It was written in the sweltering heat of August, basic tracked in September, vocalized and mixed in October. Owing as much to New Year’s Eve as Christmas, “Auld Lang Syne (Don’t Waste My Time)” is in the tradition of non-traditional holiday songs. It commemorates the evergreen of broken love and doomed relationships, set against a holiday party backdrop. What could be more festive?
