Episode 58: Here’s What I Really Think About Politics with Nick Connolly
Show Notes:
Depending on your city, community, or algorithm on social media, you may hear that there is only one way you can show up and vote as a Christian this fall. What’s wild is that depending on your city, community, and algorithm, you could be hearing two completely different perspectives on what that is.
This week, Jess is bringing back her best friend, pastor, and favorite podcast guest, Nick Connolly, to discuss what they really think about politics.
This episode is not meant to convince you that one way, side, or issue is right. Rather, Jess and Nick hope that they can pull back and gain a wider perspective on how the people of God can bring the light of Jesus to a very dark world.
This episode is for the humble and hungry among us who want to see His kingdom come and His will be done—not just in our nation but in the world at large.

On this episode we brought in our friend, Anna Victorson to share what she’s experienced as a first time mom. You’ll hear Jess and Anna talk all things motherhood + rest and how this looks very different throughout the seasons of life. If you are a mom or if you are one day hoping to be a mom, this episode is for you. If you have ever asked the questions: How do we rest as moms? What is realistic? What is practical? What does this look like in different seasons of motherhood? This episode is for you.
This isn’t Jess’s podcast, it’s our podcast!

Episode 37: Your Body Is Ready for Summer
Jess’s newest book, Tired of Being Tired, just came out on April 9th, but since Summer is upon us, we thought this would be a good time to bring out Jess’s last book, Breaking Free from Body Shame.
If you find yourself thinking you have to jump on a new fitness challenge, change your diet, or find yourself wanting to avoid the community pool for the next few months, this episode is for you. In this episode, we brought in our friend and team member, Katie Smith, to share her story of body shame + healing. You’ll hear Jess and Katie share openly and honestly about their past experiences, what they learned, how the Lord was able to carry them through, and how this one thing remains true: YOUR BODY IS GOOD.
This is for the woman who has never felt free, for the new mom dealing with a body she doesn’t recognize, and/or the woman who thought she’d conquered this issue, but it’s still cropping up.
If you have a body and want to live free, this episode is for you.

Episode 36: What Your Single Friends Wish You Knew
This isn’t my podcast, it’s OUR podcast. So today we're hitting one of our most requested episode topics: singleness and marriage! Since Jess has been married for nearly 20 years, we brought in our friend and team member, Liz Cox, to share her experience as a single gal.
You’ll hear Jess and Liz share their life experiences and how they’ve learned to understand each other better, learn from one another, and be on one another’s team despite being in different seasons of life. They’re answering the question, “What do you wish your married friends/single friends knew?” and their answers might surprise you. If you’re single, this episode is for you. Episode 35: We Didn't See This Coming
In this episode, Nick Connolly, husband, father, pastor, and author, interviews Jess Connolly about her newest book, ‘Tired of Being Tired.’ You’ll hear raw and honest conversations about how this current season has been for Jess, as she experienced deep grief from an unexpected family loss while also experiencing great joy in seeing this book being launched into the world.
There is no better time for this book to come out, as 'Tired of Being Tired' is all about finding rest. When rhythms fail, the principles of spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional rest hold us up. The biblical truths Jess found while writing this book carried her through when she couldn’t get enough sleep or follow all the practical tips.

Episode 34: Community + Rest
If you like the idea of rest, if you're tired of being tired, if you're ready to stop living exhausted, this episode is for you. But what in the world do you do about your community? What do you do about your spouse who has a different schedule than you? How do you handle rest if you’re an overwhelmed caregiver of small kids? These questions are ones that Jess gets asked all of the time. So, let’s talk about it!
This episode is all about community and rest and how we can have both, together. God has placed us where we are on purpose. And what if all of that was so compelling that it started a wave in our communities?
One woman willing to rest changes her life. A group of women resting changes the world. Let’s go.

Episode 20: New Goals, Fresh Grace, Same Us
We love the New Year and love goal setting, but we love the gospel and grace more. So we’ve got to let the Good News of Jesus be the banner over any new year and we can’t keep pretending that a self-help equation of striving will keep us from needing Jesus. It’s a new year, there’s fresh grace, and we can even set new goals - but let’s not pretend we need to be or can be completely different people to step into what God has for us in 2024.

It’s funny that we corporately get so excited about the holidays and at the same time, we corporately talk about how crazy we felt during them once they’re over. We post a million memes about Mariah Carey in October, and then we all post the same meme the week after Christmas about how confused we are. We join in on the narrative of joy and celebration, but we also join in on the preset narrative about how this season leaves us feeling.
If this resonates with you, this episode is for you. Join Jess on this episode as she shares 4 things to say no to during the holiday season and 4 things to say yes to.

Women of the Resurrection | Episode 177
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to join in on conversations you’re already having. In this week’s episode, we are centering around Holy Week, and what we can learn from the Women of the Resurrection. Jess is inviting us to take advantage of this season and our proximity to Jesus to lean in as we lead up to Resurrection Sunday.
Throughout the Gospels, we see the women of the resurrection feeling, communing, resting and testifying to what Jesus has done. As women on mission, we have access to the same encouragement and blessings that they did then, in Jesus’ name.
Make time to feel this week. Make time to commune with others this week. Make time to rest in the name of Jesus this week. Make time to testify, to go and tell. Because this is who you were made to be. Let’s go!
He is mighty in you.

How to Hear From God | Episode 175
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to join in on conversations you’re already having. In this week’s episode, we are providing some insight and encouragement about How to Hear From God. Jess and GATG team member, Caroline, are undoing, unwriting and untying lies placed on women when it comes to this topic.
Desiring to hear from God is a beautiful thing, and we believe that all women hear from God in one way or another. This episode provides a wide view of ways we can hear from God and how we can check if what we’re hearing is actually from Him.
As we grow in practice of hearing from God, remember this - even if we hear from Him wrong, that’s okay. God will still love us and talk to us, even if we don’t take every step exactly right. There’s freedom in this truth.
He is mighty in you.

In this week’s episode, we are providing some helpful tips centered around Community and Your Calling. Jess and GATG team member, Anna, bring the importance of doing life together while on mission to the forefront in practical ways.
Walking boldly in your calling does not mean isolation; we were never made to do mission alone. We are niching down into real community to both go and grow in relationships as we pursue our callings through these five tips.
We pray this episode encourages you to remember in community that people are messy and they sin - same with you. There’s grace and empowerment in living our lives with others while following your calling in Jesus.

Unpopular Opinions About Our Callings | Episode 173
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to join in on conversations you’re already having. In this week’s episode, we are bringing truth and talking Unpopular Opinions About Our Callings. Jess and GATG team member, Caroline, have shaken down these opinions to make sure they’re truly unpopular and what we actually think.
These five opinions may not be shared by everyone, but we are encouraging our women on mission to let go of these misconceptions and feel empowered to continue walking in obedience.
Your platform matters. Your Who matters. You have permission to reinvent the wheel if you’re called to it. You don’t have to be fearless. Messy things and unmet goals are beautiful. Let’s make space for grace as we move forward together.

Do you feel fear about your calling? | Episode 172
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. In this week’s episode, we are diving into very human emotions: Do you feel fear about your calling? Jess and GATG team member, Emily, speak truth over these common feelings, provide different responses to fear and ways we can fight back.
The presence of fear, worry and anxiety does not negate your courage. It’s the beginning of stepping into all God has called you to. It means you’re human, you love people and God, and want to handle all this well. We see you and are walking with you.
Because instead of allowing fear to be a constant background noise in our lives, we need to pull the car over, turn the engine off, turn to the backseat and speak truth to it, so we can move past the fear in Jesus’ name.

How do I start over? | Episode 167
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. In this week’s episode, we are encouraging you with extra grace if you’re feeling the Spirit tugging at your heart: How do I start over? Our gal and GATG team member, Henslee, is providing wisdom and grace in seasons of pivoting and change.
We are always going to mess up and sin - that’s the truth of humanity, yet we cannot forget the grace that lives here too. Starting over doesn’t mean starting from scratch. There’s so much to learn about where we’ve been, so we can take empowered steps forward again.
No matter your season, we pray we can find joy and gladness in every single day that the Lord has made and remember that His mercies are new every single morning to start over.

How do I balance work and rest? | Episode 166
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. In this week’s episode, we are tackling a necessary question as we march on mission: How do I balance work and rest? Jess and GATG team member, Anna, sit down and strategize on how we can hold work and rest in balance with one another.
This is a struggle for most women and changes each season of our lives. If we are living with a kingdom perspective, we can see that we work out of a place of rest and not the other way around; and that’s good news, friends!
We are women who get to work and get to rest in the name of Jesus. Rest is not lazy and is so productive for our souls. May we prayerfully be in tune with the Holy Spirit inside of us to pay attention to our own places of fatigue, to figure out what kind of exhausted we are and to try to rest at those places to move the kingdom forward. Amen?

Ten Mistakes Women Make in the New Year | Episode 165
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to join in on conversations you’re already having. In this week’s episode, we are pausing at the beginning of the year to chat about: Ten Mistakes Women Make in the New Year. Jess and GATG team member, Caroline, sit down and highlight common mistakes Christian women tackle during this goal-setting season.
While this may seem critical, we are shame off you girls. And because your year matters, we do want to highlight ten mistakes Christian women make in the new year. The glorious thing? Each day brings new mercies and we can start over right now.
We do not want to live under the oppression of the lie that everything is our responsibility and that all our growth, goodness, abundance, healing, freedom and fruit in our lives is up to us. We grow when we abide on the vine. So let’s take a look at these common errors, find a trusted sister or friend, and let’s encourage each other to keep going!

New Year, New Me: Really? | Episode 164
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. 2023 is here, and we are wrestling with this common question: New Year, New Me: Really? Jess and GATG team member, Emily, sit down and challenge the idea of becoming new people during the new year, when our true newness comes from the blood of Jesus.
We often listen to the lie from the enemy of our souls that we need to be reinvented and become more like the people around us, and friends, that’s just not true. The calendar page has turned, and we can still live into the agreements God has already spoken over our lives yesterday, today and forever.
For our friends who feel they are too emotional or are not enough, who feel they don’t have their life under control or want to be able to let go more, who feel behind or going too fast - in the name of Jesus, who He made you to be is intentional and beautiful. Let’s not “New Year, New You” ourselves out of who God made us to be, the weaknesses that His power is going to be made perfect in.

How can I prepare for what’s next? | Episode 163
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. We are inviting you to dream of 2023 (after we’ve processed the past year) in this week’s episode: How do I prepare for what’s next? Jess and GATG team member, Caroline, sit down and provide compelling invitations for the new year through thinking about:
Vision - where do I want to be a year from now? What do you want the world to look like 100 years after you’re gone?
Agreement - what parts of your God-given identity do you really want to step into and live out in the year to come?
Rhythms - what are the daily/weekly/monthly rhythms that you want to engage in that help you agree with the God-given vision for your life?
Follow Up - when are you going to ask these questions again? What are you going to do when everything doesn’t go well?
We are taking a different approach to goal setting this year, and are focusing on grounding our goals in what really matters, agreeing with who God has made you to be and choosing daily/weekly/monthly rhythms that help you agree with the God-given vision for your life. If your goals fall short or you fall out of rhythm, remember that grace lies in abundance there too.
While January 1 is a time to dream big, it’s not the only fresh start we get as women on mission - the Lord’s mercy is new every morning. This is good news. We’re free to follow up, keep going and try again.
Come along on this new journey with us by downloading the Four Invitations in PDF to help guide your preparation before January gets here. Let’s get to writing, goal setting and dreaming of all God is going to do in 2023.

How do I process this past year? | Episode 162
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. In this episode, before we start dreaming and writing goals for the upcoming new year, we are taking a step back to reflect on 2022: How do I process this past year? Jess and GATG team member, Anna, sit down and unpack the hills and valleys of the past year using the prompts:
Count the fruit - thanking God for what He did this year
What didn’t work this year? What didn’t go as you hoped or planned?
What did work and why?
What can you change? What can’t you change?
Whether it's in conversation with a loved one or through prayerfully writing it all down in a journal, we encourage you to take time to reflect on everything God orchestrated this past year. Some of these questions are more lighthearted than others, but we believe it’s important to look back and see where we’ve been before goal setting for the year to come.
Let’s look back and see the ways God moved over the last months. Let’s ask the hard questions and share in the struggles, the triumphs and the victories from this past year. Let’s celebrate where we’ve been so we can pray and dream about where we’re going.

What am I gifting my gals this year? | Episode 161
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! The holiday season is almost here, so today, we are talking to each of our GATG team members about what giving and receiving will look like this Christmas. These questions include:
What is the most meaningful gift you’ve received?
What are some gifts you’re excited to give this year?
What gifts are you hoping to receive this year?
We want to be intentional this gift giving time of the year. It’s sometimes more than the physical gift we give - these presents can bring encouragement, value and abundance to those who receive. This holiday season, let’s give gifts that prophetically speak encouragement, life and hope over the people we love most.

Is mission going to ruin my marriage? | Episode 160
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. This episode, we are unpacking what holding relationship and mission together looks like: Is mission going to ruin my marriage? Jess and her husband, Nick Connolly, pastor of Bright City Church, sit down and give us a behind-the-scenes look at different seasons of their marriage and how it affected their mission along the way.
Maybe you’re asking, what do we do if my spouse and I feel called to different God-given missions? Or what if my spouse doesn’t agree with or understand what I’m called to? There’s a lot to unpack in this episode and Jess and Nick use their wisdom and experience to help answer these questions.
All in all, Jess and Nick believe being in a mission-minded marriage makes life better, but often what is better begins as something difficult and takes pruning. Anytime you’re leaning into the mission of God, there will be resistance. Marriage is beautiful. Your God-given mission is beautiful. God didn’t give you both to be in competition with each other, so may we find our base in our relationships and build from there together. Amen?
We pray that you feel encouraged and blessed as you listen to this week’s episode.

How do I practice gratitude? | Episode 159
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! In this “Gratitude” episode, we are talking to each of our GATG team members about what they’re thankful for and about gratitude practices they engage in. These questions include:
What does your gratitude practice look like?
What does it look like to practice your gratitude out loud?
What are you thankful for this year?
We are taking back November as a chance to move the Kingdom forward through proclaiming aloud where we see God at work in our lives and counting the fruit of the blessings. For us as kingdom women, this is more than just listing a few things that we are happy about, it’s a practice in spiritual warfare, proclaiming the victories found in Jesus.
Wanting to practice gratitude? Listen along for some ways our team members daily reflect on the goodness of God. Let’s slow down together and look out for the miracles of the Lord. Amen?

How do I find a mentor? | Episode 158
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. This episode, we are demystifying mentorship through a seemingly simple question: How do I find a mentor? Jess and GATG team member, Caroline, sit down and break down the differences between discipleship, counseling, coaching and mentorship, and the value of the wisdom surrounding us through other women.
Whether you’ve been seeking a formal mentorship relationship or not, this episode strengthens our relationship with other women we hold closely. Each woman on mission has some kind of expertise, wisdom or insight in specific areas that you can humbly learn from, no matter your season of life.
In these relationships, find the places where you can be honest without buttoning up your life because we are looking to surround ourselves with women whose life leads you more in awe of God, not in awe of them. Formal or not, mentorship is just women walking each other home in the name of Jesus.
Let’s keep going. He is mighty in you.

How do I live up to my potential? | Episode 153
Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! This season on the podcast, we want to answer the questions you’re already asking. This episode, we dive into one that can be hard to answer: How do I live up to my potential? Jess and GATG team member, Henslee, sit down and chat about living into your ‘potential.’ We turn this topic every which way and strip it down to the bare bones: you should not be worried about living up to your potential as each season comes with its own capacity, freedom and constraints.
If you are trying to decide how much God can get from your life, you will probably either think about it too much and be disappointed or think too little and get stuck - so we’ll encourage you to stop thinking about it.
When your heart is set on the Lord, in Jesus’ name, you cannot mess this up. Let’s actively live out this promise that changes our whole perspective on capacity and potential if we trust God and trust what He says about our life.
He is mighty in you.

Hope will not put you to shame. | Episode 148
Have you ever had your hopes up and been massively disappointed? And because of that, have been put to shame?
Romans 5:5 says this: And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Hope does not put you to shame. Because our hope is in the Lord.
Let’s talk about expectancy and expectations. Expectations are specific, it’s us having a clear idea of what God is going to do and creating an idea of how it will happen and when it will happen. However, with expectancy, your hands are a little more open, eyes are on the bigger horizon. You have more of an expectancy on how God could potentially move.
Here’s your reminder to check on your expectations. Expectations of other people, yourself, your memories, etc. Are they serving you?
And then check in on your expectancy; are you expectant for how God could move or might move right now?
Are our hopes in his hand moving in some particular way OR are our hopes in his true character.
Even if what we hope will happen doesn't, we get to bring it all to God. Cause when we talk to God about it, we exercise intimacy and there is no shame in entering the throne room with our Father.
Bring ever desire, every fear, every frustration, every delight, bring it all to him, get your hopes up and talk to Him about it.
You will not be put to shame.
We are grateful for you and we’ll see you Thursday!

You're not an imposter. | Episode 146
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off by centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
This episode we are talking about imposter syndrome and will give you some tools to fight it.
First things first you’re not an imposter if you don’t act like the expert, if you don’t act like you’re the hero. There is no imposter syndrome for you because you aren’t faking it.
2 Corinthians 10:4 says, We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
These 4 tools will help you fight imposter syndrome:
Ask questions.
Say sorry when you’re wrong.
Bless other people.
Don’t pretend, ever.
We don’t have to pretend that we have it all together, we don’t have to be the hero because God is the hero. God is righteous. God is the source of life. And His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)
You aren’t an imposter, you are a child of God. So continue to declare His goodness and his glory.
God is the hero.
See you Thursday.

Motherhood + Balance: The Great Debate | Episode 145
This month on the Go and Tell Gals podcast, we’re focusing our conversations on motherhood for all. Whether that means literal motherhood or spiritual motherhood, we’re talking about it – because it’s a huge topic of conversation for women on mission. On this episode, GATG team member Henslee joins Jess to talk about the idea of motherhood and balance. This is kind of THE question around motherhood, so we’re looking at it from two different stages and perspectives of motherhood.
This episode is wildly encouraging if you are:
caught in the comparison game in regards to your stage of motherhood
frustrated by your own pace and/or capacity
stuck in a place of striving
trying to balance motherhood and mission
wanting to support the mothers around you
We get to be cheerleaders for those around us and we get to speak life into others, right where we’re at. Look around and assess what you have to give, and for the good of others and the glory of God, and go for it. We’re cheering you on!

Just because it’s hard, doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. | Episode 142
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off by centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
For this Monday, this week, this year, this life you just might need the reminder that just because it's hard, doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.
Or that you’re in the wrong spot. Or that you are a failure.
Remind yourself that everything that’s worth doing is hard and here are some prompts you can run through when it does feel really hard:
It could be hard because you need help.
It could be hard because of spiritual warfare.
It could be hard because you need rest.
It could be hard because you need a shift in how you’re doing it.
It could be hard just because it’s hard.
We’d encourage you today to keep stewarding your God-given gifts. Keep stepping out in obedience.
Continue on with this hope:
“And blessed is she who believed that what was spoken to her by the Lord would be fulfilled.” Luke 1:45
He is leading you. He will fulfill every promise He has made to you. This reminder is simple, but it's everything: keep going.
See you Thursday!

You have to act free to feel free. | Episode 138
What do you do this Monday morning if you don’t feel free?
What do you do this Monday morning if you don’t feel brave?
If you don’t feel like you’re making a difference?
If you don’t feel like a leader?
I know that I’m free because Jesus did the work to make me so, but I don’t feel free - so I act like I’m still in bondage rather than living free.
I’m talking about freedom a lot lately, I can’t get enough. But here’s the deal - I think we often first have to know how and why we’re free, and THEN the feelings come. But it takes patience, faith, and perseverance to press in past the not-so-free feelings.
Like Romans 12:2 tells us - the renewing of our mind will transform us.
So what do we do with our feelings in the meantime? I’m so glad you asked: we give them to God and talk to Him about them. He doesn’t want us to stuff them or hide them; He’s eager and ready to encourage our hearts.
If you are in Christ, you have been set free.
If you don't feel free - that's ok.
You’re in the right spot, and no matter what: freedom is for you.
Make space for your feelings, but make moves and actions that agree with the truth about your life, the feeling comes later. But it does come.

It's ok if life isn't that tidy. | Episode 136
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
Do you ever feel like your life is a mess?
One of Jess’ favorite verses is about oxen, ‘“Where no oxen are, the trough is clean; but increase comes by the strength of an ox.” Proverbs 14:4. it essentially says: your stable is clean when there’s not a lot going on, but to see a strong harvest - you’re going to have a messy space.
So we will ask you again, do you feel like your life is a mess? A lot of times and a lot of days we get to have the option to have a tidy life or a fruitful one. We get to choose to spend our days using our gifts for the good of others and the glory of God which doesn’t always look as tidy as we hoped.
For a life of abundant mission, you should expect a bit of a mess. And we get to expect that God is bringing harvest and He is bringing fruit.
We’d encourage you as you start your week, to throw off the feeling of shame or frustration and put your eyes on the hope of harvest.
We give you the gift of Proverbs 14:4 and the reminder that God has placed you where you’re at on purpose. And we give you the gift of this question:
Do you want a tidy life or a fruitful one?
We pray peace and blessings over you as you go throughout your week!
We’ll see you Thursday!

Doing life together
Everything happens for a reason

Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
You can hear from God.
Let’s turn to Genesis:
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Genesis 3:1
Satan was placing doubt in Eve’s mind about God, but also – about her capacity to hear from Him.
What if fear and insecurity are keeping us from declaring what we’re hearing God say? Here are 3 questions to ask to discern if you’re hearing from God:
Does it line up with scripture?
Is it good for other people?
Does it bring God glory?
And, it can be wildly freeing when you realize that you actually cannot avoid getting it wrong.
Don’t suppress the Spirit, and don’t stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don’t be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what’s good. Throw out anything tainted with evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22-MSG
God wants to talk to you, through you. You can be humble without speaking doubt + disbelief. He is mighty in you. We’ll see you Thursday!

Running our Race with Team Go and Tell Gals | Episode 133
This is our last conversation of March, which has been centered around running our race. This week, while Jess is out of town, you get to hear from the other members of Team Go + Tell Gals!
In this episode, you’ll hear about how each of us got started out in our roles, our favorite (and hardest) parts of what we all do here at Go + Tell Gals, what keeps each of us running our race, and one thing we’d say to each of you to encourage you as you go.
If you’ve listened to this series and wondered what running your own race looks like, and even asked if it’s okay if it looks different than someone else’s – this episode is for you.
Anna, Henslee, Caroline, and Emily candidly share what running each of their races looks like, and we hope that you’re encouraged by how different their answers are.
We pray this episode encourages you to keep going in whatever God has called you to. You were placed right where you’re at, running the race you’re in, on purpose. God is mighty in you and your mission.

Don’t be scared of your strengths. | Episode 132
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
Last week we talked about our weaknesses. Today, we’re going to talk about our strengths.
We’ve noticed that women (ourselves included) are hesitant to name and stand in our strengths. We’ve been conditioned to be scared of our God-given strength. But – God isn’t afraid of making us strong.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
You have inherent strength, if by grace through faith you walk with God. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive and at work in and through you. We’ve confused glorifying God for the strengths He’s given us with pride – and nothing could be further from the truth. We’re not prideful for giving glory to the One who gave us our strengths.
By failing to acknowledge areas where He has strengthened us, we’re missing out on claiming some healing and hope for our own lives AND missing out on serving others by using that strength for good.
You don’t have to live in the narrative that you are a victim and life is happening to you. Life is hard. Eternity is real. The kingdom of heaven is on your side and in Jesus’ name, you are strong. God is mighty in you – and we mean that. We’ll see you Thursday!

Celebrate Along the Way with Nicole Zasowski | Episode 131
This month, our conversations on the podcast have been centered around the idea of Running our Race. That continues this week, as Jess sits down with Nicole Zasowski to talk about how we can create a rhythm of celebration in our lives.
In her latest book, What if it’s Wonderful?, Nicole speaks into the act of celebrating while running our race and what it means to celebrate no matter the season.
This episode is for you if you’ve ever wondered:
Am I celebrating my steps along the way?
Who or what am I celebrating today?
How can I celebrate, even when I don’t feel like it?
What would an ongoing, consistent rhythm of celebration look like in my life?
We pray this episode (and the rest of this series) encourages you to keep going in whatever God has called you to. You were placed right where you’re at, running the race you’re in, on purpose. God is mighty in you and your mission.

Your weakness is a not a liability. | Episode 130
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
Here’s the deal, right off the bat: your weakness is not a liability.
How can we know? Let’s turn to 2 Corinthians 12:9.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Here are some questions to ask when you feel tempted to hide or discount your weaknesses:
Is this a kingdom weakness or a cultural weakness?
What is God building in you through this weakness?
Is there a big picture, and how can you trust in that?
Owning your weaknesses takes power away from the enemy and gives it to God.
Confessing your weaknesses brings the refreshment that many of us are desperate for.
Refusing to apologize for kingdom strengths that may be cultural weaknesses helps you – and every woman around you.
Wherever you feel weak right now, God is not surprised or taken aback.
God is mighty in you and your weaknesses are not a liability. We’ll see you Thursday!

You’re in the right spot. | Episode 128
Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off-centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
Have you ever wondered if you’re in the right spot? We’re looking to Psalm 16:6 for encouragement and affirmation that we are.
You’re in the right spot because God is there.
Do you feel like you’re not enough or too much for the space you’re in? What if that wasn’t even possible? Declare His worthiness.
Do you feel like there’s nothing good here? What if that wasn’t even possible? Count the fruit.
Do you feel like you’ve made a mistake along the way? You can fix it.
We can get caught up in comparing ourselves to what we see on the left or the right. Our spot may very well look different than someone else’s. We can get caught up in questioning whether or not God is here if this is on purpose.
You’re in the right spot because God is there.
Let’s start this week off by agreeing that right, where we’re at, is beautiful and on purpose. You were placed right where you’re at to go and tell. We're praying over your week, and we believe that God is mighty in you. We'll see you Thursday!

Women on Mission + TV | Episode 127
Last week in our ‘Running Your Race’ podcast series we went deep; this week, we’re going light! We’ve been contemplating this episode for months – it’s unlike anything we’ve ever done before, but we’re so excited about it. Are you ready to hear what we’re talking about?
Here’s the thing – being women on mission can be tough. It can be heavy. It’s good for us to be whole and human – to have an outlet outside of our everyday reality, to be able to relate with people we encounter, to enjoy the talents of some of God’s creation. For many of us, that means watching TV. How do we keep things light and enjoy television for entertainment, but still learn from what we’re consuming? Go with us if you want - this is a fun one!
We start with a disclaimer right at the beginning: we know this episode isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay! If you prefer interviews or coaching sessions, we get it – if this doesn’t serve you, we’ll catch you next week! (Make sure to download our Running Your Race guide – it’s a free tool designed to help encourage you as you run your own race, whatever that looks like for you!)
In this episode, Jess and her lifelong friend JPH (Jennie) are talking about:
When we watch TV
Why we love watching TV (the lightness, the culture, how it relates to women)
And specific TV shows that we’re drawing valuable life lessons from, like: the Real Housewives (yes, really), Yellowstone, Downton Abbey, the West Wing, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and more

You're known by God. | Episode 126
Join us for our very first Monday Mini podcast episode. Basically, we just want to provide some good news for your Monday, to kick off your week with something that is both life-giving and also practically helps you live out your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.
You are known by God. Isn’t it funny how people say, “God only knows” or, “Lord knows” when they don’t actually know the definite answers to something? But, truly - God really does know.
Everyone wants to know God, but what if we take the time this week to be known by God? Let's turn to Psalm 139. God knows how weak you feel and He called you anyhow. God knows what you need before you do. God knows the mistakes you’ll make and He still appointed you. He knows the end of this story. He knows your thoughts and fears, you don’t have to hide them in shame.
You are known by God and that is grace.
You are known by God and that is friendship.
You are known by God and acknowledging that leads to power.
How would you live this week, your life, differently if you acknowledged that you’re known by God? You're known, seen, loved, and held. How does that change the way you go and tell?
We're praying over your week, and we believe that God is mighty in you. We'll see you Thursday!

Let’s Keep Going with Nick Connolly | Episode 125
This month on the GATG podcast, we’re talking about running our race - throwing off what hinders us and pressing into what we’ve been called to. This episode with Jess’s husband, Nick Connolly, is a follow-up conversation to Nick’s interview back in 2018 (listen here!) – at the time, they were both pretty fresh off the heels of wanting to quit. In light of this month’s theme, we wanted to hear from Nick again, over 3 years later, to see what has changed, how he has processed this subject, and really – how we can keep going.
Nick answers:
What is his current calling
What most makes him want to quit
How we can encourage our partners and friends when they need to keep going
Plus he shares his thoughts on resistance
We pray this episode (and the rest of this month’s episodes) encourages you to keep going as you run your race. You were placed right where you’re at on purpose, and God is mighty in you.

Boundaries, Part 2 | Episode 124
This episode continues the conversation started back in Episode 121 about boundaries.
We get a lot of questions about boundaries for women on mission, so we’ve devoted an entire month of podcast episodes to this exact topic. Whether you have zero boundaries set in your own life, are skeptical about setting boundaries, or are the most boundaried human ever, you’re welcome to join this discussion. It’s our hope that these episodes will address the challenges women on mission face with setting and honoring boundaries, give some Scriptural backing to boundary setting, and share some helpful resources.
In this episode, we walk through five pain points on boundaries:
When our boundaries disappoint people
When you have to set boundaries on good things
When boundaries go too far
When our boundaries are broken
A note on pleasing people

CALL-IN COACHING: Don’t miss our very first call-in coaching segment! Jess coaches Go and Tell Gals coach, Chrissy Huffman, on her boundaries. Chrissy has a hard time saying ‘no’ to people and things because they’re typically good things and she doesn’t want to disappoint people. We can all benefit from hearing the very practical coaching Jess gives to Chrissy about this topic. The role-playing scenario was so helpful to see all the way walked out!

Women, Teams, and the Boundaries We Need with Team Go + Tell Gals | Episode 123
We’re continuing our podcast series on boundaries with a Q&A-style chat with Team Go + Tell Gals. In this episode, we’re sharing our perspective as a team that works together, works on the internet, works while being friends/caring about each other’s personal lives - while still actually working and staying focused on what God has called us to. We’ll also talk a little bit about our individual boundaries with work and technology and what works for each of us. We’re all five in different roles and seasons of life, so we have to adjust our boundaries accordingly.
Questions we’re answering:
How in the world do we get anything done when we all care about our work and one another?
How do we separate our work from our personal lives?
How do we keep good boundaries with the internet as a whole, since this is where we work?
What are helpful boundaries we have in place around working and tech?
After our team Q+A on boundaries, Jess, Caroline, and Anna stick around to have a chat about running! How are these two conversations related? Because we run together, often during work time - and it makes sense and feels life-giving for us!
Ever since the release of Breaking Free from Body Shame and the start of Good Body Gals, our online exercise subscription (learn more here!), we’ve started talking a lot about running online, and the Internet has been curious.
We talk about:
How we started running together before (and sometimes during) work
What running does for us spiritually/emotionally
What running “slow” actually means
Can other women join our “Slow Runners Club”?

Off Limits: Boundaries for Women Who Use the Internet with Charaia Callabrass | Episode 122
In this episode, we’re continuing our series on boundaries with an incredibly wise conversation with Charaia Callabrass. She’s a wife, mother, content creator, curator of hilarious Tik Tok videos on Instagram, and a truly gifted truth teller. Her God-given mission is to put words to the things we don’t like to talk about and equip people to be courageous enough to stay soft.
Charaia and Jess talk about boundaries, especially in regards to creating and consuming content on the Internet. You’ll hear Charaia speak to:
How she knows she’s not staying soft
How she stays on the Internet when it feels hard
How boundaries are part of a “house” (it’s a metaphor… listen in!)
Letting God be the main character of your story
The problem with labeling people as toxic
And so much more wisdom
We think this episode is deep, wise, and funny - we laugh a lot, we talk about a lot about boundaries and a little about petty internet things, but truly: we just talk about what it’s like to be a woman on mission in an Internet-centered world.

Boundaries, Part 1 | Episode 121
In this episode, Jess is leading us in a conversation all about boundaries.
We (Jess and Go + Tell Gals) get a lot of questions about boundaries for women on mission. After taking to Instagram and receiving an overwhelming response, it’s safe to say this is a topic of interest to our friends and followers. We’re so blessed for your openness, and want you to know that no matter your current relationship with boundaries, you are welcome here. If you have zero boundaries set in your own life, if you’re skeptical about setting boundaries, or if you’re the most boundaried human ever, you’re welcome here. It’s our hope that these episodes will address the challenges women on mission face with setting and honoring boundaries, give some Scriptural backing to boundary setting, and share some helpful resources.
In this episode, we walk through six points on boundaries:
Some boundaries will work for you, some won’t. Boundaries are specific to the person holding them.
Boundaries as defensive, not offensive.
Did Jesus set boundaries?
Access isn’t equity.
When is the right time to set a boundary?
Make Saying No Okay Again.
We’ve got about five more points to share on boundaries - stay tuned for part 2 of this conversation, coming soon!

How Creative Women Find Peace with Morgan Harper Nichols | Episode 120
In this episode, Jess starts by sitting down with the incredible Morgan Harper Nichols. (Seriously - she's so incredible that this is her third time on the podcast!) These two creative women talk about Morgan's current season and what it looked like to write her newest book (releasing Feb. 15), Peace is a Practice.
Just like we have to inhale breath to breathe out, we must be built up to encourage and lead others. This episode talks about how women can do that, since it’s not something someone else will do for us.
If you ever feel like:
you can't keep up
you crave space
you need some peace
you're called to be creative
you don't have enough energy
you need to set different boundaries to find peace
...then this episode is for you.
After Jess and Morgan's conversation wraps up, Jess shares a quick coaching session about boundaries to help you find peace.
What if our frantic search for self-care is because we give up ground we weren't meant to? What if we didn’t have to vacillate between leading and outpouring, and then sheltering and putting ourselves back together? What if we guarded our hearts appropriately all the time, we didn’t give away too much of our energy, and we kept the routines and rhythms that protect our soul as sacred?
Here are some things to help with boundaries that lead to more peace:
Get rest consistently.
Know your rule of life.
Identify boundaries and keep them.

Your Year Matters | Episode 119
Welcome to the first Go + Tell Gals podcast episode of 2022! This one's got a few moving parts, but hang through it - we think it's very helpful.
Please listen to our announcement right at the beginning. Kennesha is obediently stepping into something new and beautiful that God has asked her to, which means stepping down as a co-host from the podcast. We're so grateful for how she has led powerful, engaging conversations over the past 9 months and shifted this podcast (and all of GATG) for the better. She's accessing her God-given desire and is creating space for what He has called her to - and nothing could be more on-brand or beautifully connected to GATG than that. Join us in rallying around our friend Kennesha and praying for her as she moves in obedience. Follow along with her on Instagram to keep up with what's next.
Now, into the episode - a coaching session from Jess and a Q+A to help start our year off on the right foot. We need a more comprehensive, intentional, spiritually-awake, and intelligent plan to move into this year with victory, compassion, gentleness, and tenacity. We could just hide our head under the pillow and say, “I can’t even”, but that is not what this season is begging of women on mission. Your life, your God-given gifts, your community, and your relationship with God are worth more than a flippant start to this year. These all deserve and require reflection and intention.
The good news: God is mighty in us. He generously gives wisdom to His daughters, and He has placed us where we’re at - even in this year, on purpose, for the good of others and the glory of God. So in this episode, we’re going to hold all of the tension - with all of the hope. Honestly, we're grateful that it’s not commonplace to start a year pretending like it’s always going to be our best year yet.
Your year matters. Let's act like it, and do/ask these 4 things:
Go back to the last thing God told you to do.
What is not making you stronger?
How can you adjust your pace, your plan, your perception of fruit and still be obedient to what God has called you to?
Insert delight + abundance.

Finish Well, Start Strong: Personal Goal Setting | Episode 118
Tomorrow we mark the dawn of a new year, and we love starting a new year with purpose and intention. As we gear up for the gift of another year ahead, we want to be intentional about finishing well and starting strong.
This episode wraps up our three-episode series, Finish Well, Start Strong. We're completing the series with a conversation about personal goal setting as we embark on a new year. Jess and Kennesha ask and answer questions like:
Does goal setting and vision casting even work?
What are different forms of goal setting/vision casting that we can try?
Why do we set goals?
What happens when our goals don’t come to fruition?
Whether you're the world's biggest goals girls or if talk of goal setting make you queasy, this episode is for you.
Dig in deeper with our Finish Well, Start Strong guide, found here! We made this brand new, FREE resource just for our podcast gals. We pray these resources (this series + the guide!) leave you feeling hopeful that you can finish 2021 well and start 2022 strong, because God is mighty in you and in the year ahead.

Finish Well, Start Strong: Vision Casting + Goal Setting as a Family | Episode 117
We're just a few days away from Christmas, and a week away from 2022. As we gear up for the gift of a new year, we want to be intentional about finishing well and starting strong - and today, we're doing that with a family mindset.
In this episode specifically, Jess talks with her husband, Nick, about how to lead a family, team, or group through a vision casting/goal setting session. We’re talking:
How to squash limiting beliefs
How to invite others into thinking about their future with intention
How to live as people of agreement instead of accountability
How to have a family vision session
Plus - a few fun family secrets along the way

We asked on Instagram and received an overwhelming outpouring of questions, centered mostly around:
How to actually make friends
Balancing input and energy in friendships
Setting and communicating boundaries in friendships
How to have life-giving friendships and how to handle a lack of depth in friendships

Calling on a Friendship Expert with Danielle Bayard Jackson | Episode 113
Friends! And you know we don't use that word lightly...
This is the second episode in our Friendship for Real Women series - and we're calling in an expert.
Danielle Bayard Jackson, a certified women's coach, focuses primarily on female heteronormative friendship and communication. She conducts surveys, creates research-based strategies, and teaches women how to have better relationships with one another. Out of her love for all things female friendship, she founded Friend Forward, a digital community that provides coaching, research articles, and connection events for women looking to create and maintain true friendships. She's changing women's lives through her gift of coaching, and we're so grateful for how she's paving the way for women on mission to dig deep together.
In this episode, Danielle helps us dive in head first, answering questions like:
- Is friendship hard for everyone? Do all of us feel like we’re the only ones who never quite figured it out?
- Why does it seem like women especially struggle with friendship? Where are we going wrong?
- How do we define friendship? Is the definition different from woman to woman?
- How can we readjust what hanging out looks like to maximize the time we have?
- How do we communicate expectations and find balance in our friendships?
- How do we handle 'friendship breakups'?
- And more! (Seriously, this is a power packed episode.)
We're so grateful for Danielle's generosity in sharing with us. There's no blueprint for friendship - no one has laid it out or given us a guidebook, so we're grateful to have a friend who's doing just that.
We’re so excited about this series, because we were made to be in community. Share about it with your friends, or join in the conversation with other mission-minded women in the Go + Tell Gals community Facebook group. Who knows - you might just spark a new friendship!
You might have heard Jess mention Good Body Gals and the incredible "Freedom Friday" deal happening there. Get a yearlong membership to Good Body Gals, plus the Body Shame Detox e-course, for $100 ($167 value). Click here to be one of the first to claim!

Friends! And we actually mean it when we say friends. (Segue into today's episode...)
Today we're so excited to launch a brand new podcast series - Friendship for Real Women. We know that we're created for community, so why do so many of us women struggle to experience abundance in our friendships? Over the course of the next four episodes, we're diving in deep. We may not have all the answers, but we want to ask the questions and process with you. We'll talk with each other, some experts, and some real-life friends in hopes of spurring us all on toward deeper, more fruitful friendships.
In this episode, hosts Jess and Kennesha open this new series on friendship by speaking real words, telling real stories, and asking real questions, like:
Is friendship hard for everyone else? Do all of us feel like we’re the only ones who never quite figured it out?
What do we actually need from friendships as women on mission?
After the forming, there’s storming. What do we do when something goes wrong in a friendship?
We’re so excited about this series, because we were made to be in community. Share about it with your friends, or join in the conversation with other mission-minded women in the Go + Tell Gals community Facebook group. Who knows - you might just spark a new friendship!

How Do We Live A Surrendered Yes with Rebekah Lyons | Episode 111
We keep talking about revival in the office, wondering if anyone is actually experiencing it right now. And when we think of who is actually experiencing rest and renewal, it’s immediately our friend, Rebekah Lyons. This episode is packed with incredible wisdom, and we’re so excited to share it with you today.
Rebekah is no stranger to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast (you can listen to her previously on the show, way back on episode 21!), and we are so grateful to have her back to share about her new devotional, A Surrendered Yes: 52 Devotions to Let Go and Let Free. Rebekah is a speaker, the host of the Rhythms for Life podcast, and a bestselling author. She shares her life honestly and vulnerably, and we are constantly blessed by her.
In this episode, we’re diving into:
How suffering actually serves us by pointing us back to our need for God,
How surrendering leads to our freedom,
How even when we insist on self-reliance, God offers mercy and compassion,
And how God delights in simply being with us.
We pray this episode encourages you today. God is mighty in you.

What if Less Actually Leads to More with Allie Casazza | Episode 110
What is our physical environments are really just a reflection of what is happening inside of us? And what if it was easier - that we could actually have freedom? Allie Casazza is on a mission to eradicate the "hot mess mom" stereotype by empowering other women.
Allie began the conversation around minimalism after she struggled once having her second child. Every mom seemed to have it together, and if they didn't, "coffee 'til wine" was the mantra that was preached. Allie set out to change the narrative around motherhood and mission. Now, she offers several online courses and online communities, helping women, specifically mothers, simplify everything in their lives. In her own words, anything can be decluttered.
In this episode, we sit down with Allie to talk about:
why decluttering matters, especially in a season where we have all just spent so much time at home
how freedom is actually accessible
and how the less we have, the more content we might actually be.
We pray this episode leaves you feeling more free and ready for abundance. God is mighty in you.

How can we finish 2021 well with Jessica Honegger | Episode 109
We sat down with our friend Jessica to have a sort of end-of-year check-in. Jessica Honegger is the founder and co-CEO of Noonday Collection, a wildly successful ethically-sourced, artisan-supporting jewelry and accessories company, and she shares openly and vulnerably what 2021 has looked like for Noonday. The way that she leads with confidence and with honesty is incredibly encouraging, and we just know Jessica’s wisdom with bless you.
In this conversation, we talk about:
Adjusting to a new normal as we head in 2022
Refocusing our vision, remembering that the world needs us to walk alongside it
Hearing from God
And how living on mission really means you aren’t living for the outcome.
As we all start to dream about 2022, we pray this episode gives you courage to recognize the feelings from 2021 and bravery to step into 2022, sowing seeds that will have Kingdom impact. We’re on your team, cheering you on, forever. If Team GATG can do anything for you, please let us know by emailing Brenna at [email protected]. God is mighty in you today, sister.

Let's talk about balance as women of mission. | Episode 108
A Google search says this: “Finding balance comes from giving time and energy to the things that build you up and give you life. And likewise, eliminating the things that bring you down and stress you out.”
But as women of mission, we cannot just eliminate what is broken - we live in a broken world with real hurts and God has called us to this place. If everyone is trying to find it - this mysterious sense of balance - maybe it’s not there.
We’re showing up to this conversation with these questions in hand:
Who decides what is balanced?
Is there a difference between worldly balance and Kingdom balance?
Was Jesus balanced?
How can we divulge ourselves of the illusion of balance to serve others?
Listen in as we start what is only the beginning of this conversion. We pray this episode frees you up from the idea of needing to have it all together. His power is made perfect in our weakness, and we get to run in that freedom today.

How to Not Save the World with Hosanna Wong | Episode 107
Friends, you are in for an incredible conversation in this episode with our gal Hosanna. What does it look like to use our stories for God’s glory? Hosanna is exactly who we want to talk to to help us think through this. As Jess would say, Hosanna has the spirit of John, the Baptist, and this episode is sure to encourage and equip you today.
In this conversation, we’re diving into:
how to push past the insecurity, the fear, and the perceived inadequacy when telling our story
how to share our full selves - questions, imperfections, what you like, and what you don’t like - with the world, for the good of others and the glory of God
who the real Savior of our stories is
Hosanna is an author, pastor, and speaker, using what God has given her - a story of growing up on the streets of San Francisco to now living on mission to see lives restored by the power of Jesus - to bring hope to a broken world. She believes in your story, in the Church, and in Jesus. Hosanna shares a bit of her story in this episode, but for more, we cannot recommend her brand new book, How to Not Save the World, enough - grab it wherever books are sold!
This conversation was filled with encouragement and hope, and we pray you finish this episode spurred on to go and tell the good news. We’re so grateful for you, friends. Keep going, God is mighty in you.

How To Pray As An Offering to God with Kayla Craig | Episode 106
What does it look like for our prayers to be real, honest words - not performative, but an offering to God? Our friend Kayla Craig is leading us into this conversation, and we are so grateful for her mission. We spent a good bit of this conversation with Kayla just telling her how grateful we are for her work. The ministry she is doing is both unique and necessary.
Kayla is, as we referred to her in this episode, a motherhood shepherd who is using her words to help parents navigate parenthood while leaning on God. She is a former journalist turned author. Her work began as she started writing prayers that she hoped would help us navigate parenting in an overwhelming world. Her online space, Liturgies for Parents, is an invitation to draw near to God. Her new book, To Light Their Way, releases on October 5, and we hope that you will preorder this incredible work of art.

How do women of mission handle conflict and tension online? | Episode 105
While mission and running on it is absolutely what we love to talk about here, we know that there are some pain points that we all have. We want to be like the friend you FaceTime to process with, so we’re shifting a bit.
Interviews with incredible women of mission will absolutely continue here, but we’re also going to dive into the hard and heavy. How can we, the women of God, keep going in some tense spaces? What’s hard about this for us, for you? We have a lot of questions and only a few answers, but we’re leaning in to create some conversation that will hopefully and prayerfully lead us to more compassion, more curiosity, and more hope in Jesus.
In this episode, we’re talking all about how we, the women of mission that God is using to bring about change in the world, handle conflict and tension online. How do take care of our souls? How can we use the internet as a window to learn without crashing in the walls of our soul that do keep us safe? And how do we love people well, even when we disagree? We pray this conversation encourages and equips you today as you navigate the internet and social media today.
If you love this episode, we would love to hear it! Email Brenna at [email protected] to share your thoughts on this conversation. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Episode 88: Danielle Coke
We sat down with our friend Danielle Coke (@ohhappydani), and friends, you are in for such an encouraging and equipping conversation. We've been counting down the days until we could share this episode with you.
Dani is a digital art creator with a heart for loving our neighbors. She’s going after reconciliation, and she’s burdened for educating us well in the anti-racism conversation. She’s passionate about creating a pathway for people to see and know God through the gifts that He has given her, and she uses what she's got for the good of others + the glory of God. Be sure to check out Dani's incredible shop to grab some apparel, stickers, prints, and more to help you keep running on mission. We are incredibly encouraged by all of her work.
We’re going deep in this conversation. We’re jumping into art and why it matters. We’re talking about having a passion for justice and for equity. We’re discussing toxic positivity and hope. We’re talking about how to fulfill your present purpose through identifying the problem, honing in your skills, and going after your passions.
We’re so grateful for how Dani is equipping us to do both - to have incredible design and to love God + love people wholeheartedly through what we do. This conversation is a breath of fresh air, and we pray it equips you today.

Episode 87: Justice + Injustice
You can’t turn on the news without seeing injustice. You can't scroll social media without hearing about injustice. How do women of mission respond to injustice? What do we do? How do we use what we’ve got for the good of others and the glory of God, all the while knowing that we are placed exactly where we’re supposed to be so that we can respond to injustice right now?
In this conversation with Jess and Kennesha, we’re defining what justice is and what justice is not. We’re looking to the justifier - Jesus - to teach us how to love people best. And we’re talking action steps for going forward, because we know that what has limited you in the past does not have to limit you now. You can have God’s capacity to love the things He loves. Let it be in us, God.
LIsten in on this conversation (this is only the beginning for us!), and know this: we’re on your team. We’re with you. We’re curious, we’re hopeful, we’re ready, we’re lamenting, and we’re prayerful. You have a friend, and we are with you.
We quote three of our friends in this episode, and we want to make sure you follow these incredible women!
Give our friend KJ Ramsey a follow. She's an incredible writer, and we're so grateful for her voice.
Bernice King is a powerhouse, and she's giving us the words we need to hear. Her words in the injustice conversation have encouraged and equipped us.
And we also talk about Osheta Moore's peacemaker vs. peacekeeper idea. She's another amazing friend of ours - give her a follow to glean from her wisdom.
Some of our top book recommendations on injustice:
Reading While Black by Esau McCaulley
The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein
How to Fight Racism by Jemar Tisby
Unsettling Truths by Mark Charles and Soong-Chun Rah
Reparations by Duke L. Kwon
Be the Bridge by Latasha Morrison

Episode 84: We're back!
FRIENDS. We are back, and we are so excited about it!
Last summer when the world got really loud, we got quiet. We paused to hear God and ask for clarity on our next moves. Then towards the end of 2020, we started dreaming up our podcast relaunch and we really focused in on our why: why does the podcast matter, and why should we keep going?
And when we answered these questions, we were led right to our who: you. We've heard from so many of you that conversations from women on mission keep you running on yours. We just knew we had to relaunch, and we knew we had to give Kennesha a permanent spot on a mic, because she's both a captivating and mission-minded storyteller that we constantly want to hear from.
Listen in on this re-launch episode where we officially introduce you to Kennesha Buycks, our new co-host! We talk all about 2020, dream up some fun guests, and look forward to all that’s to come in 2021.
