Stephanie Hirst is an LGBT+ icon and also a broadcasting legend. She has spent her entire adult life hosting radio shows, winning awards for her breakfast shows, hosting segments with Lorraine Kelly on Good Morning Britain and she was the host of the UK national commercial chart show for many years.
In 2014 she dramatically quit her breakfast show, Hirsty's Daily Dose and later appeared on the Steven Nolan programme on BBC Radio 5 Live to go public on her gender transition. Since then she has appeared in The Independent on Sunday's Rainbow list of the 101 most influential LGBTQ+ people in the UK and been given an honorary doctorate by Leeds Beckett University for her LGBT activism.
Here she chats to her former colleague Graeme Smith about her life, her career and her transition for the first time across two episodes. Stephanie Hirst gives one of the most in depth and personal interviews she has ever given.

LGBTQ+ people are 1.5 times more likely to develop depression. Gay men are 4 times as likely to commit suicide than the rest of the population and 46 percent of trans people have thought about ending their life.

JAY HAWKRIDGE opened at Tik Tok account in November 2020, aimed at reducing HIV stigma following his own positive HIV diagnosis months earlier.
Since then he's gone out of his way to educate and inform on what it means to HIV positive in the 2020's. Often this means facing down extreme prejudice in the comments to his social media videos.
Now a year on from beginning his campaign he is a Tik Tok UK LGBTQ+ ambassador, he's featured in a new major TV documentary for Sky and is ready to tell his story at length for the first time in a catchup with Graeme Smith in Liverpool ahead of World Aids Day 2021.
