iron fist, exploiting their faith to commit unspeakable atrocities of violence. As we delve into the harrowing tale of the Ant Hill Kids, we confront the darkest corners of the human psyche and grapple with the chilling question of how seemingly ordinary individuals ultimately chose to surrender their safety and autonomy to the whims of a madman. @graceomalley @planbriuncut @omalleyoverload @piratewater Instagram + Threads: @psychopediapod @tank.sinatra @investigatorslater Patreon: www.patreon.com/psychopediapod Email: [email protected] Website: www.psychopediapodcast.com To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. EP64: Pranked and Poisoned

The assassination of Kim Jong-Nam, brother of North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un, was an outrageously mind-boggling event. It unfolded like a script where a spy thriller and a candid-camera show intersected and somehow, incredibly, changed history. Prank comedy, particularly in East Asia, has solidified its place in entertainment by capitalizing on the universal appeal of humor and surprise. This unique genre thrives on the unexpected and transforms everyday situations into stages for unscripted comedy. Watching ordinary people caught in extraordinary setups is often hilarious—unless the "prank" turns into a meticulously planned murder, leaving the unsuspecting participant dead. In this case, the victim was no ordinary person but a potential leader of North Korea's Kim dynasty. His death during what seemed like a prank show was actually a political assassination.  Instagram + Threads: @psychopediapod @tank.sinatra @investigatorslater Patreon: www.patreon.com/psychopediapod Email: [email protected] Website: www.psychopediapodcast.com To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. EP63: Scissor Sisters (Part 2)

In Part 2 of our deep dive into the notorious Irish "Scissor Sisters" case, we explore the investigation into the brutal slaughter of 39-year-old Farah Swaleh Noor. Sisters Charlotte and Linda Mulhall bludgeoned, stabbed, and dismembered Noor’s body in a crime so shocking that it continues to shock and disgust. How were these two sisters brought to justice? Moreover, how do their troubled pasts, marked by physical violence and substance abuse, influence our perception of the gruesome act they committed against a man known to be a sexual predator? Our exploration delves into the minds and motives behind these exceedingly violent actions, not to justify them, but to seek a deeper understanding of why the Scissor Sisters embarked on such a dark path. TRIGGER WARNING: This episode is graphic in nature and discusses topics of sexual assault and self-harm. EP62: Scissor Sisters (Part 1)

The notorious "Scissor Sisters" case ranks among the most brutal and shocking in Irish history, leaving a dark mark on the true crime genre. Linda and Charlotte Mulhall, despite a troubled existence marred by alcohol and drug addiction and a history of abuse, had never shown signs of extreme violence or serious legal troubles. That changed dramatically when they gruesomely stabbed, bludgeoned, and cut the throat of their mother's boyfriend, dismembered his body in a bathroom, and discarded the remains in Dublin's Royal Canal. Adding to the horror, they retained his head with the intention of burying it separately, turning a savage murder into a macabre tale of calculated cruelty. In Part 1 of our two-part coverage of this outrageous case, we detail exactly what happened, how it happened, and cover some fascinating facts surrounding "homicidal mutilation." EP61: Neglected to Death

Some fates are worse than death. One such fate—physically melting into a couch, with flesh fusing to the fabric—was absolutely agonizing and tragically endured by a 36-year-old woman named Lacey Fletcher. Lacey faced various challenges that made her entirely dependent upon her parents, Sheila and Clay. However, instead of providing the necessary medical and psychological support that Lacey needed, her parents allowed her to slowly (and painfully) die before their very eyes. Immobible, nonverbal, and unable to call for help, Lacey was at the mercy of two merciless people who allowed maggots to feed off her dying flesh while she was still alive. This case probes deep into the darkest aspects of human nature, where those expected to protect and nurture by virtue of blood and love instead became instruments of outrageous suffering. EP60: Toolbox Killers

"For those of you who don’t know what hell is like, you will find out." These were the foreboding words a prosecutor uttered in 1981, moments before playing 17 harrowing minutes of audio that documented the appalling abuse of a 16-year-old girl. The courtroom was enveloped in grief, with many in tears or compelled to leave…all except for Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris, the two perpetrators responsible for the suffering. Known as “The Toolbox Killers,” this infamous serial killer team sat unfazed, even smiling, as their victim's screams filled the room, a stark testament to their depravity. Responsible for the torture and murder of five teenage girls in California, Bitaker and Norris's actions truly represent the epitome of human cruelty. Their heartbreaking, calculated torment of their victims before their deaths is the stuff of nightmares. TRIGGER WARNING: This case is very graphic in nature and may be difficult to listen to. EP59: Kim Kardashian's Killer Klone

On what began as a seemingly ordinary afternoon on September 20, 2017, a dense cloud of smoke suddenly enveloped the affluent Southfields neighborhood in Wimbledon, London, casting an ominous veil over the area that signaled the start of an unforeseen and chilling scene. Firefighters, responding to what they initially believed was a routine call about a backyard bonfire gone awry, made a harrowing discovery as they worked to extinguish the flames: dismembered human fingers and a charred nose. The investigation into identifying the incinerated remains culminated in a disturbing revelation that sent shockwaves throughout Europe. Because it became clear that Sophie Lionnet, an innocent 21-year-old French au pair, died a brutal death at the twisted hands of her depraved host parents, Sabrina Kouider and Ouissem "Sam" Medouni. Despite Sabrina's Hollywood-esque exterior and love for the lime light, her inner world was fraught with turmoil, manipulation, and chaos—a stark contrast that ultimately lead to the torture and tragic death of an innocent young woman. EP58: Face Eating Frat Boy

In an act that defied all notions of humanity and sanity, a 19-year-old college student named Austin Harrouff viciously stabbed and cannibalized an innocent couple living in Jupiter, Florida. When police arrived at the horrific scene in August of 2016, Austin was discovered swallowing and spitting out chunks of flesh from one of his victim's faces in an act so horrific, that it seemed to be the manifestation of the darkest depths of human depravity.  This grotesque display of violence, however, cannot be detached from the significant role that Austin's mental health played in precipitating these brutal actions. Prior to this devastating event, there were indicators of Austin's deteriorating psychological state, hinting at a profound struggle within. This devastating case forces us to confront questions about the intersection of mental illness and extreme violence, and urges a deeper examination of how society addresses mental health, particularly among the youth, and the mechanisms in place to prevent such tragedies from unfolding. EP57: Serial Killer Robert Pickton (Part 2)

In the second installment of our exploration into Canada's most prolific serial killer, Robert "Willy" Pickton, we reach the harrowing climax of over a decade of unspeakable acts, and unveil the downfall of a truly vile man. We delve into the twisted psyche of Robert Pickton, probing the depths of human depravity to understand how a person could embody such evil. The ensuing investigation, the most extensive in Canadian history, not only uncovered the grim reality of his crimes but also sparked a long-overdue overhaul of law enforcement practices in the wake of this soul-shattering case. The voices of the 49 "invisible" Indigenous women and sex workers, silenced and marginalized, finally resonated through the corridors of justice as the true horror of their fates was brought into the light, honored, and mourned. Yet, as we dissect the intricacies of this case, a chilling question lingers: Did Robert Pickton face the full extent of justice? Especially since recent headlines suggest the alarming possibility that he might once again walk freely among us after all these years... EP56: Serial Killer Robert Pickton: Pig Farmer (Part 1)

In the first installment of our in-depth look at Robert "Willy" Pickton, Canada's most prolific serial killer, we delve into the dark and tragic saga of 49 innocent women who met their untimely deaths in the most horrific ways imaginable. These victims, who were pushed to the fringes of society by poverty, addiction, and the necessity of survival sex work, fell prey to a merciless killer who leveraged their societal invisibility and capitalized on the police's glaring indifference and neglect. Part 1 of our two-part series kicks off our deep examination of this horrific case (which sparked the largest serial killer investigation in Canadian history), while simultaneously honoring the memory of the silenced victims. Because the tragedy of these "invisible" women extends beyond their brutal murders, as Robert Pickton further desecrated their remains by feeding them to the pigs on his farm. PLEASE LISTEN WITH CAUTION. EP52: Olympic Gold Murderer: The Case of Oscar Pistorius

On Valentine's Day 2013, a truly devastating tragedy unfolded: Reeva Steenkamp, a 29-year-old South African former model, TV personality, and law graduate, adored for her vibrant spirit, was brutally gunned down in her boyfriend's bathroom. The scene that law enforcement encountered was one of stark and shocking contrast: beside Reeva's bloodied and broken form stood none other than global icon Oscar Pistorius, the internationally acclaimed Olympic and Paralympic sprinter. At 27-years-old, Pistorius, an athlete with both legs amputated below the knee, earned global acclaim as "The Blade Runner." His extraordinary athleticism and determination defied the odds and inspired millions worldwide. Yet, in this harrowing moment, Pistorius transformed in the public eye from a celebrated figure to a cold-blooded killer, ominously dubbed "The Blade Gunner." The case sent shockwaves around the world as people grappled with the horrifying descent of a beloved hero into an infamous murderer. Wrongful accusation and conviction is a living nightmare, a devastating storm of confusion, fear, and disbelief that tears at one's soul and destroys the human spirit. False accusations cut deep, transforming the world into an alien landscape where truth fades and your voice, crying out in innocence, is drowned out by the roar of judgment in a deeply flawed legal system. In the U.S., thousands suffer from wrongful convictions in a system where innocence, though fundamental, is often overshadowed. In this episode, we explore the tragic case of Jennifer Thompson-Cannino, a young woman who suffered a horrific rape, and the ensuing devastation when Ronald Cotton, an innocent man, was wrongfully convicted for this heinous crime. TRIGGER WARNING: Please note that we discuss the difficult topic of sexual assault and rape, and urge you to listen with caution. Book recommendation: Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption by Jennifer Thompson-Cannino, Ronald Cotton, and Erin Torneo Instagram + Threads: @psychopediapod @tank.sinatra @investigatorslater Patreon: www.patreon.com/psychopediapod Email: [email protected] Website: www.psychopediapodcast.com To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. EP50: Turn On the News, B*tch

"The Joker," a pinnacle of cinematic villainy, has been an emblem of unadulterated chaos for nearly a century. This character is the very personification of turmoil and lawlessness, marked by a deranged psyche and a telltale, sinister smile. In a chilling parallel to this fictional entity, Jamie Osuna, a real-life criminal bearing a permanent smile tattooed on his face, manifested a similarly distorted moral compass and taste for destruction. Osuna reveled in orchestrating death and devastation and destroying the lives of those around him. While not explicitly emulating The Joker, Osuna's sadistic actions exhibited a similar level of unpredictability and malevolence. He was responsible for heinous acts of violence, including torture, homicide, dismemberment, and decapitation, and left a trail of horror reminiscent of the menacing essence of The Joker. EP49: Pink Panty Predator

In the early 1990s, the quiet town of Beelitz, Germany was haunted by a grotesque and horrifying figure known as “The Beast of Beelitz.” This serial killer preyed upon innocent and unsuspecting victims, and subjected them to unspeakable acts of violence before taking their lives. His depravity knew no bounds as he sought to fulfill his twisted desires, which did not end with his victims’ tragic deaths, but continued postmortem as he desecrated their bodies in unimaginably vile ways. Furthermore, “The Beast of Beelitz” added a deeply disturbing layer to his heinous acts by wearing women's underwear during these appalling crimes, and then intentionally evacuating his bowels to satisfy a perverse sexual fetish. Needless to say, “The Beat of Beelitz”  went on to become one of the most gruesome serial killers in German criminal history.
