Jesus & The 7 Frequencies
Pastor Erwin McManus shared a dynamic new message based on the scriptures and his brand-new book The Seven Frequencies of Communication.
After being asked what God’s frequency of communication is, Pastor Erwin shared that Jesus himself is God’s frequency of communication.
Through examples in the scriptures, we see that though Jesus is fluent in all seven frequencies, he tailors his voice to the needs of each individual.
To the broken, Jesus speaks as a healer.
To those who need a teacher, Jesus speaks as a professor.
To the stagnant, Jesus speaks as a challenger.
To the doubtful, Jesus speaks as a motivator.
To those who need vision, Jesus speaks as a seer.
To the directionless, Jesus speaks as a commander.
To those who need a new view of reality, Jesus speaks as a maven.
Jesus is always speaking to us in the frequency we need to hear in the moment instead of simply what we want to hear.
Are you ready to tune into the frequency of Jesus?

Self Talk
This past Sunday, Pastor Erwin delivered an impactful message on the power of self-talk.
Drawing from Jeremiah 1, he highlighted the critical interruption that occurs when we speak to ourselves in the frequency of self-doubt, self pity, and self-loathing.
When we allow negative self-talk to overshadow the voice of God, our lives become smaller. But when God's voice breaks through, it moves us into a miraculous life that can only be lived by tuning into his frequency.
The voice of God invites you to:
Accept Your Calling by trusting that God will empower you, even in your weakness.
Accept Your Battle by facing the challenges ahead, knowing that God is with you.
Accept Your Value by acknowledging that God created you with divine intention.
Jeremiah had to come to terms with the reality that God saw him differently than he saw himself. God is always calling out the best in us even when we can't see it yet.
Are you ready to let the voice of God define you?

The Intentional Ones
Moses led the flock when he should have been leading people. When you are running from God and not living out his intention, you do less than you were created to do. I want God to engage in a conversation with me about my needs, where I am. It shouldn't at least be the opening conversation. Guide begins here with Moses. I am sending you to pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. Moses, there's a calling on your life, and now it's time to step up to it.
Joshua follows Moses. Sometimes when everything goes bad in our life, we actually relinquish our intention rather than embrace it. Jonah is the story of a person who knew God's intention but chose not to live it out. And here's the crazy thing about being a human. We can violate and reject the intention God gave it.
Everything God creates is under his intention. Wouldn't it be better to align your life with the intention for which you were created, so the whole universe will be in your favor? Have you ever noticed how much energy we lose when we're unhappy?

Fast Forward
This Past Sunday, Pastor Erwin McManus delivered a challenging message on the importance of living in responsive obedience to God’s voice.
Speaking from the book of Hebrews, he shared that though God has an incredible future in store for us — it is our responsibility to move into it.
Pastor Erwin gave us three key insights:
-You do not have the power to slow down time, but you have the power to delay your future.
-Your speed of response to the voice of God is the measure of your intimacy with God.
-You can fast forward your future as you close the gap between hearing God’s voice and acting on what he has spoken to you.
Are you ready to move at the speed of God’s voice?

The Open Souls || From The Archives
As we continue our archived series Life in Color, we explore the nature of happiness. Pastor Erwin reflects on a personal story about waking up smiling, underscoring the joy found in small moments. This leads into a deeper discussion on how happiness is often elusive, but attainable when we focus on hope, awe, and living authentically. The conversation highlights that those who experience the most joy are often the ones who live with an openness of mind, heart, and soul.
We delve into the significance of maintaining an "open system" in life, as opposed to a "closed system." A closed system is described as living in fear and saying "no" to new possibilities, while an open system is about embracing life with a sense of adventure, curiosity, and trust. The speaker uses biblical references, including Jeremiah 33 and the life of Moses, to illustrate the importance of being open to learning from various sources and experiences, even those outside one’s faith.
The episode continues to challenge listeners to think about the balance between material wealth and true happiness, emphasizing that the possession of things often leads to a scarcity mindset, while open hands and generosity can lead to a deeper fulfillment. The speaker touches on the universal pursuit of happiness and the need for faith to lead us into a more open, exploratory, and generous life.
Through powerful personal stories and scriptural teachings, listeners are encouraged to reflect on whether they are living with open minds, open hands, and open hearts, ready to embrace life and all the surprises it brings. The episode ends with an invitation to step into a life of faith, surrendering to the openness that leads to ultimate joy and purpose.

Overflow
Every single week, we send a new message across the world. He says Mosaic has incredible people who give generously and sacrificially to make this possible. He wants you to become a part of our support system. Allow Jesus to speak to you in a way that will change your life. In all of human history, there has never been a place where God was
not at work. The question is not, is God working, but are you working with God? All God wants from you is, I am willing.
In this moment, there was a simple invitation to everyone who was willing to come. Our dream was that mosaic would be the community that would commit itself to reaching the outlier. I'd like to propose that we spend the next ten years creating communities, not just in LA and in London. When God moves in history, there is an overflow of talent. We have to destroy the idea that if it's for God, all that matters is how sincere you are rather than how committed you are. You must become the best version of you. Be the measure of your life.

Residual Proof
You cannot live life without faith. What drives faith is that we're all looking to make sense of life. The more meaningless your life is, the more empty you will be of life, he says. Hope remains not just faith, but hope. Hope only exists in the future. The moment you get something you hope for, guess what? It's no longer a source of hope. Human beings are designed with a need for progress. Hope is not optional. It's essential. The moment you feel depressed, go, oh, my soul is telling me my life can be more. Only humans feel the depression of being less than they can see in their imagination. Everything God does is always expanding. You are designed to keep growing every moment of your life. When you love someone, you lose your mind. The best way to never put yourself in danger is to never love just before yourself. Love realigns your choices and redefines your life. Why do we even think about unconditional love? It's because our souls know we're designed for unconditional love.

Live Like It Matters || From The Archives
In this episode, the discussion centers on the wisdom and practical life insights shared by Solomon, particularly in the context of Ecclesiastes 11. Erwin reflects on the poetic yet gritty advice Solomon offers, highlighting the importance of integrating spirituality into everyday life rather than viewing it as something detached or otherworldly.
The narrative shifts to a real-life example from a visit to Nashville, where the aftermath of a flood serves as a stark reminder of how quickly life can change and how possessions, memories, and hopes can be lost. This experience is used to illustrate the relative scale of personal crises and the universal challenge of perspective.
Solomon's wisdom, as explored in the chapter, emphasizes the value of building a life on principles of wisdom, generosity, and long-term investment. The famous verse "Cast your bread upon the waters" is unpacked, revealing its deeper meaning about investing in the future, being generous, and not clinging too tightly to what we have in the present. Erwin challenges the listener to consider how they are using their resources, whether financial, intellectual, or relational, to create a better future.
The episode also touches on the importance of understanding the cause-and-effect nature of life. Solomon’s insights encourage focusing on the causes—hard work, investment, and action—rather than merely hoping for favorable effects. Erwin drives home the message that life doesn’t happen by accident, and intentional effort is crucial for success.
The closing thoughts emphasize the need to stop merely talking and start doing. Erwin warns against the allure of avoiding work and instead encourages embracing it as a vital part of life’s purpose. Solomon’s final advice to "sow your seed in the morning and at evening" serves as a reminder that consistent, diligent work is key to achieving meaningful outcomes, even when the results are uncertain.
This episode offers a blend of ancient wisdom and practical advice, urging listeners to actively engage with life, invest in the future, and embrace hard work as a path to fulfillment and success.

The Seven Frequencies Of Communication - Elevating Your Frequency, Part 2
Lead Pastor Erwin McManus shared a new message from the Seven Frequencies of Communication series teaching us how to elevate our frequency of communication.
He emphasized that communicating with empathy and authenticity is the key to creating transformation.
Pastor Erwin pulled a powerful insight from the book of John. He showed us that Jesus always operated with empathy that dismantled the condemnation that others try to put on us.
Jesus also exemplified the power of authenticity as he called out a man named Nathanael who was seeking God not for personal gain but for a genuine encounter.
And when empathy is combined with authenticity, our communication becomes an unstoppable force.

Maximize Your Strength || From The Archives
If the axe is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed. But skill will bring success. What Solomon is telling us is that wisdom actually translates itself into skill.
Are you doing what you were created to do? I think a lot of us are living accidental lives. Sometimes we just end up doing whatever came to us first. The danger is that you stop being proactive in creating the future.
There are a lot of things in life that are transitional. Have you ever noticed that you change the way you dress when you're in a funk? Are you doing what you're created to do? Have you chosen this path on purpose?
Mariah wants to apply to fashion school. She designs a dress out of the LA Weekly. She didn't want any help. When she was done, I was actually really shocked. Even looks good.

Salomon saw the difference between knowing what to do and someone who actually made their life count. In this moment, Solomon was able to see the power of wisdom without advantage. Every person who's determined to make life count is going to face an overwhelming sense of insignificance. In a sense, we're all faking it. We're all trying to act like we know more than we know. When you strip us away, we are all naked and ashamed.
To live with the name Irwin is a constant reminder that I was not born for great things. I kept wanting to change my name, but my grandfather said it was the name of someone whose life will make a difference in the world. The way you overcome a sense of insignificance is understanding the significance of each individual. There's no context too small for God to do something, something really, really big. When you enter a relationship with God, he changes you at the very core. Don't be afraid to let the circumstances of life strip you down to who you really are. Playing With God || From The Archives
A lot of us live in this compulsive religious trap where we keep performing for God rather than listening to God. He says Solomon warned us that we need to stop playing with God. Greene: If you're giving because you hope that giving will somehow get God on your side, you're just wasting your money. Sometimes we just perform for God, but I think other times we're actually pretending with God. Solomon tells us not to be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. There's nothing more destructive to the human spirit than pretending withGod. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. Much dreaming and many words are meaningless, therefore fear God. God holds us accountable for our dreams. I think it's better to make fewer promises and live on the promises.
A husband and a wife made a vow to God, and didn't keep it. With his wife's full knowledge, he kept back part of the money for himself. When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. Great fear seized the whole church. If you're going to lie about God and pretend you're doing things
for God, you have just provoked God.

I Am All Alone || From The Archives
Until you change your values, you will not change how you live your life. We need to recognize that everything in life will pull away at the relationships that we have. It's what we do to nurture those relationships that really brings meaning to our lives. I think one of the greatest gifts that we have as a community is to create community and provide community for those around us. Relationships are tough. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give another human being is to invite them to come with you and serve the world together.
When two or more are gathered in my name, he says, I am there in the mist. The church has not been particularly helpful in the last few decades of helping people connect to God. Don't use all the problems in the church to be an excuse for an individualistic spirituality. When we're all alone, I can't always explain it. It has been with me
for 50 years of my life. The difference now is that for decades, I just carried that inside of me alone. We all are just one thin breath away from feeling as if we're alone in the world.

Podcast Summary: "Existential Musings: Humanity and the Animal Condition"
In this episode, we explore Solomon's reflections on human and animal existence. Solomon suggests that humans and animals share the same fate—both return to dust after death—highlighting life's inherent futility. Humans, unlike animals, are burdened with the awareness of their mortality, deepening existential despair and raising the question of whether it is better never to have been born to avoid life's inevitable suffering.
We critique modern society's prioritization of animal life over human suffering, hinting at a deeper cultural nihilism. This observation challenges us to rethink our valuation of life and the essence of our existence.
Personal anecdotes and near-death experiences enrich the dialogue, offering a glimpse into the transformative power of confronting mortality. These stories underscore the fragility of life and the impact of existential realizations on personal and spiritual growth.
Ultimately, this dive back into the archives invites listeners to appreciate the present moment and redefine true living, seeking a deeper understanding of life's purpose and the interconnectedness of all beings. Finding Beauty || From The Archives
Welcome to the "Reality Check: Search for the Real" podcast. In this series, we've explored Solomon’s quest for meaning in the Book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon finds that work, wealth, power, and pleasure all ultimately lead to emptiness.
In Ecclesiastes chapter 3, Solomon offers hope through the passage, “There is a time for everything.” This highlights life's cycles and contrasts—joy and sorrow, birth and death. Solomon notes that while we live in time, God has placed eternity in our hearts, creating a tension between our temporal lives and our eternal longings.
Paul’s New Testament writings echo this, suggesting that our experiences, both good and bad, are designed by God to draw us closer to Him. This divine orchestration aims to awaken our search for the eternal.
Through our struggles and triumphs, we can find purpose and beauty, trusting that God makes everything beautiful in its time. Join us next week as we continue to explore the profound wisdom of Ecclesiastes and our search for life's meaning.

Making It Work For You || From The Archives
In this episode, Pastor Erwin delves into the common dissatisfaction with work and its significant impact on our lives. He emphasizes how work often overshadows other important aspects, such as family, hobbies, and personal passions. Drawing from Solomon's reflections in Ecclesiastes, the discussion centers on the futility of labor without meaning, highlighting the emptiness of success when it's pursued solely for material gain.
Pastor Erwin shares personal anecdotes about the stress and insomnia caused by work, and how our lives can feel like a cycle of unfulfilling toil. He stresses the importance of integrating passion and creativity into our work to avoid a life dominated by meaningless labor. True motivation and productivity come from having autonomy, mastery, and purpose in our roles. Pastor Erwin asserts that it is the individual's responsibility to bring meaning to their work, regardless of the job's nature. By approaching even mundane tasks with creativity and passion, we can transform work into a source of joy and fulfillment.
The episode concludes with a call to action: listeners are urged to reevaluate their approach to work and find ways to infuse it with meaning. This past Sunday Pastor Erwin McManus spoke on the importance of living connected not only to God, but to the gift of the Church.
Sharing from the book of Corinthians, he gave us three essential truths from the scriptures to inform the way we relate to God and others:
1. We are a unique part of the whole.
2. We are not whole when we are apart.

This weekend, Pastor Erwin McManus brought new insights that challenged us to step into a new level of connection to God.
Speaking from the book of Galatians, he shared that there are 3 levels of connection to God:
1: The universal good
2: The adopted child
3: The heir apparent
We experience the universal good as we live our lives enjoying the blessings that God gives to all of humanity whether we believe in him or not. The adopted child has a relationship with God and experiences his grace, but the heir apparent has stepped into the maturity needed to inherit the life that God is longing to give them.

Speaking from Hebrews chapter 8, he explains that God chose Israel to be an example of what it means to obey God as a result of having our hearts transformed from stone to flesh.
Pastor Erwin explains that when we are given hearts of flesh instead of hearts of stone, we become our most human selves — able to embrace attributes like humility, forgiveness, and gratitude.
We are not designed to live rigid lives with hearts of stone that are unwilling to yield to Jesus. God’s covert mission compels us to love and follow him out of an overflow of our love for him.

Consciousness
Pastor Erwin McManus brought a riveting new message on the importance of living a life deeply connected to God.
Pulling from a fascinating story about Elijah and Ahab in the Scriptures, Pastor Erwin points out that there are 4 different levels of awareness that we can decide to live in.
Unconscious: unaware of God's movement around us.
Experiential: only believe in what can be seen, heard, and touched.
Spiritual: aware that a spiritual realm exists.
Transcendent: in step with the future God is creating through prayer.
While Ahab was only aware of God's movement when he could see, hear, or touch it, Elijah could sense God's movement before it was ever actualized in front of him.
Pastor Erwin encourages us Elijah's spiritual life is the rule and not the exception to our spiritual lives. Each of us has access to God on this level through prayer.

Why Jesus? || From The Archives
For some of us, having faith in God comes more naturally. For others, it isn’t that simple. In this message from August of 2018, Pastor Erwin McManus walks us through his journey of finding faith. He explains that to him, the journey to Jesus was just that: a journey! Growing up he experienced a wide array of religions and was exposed to many world views. He did not imagine being a pastor when he grew up.
As we navigate our way through life, we are informed about different religions and ways to God. But how do we know which path really is the way? Pastor Erwin references John 14:6 when Jesus says “No one comes to the Father except through me.” He explains that Jesus came to us and did not force us to believe. Rather, our own souls call us to believe in something more, and that Jesus is the only God that is searching for us, rather than us searching for God.
When we have only a mathematical view of the world, we simply become a part of the falling domino effect. Our lives are a passive happening that we do not have freedom of choice inside of. But we know there must be more intention and meaning to our lives than this. We know deep down there is purpose and that our choices make a powerful impact on the future. Jesus’ life is the perfect example of a God who meets us right where we are and opens us up to the wonder of life all around us.
“Jesus came to show us what God would do to get to us.”

This is why the story of Jesus still resonates within the human heart two thousand years after his birth.
At the core of who we are, we desperately long to be found, and God stepping into human history is our divine intervention.

Hope In A Desperate Time || From The Archives
This week dig into the archives from a message from 2014.
A Tribute to Robin Williams by Erwin Raphael McManus:
"I had the beautiful privilege of running into Robin Williams years ago. He was gracious and kind and warm and deeply human. He was also the funniest person I have ever encountered in my life. He was funnier in a spontaneous 10 minutes on the way to the men's room than most are on stage delivering their best material. What struck me most was how generous he was with his time and how he genuinely enjoyed bringing people happiness. If you can love a person you don't know I have always loved Robin Williams. He made my life better. He made me better. His roles inspired me and elevated me. How tragic that a person would chose to end a life that the all of us treasured as a gift. Robin, if you could have only known how you made us feel... How you made us better. How your laughter healed us. You are a great loss to us. Everyone should know they matter more than they know. Everyone should know that life is worth the struggle. Everyone should have someone to remind them how much we need them here with us. Too many beautiful people have come to tragic endings. May every space where humans dwell be drenched in hope and love. Captain, My Captain."

Amazing Things || From The Archives
Joshua 3:1-17
"Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.” Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.” So they took it up and went ahead of them. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ” Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God. This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord —the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.” So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground."

The End of Fear || From The Archives
What are we so afraid of? In this reflective conversation, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus helps us unpack how fear impacts our lives and can paralyze us from stepping into the future we long for.
He encourages us to look at fear differently. What if our fear is not situational but simply a reality we have allowed to rule us from the inside-out? What if the things we are most afraid of are simply the objects we project our innermost fears onto? What if living courageously was a choice?
In Joshua chapter 1, God commanded Joshua and his people to be strong and courageous. This means choosing courage is not simply a suggestion God gives us, but a command. And though many of us have created lives that are tailor-made around our fears, Pastor Erwin proposes that the life God has for us will force us to walk into the center of our fears.
When Jesus died on the cross, he declared to humanity that even death was not something to be feared. When we are aware of how deeply loved we are by God, we experience a boldness that sends us into our deepest fears with a heart full of courage. As we look to the example of Jesus, we are compelled to choose a life filled to the brim with courage and strength.

Go Unless You Get A No - Chasing Daylight || From The Archives
"You cannot live the life you dreamed of of you don’t live a life of risk"
- Erwin McManus
Pastor and author Erwin McManus continues our journey with "Chasing Daylight".
To seize divine moments, we must become free to risk. God does not call us to a safe faith and Pastor McManus reminds us that faith does not remove danger; faith makes us dangerous.
Like Jonathan stepping boldly into battle against the Philistines, to live life to the fullest we must be willing to trust God and step into a future we cannot predict.
Too often we live invisibly to avoid conflict or the risk of failure – in our jobs, with our passions, or in our relationships – but when we choose to be seen and visible to the world for who we are, the invisible God is made known. At the end of your life, you will have either chosen to live a life of risk or you will have lived a life of regret.
Choose to risk!

Breathe In Breathe Out - Chasing Daylight || From The Archives
"Everything you do is an act of influence."
- Erwin McManus
Pastor and author Erwin McManus continues our journey with "Chasing Daylight".
We underestimate the importance of influence when we choose to prioritize gaining success, financial gain, or command. The power of our influence cannot hindered by a lack of resources or authority. Authority shapes what a person does, but not their character; authority does not equal influence and it does not have the same result. The more energy and time you put into developing your character, the more you build into your influence.
Inhale the good and wisdom that God has for you and exhale His hope and joy into others. When you keep to yourself what He’s doing in your life, you don’t get more air to breathe, you begin to suffocate. Everything He gives us is meant to be shared and experienced by the people in your world. Your life will be measured by your influence on others!

Limitless
Pastor Erwin McManus kicks off Generosity Month at Mosaic with a new message on how you can use your God-given ability to create wealth.
When we ask God to do more for us, he often responds by asking us to do more for others.
In Deuteronomy, God lays out a framework to help us understand our capacity to generate wealth and the responsibility our wealth has to impact as many lives as possible.
When we position ourselves with a heart of generosity, there’s no limit to how God can move in our lives.

They Won't See It Until You Do It - Mind Shift
In the conclusion to the Mind Shift series, Pastor Erwin McManus challenges us to live a life of risk-taking, audacious faith and go where no one we know has gone before.
Pastor Erwin shares that most often, people simply won’t understand our calling until we live it out.
Sometimes we won’t even understand our calling until we step out in faith in response to God’s voice.
Pastor Erwin reminds us that no one living in Jesus’ time understood why he chose to live and die as he did. It’s not until thousands of years later that Jesus’ intention is clear to us.
We aren’t called to reach the ‘top’ of success like we see modeled in another person’s life. Instead, we are called to journey to the edge - where our faith steps out into the unknown.
It’s the process of living out of our faith - not the outcome of our success - that God wants to celebrate with us.
Are you ready to do what’s never been done before?

You Find What You Are - Mind Shift
In week four of the Mind Shift series, Pastor Erwin McManus reveals that what we find in the world around us is a direct reflection of who we are.
Pastor Erwin uses the story of Cain from Genesis as an example of this principle. After Cain kills his brother out of jealousy, he lives in constant fear of being killed himself. Because he had been willing to commit murder, he saw murder in the heart of everyone around him.
Not only do you see in others what you hide in yourself, you attract from the world what you put into it.
If you want to surround yourself with people who are not bitter, you must first choose forgiveness. If you want to find trustworthy friends, you must become trustworthy. If you want to live in a better world, you must choose to become a better person.
Change your outer world by transforming your inner world.
It all starts with this mind shift!

You Are Your Own Ceiling - Mind Shift
In week three of the Mind Shift series, Pastor Erwin McManus unpacked the importance of breaking through the internal ceilings that hold us back.
In the book of Matthew, Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
However, we often believe we are walking in faith when we act passively, waiting for God to move on our behalf.
Pastor Erwin challenged us to engage our faith by asking for big things and taking action to achieve the life we long to live.
When we knock on the doors we want to see open, we stop them from turning into walls that surround us.

The Human Dilemma - Mind Shift
In week two of the Mind Shift series, Pastor Erwin McManus highlighted the importance of pursuing our personal callings in the midst of relational tension.
As Jesus shared a confronting message with a crowd in the book of John, many people left. Jesus then turned to his disciples and asked if they wanted to leave him too.
Jesus personally understood the reality of shifting relational dynamics when stepping into his intention.
Pastor Erwin emphasized that if people walked away from Jesus when he was walking in his purpose, why do we think we won’t lose people along the way.
And though we will lose people, we were reminded that we become a magnet for everyone that’s supposed to find us when we step into our intention.

Change Your Mind - Mind Shift
Pastor Erwin McManus kicked off his new series Mind Shift with an incredible message on the power of our thinking to transform our lives.
As referenced in Proverbs 23, the way we think defines who we are and who we will become.
When we enter into a relationship with Jesus, our spirit is transformed. But we must do the necessary work to transform our lives by thinking differently.
The same way negative thinking sets us up for failure, aligning our thinking with Jesus' intention for us sets us up for success.
Every time you make a mind shift to match the mind of Christ, you become a reflection of who God created you to become.
Are you ready for a Mind Shift?

Leverage: I Appeal To Caesar
Are you leveraging your God-given influence?
This weekend, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus delivered an eye-opening message on the importance of understanding our unique influence.
Sharing from Acts 25, he breaks down the story of Paul, a disciple of Jesus who was charged by the Jews for breaking the law.
In his response to his charges, Paul stated “I appeal to Caesar." As a Roman citizen, Paul knew he had unique influence in the Roman Empire and was unafraid to proclaim his faith in front of the most powerful man of his time.
Paul leveraged his influence to be a catalyst for the movement of Jesus across the Roman empire.
Pastor Erwin reminds us to make the secular sacred by bringing our faith into every sphere of influence we have been entrusted with.

Pastor Erwin McManus shared a brand new message on the power of embracing the life Jesus died to give us.
He explained that a singularity is a future point in time when unforeseeable changes happen in human civilization due to technological growth.
Based on Ephesians chapter 2, Pastor Erwin shared that the moment you give your life to Jesus — you become a singularity.
As God brings your soul from death to life, he positions you in a limitless eternal reality. In this new reality, God has given you everything you need to live out the purpose He’s given you.

The Future of History: Mosaic Conference 2018 || From The Archives
Do you ever feel as if your future is already written? In this beautiful message from Mosaic Conference 2018, Pastor Erwin McManus reveals how all of us are co-authors of the future. The future is not a concrete reality, but history that is ready to be created.
Out of 1 Corinthians 2, Pastor Erwin explains that we can have access to the story God is telling because we have the Spirit of God inside of us. In our connection to God, we are able to create history the way God intended: a history filled with hope, joy and imagination.
God gives us access to the eternal story he is writing into history in the present moment. Though we can feel limited by our circumstances, we are not trapped in time and space. We have access to the mind of God, who is eternal. Our lives are meant to be a portal between the present moment and the beautiful story that God is telling through us.

The Future of Humanity: Mosaic Conference 2018 || From The Archives
In a powerful, thought-provoking message from Mosaic Conference in 2018, Pastor Erwin McManus casts vision for the future of humanity. Based on Ezekiel 36, he highlights the promise God has for us as we take on the future: that our hearts of stone will be replaced with hearts of flesh.
Pastor Erwin highlights that though at times he would rather have the heart of Iron Man instead of a heart of flesh, God doesn’t want to restore us to be hurt, but to bring us back to our original intent as humans, created with the imagination of God.
Because God imagined us into the future, we were made to create the future we dream of as well. In his message, Pastor Erwin states that we create from our essence. This is why it is essential to create from a heart of flesh. When God gives us a new heart, we can create from our original intent-from a heart filled with compassion, empathy and intelligence.
If you’ve been longing to create a future that right now you can only dream of, check out this amazing new message!

Are you ready to seize your divine moment?
Often when we think of following Jesus and taking hold of our divine moment, we don't recognize the suffering we must face to embrace God's work in us.
Focusing on the life of Peter in Matthew 16, Pastor Erwin points out how Peter struggled with the reality that Jesus would have to suffer deeply to fulfill his calling.
The crucifixion is a central piece of our faith, reminding us that there is no life without death.
Peter became the first church leader, bringing powerful transformation to many lives -- but only after his pride was put to death.
Peter’s suffering became the passageway to his future.

The new
In reflection of building Mosaic for the past 30 years, Mosaic Lead
Pastor Erwin McManus dives into the core mission we have as a community
of faith as we look forward to the next 30 years -- to continually step
into the unknown as we discover the new that God has for us.
Pastor Erwin builds his message on a scripture in Isaiah 43 where God
compels the Isrealites to stop dwelling on what happened in the past and
instead look forward to perceive the new thing that God was up to. He
reminds us that often we think we want the new but in reality, embracing
the new means everything we know will be shaken up.
When Pastor Erwin and Kim moved to Los Angeles 30 years ago to build
Mosaic, they left all uncertainty to follow a vision they had for a new
kind of church in LA -- one that was built for those who have yet to
know Jesus for themselves.
Often we look to God to give us all of the steps when we ask for the
new. But Pastor Erwin reminds us that God brings us into the new by
asking us to embrace the unknown. He gives us the 'why' but not always
the 'how.' As God transforms us from the inside out, we become new and
bring that to the world around us.
Are you ready to embrace the new thing God wants to do in your life?

A Place Called Sent - Beautiful One || From The Archives
In the 4th part of the Beautiful One series, Pastor Erwin McManus emphasizes the power of having a desperate faith.
Pulling from Matthew chapter 15, Jesus encounters a Cannanite woman who is rejected and seen as an outcast in that cultural time period. She comes to him begging that he would heal her daughter who is demon possessed -- but his disciples try to send her away.
Testing her, Jesus responds with the cultural narrative that was circling her situation, halling her a dog and saying "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
But she remained steadfast in asking Jesus, not letting the all-too-familiar humiliation stop her from asking for her miracle.
Jesus then responds to her humility saying "you have great faith" and heals her daughter.
If you are ready to push past the narratives that have kept you from Jesus and desperately seek his movement in your life, don't miss this life-changing episode!

Unveiling Beauty - Beautiful One || From The Archives
We are going back into the archives and resurfacing with Pastor Erwin's series on The Beautiful One. This episode revolves around re-discovering the elegance and splendor embedded in the fabric of existence through acknowledging human experiences as both complex and multi-layered. Pastor Erwin highlights the inherent potential for transformative beauty latent within these intricate dimensions of reality.
Through a thoughtful examination of elements such as minimalism, abstraction, and juxtaposition, Pastor Erwin encourages audiences to consider the role of ambiguity and imperfection in creativity and self-expression. Subsequently, a brief consideration of perception and memory illuminates the subjective nature of individual experience and perception, implying the potential for alternative interpretations, including ones imbued with sacred significance. Ultimately, Pastor Erwin stresses the critical role of fostering environments conducive to positive social change via meaningful relationships sustained across cultural divides.

Set Your Past On Fire - The Last Arrow || From The Archives
Have you set your past on fire? In this new message pulled from 1 Kings 19, Pastor Erwin McManus challenges us to move toward the life God has designed for us.
In 1 Kings 19, Elisha's life is interrupted by Eljiah as he is called to step into a new life away from the comfort of his family and home. As Elisha was plowing his field and living in the comfort of his success, he left everything behind to serve king Elijah.
Pastor Erwin reminds us that often our past becomes our anchor when God wants it to become an altar. And though many of us feel as though our past failures are most difficult to move past, we're reminded that it is more difficult to leave success behind when God is calling us forward toward a life of risk .
We cannot step into the future God has for us unless we are willing to light a match to it and let God build a new future from the ashes.
As we move with God, we are challenged to give up our plan B and move toward a life that is beyond our imagination.
Are you ready to let go of the past and move into the power of the future God has for you?
This message is inspired by The Last Arrow, Erwin Raphael McManus' book that calls us to save nothing for the next life.

Life Comes Out of Death
On Easter Sunday, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus brought a riveting message on Jesus' ability to bring life out of death. This transforming message is now available for you to watch!
Have you ever felt as though you lack the capacity to handle the challenges that life throws at you?
Pastor Erwin points out that as children, we are consistently reminded of our smallness and inadequacy. We struggle to feel as though we were built to scale for the largeness of the world around us.
Though we grow in size, we never outgrow this question: "Am I big enough to deal with the reality of being alive?" Pastor Erwin reminds us that our biggest struggles come from the sobering reality of our temporary nature.
In Luke 24, Jesus' followers look for him in the tomb but are surprised to find that he has been raised from the dead. Jesus faced death head-on and miraculously experienced a resurrection.
This message reminds us that when we stop trying to escape our temporary nature and embrace the death of the life we have without Jesus, only then can we can fully experience the life he freely offers us.
Are you ready to move from death to life and experience the power of Jesus' resurrection in your life? Tune into this message now!

A Story That Won’t Die
As we continue the 33 AD series, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus calls us to live out a story that will carry on long after we're gone.
In John chapter 12, we get a glimpse into a beautiful moment. Jesus' friends had planned a dinner in his honor, one of them being Lazarus, who Jesus had recently raised from the dead.
In the scriptures it says, "The chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well (as Jesus), for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in him."
Though the dinner was in celebration of Jesus, Lazarus' story was undeniably the centerpoint of the occasion, and it was his miracle that drew others closer to Jesus.
Pastor Erwin invites us to live such compelling lives that even those who don't know Jesus for themselves would be drawn to us because of his work in our lives.
If you are longing to live out a story that pulls others closer to the life of Jesus, lean into this powerful new message!

Life is Calling
This week in the 33 AD series, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus walks us through a powerful passage in the Gospel of John about a man named Lazarus.
Lazarus was a dear friend of Jesus and fell very ill. Jesus received the news of his sickness but stayed in another town for two days before he went to see Lazarus. In that short time, Lazarus died. When Jesus reached Lazarus’ home town, Lazarus’ sister Mary greeted him with reproach. She told him, "If you had been here, my brother would not have died."
She knew he had the power to heal Lazarus, but believed he delayed his arrival on purpose and it cost her brother his life. She had faith in the power of Jesus, but not his character.
When Jesus found out that Lazarus had died, the Scriptures say that ‘He wept.’ In this moment, we see the heart of Jesus on display as he took the time to embrace the painful loss of someone he loved deeply.
Then the story takes a miraculous turn as Jesus goes to Judea and heals Lazarus, raising him from the dead.
Pastor Erwin shares that we are either running from pain or running to life.
When we run away from our pain, we can miss the life that Jesus wants to bring through our pain.
Tune into this powerful message and be reminded that life is calling you, even in your darkest moments.

Voice Activated
Pastor Erwin McManus shares valuable truths on hearing God’s voice in this dynamic continuation of the 33 AD series.
Pastor Erwin uses a story of the relationship between a good shepherd and his sheep from the Gospel of John to illustrate how we can silence or amplify the voice of God in our lives. God did not design us to hear him as an external, disembodied voice. God designed us for intimate relationship with him so we would hear him from the internal depths of who we are.
Jesus longs for us to trust him and follow his voice just as sheep follow their shepherd, but for us to do this we must be tuned into the frequency of his voice.
There is often a battle between different voices in our head. Dark and negative thoughts carry heavier weight than the positive thoughts that would bring us life. Pastor Erwin emphasizes that it is our responsibility to actively choose the voice that leads us toward hope, faith, and beauty.
Tune into this message and be encouraged as you learn to hear God’s voice and follow it this week!

The Meaning In The Mess
Pastor Erwin McManus continues our powerful 33 AD series with a new message from the Gospel of John.
We often want God to fix our problems before we step into our future, but Pastor Erwin shows us how God desires to heal us as we go.
When Jesus encountered a blind man who wanted his sight restored, he spit in the dirt, created mud, and put it on the blind man's eyes.
Jesus then commanded him to ‘go wash in the Pool of Siloam, ‘ and the man walked to his healing with the mud on his eyes. The instant he washed in the pool he miraculously gained sight.
In every step of his healing, Jesus created meaning where others may have only seen a mess.
Are you looking for meaning in your mess? Are you ready to receive the healing Jesus offers?

A Line In The Sand
Have you ever been caught in your worst moment?
This week Pastor Erwin McManus continues our series in the book of John with a fresh understanding of what God sees when we are at our lowest moment.
We enter into the story of an adulterous woman who was dragged naked into the public, surrounded and accused by the religious elite of the day. These Pharisees told Jesus that according to the law, the woman should be stoned for her actions.
But Jesus changed the conversation entirely. He turned to the Pharisees and said, "Let the one who has never sinned cast the first stone." Then, Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground, effectively drawing a line in the sand. One by one, the Pharisees dropped their stones and walked away.
With this one action, Jesus silenced the voice of condemnation in the woman’s life.
We are not defined by our lowest moments because God is always speaking hope over us.
Even at your worst, God sees you at your best.
Tune into this incredible message to learn how God draws a line in the sand to show you that he sees a future filled with hope for you!

Save Nothing For The Next Life - The Last Arrow | From The Archives
What are you saving for the next life? In this powerful message based on Philippians 3, Pastor Erwin compels us to live a life without regret.
He examines the life of Paul, sharing that he had every reason to hold onto his reputation, possessions, and personal aspirations.
Paul was a man of great power when he decided to follow Jesus. But he came to the conclusion that there was nothing worth giving his life to when he compared his other pursuits to a life of following Jesus.
Pastor Erwin challenges us to consider that we do not live in regret because of one bad choice, but because of many small incremental choices that lead us away from the life Jesus called us to. The pursuit of lesser things will always leave us empty when Jesus is not our primary pursuit.
Tune into this powerful message and be reminded that the pursuit of Jesus beckons you to save nothing for the next life!

Mind The Gap
Do you know Jesus wants to meet you right where you are?
Pastor Erwin McManus shares from the Gospel of John, where Jesus encounters a man who has been paralyzed for 38 years. The man was waiting to be carried into the pool of Bethesda after the waters were stirred to receive the miracle of healing he desperately wanted.
Jesus sees his desperation and first asks the man a simple question: “Do you want to get well?”
The paralyzed man replies by explaining that he needs to get in the water first to be healed.
The paralytic man was standing in front of the God who had the ability to heal him in a moment. But he was convinced that the pool had the power to work a miracle for him instead.
The paralytic man thought he had to get ‘there’ when Jesus wanted to meet him ‘here.’
This message is a powerful reminder that God came to meet us right where we are, without religious structures or hurdles to get to Him.
What have you convinced yourself that you need to do before you can come to Jesus and be transformed?
Tune into this message and experience the power of a God who broke down every barrier to get to you.

The Outsiders
Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a compelling new message on God's love for the outsider.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus interacted with a Samaritan woman at a well and asked her for a drink of water. This was a noteworthy conversation because Samaritans and Jews did not associate with one another at this time in history.
This story is a poignant illustration of how Jesus is willing to subvert the cultural norm to reach the outsider.
The woman went to the well at noon by herself, during the hottest time of day, because she was culturally ostracized. That recurring walk to the well was a reminder to her that she was unseen, unloved, and rejected.
Through her talk with Jesus, she is reminded that God not only sees her but will go out of his way to connect and be seen with her.
If you've been burned by religion and have struggled to see yourself as an ‘insider,’ let this message encourage you that God is always fighting for the outsider to know his love.

Question Everything
Pastor Erwin McManus shares a moving message on the importance of questioning everything as we relate to the person of Jesus.
In the gospel of John, a religious Pharisee named Nicodemus interacts with Jesus. Nicodemus met with Jesus at night to protect his reputation as a religious expert. Though he had been studying the Torah for years, Nicodemus didn’t have a personal relationship with God.
Through their conversation, Jesus desired to change Nicodemus' direction, dimension, and intention - and Jesus wants these areas to change in our lives as well!
Jesus wants to move our direction toward the kingdom of God.
Jesus wants to move us from focusing on what is visible to us now and learn to see into the dimension of the unseen.
Jesus wants our intention to be focused on God’s will for our lives so we can discover the fullness of life God offers us!
When you encounter Jesus, you begin to question everything about the way you live. Are you ready to change your direction, dimension, and intention?

Have you moved past the point of no return?
In this compelling message, Pastor Erwin McManus teaches from Joshua chapter 1 and unpacks the journey of Joshua after the death of Moses.
God speaks to Joshua and commands him to get moving and promises him that he will give Joshua every piece of land that his feet touch. In this critical moment, Joshua had to step into leadership and move past the point of no return -- past the victories of Moses and into his own land of promise.
Often, we believe that people's success is based only on their gifts or talents. But in this message, we are encouraged by Joshua's story that our impact is based on our courage to walk into the territory God has promised us.

The First and Final Word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 NIV
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus leads us into the powerful origin story of Jesus through the book of John.
The beginning of Jesus’ story starts long before his birth in a manger as a human baby sent into the world. John makes clear that Jesus is God and he was here before anything else in the universe began.
Have you considered that your life without Jesus is a sentence with a missing word?
Pastor Erwin sets a challenge for the new year for all followers of Jesus to be dissatisfied living only with his principles, and to find ultimate satisfaction in his person.
The principles of Jesus will change your life but only the person of Jesus will change you. Attempting to live out his principles without his person will weigh too heavy; only with a dynamic, intimate relationship with Jesus can your life truly be transformed by him.
From the beginning of time, Jesus created everything to be leveraged in your favor. His presence is evident in creation through the beauty we see, the food that nourishes us, and in the spirit of God.
Jesus wants to be recognized as the first and final word in your story.

I'm Not Finished Yet - The Last Arrow | From The Archives
Are you calling it quits before God says you're finished?
In this challenging new message, Pastor Erwin McManus helps us see that often when we experience regret and disappointment, it is simply because we quit and called it a failure instead of choosing to persevere when things got difficult.
Based on the story of Caleb in the book of Joshua, we learn that even in his advanced age Caleb was ready to take on new battles when others wanted comfort and ease. He had a unique perspective, always believing that the best was ahead of him.

In this special Christmas message, Pastor Erwin McManus brings a fresh lens to a familiar Christmas story.
Drawing from Matthew 2, Pastor Erwin unpacks the unique narrative of the Magi being the ones to meet Jesus.
Even though the Jews were the people who long held the story of God, it was ultimately the Magi who encountered Jesus upon his birth.
Pastor Erwin illustrates how this story reveals the character of God. God always sends signs to people who are desperate to find him.
No matter your background, your past, how far away you are - God will show up when you seek him out.
If you never need God, you won’t see the signs. But if you know that you need God, you’ll be amazed at how much God reveals himself in your life.

Signs
Have you ever asked God for a sign?
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus calls us to notice the signs of God all around us.
The book of Isaiah shares how God sent Jesus as a sign to humanity through a virgin birth. It was a miraculous point in history that still ripples through our lives over 2,000 years later.
Pastor Erwin highlights that often when we ask God for a sign, we are looking for confirmation to do what we consider comfortable and convenient. But when God speaks to us, he always challenges us to pursue extraordinary lives that cannot be explained without God’s involvement.
Jesus’ life is a reminder that God already sent the biggest sign of His love for us. Now, we have the opportunity to be a sign of love to the world around us.
If you’ve been looking for signs of God’s activity in your life, this message will give you eyes to see them clearly!

The Audacity of God
In this new message, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus reveals the audacity of God to do the impossible in our lives.
Through the life of Zechariah and Elizabeth in the book of Luke, Pastor Erwin unwraps what it looks like when God begins to go to work in us.
Zechariah and Elizabeth were childless and advanced in age, but an angel appeared to Zechariah and told him that Elizabeth would give birth to a son. When Zechariah expressed his doubt in God’s ability to do this miracle, God took away his ability to speak until his son had been born and he could doubt no longer.
Have you ever doubted that God could do the impossible?
Pastor Erwin challenges us to evaluate how often we believe God can move in the lives of those around us, but exclude ourselves from receiving the miracle we desperately need.
Be encouraged that God knows the date and time of your future miracle coming to pass – you just have to be willing to step out in faith and receive it.
Get ready to move from doubt to an audacious faith!

The Economy of God
What fuels the economy of God?
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus reveals the power of work, responsibility and trust in this impactful message.
Through the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, Pastor Erwin unwraps biblical truths that can change how we create and shape our lives.
Many followers of Jesus believe they want to know God‘s will for their lives so they can be faithful.
In reality, we can often spend our lives seeking out God’s will so we don’t have to be responsible for taking ownership of the talent, skill and intellect God has given us.
Pastor Erwin shares that when we are immature in our faith, our conversation with God centers around if God can be trusted. When we mature in our faith, we realize the conversation has always been about if we can be trusted.
If you’re ready to live a life that reflects the character of Jesus, this message is for you!

Masterpiece - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
As we wrap up this series on the Artisan Soul, Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a passionate message on Masterpiece God gave us called life.
Throughout Jesus' life, he told parables, metaphors and images to show his disciples that he was going to die. But they could only interpret death in the terms they knew, which were finite.
Jesus reminds us that our life is supposed to be a work of art and his canvas is the human spirit.
Jesus life was a walking art installation of Life. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he said to him I am the life. There’s nothing to fear in death. There’s nothing to fear in life. The only proof of life after death, is life before death and what we really long for is life before death.

Foundation Sunday
The church is a movement, not an institution.
In this electric message for Mosaic’s Foundation Sunday, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus unpacks how movements are marked by generosity.
Former slaves in the book of Exodus were instructed to stop bringing gifts to build a new sanctuary because the workers were overwhelmed with the amount of offerings.
They had internalized a priceless insight: we should bring gifts to God in proportion to the way he has blessed us.
Their freedom compelled them to give.
Are we, people whose lives have been changed by the freedom of Jesus, just as compelled to give?
Pastor Erwin challenges us that God harnesses the power of the willing to bring the mission of Jesus to the world.

As creatives, we often become discouraged by the limitations of our contracts, resources, and abilities. But if God himself is hopeful about the possibilities of human life -- His chosen canvas -- how much more must we take advantage of the canvas we've each been entrusted with.
Whether we are nurses, teachers, or writers, we have the opportunity to bring an abundance of life through our personal brushstrokes on life's canvas.

Alignment
Is your soul filled with:
Fear?
Doubt?
Insignificance?
Feeling unworthy of love?
We can label these symptoms as sociological, economical or cultural – but Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin reveals they are actually indicators that our soul is out of alignment with God.
Many of the stories in the Bible are about people who are out of alignment; their struggles and successes provide a blueprint for us to learn from their mistakes.
From Acts 7:29, Pastor Erwin unwraps the story of Moses to illustrate what a life out of alignment looks like – and how we can mirror Moses’ journey to realign ourselves with God.
We must let our brokenness be seen with transparency, take on God’s character as we move in his intention, and learn to see the pain of those around us. Above all, we must recognize that we will be out of alignment until we step into our God-given assignment.

The Power Of Being Fully Present
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus brings a new message on ‘The Power of Being Fully Present,’ recorded live at Mosaic South Pasadena.
Do you find yourself caught reminiscing on the past or daydreaming about the future while the moment you are in passes you by?
Pastor Erwin challenges us to master the power of being fully present.
Drawing from Isaiah 43, Pastor Erwin uses the example of the Israelites to show what happens when God wants to move with strength in the present while His people are stuck in the past or anxious about the future.
God is always ushering in the new. Pastor Erwin reminds us to not grow discouraged when we don’t see His movement in our lives; often we are just looking for Him in the wrong place.
To harness the power of being fully present, you must put your past in the past, fight the fight you are in, and trust God to see what you cannot see.
Your past, whether beautiful or painful, cannot thrive in the future. Your future cannot be experienced today, so why waste your life in fear, anxiety, or dissatisfaction with your present?

Craft - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a challenging message on the importance of developing our craft.
In Ephesians 4, God commands us to be creators and not to settle for consuming or stealing from others. Because we are created by God, we're meant to create and add value to the world around us through the discipline of work.
As Christians, many of us have picked up the belief that if we have been called by God to do something, it should come naturally to us. On the contrary, Erwin reminds us that it is up to us to turn our talent into greatness through hard work.
If you've been waiting for a moment of magic to transform your talent into greatness, be encouraged that you don't have to wait for magic -- you can start to build the momentum you long for today.

Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus closes out our Fresh Start series with an inspiring message on how you can live “Fueled by Faith!”
Why does faith feel superhuman?
Pastor Erwin reminds us that we were created by God to live with faith and that it is faith that makes us human. We are the only species that is made to hope in things we cannot yet see.
In fact, Hebrews chapter 11 makes it clear that living a life without faith makes it impossible to please God. Pastor Erwin challenges us to live a life pursuing an invisible future we cannot yet see, instead of settling for the safety and predictability of what we have today.
We must let go of what we have to take hold of what we hope for!

Voice Makers of Fire - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
In this week’s episode, Pastor Erwin McManus points out the fascinating way that God inhabits our lives — whether we’ve already given our lives to Him or not.
In a conversation with a self-identified atheist, Erwin was asked how to hear the voice of God. He answered that it’s the voice in your head that simply won’t leave you alone. And even more, when we’ve given our lives to God, that voice becomes the continual invitation to an expansive life that is full of imagination.
We’re compelled to ask ourselves if we are engaging the creative power that God has given us to make the invisible visible. Are we engaging the ideas God keeps reminding us to pursue, or are we living small lives that are filled with fear?
If you’ve been waiting for a green light when it comes to engaging your God-given dreams and imagination, this is it.

Fresh Start: From Sand To Fire
Do you only encounter God by interruption and not intention? You need a fresh start!
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus shares a powerful message on realigning our intention with God to step into the future we were created to live, in week two of our ‘Fresh Start’ series!
Pastor Erwin shares with us the story of Moses from Acts 7. Moses was intended by God to be a champion of the Jewish people, who were enslaved in Egypt. Moses was Jewish, and had been adopted and raised as Pharoah’s son, where he then wasted the first 40 years of his life in entitlement. After murdering an Egyptian man, Moses fled to the desert, where he spent another 40 years as an anonymous shepherd.
Moses was living outside his intention, and God interrupted his life with an angel who spoke to Moses through a burning bush. Moses was instructed to return to Egypt and deliver the Jewish people to freedom from Pharoah. God had heard the cries of his people and wanted them to be set free.
Moses went from standing on sand to walking on holy ground. God asked Moses to take off his sandals, not to honor God, but to realign Moses to God’s intention. God gave Moses a fresh start to see what God sees, hear what God hears, and care what God cares about: his people.
Your fresh start isn’t just for you! It’s for others.
If you’ve been hiding as a shepherd when you should be a king, this is your chance to step into the fresh start God offers you!

Fresh Start
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus delivered the first incredible message in Mosaic’s new series ‘Fresh Start’
Drawing from Isaiah 43:15, Pastor Erwin gives you three specific ways that you can step into a new part of your life: Put your past in the past, fight the fight you’re in, and see what you do not see.
Although you are meant to learn from the past, you are not created to live in the past. The biggest things that hold you in the past are bitterness and regret. Bitterness requires that you forgive someone else, while regret requires that you forgive yourself. To step into a fresh start, you must find the courage to forgive those who have hurt you and find the courage to forgive yourself when you hurt others.
When you wait on God, it can oftentimes look a lot like doing nothing. Most likely God is waiting on you. Fight the fight you’re in as you keep your eyes alert to what God is doing around you. God is already creating the future, you just need fresh eyes to see the new thing he’s building!
Pastor Erwin presents this challenge: Your fresh start is not going to come to you. It needs to come through you.
If you’re ready to embark on a fresh start for your life, this message is for you!

Voice Interpreters of Life - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
In a thought-provoking message from Pastor Erwin McManus, we discover that each of us are interpreters of life. Based on our unique experiences and beliefs, we translate the world around us. But are we interpreting life according to God's perception--or just our limited perspective?
In John chapter 9, we observe that Jesus' disciples were bewildered by the healing of a blind man. They were stuck on the reasoning for his blindness. Had he sinned, or was he dealing with the consequence of his parents' sins? Then, the blind man's community continued to question his healing and if it was truly him that was healed.
Pastor Erwin points out that all of the facts were clear: the man was blind before and now he could see. And though the blind man's experience spoke for itself, his healing disrupted everything the onlookers believed about God's ability to heal--and even more, his ability to heal on the Sabbath.
If your interpretation of life has always led you to doubt God's nature, this message will encourage you to open your eyes to the miraculous that is working in and around you.

Voice Who Told You Were Naked - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
Is it possible for us to live a life free from shame?
In a powerful new message, Pastor Erwin McManus challenges us to pay attention to the voices that inform our internal worlds. Are we led by voices that only remind us of our shame, or are we building a future informed by the freedom of God's voice?
In Genesis 3, we lean into the story of Adam and Eve where they decide to disobey God and hide their nakedness from him. Erwin points out that God asks Adam "Who told you that you were naked?" God wanted to get to the bottom of the matter; who informed his decision to run away and hide?
If you are ready to invite God's voice to take precedence in your life, this message will provide you with a pathway to turn the volume down on shame and give God the room he has always wanted to speak into you.

A Manifesto of Human Creativity - Artisan Soul | From The Archives
Erwin McManus brings us into a conversation on the unique design of the human soul. Compared to every other creature, we are the only ones that manifest the invisible into something tangible. We are created to create and imagined by God to imagine what does not yet exist.
From Exodus chapter 2, Erwin points out that Moses was said to be no ordinary child. As he ponders this phrase, he shares that many of us feel as though we are ordinary. And though we may see others living unordinary lives--we believe that it is simply something we're not cut out for.
But Erwin challenges us to think differently. What if none of us are ordinary? What if God designed us from the start to live extraordinary lives? Isn't it proof enough that no other creature wonders how they can change the mundane nature of their existence? Only humans wonder if there is more for us. What if God put that desire into the design of our human souls?

Marking Time
How does God mark time?
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus reveals that although humans mark time through seasons, years, or the clocks on our phones, God marks time through people.
Through the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis, Pastor Erwin shows how God shaped Joseph’s life through the people he met. The trajectory of Joseph’s life was marked by how he hurt or helped those around him. As evident in the story of Joseph, who went from being a slave to becoming a powerful ruler, God can use anyone to leave a lasting mark on history.
Pastor Erwin challenges you to be someone God can trust, so He can mark history through you wherever you go.
Are you ready to leave your mark on history? It begins with God putting His mark on you.

In Ecclesiastes chapter 9, a man named Solomon points out a man who was poor but saved a city with his wisdom. Pastor Erwin reminds us that we often ask for resources when God wants to give us vision.

In this message, Erwin Raphael McManus shares that if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by life and can’t seem to find your way through, then you’ve known the need for enlightenment
.The Quest for Enlightenment begins with the need for wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to connect the dots, to foresee the future. Imagine if you had the ability today to make the choices that would create the future you long for?
Two people can go through the same trauma and have radically different experiences. One can emerge broken and fragile, while the other emerges stronger and more resilient. The key is perseverance founded in faithfulness, which is where wisdom begins.
Erwin shares that the journey of faithfulness is one you cannot take alone - it requires a community. We all fail, we all fall, we all stumble; but you need someone with you on the journey to help pick you up!

Generosity - Uprising | From The Archives
This message finishes the Quest for Nobility in the popular Uprising series.
In this message, Erwin Raphael McManus reminds us that great dreams demand great courage. You will not live a life commiserate to your dreams, talent, or ability - but equal to your level of courage.
With nobility, you can be trusted with wealth, influence, and the lives of others. It begins in gratitude and finds completeness in generosity. Generous people are happier people who make the world better, while greedy people only focus on what they can take rather what they can give.
Erwin reveals that despite what you can offer the world, becoming a generous person will end up being immeasurably more valuable for you as a human being than for anyone your generosity may affect.
He leaves us with this question: what’s the sacrifice you need to make that will make the world more beautiful?

Integrity - Uprising | From The Archives
Did you know that courage is not the absence of fear, but the absence of self?
Courage begins with integrity; without integrity we will not find within us the resolve or the resilience to face the pressures of life.
To have integrity is to be whole and be complete - to have nothing within you that is not true to the character you possess. Everything in your life depends on integrity to function. For example, a plane you fly in across the country must have integrity in its composition to survive the flight - nothing in it that would compromise its ability to fly. In this same vein, humanity must have integrity to live lives that are not faultless, but false-less.This message shows us that to pursue a life of truth and oneness with Jesus requires the pursuit of integrity. If you want to live a life of integrity and face your life with courage, this message is for you!

The Power of Words
Have you experienced the lasting impact that words can have on your life? In Lead Pastor Erwin McManus’ new message “The Power of Words,” he explores the unique power of language and how God harnesses it to create life.
From the very beginning in Genesis chapter 1, God uses language to create light and life out of nothing. He creates, he blesses, and proceeds to call His creation, “Good.” Here, we learn that God always creates what is good, beautiful, and true. In contrast, the voice of darkness enters the script in Genesis chapter 3.
The voice of doubt is introduced as a snake speaks to Eve and contradicts God’s voice. This voice always tears man, God, and creation apart from one another. Pastor Erwin reminds us that our soul is in the wrong conversation when we’re not in a conversation with the one who created us.
Pastor Erwin encourages us that even if we feel as though we’ve lost touch with the frequency of God’s voice, we can always tune back into it when we decide to listen for it again. Our lives are either shaped by the words of darkness or the words of light and God is longing to illuminate our lives with light when we give his voice precedence.
If you've lost touch with God's voice in your life, this message will help you reconnect with the only voice that can shape your life into something beautiful, good, and true.

Eternal
In Lead Pastor Erwin McManus’ captivating Easter message “Eternal,” he brings us into the monumental moment when time and eternity collided as Jesus died on the cross.
In Matthew chapter 27, a wide array of astonishing events come to pass at the moment of Jesus’ death. Not only did the veil in the Jewish temple tear in two, but bodies were raised from their graves and began to walk around the city.
Moments before Jesus died, he cried out to God, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Pastor Erwin highlights that God wanted us to know that Jesus could relate to the darkest moments in our story because of what he endured on the cross. But what do we make of the supernatural occurrences after Jesus’ death?
Pastor Erwin compares the moment of Jesus' death to a black hole colliding with a white hole; the totality of light consuming all darkness. The veil being torn represented the ripping apart of the separation between God and man. The walking dead show us that our eternal bodies are only graves waiting to be resurrected to life through Jesus.
If you’ve wrestled with feeling empty or searching for an answer to your soul’s longing for life, this message will invite you to surrender your life to Jesus - the only one who can raise you out of the darkness.

The Living | From The Archives
For Easter Sunday, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus brings us into a powerful conversation on the life of Jesus and his desire to wrestle us free from the things that are stealing life from us.In Luke chapter 24 we learn that two women ran to Jesus' tomb after he had resurrected, searching for his body. They were met by two men that were beaming with light. The women were asked "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?" Pastor Erwin emphasizes that cemeteries are the most predictable place in the world. But Jesus was an outlier to monotonous this narrative. Many of us ask God for a lot of things while neglecting to ask for the one thing that could change everything. We ask for a house, a car, or a spouse. Meanwhile, Jesus desires to give us life from the inside-out, not just decorations for our bodies. Similar to the angels asking the two women at Jesus' tomb what they were looking for, Jesus asks us the same question.Pastor Erwin shares that Jesus is consistently working to bring us to a crossroads in our lives-choosing between life or death. Often, we think we either have to choose between life or death and then add God to the equation. But Pastor Erwin states that the words "life" and "God" are synonymous, just like the word death is synonymous with a life absent of God's presence. Death looks like jealousy, greed, and violence ruling our lives. Life is the existence God wants us to experience when we live deeply connected to Jesus. If you've been living a life that is decorated with things but absent of true life, this message will empower you to leave death behind and take Jesus at his word as he offers you abundant life.

Desert Rose | From The Archives
In this beautiful Good Friday message, Pastor Erwin McManus brings a fresh perspective to the power of the cross and the impact it can have on our personal lives. In John chapter 19, the story of Jesus' crucifixion and death is told from the perspective of John-one of Jesus' followers. Similar to Jesus hanging on the cross, Pastor Erwin points out that he is standing in a desert-a place of isolation, danger, and desperation. He says that often when we find ourselves in times of desperation and isolation, peace is the last emotion we decide to access. But John shows us that after Jesus declared "It is finished," he rested his head against the cross. For many of us, the past few years have stolen our peace. We have felt as though we are stuck in a hypothetical desert. But if Jesus could find rest in the midst of the darkest circumstances, surely he can give us the same peace wherever we find ourselves. And though it is tempting to perceive ourselves as victims, Jesus exemplifies what it means to live as a victor-even as he gave up his own life for us.Though Jesus only lived for 33 years, Pastor Erwin highlights that he lived out the fullness of his purpose in those short years. Just as he lived with intention even on the cross, Jesus invites us to live with the same intention. As Pastor Erwin looks over the sunset, he reflects on how a sunset can often look identical to a sunrise. In the same way, we may feel as though we are at the end of our story because of the dire circumstances around us. But just as the cross looked like the end, Jesus showed us that it was the start to a bright future. If you are desperate for peace in the midst of your circumstances, this message will give you the courage you need to reach out for Jesus, follow his lead by giving your life up to him, and choosing victory instead of victimhood.

Celebration of Life | From The Archives
Palm Sunday is the day Jesus’s followers celebrated his victory before he entered the battle that would define human history. Out of John chapter 12, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus illuminates this remarkable moment in Jesus’s life and legacy like never. No one celebrating in the streets of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday could have known the magnitude of the victory that was yet to be won. At the intersection of the scriptures and present day, Pastor Erwin reveals that God wants us to anticipate the victory Jesus has for us before we can see it for ourselves.
In this week's challenging new message from Lead Pastor Erwin McManus, we are invited to embark on a journey through the most important questions we must ask ourselves. Pastor Erwin points out that though we may have many questions for Jesus, the questions that will ultimately bring us transformation are the ones that Jesus asks us.
Throughout the scriptures, Jesus’s question asks questions that cut to the core of people. In Matthew 16, he asks Peter, "Who do you say that I am?" Pastor Erwin explains that the choices we make in every arena of our lives reflects who we really believe Jesus to be.
In John 1 and Luke 18, Jesus asks his followers, "What do you want?" and, "What do you want me to do for you?" Though we may assume that God should tell us what to want, Jesus turns the question on us and challenges us to be honest with God about what we want Him to do in and through our lives.
Lastly, Jesus asks his followers in John 6: “Will you leave me, also?" Pastor Erwin reveals that when we first give our lives to Jesus, we are usually surrendering our most broken parts to him. But the true test of our commitment comes when God asks for all of us - not just pieces of us.
If you've been on a journey of questioning Jesus, this message will help you navigate the most essential questions that Jesus asks of you. These questions will deepen your connection with Jesus and give essential direction to your life.

It's All In You
"Jesus is taking us from a conversation of ‘good and bad’ to ‘old and new.’"
- Erwin McManus
God has created each of us to be able to fulfill the calling he’s placed on our lives! We must rediscover and realign our posture from ‘I need to receive what I need’ to ‘I need to unleash what I have.’
Be encouraged that God wants to take you on a journey - he doesn’t give you a map so you can’t travel without him. The only one who can make you who you were created to be is the God who created you.

Fit For Life
Lead Pastor Erwin McManus shares an empowering new message that gives us insight into how God orchestrates our calling in our lives. Though it is common to assume that the calling God gives us will fit like a glove, Pastor Erwin challenges this notion. Instead of fitting us perfectly, God’s calling is always bigger than us and requires that we lean into His power to step into it fully.
In 2 Thessalonians chapter 1, we read that God is the one who makes us fit for the calling He gives us. But there are times when we take on the calling others have placed on us instead of God’s. These callings don’t fit the unique plans that God has for us and they leave us unfulfilled, living below our intended purpose.
When we chase after the calling God has for us, He works miracles as we take action. And though our friends and family may not see the way forward to the calling God has given us, we must take responsibility for it and trust God in the process. God always gives a calling that is bigger than us and at the same time, He is always the one that makes us fit for it.
Have you been wondering how to take hold of the unique calling God has on your life? This message will give you the courage to step into your calling as you trust that God will make you fit for it.

Deep Mind | From The Archives
“[Knowing] the deep mind of God does not come from information or education - it only comes through intimacy.’
- Erwin McManus
The deep mind of God can only be known through a relationship with Him. This message from Erwin Raphael McManus speaks to our desire to control the future, instead of create the future.
Most of us live in the shallows because we only live with the God we hear about and not the God we know. This message calls us to live with the mind of Christ; a life of endless faith and a borderless imagination.

This compelling message from Lead Pastor Erwin McManus reveals to us the price we must pay to live a life of greatness. Beyond our big dreams, do we have what it takes to live a life of greatness in the small details of our lives? Pastor Erwin gives us a roadmap to becoming someone that God can trust with a revolutionary dream.
In Genesis chapter 50, we learn about the life of Joseph. When he was young he was given a big dream to rule over his brothers, but the dream filled him with arrogance and pride. Over the next decade of his life, he grew in character and wisdom as he went through incredible trials including imprisonment and slavery. Through his life journey, Joseph chose to pursue a path of integrity. He determined within himself to serve the vision of those that surrounded him. Pastor Erwin emphasizes that the mark of true greatness is making others great around us. Joseph was eventually entrusted with delivering Egypt from a great famine and was given great honor as a leader.
If you’ve wondered how to accomplish your dreams and live a life of greatness, this message will remind you that greatness is always found in our capacity to impact those around us for good.

The Best Of: Find Your Strength
This week, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus compels us to lean into joy in a new way. Often when we are facing challenging times, joy is the last thing on our mind. But in this encouraging message from our ‘Best Of’ series, Pastor Erwin shares that God’s way of strengthening us when we’re struggling is through the power of celebration.
Teaching out of James chapter 1, Pastor Erwin highlights Jesus’ words which instruct us to rejoice when we face difficulties of all kinds. Why? Joy creates the character we need for the future God wants to create through us! Though challenges feel frustrating in the moment, we’re reminded that God is building us beautifully from the inside out. That is worth celebrating!
Pastor Erwin asks us how often we question why God’s promises haven’t come true in our lives. He proposes that it may be God that is asking us why we haven’t overcome our doubts when God has continually shown himself to be faithful.
If you have been facing a difficult season and are wondering where God is, this message will encourage you that God is strengthening you with his joy in the middle of the challenge!

The Best Of: Expand Your Capacity
In this inspiring message, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus challenges us to see our capacity with new eyes. Many of us struggle with feeling as though we’ve been shortchanged with the set of talents we’ve been given and it may seem as though we don’t have what it takes to create the life we desire. But Pastor Erwin proposes a different perspective. Is it possible that what we have in our hands is exactly what God wants to use to expand our capacity?
In Matthew chapter 15, Jesus and his disciples are surrounded by thousands of hungry people with no way to feed them. After the disciples suggest that the crowd should be turned away, Jesus instead invites the disciples into a moment where their capacity is expanded and their perspective shifts. Jesus asks the disciples to gather the food the crowd does have, and after Jesus prays, the disciples are left with more than enough provision to feed the entire crowd.
In this story, Jesus clearly showed the disciples that they had all of the resources they needed. Pastor Erwin challenges us by asking how often we push away the resources that God wants to use in our lives because we don’t believe they’re enough. Pastor Erwin encourages us to expand our capacity by utilizing the gifts we do have in partnership with Jesus. When we give God what is in our hands, it always turns out to be enough. If you have been focusing on what you lack instead of the abundance you have been given, this message will encourage you to see that what you have in your hands is always enough for God!

The Best Of: Find Your Edge
In this week’s message, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus helps us to move away from the idea that success is a bad word. As those who follow Jesus, we have the responsibility to maximize the gifts that God has given us. Growing up, we may have been taught that it was selfish to desire success. Contrary to this idea, Pastor Erwin invites us to discover what the scriptures say about success.
From Ecclesiastes 10:10, Pastor Erwin points out that the scriptures speak clearly about how sharp skill can bring success. But a skill is only sharpened when it is developed. Pastor Erwin encourages us that it is essential to do the hard work to get better at our skills. This requires the courage to fail and continue to improve over time.
Pastor Erwin shares that he previously led worship at Mosaic before eventually realizing that what he was gifted in was communication and that this was where God was asking him to develop his skillset. In the same way, he invites us to explore where we have a natural talent and to do the hard work to develop this skill instead of exhausting ourselves where we do not have natural talent. This sharpening of our edge will then be an open door of opportunity for others as we build something that matters.
If you are wondering what you should be spending your energy on, this message will guide you toward developing the God-given talent he has entrusted to you.

To Us
Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a message that helps us see the season of Christmas with a new sense of clarity. Out of Isaiah chapter 9, he shares that God did not send Jesus to satisfy his own ego and his needs. Every intention God had for sending his son Jesus to die on a cross was a gift for us!
Pastor Erwin shares that in the holiday season, many of us receive gifts that we either don’t like or didn’t know that we needed. And Jesus is the latter - the gift humanity desperately needed, but just didn’t know it yet.
Later in Isaiah chapter 9, it refers to the promised messiah as an, “everlasting father.” Pastor Erwin points out that many of us struggle to identify with God as a father because our culture can place a low value on fathers due to collective bad experiences. But Pastor Erwin encourages us that until we run to God as our father for our sense of identity, we will continue to run back to dysfunctional ‘fixes.’
Thought we long for quick fixes in our lives, Pastor Erwin shares that God is not interested in short-term solutions that lead to long-term dysfunction. The everlasting father is looking at our lives from an eternal perspective. What may seem like a tragedy in the moment to us is simply a small part of a greater story God is working together.
If you have been looking for a way to activate God’s gift of Jesus in your life in a tangible way during this Christmas season, this message is for you!

Who Are You Taking With You?
In this week’s insightful new message from Ecclesiastes, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus teaches us the power of choosing others instead of simply living for ourselves.
The passage focuses on the life of Solomon, who found that at the end of his time on Earth, the one thing more precious than wisdom or gold was relationship. Pastor Erwin shares that those who fail are not those who fall down, but those who fall down without having anyone there to pick them up because they never took the time to invest into building those relationships beforehand.
We move forward by moving together as a community. Solomon is a reminder in the scriptures that we can have everything and still have nothing when we live a life of isolation.
Pastor Erwin encourages us to be a people who choose to stick with the people God has placed in our lives. He reminds us as the church, that we were meant to walk through the battles of life together.
If you are someone who is waiting for community to come to you, this message will encourage you to instead seek out community!

The End of Fear

The Genius Of The Beautiful
Can beauty save the world? In this conclusion to ‘The Genius of Jesus’ series, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus leads us to discover how the beauty of God is reflected in everything he creates.
From the beauty of nature to the intricate textures of different foods, we see that God did not create with a singularly utilitarian perspective. God wove beauty in as an essential part of creation. Though some may struggle with the thought that a good God exists in a world full of tragedy, we see in Ecclesiastes 3 that God makes everything beautiful in its time.
The human story is this: God was the author of beauty, and we introduced tragedy into the human story. When we give God permission to enter into our story, we give him the ability to create something beautiful out of our lives - even our most broken pieces. God wants to give us a taste for what is truly beautiful. And this is a life that is fully surrendered to the genius of God’s beauty.
At the intersection of humanity’s greatest tragedy and God’s undeniable beauty, the cross became the ultimate expression of the genius of Jesus. Don’t miss this impactful and resonant message that will lead you into the genius that only Jesus can offer – the genius of being fully human again.

The Genius Of The True
In week four of our The Genius of Jesus series, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus answers the question of what real truth looks like, and how to find it in your life. Pastor Erwin explains that truth is essential for living a life that is trustworthy.
He shares that many of us have been confronted by someone who risked their relationship with us to tell us a hard truth. And though truth can be difficult to hear, he candidly shares that he hopes to never be someone that God thinks cannot handle the truth.
In a conversation between Jesus and Pontius Pilate in Matthew 27, Pilate asks Jesus "What is truth?" Jesus had shared with Pilate that his purpose in coming to the earth was to testify to the truth. In that moment, the essence of truth was looking right at Pilate; truth is not simply based on information, but on one person who is the source of all truth. That person is Jesus.

The Genius Of The Good
In week three of his Genius of Jesus series, Pastor Erwin McManus brings us an important message that redefines how we value what is good. Despite a cultural focus that focuses on doing what is ‘right’ over everything else, Pastor Erwin reminds us that Jesus was not concerned with doing what was most right, but what was most good.
Drawing from 1 Kings, Pastor Erwin brings us into a story of two women who were fighting over a child that they both claimed was their own. This story reveals the genius of the good, as Solomon wades through the confusion of one woman’s treachery and reaches the heart of the matter. He suggests cutting the baby in half for each mother to have a part; the true mother is revealed as she begs that the child be given to the other woman, ensuring it can stay alive.
Pastor Erwin shares that a church culture which is focused on sin, or never doing what is wrong, has missed a crucial point of the scriptures. He shares a lesson learned from personal experience that when he focused less on his bad habits and more on doing good, he ran out of time for the wrong things. He explains that doing good is always based on one’s essence and not their performance.
If you’ve been struggling to figure out what the next right thing is for your life, this message will compel you toward the good!

The Genius of Power
In an important new message from his ‘Genius of Jesus’ series, Pastor Erwin McManus compels us to see the purpose of power differently. Based on the principles Jesus presents in Matthew chapter 5, this message unpacks what it means to use power to sacrificially serve those around us.
Though human history is filled with examples of power being misused, Pastor Erwin emphasizes that Jesus radically shifted what it meant to live powerfully with his teachings. Jesus empowers us to live a life of service to others and never a life of obligation. When we live a life of intention, determined to live in the power of service to others - there’s simply nothing others can take from us that we’re not already willing to give away.
If you’ve been wondering how you can take control of your power to fuel your genius, this message is for you!

The Journey To Your Genius
Have you ever felt like you couldn’t find the uniqueness within you? In this insightful message based on his brand new book The Genius of Jesus: The Man Who Changed Everything, Pastor Erwin McManus helps us understand that we all carry a unique genius given to us by God.
In Luke chapter 2, Pastor Erwin points out that Jesus showed genius as a young boy. He was asking questions that left the scholars of the day astonished at his insight. Jesus showed signs of genius from a young age in his ability to see to the heart of people and lead them into being fully human again.
Pastor Erwin helps us understand that true genius is discovered when we become like children again, led by curiosity without the weight of shame and fear. Our truest selves emerge when we are trusting Jesus like children do. We were made for adventure and discovery. Our relationship with God enables us to unlock the purest form of genius inside of us when we are motivated by curiosity, wonder and a longing for adventure.
If you’ve wondered how to access the genius inside of you, this message will be a roadmap to help you discover it once again.

The New Mind: Mosaic Conference 2019
Have you ever considered that intellect and faith are not at odds with one another? What if God intended to draw us closer to Him through our minds? In this life-changing message from Mosaic Conference in 2019, Pastor Erwin McManus encourages us to lean into the power of intelligence instead of being afraid that it will draw us away from a life of faith.
Opening up the scriptures in Genesis, Pastor Erwin proposes that our capacity before the fall of man was infinite. For example, Adam was able to name and remember countless animals that God gave him authority over. Pastor Erwin wonders: Why do we have fantasies of being able to fly and have superpowers? Could it be that these fantasies are a shadow of the life we once lived - a life of incredible capacity?
From 2 Corinthians, Pastor Erwin emphasizes the beauty of our relationship with God, that we get to be connected to his thoughts. Our minds are where God wants to speak to us, imagine with us and create a new future through us. In our relationship to God, we have limitless potential.
If you’ve wondered how intellect fits into a life of faith, this message will encourage you to be unafraid in your pursuit of higher thinking.

The New Reality: Mosaic Conference 2019
Has life ever left you feeling like you are stuck in time and space? In his inspiring message from Mosaic Conference in 2019, Pastor Erwin McManus gives us a new understanding of what it means to live from our connection to eternity. He helps us see that we were never meant to live from the material of our old selves because God is constantly regenerating us into the new.
Based on Isaiah 55 and Ephesians chapter 1 & 2, Pastor Erwin points out that it wasn’t only Jesus that was raised from the dead and seated in eternity with God. In Ephesians 2, it states that we have been raised up with Jesus and seated in eternity as well. This means that though we live in time and space here on earth, we also exist from an eternal position.
Just as an artist is meticulous about the material used to create their masterpiece, God places material inside of us that is eternal. We are meant to create a beautiful masterpiece with our lives from our connection to the eternal life Jesus died to give us. We are eternal beings living in time and space.
If your life has felt mundane and you are looking for a way to come alive in your present moment, this message is for you.

The Future of the Church: Mosaic Conference 2018
Have you ever wondered what the role of the Church is in the world today? In this message from Mosaic Conference 2018, Pastor Erwin McManus examines the power of a community that is empowered by God’s intention. He helps us see that alone, our lives can be explained - but together, we tell a story that brings an unexplainable beauty to the world.
Out of Ephesians 3, Pastor Erwin unpacks the mission God had in mind all along. Together as the Church, we were meant to tell the extraordinary story of God to those around us. Just like fireflies are beautiful on their own but at times can go unnoticed, we are meant to be a community of light that not only shows the way to others but expresses an astonishing beauty along the way.
Pastor Erwin encourages us to read the Scriptures through the lens of ‘we’ instead of ‘me.’ God intended us to dream together instead of in isolation. Our dreams are meant to be connected to others and the wide-reaching story God is telling.
If you are ready to step into the beauty of community through the Church, tune into this incredible message!

If you need a new perspective that brings hope to your view of the future, this message is for you!

The Future of Humanity: Mosaic Conference 2018

Why This Matters: Prayer
Many of us wonder ‘Is prayer really THAT powerful?!’ In part three of Pastor Erwin McManus’ series ‘Why This Matters,’ he helps us grasp the power of connecting with God through prayer.
Growing up in El Salvador with a religious background, Pastor Erwin was mostly taught that the power of prayer was found in repetition. In this conversation, he helps us shift our perspective as he shares that the true power in prayer is found in listening to God.
Based on the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 18, we learn that prayer connects us to what God wants to do in and through us. Elijah prayed for the rain to stop and it did at his command. Similarly, Pastor Erwin shares about a time when he prayed for the rain to stop for an event he had planned in college. The rain stopped specifically on his college campus and enabled his event to go as planned when many classmates expected it to be canceled.
Tune into this incredible message to learn how to connect to God through prayer.

Why This Matters: Generosity
Why is living a life of generosity so important? In part two of his new series, ‘Why This Matters,’ Pastor Erwin McManus emphasizes the impact generosity has on our souls, as well as on others around us.
From Proverbs 11, he teaches us that generosity helps posture our hearts. It helps us to be open to what God wants to pour into our lives and how to hold loose what is already ours, so what we own doesn’t own us. Pastor Erwin shares a beautiful story of God providing an essential gift for him and his wife, Kim, exactly when they needed it. He reminds us that though the ‘prosperity gospel’ is misguided, God truly wants our lives to prosper. As we are generous, we are refreshed, healed, and restored.
Tune into this powerful message to learn how to make an incredible impact through generosity.

Why This Matters: The Church
Have you ever wondered why the church matters? In the first message of his new series, ‘Why This Matters,’ Pastor Erwin McManus explains why the church is essential to humanity. Through Ephesians 3:10-20, he challenges us to rethink the way we view the role and meaning of the church. Just like olympians challenge themselves to be the best in the world at their craft, Pastor Erwin challenges us to become the best version of ourselves. The church is the fingerprint of God and our lives are his creative canvas.
As the church moves together, the wisdom of God is revealed. As we fill in the spaces of each other’s weaknesses and contribute our own strengths, we become better together. Pastor Erwin encourages us that the best version of ourselves is found when we gather together.
If you need encouragement to step out of isolation and into community, check out this powerful new message.

When You Lose To Win
Pastor Erwin McManus brings a timely message this weekend in response to the unexpected mask mandate from LA county that led to Mosaic’s first Live Gathering being postponed.
From the book of 1 Corinthians, Pastor Erwin shares with us what it means to live out the apostle Paul’s words to ‘become all things to all people.’ Followers of Jesus can experience total freedom, even as they adapt their lives to share the message of Christ with others. Through letting go of our ego and surrendering a political stance to take up the mantle of the gospel, Pastor Erwin encourages everyone who follows Jesus to keep their eyes on the fight that matters.
This message brings incredible insight into how we all can live in such a way that ‘winning’ is not wasted on meaningless battles, but instead is reserved for the most important battle we face – the war for the human heart. This is a message you don’t want to miss!

A Love Worth Everything
Pastor Erwin McManus brings us a deeply moving message on the power of love. From the streets of Mexico City, he unpacks a passage in Philippians 3:7-9. Pastor Erwin asks us: Is there something in our lives that we love more than everything else? He states that this is how Paul, the author of Philippians, explains the love he’s found in God.
When we are young, we go from loving things to loving experiences, and then eventually – with maturity – we love relationships. Paralleling the idea that you cannot learn the streets of a city unless you walk them yourself, Pastor Erwin instructs us that we won’t get to know God and his love unless we know take time to know Him personally.
In Philippians, Paul states two different ways he knows God: cognitively and intimately. Pastor Erwin explains that we will never know a love worth everything until we move from having the knowledge of God to having intimacy with God. This kind of love moves toward a life of sacrifice. The beauty of love is that it is willing to love without guarantee of return. Pastor Erwin emphasizes that this is the love God had called us to live in.
If you are searching for God’s love and the pathway to truly living, this message is for you!

The Elusive Nature of Freedom
Have you ever felt stifled by God’s instruction? In ‘The Elusive Nature of Freedom,’ Pastor Erwin McManus delivers unparalleled insight to help you unwrap the intentions behind God’s commands.
Pastor Erwin centers his message around Psalm 119:32, where the Psalmist ran with freedom in the direction of God’s commands. Pastor Erwin reminds us that a healthy relationship with God results in an ease with following God’s commands. Only when we think God is stealing from us do we run away from his instruction in our lives.
God’s instruction for our lives is meant to lead us to a life filled with freedom. Pastor Erwin gives us a powerful reminder that God’s commands don’t limit us - they liberate us! When we are focused on pleasing God with our lives, even the opinion of others doesn’t have an overwhelming pull on us anymore. We can live on the road to freedom as we move forward within God’s instruction.
If you’ve been wanting to embrace freedom in your life and walk on the path God has for you, this message is for you!
