Welcome to episode 100 of Make Noise. To mark this special occasion we decided to flip this one. Not too long ago I was interviewed by the legendary Sugar Hill Gang on their podcast, The Sugarhill Gang Podcast. They are responsible for the song Rapper's Delight which was the first rap record to have a commercial release and opened the doors for all hip hop artists that followed. It was an honour to be a guest on their show so I thought it only right to share it with you. Thank you for all your support in 2020 and getting this show to 100 episodes! Enjoy

Songwriter, producer, singer, and Hip Hop historian TL Cross is my guest on Make Noise. TL has worked with some of the greatest such as 50 Cent, Jazmine Sullivan, Musiq Soulchild, Usher, Yolanda Adams, Mary J Blige and Montell Jordan. He has also been producing a show which documents the history of Hip Hop over the years. 

Singer Brian McKnight Jr. joins me on Make Noise. Brian is the son of the legendary singer Brian McKnight and is a talented artist in his own right. He took to the stage right out of school from the age of 16 and has become a star. Not only is he a great musical artist he has now turned his hand to acting by starring in his first feature film, Freshman Friday.

Comedian, actor and presenter Bill Bellamy is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Bill got his start on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam and since then has risen to be not just one of funniest comedians on the circuit but also a TV presenter and actor in movies such as How to be Player, Love Jones and Any Given Sunday. 

Former wide receiver Plaxico Burress is my guest on this episode Make Noise. Plaxico had a successful 12 year career starting in college football at Michigan State. He then was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and the New York Jets. I've been waiting to have Plaxico on the show and this conversation was worth the wait.

Rapper Jim Jones is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Along with being a rapper and part of Dipset, Jim is also a producer, record label exec and music video producer. Jim is a Harlem brother who lived right across the street from me so it was great vibes on this episode with an old friend. 

Darin "Dee" Dean is my guest on Make Noise. Dee is the co-founder of the legendary Ruff Ryders and is responsible for launching DMX, The Lox, Eve, Jin and of course Swizz Beatz. Dee and his family ran a label that rose to huge success and whose legacy continues to this day. 

Rapper YelloPain is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Amongst a number of hits, YelloPain has recently become a viral sensation with his record 'My Vote will Count'. This song was crucial during what is probably the most important election in US history. It brought to light the importance of your vote and how it can make a real difference to your future and the future of the communities you live in.

Journalist Jemele Hill joins me as my guest on Make Noise. Jemele is a highly respected sports journalist as the former chief correspondent and senior columnist for ESPN's, The Undefeated and prior to that, Jemele co-anchored SportsCenter with Michael Smith. Jemele's work has explored the intersections of sports, race and culture with a lot of success, so it was a real pleasure to have her on the show.

Brian 'Glaze' Gibbs is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. In the 1980's Brian was considered one of the most feared men in New York as a gangster, narcotics dealer and hitman. This man has so many stories to tell and this episode is packed with tales of his past. This one is a special episode. 

Rapper Maino joins me on this episode of Make Noise. Maino came out the gate with the huge hits 'Hi Hater' and 'All the Above' with T-Pain and since then formed his own record label, Hustle Hard Entertainment. Maino has had his fair share of controversy spending time in jail, but to his credit has been able to turn his life around and we get into all of that and more in this interview. 

Sammy "the Bull" Gravano is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. This man is the former underboss of the most powerful crime family in the world, the Gambino family. When we talk about the legendary status of people in their own worlds, this man epitomises it. This episode is extra special for me as I am only one of three interviews that Sammy has recently done. Producer Pete Rock is my guest on Make Noise. Pete is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most important producers of our genre changing the way all producers approach sampling. Pete has made some of the biggest records of all time including They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y) with CL Smooth. Pete is a brother and I'm so blessed to have had him on the show!

Hip Hop mogul J Prince is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. J Prince is the founder of the record label Rap-A-Lot and is one the most important executives from the South helping to put it on the Hip Hop map! I call it the third coast of hip Hop. J Prince brought us some of the most iconic artists that we have in rap most notably Geto Boys. This episode is an instant classic.

Xzibit joins me on this episode of Make Noise. Xzibit's career goes back 25 years and includes a huge solo career, starting with Tha Alkaholiks, working with Dr Dre and as the host of the huge MTV show Pimp my Ride. Xzibit and I go way back and I really enjoyed this conversation with an old friend and I know you will too.

Rapper Nissim Black is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Nissim is a deep and clever guy and we get into everything from his early days in hip hop, his family home being raided by the FBI to converting to Judaism and how that influences his music today.

Professional wrestler Enzo Amore is my guest on Make Noise. Enzo, now wrestling under the name nZo blazed a trail in the WWE winning multiple championships. Enzo brought character and swag to the ring and now brings that same energy to his rap career.

Writer and civil rights activist, Shaun King is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Shaun has dedicated his life to bringing light to racial issues even through all of the adversity and controversy that he's faced. This is a deep conversation with a really smart guy. Enjoy. 

Comedian, actor, and writer JB Smoove joins me on this episode of Make Noise.  JB Smoove started his career with Def Comedy Jam 25 years ago and since then has become one of the hottest comedians on the circuit working at the legendary Saturday Night Live and the smash TV Series Curb Your Enthusiasm. JB Smoove is a huge character and he brings the energy on this episode!

DJ Evil Dee is my guest on Make Noise. Dee is a founding member of the legendary group Black Moon and not only that, he was a colleague of mine on Hot 97 for nearly 20 years! We get into how they started Black Moon and getting their first record deal, working in radio and working alongside DJ Premiere. We also get his top 5 Hip Hop producers of all time. DJ Evil Dee has been in the industry for a long time and this conversation is packed with Hip Hop history. 

Former police officer Mike Dowd joins me on Make Noise. Mike has had a controversial police career getting involved in drug running and corruption during his time in the force. He's now the subject of the documentary film The Seven Five. What an interesting conversation with a real guy.  This episode is packed full of stories from when Mike is in the force. 

Rapper Slim Thug is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Slim Thug is the genuine article and was part of the movement that put Houston on the Hip Hop map. We get into all sorts in this conversation including his time with Swishahouse, going independent, working with Pharrell and when he got the Coronavirus and his thoughts on the vaccine. I enjoyed this conversation with my man Slim Thug and know you will too.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams joins me on Make Noise. Eric has had a career in law enforcement making changes in the police department through the 100 blacks in law enforcement initiative. Continuing his impact he moved into politics becoming the first African-American to hold the position of Brooklyn Borough President. Eric is a man I highly respect who has done so much good for our community and in this episode we get into some real conversations about the police force and how we can make real change. 

Journalist Ed Gordon is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. We get into the 2020 election, how we can hold our elected officials accountable to their actions and what the black community can do to move forward and prosper. I highly respect Ed and his opinion so it was a privilege to have him on the show.

My guest on this episode of Make Noise is Lora King, the daughter or Rodney King. We talk about her experience of what happened to her dad & how it changed her life, her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and what Lora thinks the police can do to make a change. We also get into how Lora is helping the community through the Rodney King Foundation.

Comedian and actor Cedric the Entertainer is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Cedric has been in this game for 30 years and has firmly cemented his legendary status in comedy and entertainment. We have a wide ranging conversation from his early days as an insurance adjuster, his start in comedy impersonating Luther Vandross on stage, Kings of Comedy and what took him from small comedy clubs to to global stardom.

My brother Kendell also known as Young Sav is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Kendell is my blood brother who I am so proud of. When he finished college he started to come on the road with me and got to work. NBA legend John Salley is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. John is truly one of the greats in basketball, he was the first player in history to win championships with three different franchises; The Detroit Pistons, The Chicago Bulls and The LA Lakers. We talk about his phenomenal career, staying away from temptation whilst in the NBA and his CBD business and how that helps him lead a healthy lifestyle. 

Legendary rapper and early pioneer of Hip Hop, Positive K joins me on this episode of Make Noise. Positive K is truly one of the guys that took Hip Hop in it's early days and helped push it forward and into popular culture. Superbowl champion and ex professional American Football player Willie Colon joins me on Make Noise. Ex-drug trafficker Freeway Rick Ross is my guest on today's episode. In the 1980's Rick Ross's empire generated over 900 million dollars in revenue and he was regarded as one of the most prolific traffickers in the US at the time. Since his release from prison Rick has become an author and has started a legal business in the marijuana industry. It goes without saying that this episode is packed full of stories.

Rachael Dolezal is today's guest on Make Noise. Rachael is a former college professor and activist known for being a white woman who identified and passed as a black woman. Although seen as a controversial person, this is an important episode to encourage open dialogue.

Educator Jane Elliott is my guest on this episode of Make Noise. Jane Elliot has devoted her life's work to educate people out of the ignorance of racism and is most famous for her Blue eyes/Brown eyes exercise. 

My guest on this episode is Hip Hop Cop, Derrick Parker. In the 20 years serving on the force Derrick was involved in many of the murder cases in Hip Hop, including Jam Master Jay, Biggie and Tupac. Since leaving the force he has transitioned into private security, becoming an author and has a TV show coming out about his life called 24/7.
