The Global Investor: Q&A on Navigating ETFs, Taxes & Immigration
In this week's episode, Warren Ingram answers your questions about ETFs, whether it's better to withdraw your dividends or reinvest, as well as questions about tax savings on RA/ pension funds if you immigrate. Questions/ Topics:My question is about ETFs that payout dividends versus ETFs that reinvest the dividends. Can you please discuss the pros and the cons of each if faced between two ETFs, let's take the MSCI World distributing or the MSCI world accumulating which one is better? And should the decision of which one you select be influenced by perhaps your age, is it suitable for youngsters or more suitable for retired/ unemployed people who want a regular income? My question is regarding tax on one's RA/ pension upon immigration versus the tax savings that one gets from SARS for contributing to your RA/ pension. Is it fair to say that the tax that you pay when you immigrate is equivalent to the tax savings you have enjoyed from SARS? Or is the tax on immigration greater than the savings you've enjoyed from SARS for contributing to regulation 28? Or is the reverse true, do you actually save more by contributing to RA/ pension? Q&A: Advice on Selling Your Property & Investing to Reach Financial Freedom
Today Warren Ingram answers your questions on the S&P500 vs MSCI World Index ETFs and whether selling property, investing the money, and renting until your goal amount is achieved is the best way to reach financial freedom. Topics/ Questions: My question is about whether it's best to invest in an ETF like the S&P500 or the MSCI World. I’ve heard some people say the S&P500 is a good ETF to have but i know the MSCI world is more diverse and has most of the companies listed in the S&P500. Should I invest in one of them or both of them? I have paid off my house and I’d like to sell it as it no longer suits my needs. My plan is to sell the house and invest the money whilst I rent for the next 5-7years until I’ve made enough to pay off the new house. Is this a good idea or should I get a bond for the difference and buy the house from the start? Have a question for Warren? Q&A: Making Your Contributions Go Further with Warren Ingram

Warren also talks about tax payouts on your RA when emigrating, and what the end savings vs fees would be. Questions/ Topics: What are the pros and cons of ETFs that pay out dividends versus ETFs that reinvest the dividends? Should the decision of the two be based on the investment, your age or your financial status? My question is about tax fees on your RA or pension fund when emigrating versus the tax savings you get from SARS for contributing to your RA. Pensioners Advice & Investing Basics: Q&A with Warren Ingram
Today Warren Ingram answers your questions about pension funds and what the best way forward is for a Living Annuity vs a Guaranteed Annuity. Questions/ Topics: Advice for pensioners, I would like to know how much i should allocate towards equities, would 100 minus your age be a good equity allocation and the rest in bond? Also, what percentage of equity allocation should be in foreign currency assuming a large portion of bonds is local? Furthermore, the current volatile markets highlight the need to not have all my income in a living annuity, but invest in a guaranteed annuity, given the current high CPI would it be best to wait for markets to improve and hopefully the CPI decreases?
