#67: Why you shouldn't take the MCAT if you're not ready
Don't go into the MCAT with the idea you will already be taking it again. Are you allowed multiple attempts? Yes, Can you still get in if you have multiple attempts? Yes. But having the mindset that the first Mcat you take is “just a practice run” is not a good idea.
Ideally, you should be one and done with the MCAT. Many students study and then take it when they are not ready because they are already planning on taking it again. Not only does this usually lead to inadequate prep but medical schools will view all your scores. And they won't necessarily “superscore” it (take the best of all your sections) like some colleges do with the SAT or ACT.
