This is exactly what happened to someone who reached out to me for a critique on her Etsy store.
She asked me how I get so much traffic to my store, how I get so many sales, and why she is struggling to get the same traction.
After I took a good look at her store and gave her step-by-step directions on how she can improve her listings, get more traffic to her store and get more sales, my advice was ignored.
A couple months later I looked back at her store, and while my store has surpassed 6000 orders, her store only got two.
In this episode, I will share the struggles that this shop owner was going through, the exact advice that I gave her, how that advice would’ve helped her, and a breakdown of what happened as a result of her ignoring my advice.

This episode is part 4 of a 4-part book series where I’ll be sharing and discussing advice from my favorite books on entrepreneurship, money & success, and how the advice from these books are helping me make more in my business this year.
This episode is called "what separates the rich from the poor", and the book I’ll be sharing from is called Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
Kiyosaki advocates the importance of financial literacy, financial independence, financial intelligence, and building wealth through investing in assets and starting and owning businesses.
He grew up learning from two fathers - his own father, who struggled financially even though he was very educated and had a high position in his job, and his friend’s father, who didn’t finish high school but left his son a financial empire.
Let’s get into the difference between the mentalities of his poor dad and his rich dad and why both of their lives went in such different directions - why his poor dad struggled with money despite his degrees and his high position job, and why his rich dad succeeded financially without a formal education.

It helps entrepreneurs examine the psychological power of thought and the brain in furthering your business financially and also for personal fulfillment.

This episode is part 2 of a 4-part book series where I’ll be sharing and discussing advice from my favorite books on entrepreneurship, money & success, and how the advice from these books are helping me make more in my business this year.
This episode is called how to win & influence your buyers, and the book I’ll be sharing from is called How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
Dale Carnegie understood human nature - he discusses the psychology of people and how to use this to build solid relationships and influence people to follow in your direction.
Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people.”
When you’re able to build good relationships with people, you’ll find that business success comes to you naturally, because being a business owner and having customers, especially the ones who come back again and again, is about building relationships.
This is a critical skill that every entrepreneur who wants to be successful should be practicing.
You simply won’t have a full time business for long unless you put these strategies into practice to win your customers over and keep them loyal and coming back to you.
This is information that will never become outdated, standing the test of time for nearly 100 years.
In this episode let’s get into 3 ways to win and influence your buyers to come back to you over and over again, helping you grow and sustain your business and also keep them happy.

104. Make More Money With These Formulas (FREE Download)
As I mention from time to time here, generating money from your business is a numbers game.
The more targeted traffic you get to your store, the more sales you can expect to see if what you sell is in demand.
But how do you answer questions like, how many sales do I need to get in order to make enough money to pay my living expenses?
Or, how much money do I need to invest into this product in order to get X in revenue and from that, how much will I profit?
To answer these questions, you need to know exactly what your material costs, shipping costs, and cost of fees are from your selling platforms.
If you’re looking to quit your job and become a full-time business owner, you have to be able to answer questions like these which will help you set realistic financial goals, see into the future of your business and even predict how much you’ll need to invest until you make enough money to cover your living expenses.
Pretty exciting, right?
To visualize your success down the line, you need to have all of your numbers organized into something like a spreadsheet with formulas that automatically calculates these figures for you to give you the ability to see into the financial future of your business.
And in this episode I’ll be sharing how these formulas can help you be crystal clear about your numbers, and I’ll even be giving you these as a download, so stay tuned till the end of the episode to learn more about how to download my spreadsheet and get access to these formulas.

101. How I Almost Got Scammed Out Of $600
When you’re a business owner, at some point in your journey you might experience someone trying to take advantage of you.
In fact, last year I talked about how I got scammed on Etsy in episode 70 where fraudulent buyers would target my digital listings, download them and request an automatic refund from Etsy so they basically got it for free.
Thankfully, Etsy has since changed their policy on digital downloads and now you can no longer request a refund on a digital item.
This story I’m about to tell you though happened to me a few years back when I was mainly selling original paintings.
Someone tried to get their hands on one of my $600 paintings for free, and if I had not already been aware of the red flags that many sellers miss, I could have become a victim of fraud.
In this episode, I’ll share what happened, all of the red flags that told me this was a scam, what would have happened if I didn’t know any better, and how to make sure you don’t get scammed yourself because people like this target creators just like you all the time.
