About Kwame Drews
Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter and producer Kwame Drews has an artistic way of songwriting with unique acoustic sounds that invite the listener into an experience of emotional truths. Kwame began his musical life as a teenager in the church. Growing up surrounded by the church choir and musicians, he took keyboard lessons and taught himself how to play drums. During the search for his own sound and inspiration for songwriting, Kwame began to draw a lot of inspiration from contemporary musicians and artists from the ‘80s and ‘90s such as Sting, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars and Emeli Sandé. Songwriting has always been his ultimate joy, leading him to produce songs in his bedroom. Influenced by the personal changes he has seen and been through over the past years, his songwriting and sound blends elements of unique acoustic sounds with piano, guitar, layers of percussion and drums.
