How to survive COVID by taking care of your gut. Graham Phillips is back on The Big Middle in his role as a resident of Metabolic Science Brainbox. His knowledge runs deep. Listen to episode 64 to catch his debut. This pandemic has shown that lifestyle diseases that set us up for the worst COVID outcomes are within our power to avoid. If we know how. Here’s a sampler from our conversation:

“Your microbiome is your second brain”
“95% of your supply of serotonin -your happy hormone- is in your gut, not your brain”
“The state of your microbiome is your destiny, not your genes”
“We have 100 trillion bugs in our gut but only a few more genes than a banana”

Aseem Malhotra and the 21 Day Immunity Plan
Last week's special ProLongevity guest was Dr Aseem Malhotra,
https://doctoraseem.com/.
Perhaps the most influential cardiologist in Britain, Aseem is successfully spearheading a campaign against excess sugar consumption.
Graham and Aseem discuss Aseem's latest book "The 21 day immunity plan"
"Aseem nails it. It’s hard to change your life — but this book gives you all the reasons it’s possible. Reading this book was like a penny dropping If you are overweight and unhappy about it, Aseem Malhotra is on your side. Not just about what we eat, but about who we are. Brilliant! Far better to read Aseem in this book than end up having to see him as a patient.
Jeremy Vine, BBC broadcaster and writer.
Graham and Aseem discuss how simple, incremental lifestyle changes can transform your health and massively reduce your Covid risks. Everything that Aseem suggests is integral to the ProLongevity program. Aseem's book and our program complement each other perfectly. Aseem sets out the principles of what you need to do to optimise your health. We are all different which is why one-size--fits all approach doesn't work, ProLongevity is your personalised, proven implementation strategy.

The Dangers of Alcohol Before Sleep? | With Graham Phillips | The ProLongevity Podcast - Episode 1
Find out about the damaging effects of using alcohol to get to sleep.
Alcohol helps us to relax and nod off in no time, but even just a couple of drinks can radically affect the quality of our sleep.
If you're regularly drinking more than Govt guidelines recommend, you may find you wake up the next day feeling like you haven't had much rest at all. Regularly drinking alcohol will disrupt sleep. For example, a heavy drinking session of more than six units in an evening can make us spend more time in deep sleep and less time than usual in the important Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage of sleep, which is an important restorative stage of sleep our bodies need.
