Charlie’s Toolbox is a podcast for women rediscovering themselves after a heartbreak, a traumatic event, or simply wants to change. The moments after a hit to your self-esteem are some of the hardest. You want to feel confident, but you have doubt. You want to move forward, but your fear won’t let you. You want to feel like you again, but you are not sure if you can. If you are in this space, this podcast for you. In each episode researcher, Charlie Taylor will teach you how to overcome self-criticism, low self-esteem, self-worth issues and help you trust yourself again. While there are plenty of coaches that assist with these obstacles, Charlie’s approach is unconventional. She does not ignore structures like patriarchy, white supremacy, and homophobia. She provides steps that help the individual but also plans for societal structures.

Ep. 85 Defining My Own Womanhood: Accountability, Joy, Spirituality, and Unconventionality
This episode explores what womanhood means to many of us and how we can redefine it for ourselves. For many of us, womanhood has been defined by our mothers and grxandmothers' experiences, and we have been conditioned to believe that men are the only way to find true fulfillment in life.
However, we challenge this notion and redefine womanhood to mean accountability, joy, spirituality, and unconventionality. We believe that by shifting our focus away from men and our parents, we can discover what truly brings us joy and fulfillment.
We dive into what it means to be accountable for our womanhood, why taking responsibility for our actions is essential, and how victimhood can hold us back. We also explore how womanhood can be enjoyable, even when society seems to emphasize suffering.
We encourage you to reject traditional paths of womanhood and focus on what brings you joy and fulfillment. Join us in defining womanhood and taking full responsibility for your past, present, and future.

Ep. 48 Dating Safely
Welcome to this week’s episode of Charlie’s toolbox. Today’s topic is safety. Physical and emotional safety. This is an interesting topic because I’ve seeing tips typically used by experienced sex workers passed off as dating advice. I worry about this because sex workers are not naïve about men, but you all are, and your naivety is something that can be preyed upon, exploited, and used as an opening for violence. So, you need to be clear about what safety is and what it is not.

In part 1, we discussed the art of getting back to yourself. I asked you to acknowledge you are in a pandemic because that plays a role in your discontent or not feeling like you. I asked you to love your routine but also make space for spontaneity. Sometimes patterns can make your life feel dull. Finally, win small! Winning small feels like a jolt, and sometimes you need that jolt to make you feel good. To feel like you! Part 2. We will discuss your thoughts and your environment. There are particular ways they hinder you from feeling and being who you want to be.

Ep. 19 The Difficulties of Embracing Peace
This week I want to discuss embracing peace and the struggle that shows up while embracing it.
What led me to this topic was my own life. Right now, my life is peaceful. I mean everything is going right. I am finding my passion in my work with Charlie’s Toolbox. The podcast is fun, the writing is fun, and the stories empower me. My dating life is peaceful. My relationships with my friends are peaceful. My family and I are for the most part peaceful. Everything is peaceful. However, though I am peaceful, I had this aching feeling that it would change. That once again I would find myself on the ground heaving, pleading to God to help me through it. I could not fathom that peace could be mine, forever. Instead, I enjoyed my peace, while holding my breath. This episode discusses that feeling, why, and how to overcome it.

Ep. 14 Stop Worrying! It’s Just A Date.
The truth is…. Dating is hard, but it isn’t.
It is hard when you are holding your breath, secretly waiting to be saved, validated by a partner. It is hard when one negative or ugly comment from a prospect sends you into a spiral. It is hard when you move your boundaries because this guy is GREAT! Even though you have no real way of knowing. It is especially hard when you feel that this is your only hope for happiness. However, It is easy when you’ve worked on yourself and know that this experience is for you. When you work on yourself, you don’t give weight to an opinion outside of yourself. When you know the experience is for you, you don’t audition instead you become the panel.
So, how do we date to make sure that dating is easy, listen here to find out!

It saves you from a lot of pain & heartbreak.” I had many women retweet, share on Instagram, and message me agreeing but asking how? In this episode, I will break down the contours of a self-centered life and by the end, you should have a full picture of what that looks like for you

Ep: 8 Fearlessness
Fear is a powerful force. It is a response that warns or protects you from danger. Basically, its sole purpose is to help you survive. Fear is something we are supposed to have and it is extremely helpful. However, when exhausted and perverted, fear can be the very thing that stops you from enjoying life. In this episode, we will discuss methods to attack and confront fear.

Ep: 2 Planning for Vulnerability
This episode is for people who struggle with trusting themselves after a difficult breakup. Those folks who experience a traumatic heartbreak and decide to forego vulnerability because they suspect it is the cause of their immense pain. It is for the children of terrible caretakers, who weren't afforded the space to be vulnerable and loved unconditionally. It is hard to be vulnerable when this is your foundation. So, you have to do like you do everything else, plan for it. This episode is for the people who hate being vulnerable, don't know how to be vulnerable, and folks who are struggling with vulnerability. I teach you how to break down vulnerability so that you can trust that you will be able to do it and safely.

Ep: 7 Getting Up After Hardship
So many of us fail, but we don’t openly talk about it due to shame and embarrassment. A failure can have your stomach in knots. It can zap your energy and have you in a sunken place where you ask yourself “why bother?” So, the question begs to be asked how do you get up when you have no life force? In this episode, I hope to give you some strategies so that you can gain the energy back to be yourself or to be a better version of yourself.

Ep: 6 Carefrontation
In this episode, we discuss the topic of Carefrontation. We discuss its definition. When to use it and why to use it...
Carefrontation is another way to understand confrontation. It is from a place of love. You love yourself so much that with every interaction and space you enter in, you notify those around you of how you want to be treated.

Ep: 5 The Power of NO
When we learn about the power of no, we often do so by having it removed from us. We are either told it is unladylike to say no (aka boys won’t like you) or we are abused by the people closest to us and feel as if we have no choice (aka do this to keep the family functioning). As a result, we go along with things we hate. Date people, we don’t like. Develop no boundaries and allow people to impede on the things we need. In this episode, we are going to address some of these fears, teach you what no is, the cost of not saying no, and finally, we will go over strategies on how to say no or phrases that will help get you there.
