About Sam Opoku
Sam Opoku is a young Ghanaian-American singer, songwriter, producer and musician. Sam was born in Ghana, and moved to the USA at the age of 7. He grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Phoenix, AZ to pursue music at Grand Canyon University where he obtained an undergraduate in vocal performance and a masters in Business Entrepreneurship. Sam taught himself to play keys, produce music and write songs from his bedroom studio and has been working under the radar for a while, releasing singles like No Doubt since 2017, and more recently, the bouncy, pop influenced R&B single Find My Way, which has caught the ears of music fans who have been paying attention. What makes Sam particularly special is his ear for catchy pop melodies for and his penmanship. He’s an extraordinary songwriter, one who has been a finalist in the American National PoetryOutLoud Championship back to back. His musical skill and attention to lyricism shows itself in every song, where the singer uses every line to portray his message in a simple but poetic manner, putting passion and meaning into even the most fun of songs. This gives the listener more to look forward to and dissect. In 2018, Sam released his debut single titled The One, a bouncy afropop tune that sees the singer serenading his love interest in young pop star fashion. The One burned up the airways in Ghana and beyond being featured on Live FM #1 song of the week for 3 weeks in a row. The vocalist continued his run with heartfelt earworm Love Somebody which was featured upon release on Afrobeat Hits and Alte Cruise Music playlists on Apple Music. Sam’s passion for music is evident in his versatility and creativity shine through especially with his most recent R&B release titled, Yellow, a buttery and soulful tune touching on young love and loss. Sam has planned fresh new single releases, collaborations, music videos and a debut EP making this is definitely the start to a long and fruitful music career.
